Great restaurant, very clean with nice staff and incredible views of Times Square. Alone because of the view, it's worth it to go.

Conveniently located with the Subway convenient! Excellent breakfast although very repetitive. Respectable service. We stayed on the 25th floor, overlooking the east side of Manhattan, very beautiful although certainly not comparable to more central hotels but still very suggestive. I recommend tall rooms, it's worth it. The thing that most led me to lower the score is the furniture, very worn by time as well as the fixtures. The rooms are sufficiently quiet with comfortable although certainly not very large beds. Cleanliness ok, services ok, good location, very helpful staff. Small gem, the entrance immediately next to that of the hotel is that of the legendary Gallaghers steakhouse !!
The reception is insufficient to manage so many rooms, the area dedicated to Accor members in fact used by all customers. Being a gold member I requested an upgrade to a higher category which I did not obtain when the hotel was not full.
I had reserved 8 nights in a 9th / 16th floor room including breakfast for 2 people with the express request: far from the elevator, and the room was in front of the elevators, no modification possible at the reception, end of non-receiving firm . I found a certain lack of consideration of the customer.
The Lobby, the terrace and the bar show lack of cleanliness and maintenance.
In short, I did not feel at all in a 4-star hotel from the Accor group! However, efficient and helpful maids and waiters.
Hotel is nice, pretty standard for 4-stars: comfortable bed, nice shampoo and conditioner, easily accessible outlets, and a good desk for working. The thing that makes this hotel exceptional for midtown is the restaurant, which is probably the best meal I've had anywhere in midtown.
Fantastic place location excellent will be booking for next year.
Bad Staff. I dont known why but there's a charge of 4$ to recieve packages, but I called the hotel before booking it and they told me it was free of charge. Very upsey about that.
Splendid hotel. Incredible stay. View of the room on times square. Hotel bar with terrace: view of Times Square. Very nice and a very clean room
Hotel with a modern design, very well finished and perfect, a luxury for the view. The only flaw the daily cleaning of the rooms, they simply change towels and arrange the sheets (the pillows do not touch them) I have been in other hotels of the same chain in other cities, and the service was very different.
Very good hotel of the Accor group. Great location on Times Square. Metro station nearby. Many rooms have views of Times Square especially those on the upper floor. 33 floors. We were in the 20th and it was superb.
Very comfortable rooms.
We spent 2 nights at the Novotel Times Square, the rooms are clean and the views are great in Times Square, the breakfast is adequate and the bar is also very nice with a playroom for the kids,
it is very appreciable especially with children
Magical place with a view of Time square. Very correct price. Comfortable room. Professional welcome.
Room was tidy, hotel was nice. Restaurant was quite good and proximity to time square was perfect.
Hotel very good, the restaurant is average, a quality of service typical French, unworthy of the United States
It may be expensive but you will not regret staying here.
Funky atmosphere, good service, move rooms. Perfectly located.
Good service and view of Times Square. A bit disappointed in the beer selection however.
Nice place, very convenient to everything. Wish the concierge was there later in the day, was usually gone before 3.
This is a great hotel. We think we are in a dream !!!
like most other Novotel, and okay, bed linen is changed every day, clean
The best place to see all Times Square.
We in love of this Rooftop.
Spectacular, incredible beds of comfortable good service and very well equipped room with 50 TV, next to Central Park and Times, subway and services, spectacular views from the same hotel, totally recommended, I would certainly repeat without thinking
Practically 100% satisfied, cleanliness, organization, accommodation, everything impeccable, only the cordiality of the attendants would not give a maximum score, but it also did not compromise my stay. I just believe that because it is a tourist city, the friendliness and willingness to exceed customer expectations could be better, especially for the waiters at breakfast.
We had a specific problem, with the payment of "TIP", due to the ignorance of my parents who are already of age, which I tried to repair the next day and which I consider to have been inelegant on the part of the waiter, mainly for not giving us the same standard of attendance from previous days, I tried to talk but even so it remained rough, which compromised the tip payment for himself the next day, in addition to causing the request for non-attendance by him more. Even so, we left very satisfied with the rest.
Best place to stay at. Close to everything and affordable.
Attended a holiday work event. Beautiful space and view of times square. Food was delicious. Needed more speakers on dance floor as the music was low.
Twice in NY and twice I've stayed here. It is in a logistically strategic position, it does not cost much, it is not luxurious but there is everything. Nice terrace on Time S. Varied breakfast, not very good desserts.
Pros:
The location is great
Cons:
I have arrived at the hotel at about 07:00, asking if my room may be ready by any chance, even though I had arrived a few hours before the check-in time.
I was told that it would be possible to do an early check-in, but only at an additional cost of $100 - roughly the same as what I was going to pay for my entire stay there.
Now, it is perfectly fine to reject a request for early check-in if there are no available rooms (in case the hotel is fully booked - this is understandable). However, I find the fact that the hotel has actually got available rooms, and simply wants so much money just to allow a guest the courtesy of an extra few hours rest after a long journey - quite greedy and unwelcoming.
Very functional and very good views from the breakfast terrace. All very well
Located directly in Manhattan with a great terrace facing Time Square.
Compared to other hotels located in Downtown Manhattan it offers great service and very nice rooms for an acceptable prize.
Spacious rooms and a buffet for lunch quite complete, all this next to "Times Square" ...
Great room, good location, best breakfast. Stayed in business room, but got ghetto service. It feels like customer experience is no priority.
Friendly staff, clean and great atmosphere. Great views of time square not overcrowded.
Very clean modern hotel. The shower was my favorite. I was on the 29th floor and barely heard any news traffic minus an ambiance. Staff was very accommodating with all of my needs. No concerns at all.
Every time we go to New York, we stay at the Novotel.
The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The staff is pleasant and professional, especially Yves "the concierge" who gives good addresses (jazz) and many information on the city.
Breakfast is plentiful and sufficient choice. However, especially on weekends, you have to wait for a quarter of an hour to get a table. It's a pity especially since there are free tables but who are not cleared.
Tip: choose a room with Times Square view on the upper floors
Modern updated hotel right in the heart of Times Square. Right off Broadway, a block from several theatres. Great location and great views from rooms and outdoor terrace.
Drinks are pricey but given the area it's normal. View is great from rooftop over looking Times Square. Indoor and outdoor space so good year round.
What a great hotel. Good service in the rooms. Beds were top. Room clean and tidy. It was very busy both in the city and the hotel. The staff very friendly work hard for their tip. The terrace is really great. You look at Time Square like that.
Below the wait in terms of benefits (King size bed 140cm paradoxal in the land of things huge) breakfast buffet equivalent to what we can have in France (see below). Ideal location
Nice location and bartenders. Not crowded and no cover!
Very nice breakfast, in an exceptional setting. However, do not try to speak in English because they will leave you V or fuss in English and then say "I speak French"
Frankly personal very pleasant and professional
Bigger room, comfortable bed, great view, and everyone was very friendly....great customer service! We will stay here again
Very central hotel, 1 minute from Times Square. Very correct and expensive breakfast.
Fantastic.
Perfect home.
Room of good standing, according to our expectations.
Mention very good for the PDJ: room or terrace, well supplied and very varied.
Excellent service I celebrate my sister birthday thanks rooftop for service thanks tony for the bests attention
Didn't visit the hotel, was across the street at a wonderful diner.
just returned from a 3-night novotel stay. i really like the location. from grand central @ a 25 minute walk to E 51 st.. the hotel has changed since my last stay there. enter the elevator to go up to the 7th floor lobby. the checkin was seamless. the assigned room, 2408, is a handicap room. ( not requested ). it offers a view of 7th av, and a peek at times square.
the room has been done in dark tones of green. a nice sized room. there is a room safe , and a small fridge. also there is an iron and ironing board., and a small closet. there were no drawers. the bed , a king, was very comfy. nice bedding as well. the room is carpeted, a dark color. the bathroom has a 'barn door' which was very hard to slide open/ closed. the bathroom was also done in dark tones. the trough sink was small. there was no counter space. the sink was made of a hard plastic. the shower was large ( handicap- roll in ), good water pressure from the rain head . we visited over the 4th of july - the ac worked very well. the novotel has re-worked the bar setup. there is an outdoor patio which offers a fantastic view of times square. a great spot for a cocktail. the rooms and common areas were very clean. overall a very good stay. i do think the furnishings could be improved upon. the room cleaning staff does a very good job. check out was also quick. we did not eat at the novotel .
we got our stay at a good rate - . a very good mid-town stay. july 2018/ ct. jds.
Good place for cocktails above the hustle and bustle.
Very pleasant rooftop, affordable beers during happy hour
Great place to stay kind staff, the best location in New York!!
Ordered a room without feather pillows and had a right fuss trying to get non feather. In all took over an hour to sort it out. But apart from that great staff and great room.
Just near central park and time Square, clean rooms, nice view
The room very clean and organized, with everything running perfectly.
The location is great. Close to everything, metro, theaters, bars and restaurants.
A 4 star hotel, but more similar to Accor's 3 stars, biased the price of the daily rates, even with its location.
The check-in delayed 1 hour, which is a lot for those who are tired of traveling.
I also had a bad experience with a gentleman named Paco, very impatient at the concierge. A place where tourists are received, the person should have more patience about the language.
Positives:
Great Location, Friendly staff and clean rooms are certainly positive. The restaurant food was very good and the rooms are of a decent size (for New York).
Negatives:
There where a lot of private parties throughout our stay, which limited certain sections of the bar and restaurant at various times. Also the ice-machine on the 26th floor was broken, reported it, but apparently they staff weren't able to fix it, rather unfortunate since you can't visit other floors without a key card.
The Supernova bar is a place I love. It is central in NYC, it is not too crowded, it is beautifully designed and decorated. They have a great choice of drinks and snacks. The view from the rooftop is incredible and it is one of the rare place in NYC where you can drink and have a cigarette outdoor.
I recommend the rooftop with a nice quiet view on times square :)
Clean, comfortable rooms, great location, friendly staff.
Very good located, not far from Times Square. Nice room. Breakfast is OK. Not cheap. Half of the employees is unfriendly and the other half is at the contrarary very helpfull; strange... I learned that the "negroes" are much more helpfull and open for communication than the white New Yorkers. This is also so in Novotel New York, except for the white man at the help desk.
Very good hotel. The rooms are comfortable, functional and some overlook Times Square. A spacious gym is available. Nevertheless, the organization at breakfast time disappointed me a little ...
I went to the Hotel Novotel rooftop bar with a friend of mine. I heard so many great things about it. It did not disappoint. The drinks were good and service was great. Seating was plentiful and the view was amazing. I would go again with more people.
Clean hotel, good location, bar terrace overlooking Times Square and Broadway, room ok, only downside, no coffee in the room
Modern obviously recently renovated 4 star hotel, only the cocktails at the bar were not recommended. Top location and great views from the terrace to Times Square ..
Top location
Nice room
Nice staff
Great modern hotel in a unique location in Times Square. A tip: the generous breakfast buffet.
Beautiful view of the restaurant, ideal location. Price accordingly.
I booked 2 nights for weekend of New Year's Eve through Hotwire. The facility was nice, very modern and very clean. The layout is a little strange with street level walk in only. You have to immediately take elevators to lobby for reception check-in. Then you have to take separate elevators to rooms....very circuitous with lots of walking around. Service was OK, concierge was a little snobby. There was a planned New Year's party but it was poorly organized. Coat check in and way to terrace was same line, which made it long and not very efficient. All drinks were the same price - $20 for beer, wine, cocktail, champagne or soda. Problem was they wouldn't take any money at the bar, only coupons that had to by purchased at different table but they ran out. Here we were on New Year's Eve but we couldn't get champagne because they ran out of coupons and bar wouldn't take our money. We waited for a while and lost our spot on the balcony to watch the ball drop....very frustrating. Location of hotel itself was very good though, literally right in Times Square and close to Rockefeller Center, the 2 places we wanted to see and close to our favorite eateries as well.
I would have given them a 4 except that after getting home, I discovered a charge on my credit card. When I called to inquire they explained it was their daily fee. I told them that I was not told about it and the rep blamed Hotwire for not telling me and lectured me that had I booked directly through them, they would have told me. I then asked why their hotel reception didn't tell me when I was there in front of them at check in and check out. I was surprised that they would have a practice of running charges without telling me. The rep actually said that they try to expedite their check-in and check out SO THEY DON'T TELL GUESTS ABOUT THE CHARGE! When I pointed out that they were not being transparent by avoiding to tell me, he said that they did tell me by posting their fee on a sign and TV monitor in the lobby. I reminded him that it was crowded on a holiday weekend and it's shady for their staff to not tell me when they took my credit card at check in and didn't say anything. Even at check out, I was told simply that I was "all set" but no mention of a charge. He was completely unapologetic about their practice.
I would have gone back given decent price and location before I saw the charges. even after the charges, I would not have cared about paying the fee had they been nicer about it: apologizing for their staff not making it clear, plan to improve on their lack of clarity, etc. But given the rude response and not taking any responsibility, I will not return because of their poor customer service and sketchy practice. In fact, I will discourage my friends and family from staying at this hotel. If you stay here, at least be warned now that their will be daily fees. These fees may not be unusual in NYC, but this place is not upfront in telling you about it.
I liked the view from the terrace. Doormen at the street level was very friendly.
Good place to hangout with friends. Nice vibes and beautiful view from the rooftop.
