Great hotel, great location!

Great hotel, great location!
It is a bit pricey but worth it. Especially if you take a room with a view of Times Square! I couldn't stop admiring him. Magnificent !
If you don't get a room with a view, don't worry, you'll get it on the bar terrace anyway.
Otherwise the rooms are clean and pleasant.

Venue was amazing great view of the ball drop altho bar staff were rude and unwilling to honour the open bar cocktail list. By 10pm the bartender said he wouldn't make us cocktails anymore, even though we only got there at 9:15pm. Another bartender refused to serve me

Oh my gosh! My husband found this hotel on the internet, and of course when he mentioned it, I looked it up too. We chose it based on location (Times Square) and the offer of the free breakfast. However, our experience was so much more those two things. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. We were able to check in a little early, and our room had an amazing view of Times Square. I appreciated the firm mattress and the wonderful rain shower (great water pressure). I also liked that the room was quiet. We had a yummy dinner in the restaurant our first night (try the vegetable stew with the couscous), and enjoyed an after-dinner drink on the outdoor patio. My husband and I both agreed that if we ever come back to NY, we would stay here again! I highly recommend a stay here, if you are planning a trip to NYC.

Hotel very well situated.

Large, clean room.
We took a room for the back then without much noise.

The room was clean, large and comfortable. Nothing to complain about!
Breakfast is excellent.
All that's missing is a Spa for the 5th star

It s always a pleasure stay at this Novotel.
I stayed at the hotel twice. Always the same.. clean rooms, good shower, good bed, everything was nice.
I should remember that the breakfast was always perfect and also you can enjoy the view: Times Square!

Supernova Bar - Excellent selection of draught beers, and spirits. Brilliant service from our bar staff, especially Yajaira who was engaging and informative on a wide range of subjects including American holidays, local eateries, and craft breweries. Five stars for service despite disappointing weather. Cheers!

Stayed there for two days. Views were okay. No coffee machine in the room. You won t get it unless you request. Also no snacks and beverage in the refrigerator and even no water. Room temperature was low so had to ask to unlock their temperature limit.

My friend and I arrived at the hotel at 12am on the first night and tried to check-in. But unfortunately, there was an issue when we get there so the staff said that we needed to go to the other hotel nearby even though we were so tired and exhausted from jet lag. I was so mad that I complained about it but they didn't listen to me carefully at all. The staffs said that they will give us a refund later but we were very frustrated about the inconveniences.
However, cleaning and concierge staff was very great and helpful. Plus, the hotel has a nice location. It is located a few blocks from Times Square. Also, it has a great view of Times Square.
But this hotel definitely wouldn't be my first choice if I will get back to NY because of their services.

Hotel in good location, great breakfast buffet very nice terrace with views of time square. Terrace gets very busy in evening though because of bar at the terrace. Room was small, as was the bathroom. No coffee maker in the room, so I had to go to the lobby in the morning to get a cup of coffee, complimentary in the lobby. That s why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. All high end hotels should have coffee makers in the rooms. I also wish they included bathrobes as well. But other than that, enjoyed the stay.

A superb hotel ideally located for visiting Manhattan. The rooms are modern, well equipped and very clean. Some of the staff speak French, which can help for non-bilinguals! Finally, the hotel has a superb terrace overlooking a part of Time Square.

Where do I start? First, I really liked the place. The place was beautiful , we had Times Square as a backdrop which was pretty cool. I did not like how the bathrooms where so few and so tight for such a big restaurant. I did not like the prices for the food. I ordered a Filet Mignon and paid $45 total, no drinks just tap water. My plate had the Filet and potatoes and some brussel sprouts and that was it. I did not feel I got my money's worth. I know of way better restaurants which are not nearly as expensive. The waiter was almost rude and they charged the tip without asking.

I visited my mom when she stayed here and found the hotel to be lovely. However, she left items in the safe and the hotel has been completely unresponsive in trying to help her. I would not recommend this hotel.

Update: concerning the nice note here, no one has contacted her. Horrible service!!!

Excellent welcome, Platinum upgrade, with little touches that should inspire many managers of Novotel establishments, as well as Pullman and even Sofitel in France.
All the smiling and welcoming staff and even very patient when rude French kids stir up trouble in the reception hall in front of their indifferent parents!
Beautiful renovated room of a good size, rare in NY. Excellent bedding. Room on the 32nd floor with spectacular views of Times Square noisy air conditioning. Nice but small shower room.
Breakfast not taken because too expensive.
High room rates but it's NY!

The name of my husband is Adolfo Cabrera, -as a commentary- we travel at least 3 times a year to New York; For the last few years we had always arrived at the Marriott Marquis Times Square Hotel.
They recommended the Novotel and we decided to meet them.

1. KEY: FLCSBPZT from 04/07/2017 to 07/07/2017
In this room our experience was satisfactory from arrival to departure, both in the front desk and in the breakfast buffet.
We use check-in and fast check-out, we leave the hotel to go to Nisgara Fall and return to the hotel; so our luggage (2 suitcases) we leave with the bell boys paying 4 dollars.

2 KEY: FLCSBQLK from 7/08/2017 to 10/10/2017
We use check in line and fast check check out
We arrived at the hotel at 11:15 pm, as the flight from Bufalo to New York was delayed
To the bell boy of the street lobby we asked for our luggage and he told us that we had to request the key in the front desk because they were locked.
The employee who assisted my wife in the online check-in line at the front desk, assigned her a room (pre-paid rate) on the 9th floor and told her that this room was above an area where there was a party and we would hear noise until the party was over; to which my wife requested to assign another room and that it did not matter if it was not with two beds (as it had been solved), the employee without even bothering to look at the computer, told her that there were no rooms available.
My wife also told her that our luggage was in the street lobby with the bell boys, and she told us that we could not open the place where our luggage was until 7:00.
My wife insisted and the only thing he did was to tell him to talk to the manager in turn.

This employee was despota, and said that there was only room on the 31st floor, which was told that it did not matter where it was, that the important thing is that there was no noise, the reluctantly changing room, and asking for the key To save our bags, with a mocking smile and laughing at my wife I reiterate that he did not have a key to take the suitcases, and that we had said that we would arrive before 23 hours and it was already 23:20, that it was impossible to give us our suitcases, continuing with the mockery; My wife already angry, told her not to make fun of her, that the only thing we wanted was our luggage because she needed her medicines (she is diabetic) and she had to take them.

As my wife raised her voice, two security people showed up, asking what was going on, the first employee told them nothing, to which my wife told them that if there was a problem, that the manager was making fun of her and needed her suitcases for your medicine.

The most surprising thing is that the security manager took care of us and understood our problem better than the manager, it was for the keys, we went down to the street lobby and with the receipt of the suitcases we gave them to us.

You will understand that tourists expect to have the least problems and enjoy the stay.

The first stay was very good, all the other services were very satisfactory, very friendly staff, interested in attending. Premium buffet breakfast foods.

Stay almost perfect except the household that was almost not made the stay. With the exception of the bed and emptied bins. We stayed in other hotels in the US after the novotel in the chains Hilton and Loews and It had absolutely nothing to do at the level of the Menage

I can only rate the limited interaction with the staff upon checking into the hotel as this was to be my first time staying here.... but I did not get past the check-in due to the horrible customer service at my first point of contact.

When booking through a third party, the rate was lower than the rate on the Novotel website. Despite having a best price guarantee policy to beat the price by 10%, the Novotel refused to even match the rate. The reservations manager initially tried resolving this by canceling my reservation with a fee; after asking to speak to the general manager of the hotel, she said she would waive the cancellation fee but it would be a few days before the authorization for the room goes back on my account. This was BEYOND UNACCEPTABLE as I am now having to deal with not being able to make another reservation because of this hold.

Positive - A great location with a very comfortable room and bed.

Negative - Many of the lobby staff just seemed to be going through the motions, with little attempt at any greeting or pleasantries. Maybe that's just an NYC thing, but if you want to see how it should be done, try the Sofitel in DC where we are currently staying.
