A lot to see here for architecture, the inside of the capitol is insane with marble, and stones of all different sorts

Visited the New York State Capitol as part of a group of citizens to advocate for a cause. It was very beautiful, inside and out. Visited the "Egg." Great way to see democracy in action. A must for families with children!

This is an amazing building. And the state employee who gave us the tour was very knowledgeable. He confidently spoke of the construction of the building and its history. And helped us to appreciate the artistic genius that went into every stitch of the five floors of this gorgeous piece of architecture. If you're in the area check out Grandma's restaurant.it's not far away and offers a wide variety of incredibly tasty food at a very reasonable price. Don't leave the place without having a piece of the homemade pies. I go back to all Albany just for another piece of the strawberry rhubarb pie. I bought a whole one to take with me!

Definitely worth a stop while in Albany, beautiful and unique architecture. While inside you'll find many things to learn about the state of New York both past and present.

Took a self guided tour so I could take my time exploring, reading and taking photos. Next time I'll go with a group so I can hear about all the history.

I have a goal to see every State Capitol building at some point, and during a quick road trip I was able to see Albany. Amazed at the size and detail, this building didn t cease to amaze. Not a lot of time to do much touring or learning about it all while I was there, but I plan on researching more when I get home! Thank you for preserving such a work of art and American History.

If you re visiting the area, it s well worth checking out the capitol building. The craftsmanship and history of this building is pretty amazing. Photographs don t do it justice. You need to see this with your own eyes. The detail in the stone carvings is a must see. The concourse that runs below the area is also pretty cool. You can stop in Logan s and get a delicious sandwich while you re there.

This has to be one of the most beautiful buildings in the world.

I visited the museum I loved the antique cars They also have a ferris wheel restored with most of its original parts, (like a kid)...You must ride it..Fun-fun-fun!

Don't let the security and metal detectors thwart you. You're perfectly allowed to freely roam the halls of this gem of a landmark. In addition to the stunning architecture, the MC Escher-esque staircases, and countless carvings to admire, there are rotating exhibits throughout.

Beautiful architecture and craftsmanship in the Senate Chamber! Enjoyed watching the YMCA Youth and Government program state conference in action!

Haunting tour provides a little information, but the guide was very innovative

Knowledgable and friendly staffs for the tour. Recommended for tourists since it's free and there's not much to do in Albany. The building itself is very nice too.

The building is beautiful and very interesting. They should have a guided tour it would make the experience much better even a map would help

I took a tour with my son's class on a field trip, and it was actually really interesting, and the architecture is stunning. We took visiting family recently too. It's free, as are the Corning Tower observation deck and the museum, so it's a nice and inexpensive way to get some history and sights.

Man it was very impressive the people that built this building were true craftsman. So if you love historical buildings check it out.

Love the history in the building. Get yourself lost just walking around this beautiful place. Stop at the dunkin donuts and get yourself a coffee as well!

Not very interesting. It seems when they ran out of things about ny history they just added some stuff about native Americans (not saying they don't deserve museum space, it's just not related to the New York capital). The most interesting part was sitting in the New York Senate room. The true vexillologist in me was pretty disappointed when I asked them to change the flag, they said it's not in their budget or current adgenda to do so.

Best experience ever! I traveled with an Advocacy group and spoke with 10 senators. Everyone was great and listened to our concerns. I advise everyone to visit the capital and check out the million dollar staircase. Absolutely beautiful!

My favorite state and Albany is. A city of the most beautiful parks each and every one is fantastic.

It would be better if they rotated in some of that other seven floors of stuff that's off limits.

Impressive, almost opulent, vast building, self-guided visit works if you miss last guided tour. Great that halls of power are so accessible.
