I loved going and the experience I got while I was there was amazing too.
Went to protest several times and always treated very well by all capital staff. I really enjoy going there. Great visit for school children.
What a great Capital building. Don t even miss the dome. Security check to enter, free self-guided tours.
Love it . We try go in free tour, but looks like weekday no where for tourist.
Great place for anybody of any age...... beautiful building
One of the most luxurious government buildings in the US!
This was a fascinating experience. Michael was a knowledgeable tour guide.
Beautiful! Historic building. Well organized 8n several dedicated rooms for visitors! Allowed visitors to not only enter Assembly room, but also sit in chairs and at the rostrum! Senate room prohibited family entrance.
Ugly politics; ugly buildings surrounded by poverty.
People often talk about "the halls" of various institutions. "The halls" of the Capital Building are a sight to behold. The intricate stairwells are works of art. Fantastic!
Wonderful view from my hotel! It reminds me of a castle!
The outside of the building (in my opinion) is a better sight than the inside, but if you have time it's worth a look.
A must see once in your life for every New Yorker!!!! So important to NY history
beyond beautiful architecture. the building is truly a historic wonder.
the inside has a famous 1000 step staircase
home to ny state politics, local governers and located just round the corner from the beautiful plaza.
great statue outside, lovely surrounding area in downtown albany - great for sitting and reflecting, picnics etc.
One of the most beautiful state building I've seen. The inside looks like straight out of Harry Potter . I'm sure it is either Gothic or Roman Architecture.
There is a public tour every two hours starting at 10:00am. It is a must visit site if you are in Albany area. I would give this building a full five star.
One of the best buildings I have seen in my life, as government building specially, I was never expecting it to have gold walls and the artifacts that this capitol building has.
Mu Union 1199 SEIU Was Here On Tuesday, March 19, 2019 To Voice Our Concerns About The Proposed Medicaid Cuts.
A fantastic gem hidden in plain sight. REALLY too bad it is virtually inaccessible on weekends.
Absolutely beautiful building. Several historical displays.
Such lovely city . Nice place to take pictures . New York State Capitol gonna bring you a lot stories about the state whiling you explore the city.
To get there from NYC you can take the bus from Greyhound. It s cheaper and the location to drop off is great . Once you decide go there google ALBANY on your phone and look up for things to do in Albany or people also search for . It s gonna help you to find the most tourist place of Albany .
Great place to visit. Lots of great architecture and history
They have good hour long Saturday tours showing you the building with a person explaining snippets of history behind the construction of each space. They also have special haunted tours during Halloween
Beautiful looking from the bottom of state street at night.
What a cool place. A must visit. Make AMERICA GREAT AGAIN. just don't ware his hat the might not be nice you.
Heart of New York State, simply. Great place to take some tourist photos.
Beautiful. I Just wish they'd stop trying to modernize the buildings with ramps etc...
Take the baracades off the steps
Forget the legislatures go for the fabulous tours. Lot s of history!
A truly marvelous public building. Every inch of this building is a masterpiece. The attention to detail, the masonry, the carvings, the Chambers themselves. Do yourself a favor and take a free guided tour, and just look closely at the fine details and the elaborate.
Impressive Building! Stone and wood work incredible. Sign up for Saturday tour.
Great experience for the whole family. The tour guide was knowledgeable, friendly and answered all questions. The building itself is a piece of architectural art! Every where you look are intricacies. And it's free! Just show up and enjoy the tour.
Very safe. Even homeless people, will welcome you to the Capital City.
Never min the corruption ;) there are free tours! One of Americas most ornate and magnificent buildings. A must see.
Gorgeous and old. But don't forget NYs original Capitol : Kingston!
Fail on public rights. Guys came in and video recording in a public accessible place and asking questions I would like to know. Police escalated it and did the walk of learning actions. Public employees made not doing their jobs it looks like.

Beautiful building with many interesting details. The tour is very worth the time.
New York is corrupt to the core and makes a mockery out of democracy.
Great architecture and picturesque surroundings in the state capital
Great archictecture and a terrific tour. A must see if you are in Albany
Took a tour of the Capitol building yesterday. Amazing architecture, historical displays. Great Vietnam Veterans Day ceremony in the Senate Chamber.
Wish I had more time. Would like to go to there again. Loved it!
It was very interesting to learn about the history and about just how expensive this place is!
2018 Ultimate Tranformation New York MAKE IT HAPPEN
In Albany for work, and this sign was awesome! It was a quiet Sunday, and pretty empty.. Great for photos.
Took my kids on a tour for the first time. We were the only locals. They LOVED it and can't wait for a haunted tour in October!
Awesome building! And all the surrounding architecture
This is the ny state headquarters for a dem of vipers and crooks
I went for a Saturday tour on March 16. The tour guide was kiersten. She did a wonderful job and she was very informative. The YMCA conference was going on in the assembly room and it was fun to watch. The building is full of stone carving done by hand and beautiful woodwork. This building is one of a kind and worth the trip. If you go on the tour, be sure to go in the underground tunnel and meet at the gift shop. The underground tunnel looks like a mall, hard to believe it's underground.
Work in the building if you have never been to the Capitol building you should beautiful architect
