Rooms were dated but spotlessly clean. Bed was ridiculously comfortable...my wife had to drag me out of bed! Service was excellent.

This is the most shity hotel I've ever seen.. The bathrooms are so old, who the hell has shower curtains , and its a bath /shower. Im so disappointed. If your not willing to fix the place up stop charging top dollar. And there where toenail clips all over the veranda and it was also so dirty. The veranda hasn't been cleaned in a while i recon. Plus the aircon started dripping in one of the rooms. Im 170cms tall and when i showered i had to duck down to get the top of my head wet. 4 stars i dont think so

Nice hotel with friendly staff, excellent location opposite the foreshore.

Great location, but the hotel itself needs an update, and a good clean, especially of skylight windows in the lobby.

Don't stay here, well overdue for a makeover, room was great, parking is s nightmareas you have to keep going into reception to get the electronic pass to open the gate which can be a problem when the desk is busy, pool area filthy with food, plates glass left laying around for days, great location

Close to all shops. Across from the water. Big comfortable room. Very helpful staff. Would stay here again if I ever came to Darwin.

Very average rooms, I was in a Junior Suite which had been partially refurbished but the bathroom hadn t been touched in years. Nice staff and breakfast was good but the place has the feel about it that it would ve been great 20 years ago. A good few more modern hotels nearby that I would consider before the Novotel.

Great WiFi, good view and very large room not too expensive. Loved every second of it.

Used the meeting facilities. Not bad. Staff were wheeling the laundry bins past at a particular time that made sections of the meeting hard to hear

Great location, lovely and helpful staff and an awesome breakfast buffet. The rooms are nice but some aspects could do with a little spruce up. Love the atrium theme. Free easy parking and nice walking distance to local attractions like the waterfront.

Big rooms large open plan hotel, no down a dark corridor to your room. Staff excellent food in restaurant very tasty. Rooms renovated a few years ago now atrium area being renovated as it was looking tired. Rooms very clean n comfortable have stayed here for many trips have tried other hotels in darwin but return to novatel as i feel most comfortable here

Hotel was great but rooms were a little dated. Staff friendly and helpful. Pool area needs major renovation as some parts were dangerous. Could do with vending machines as bar not open during the day due time of year.

Just okay, nothing special. Rooms are clean but very dated and the air con was a real issue blowing hot air into the room, also the tiles around the pool area move a lot and are coming loose! My toddler was able to pull one tile around the spa completely off with ease. Staff were nice enough though, breakfast was too expensive for what it is.

Well positioned on the Esplanade. Nice entry and clear directiins to finction room. Well catered for ample seating and refreshments.

Tired and old BUT the food and staff amazing..extended our stay by two days..Christmas Buffet was just delicious!..

Good location - and probably good views if you get the right room.
The hotel is somewhat worn and needs an overhaul. Nice lobby.
Restaurant and breakfast is very standard without surprises - positive or negative.
Do not book for the pool experience - very much a rusty, back alley, parking lot experience. It's there, and that all there is to say about it.
All in all an average experience.

Dirty. Showerbath guys it's not the 90s. Cracks all throughout. Ceiling peeling. So much dirt on the sprinklers for fires. Door not flush on bathroom. Elevator missing down button. My fridge is 4 stars this place is not!

Jabiru Bar here at Novotel is one of the most underrated bars in Darwin. It's casual and relaxed and quiet enough for conversation and chilling out after a long day of touring or just working in town. A great range of cocktails both specialist and favourites and efficient staff. I was here for a function and the table staff were fantastic, attentive and quick to assist. A very good set as you'd expect from a major hotel. Well done.

Nice lobby area. The room was ok, reasonable pricing and good for the price. I stayed here for work so can t say much about the atmosphere and facilities as a vacationer.

Staff friendly. Old and rundown. Was probably nice in 1995.

Attended a work Xmas party. Staff were friendly and the service was really good.

Indian management is completely incompetent and unprofessional. Anywhere else in the world, they would be out on the street. Don't know how they stay imployed.

Ok hotel. Breakfast was fantastic, but the rooms were not really that special... For the price not really fitting. The aircon didn't seem to be working properly- it was cool in the room but super loud and we couldn't regulate the temperature. Nothing worth complaining about, but also not enough for 5 stars.

Old, unfriendly, outdated, owner apparently doesn t want to spend any money on renovating it which clearly shows up everywhere. Got moved after one night due to waterleaks in bathroom. No help in moving my belongings. Ants in my new room. Checked out three days earlier than planned.

Novotel CBD Darwin is perfectly located, opposite a park with a playground and 150m.from the CBD.
Staff are gracious and helpful. Even the maintenance man assisted with enthusiasm and professionalism as he tamed our air conditioner that threatened to vibrate itself off the wall.

The downside .
It needs refurbishment which is presently underway.
When this is done, if done well , will make this a top pick in Darwin.

Oh, the Chef is brilliant. Try his evening tucker first up in your Darwin stay and you probably won't bother eating anywhere else.

We ve stayed here multiple times with our 2 children. The building is older but well maintained.. Rooms are always clean and the aircons work well..
Every time we stay staff are friendly and I couldn t fault the service.. The beds are comfortable with soft pillows..
The kids love the waffles that are on offer at the buffet breakfast.. The restaurant has a lovely relaxed feel to it when dinning..

First the good, pretty good location (near ocean and park) and the wifi worked reliably.

The bad, just about everything else. The hotel and rooms are severely outdated and in need of general repairs. The bathroom has poor appliances and needs to be cleaner. I stayed for one week and had ants in my room the entire time (I had informed the front desk). The TV and remote are so old they only work some of the time.

Most of the staff were nice. The resteraunt service was not good though. I would not stay at this location again.

My room is on first floor and faces the back. Some machinery ran all night outside the room and was very noisy. For the money paid that was bad and I expected better. Rooms are ok and need a refresh but ok for short stay. Given the noise issue i would stay elsewhere next time.

Not even one star had to change rooms 10 a night parking. Restaurants and bar not open Friday night can only smoke at pool area says 24 HR room service there is none appalling for the money they charge never again. Do not recommend staying here

Bedroom aircon broken/broken iron only one working washing machine rooms were dated and had peeling
paint plenty of mould in the bathroom good location just run down external windows and doors had very little to no sound proofing staff were friendly

This is a great location and the staff have been great. Sure the rooms could do with some work but it never impacted our stay.

Needs a revamp in rooms. Didn't appreciate the early morning call that we didn't ask for. Windows need double glazing to keep out noise from the pub at the back.

Beautiful interior, bar is a real star attraction. Elevators are showing their age, and the rooms as well. Elevators are slow and clunky, bit worrying. Rooms a bit dated, but still nice. View is amazing, if you overlook the harbour you'll have incredible harbour views. If you're in the other side you'll have nice views of Darwin City, which is ok but not a star attraction.

Am staying very near to Novotel so not actually staying here, so this is about there out side bar on the ground floor overlooking the esplanade.
Nice area with fake grass but can understand that, sound system looks like a USB speak, am sure my phone would give out better sound. The main thing is the price of a bottle of beer, not competitive at 10 bucks for a bottle, much better places to go near by.

Always loved hiding here from heat after a long day out in the city!!!

Helped us get our luggage that went on wrong flight too, staff at the desk were top notch.

Not a welcoming or pleasant experience!...I booked online and had an option of an early check in due to my International flight, I regularly commute to Australia, I was then informed that there is a surcharge of $50 for an early check in!!

Be very aware also that there is a standard charge for breakfast, irrespective of what you eat, of $29!!...I am vegetarian and had 2 poached eggs, 3 slices of toast and a cup of tea!...DISGUSTING PRICE GOUGING!!

Whilst the initial presentation of the Atrium entrance appears attractive, as you enter the elevator is not clean and indeed smells!

Furthermore, as my room was on the fifth floor, I noticed huge cobwebs hanging from the ceiling of the Atrium...

The service is only PERFUNCTORY and at best, average!

I will NOT stay there again!

Nice, but the room A/C was a bit strange located at one end with a corridor between the bedroom and the air-conditioned end. Finally figured it out. Turn the ceiling fan in the aircon room on full. Then place the desk chair under the fan so it directs the air down the corridor. Cool air now gets to the bedroom... Perfect. Otherwise the hotel has great staff and a nice layout, if a little dated. Free parking outback which is nice.

Restaurant and bar not open due to covid19 June 2020. Washrooms needs a refresh.

On arrival we noticed the hotel was pretty much shut down. Only service desk and bar open. Restaurant shut down to maintance.
Hotel should not charge full price for half operating business. They could of contacted us prior so we could choose to stay elsewhere and get what we paid for.just felt riped of. Front desk staff where friendly and helpful but I never stay in a Novotel again.

Stayed for a long weekend with my hubby in a harbour view junior suite after getting a complimentary upgrade as an Accor member. The suite has a separate living/lounge area to the bedroom.The suite has a big flat screen TV in each area. There are all the usual mini fridge, tea & coffee making facilities. Lounge has a work desk and chair plus a 3 seater couch and coffee table. The king bed and pillows were very comfortable. The bathroom has bath/shower etc and adequate toiletries and fluffy white towels.There is adequate power points but a couple more in the lounge especially at the desk would have been welcome but loved the double points each side of the bed. Also really liked the little window nook to sit in and watch the ships go by. There's no Foxtel or Netflix but there is Stan on the TV. The hotel had limited dining/bar service due to COVID restrictions at this time but the staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Its true the hotel is a little old and worn in places but considering its age, its doing OK for the cost which is very reasonable. A great cbd location, yet quiet even on a Saturday night! Happy to recommend it at its price point.

Quite expensive weird layout of room. Worst feature was the horrible mouldy smell. Pool looked onto horrible flats. View outside ok. Wouldn t stay.

It's a pretty old building but great staff. Rooms are comfortable and most were updated. Aircon was noisy in the room and couldn't be left on overnight. Breakfast was one of the best I've seen with everything you could want including barista coffee!

Got an electric shock from a broken Power point, after reporting it twice it took two days for them to get an electrician. They did however leave a bottle of red with a note in the room, if someone with a heart problem there could have been a different result, I just could not believe the slow response time.

Paint was scratched off back of bedroom wall. Dirty spoon was included in cutlery draw. Stunk. Some lights did not work and bathroom was extremely awkwardly set out. Water pressure was bad and settings for water temperature was terrible.

Great service and a nice modern room, good power point locations and floating bedside tables. Shower could be nicer, just the standard tub, shower + curtain with the shower head too low for tall people.

Rating this because of the staff. Jackie the front office manager was outstanding ... good old fashioned SERVICE.

The staff are friendly and the rooms are mostly comfortable, but it kinda feels like they are designed backwards. The bed is right next to the door and the couch is in a kind of separate area.
