This quaint little restaurant is locally owned and the owner cooks the food, which means she puts her whole heart and sole I to her food. Environmentally conscious and healthy eating ideas. I love the food and flavours and highly recommend everyone give this spot a try! Homemade soups and sandwiches and a dozen different salad options and allergy helpful options! YUMMMM

The main street in Carleton Place is sweet and The Good Food Company is a sweet little restaurant. I am a vegan and appreciated the delicious vegetarian and vegan choices that my friends and I were able to sample. AND the deserts are fabulous! The staff and clientele are happy, friendly people an the ambience & "energy" of the place very comfortable. This was an exceptionally satisfying experience.

Very nice fresh plates. This is a lovely little cafe for breakfast and lunch. I do find the portions a bit small but the atmosphere makes up for it. we are lucky to have a breakfast place in this town that is not just a greasy spoon! All of the food seems very fresh and is thoughtfully prepared.

We ordered 2 salads from their catering menu for our daughters wedding reception. Both the Mexican potato salad and the roasted vegetable salad were absolutely delicious. We had so many compliments from our 150 guests and we could not decide which was better. The salads were ready to serve in frosted bowls that went well with the rest of our dishes. We were very pleased with the food, presentation and service. Thank-you Petra and the rest of the staff , you helped make a special day even better.
Sincerely,
Melanie & George

Was very disappointed in this place despite a high rating. The huevos rancheros was very basic and mushy and tasted like it had maranara sauce. The hollandaise sauce separated on the eggs Benedict. The wait staff seemed to be very inconvenienced by us and we had to ask several times for coffee. We waited nearly an hour for our food as a table of four. This place is not good, fast, or cheap. To say something positive it was decorated very nicely, we had plenty of time to look at every mug and place setting in the joint.

Here is a restaurant that truly deserves it's name. I had the thai soup with frittata, my wife had a wrap. I can't wait to go back. They should change their name to The Good Food Company AND Excellent Service. Magnifico, Delicioso. I would if I could give it 6 stars out of 5.

We were traveling and decided to make a stop at this place to have brunch. From the first interaction the waitress seemed to be not having a good day. We weren't given an option to where to sit even though three tables were available, but we were told that they were reserved. We were sat at a table literally attached to an AC vent with air blowing right at your stomach and legs which was extremely uncomfortable. After that it took us a few good minutes before we were able to get the waiters attention. By that time it was 10mins past their official brunch hours, and so we were denied being able to order from the brunch menu even though I explained we were traveling and would appreciate it if we can order from the brunch menu as it really hasn't been long since the official hours were done. We debated leaving at this point, but we were hungry and didn't want to waste more time as we were traveling. The food we ordered was okay I guess, nothing special, but also wasn't bad. However, the attitude of the waiter just made the experience unenjoyable overall. She also seemed snappy at other clients sitting at other tables which I just thought was unnecessarily rude.

Had granola with yogurt, bacon and corn bread on the side. A nice latte. Good food. Pleasant service. We sat outside in the alley. A sign said we had to order inside but the waitress came out and took our order all the same.

A cozy cafe tucked away in a beautiful old building (it was originally a pharmacy and some of the original shelves remain to tell the tale) on bridge street.
Best known for its Saturday and Sunday Brunch, this place is beloved by long time patrons. Get the huevos rancheros or eggs benedict for a perfect start to your weekend.

Absolutely worth the drive if you're passing through on the highway like we were this morning! Great, friendly service, delicious food, super cute atmosphere (like a little French cafe). We can't wait to come back!

Enjoyed the meal. I had a Tropical Chicken wrap that was tasty. My wife had the Spinach and Cheese Frittata. We ate on the side patio which was nice. If we are looking for a place to eat in Carleton Place, we'll consider here again.

I don t remember the food. I don t remember the atmosphere. All I remember was the incredibly good looking red headed guy in the kitchen. Great hair, perfect smile, incredibly attractive (but seriously the food was really good and the service was awesome and friendly)

Ordered the eggs Benedict, the hollandaise was lumpy and had separated, and the poached egg was platedband served even though it had broken and the yolk had leaked. I was seated on top an open cold air vent, and was very uncomfortable the whole time with the a/c just blasting on me.

Good food, really good food. I little pricey for the quantity.
Because of COVID, only 3 tables are available inside, but now there's 2 more outside.
Not about the place, but people should leave their tables once they're done, to leave room for others.

This restaurant s food is fantastic, but don t even bother going in if you re a table of two. The waitresses will not care about you as much as their bigger tables. My mother and I went there not long ago and we waited 40 minutes for a glass of water and then another hour for a BLT. Then we were thinking about getting a desert, but decided not to bother because after we had gotten out food, on one even bothered to check on us.

Great little breakfast cafe that I scoped out on our way back to T.O. Definitely worth the small diversion off Hwy 7. Had the breakfast burrito which I accompanied with potatoes and baked beans. GF had Belgian waffles said they were also very good. Also coffee was really good, exceptional I might add. Wait staff was professional / friendly. Would of given 5 stars but the staff member collecting the payment was lacking in customer service.

Perfect place for relaxed breakfast. More than your basic bacon eggs and toast breakfast. I couldn't decide whether to have the savory crepes with red onion and bell peppers or fritatta. I had the frittata, potatoes and fruit, wife had frittata with bacon and potatoes. Fresh food here, especially the potatoes not the frozen salty breakfast hash from most diners. Had nice Americanos to go with it. We went on a Friday morning and tables were reserved so I imagine it's packed on weekends so call ahead. Nice cocktail tables, about 15-20 so not a big restaurant think bistro cafe. We met our friends from Almonte and they come here all the time. We sat and visited for a while after and weren't rushed to leave. We would love to come for lunch sometimes. So if ever in downtown Carleton Place definitely visit here it's worth the drive. We came 20 min from Ashton. They also have a good coffee bar and baked treats if you don't want a while meal.

I brought my friend here who was visiting me from Toronto, as they have some vegetarian options. I brought my baby with us. When we arrived, there were two tables reserved, an open table available that would seat the three of us, as well as some people finishing up, so the tables were going to be free within a few minutes. The waitress appeared very distressed by us being there. She told us she couldn't serve us because the high chair would get in the way of other customers. The waitress was not creative in any way to try to accomodate us or to seat us. We will never be returning.

Had a fantastic Sunday brunch here. I had the eggs benedict with smoked salmon and gluten free english muffin, and it was delicious. The eggs were poached a perfect medium, salmon was top notch, and the hollandaise sauce was real, slightly tangy and delicious. The portions were generous, but after I finished I just wanted more because it was so good. I'll definitely be going back to the Good Food Company.

I've been going there yearly as a favorite stopover in Carleton Place. They have a variety of nice food, with vegan salad plates that are always great (ie with broccoli, beans, and fun stuff). they do a variety of other meals and also do coffee. Always cozy. Possible to eat on the little tables outside too and parking is easy right in front.

I went in looking for a quick coffee but was lured into ordering brunch by the plate setting on someone else's table. The BLT bagel I ordered tasted incredible. Truely one of a kind place. I don't think I'll be going anywhere else for lunch while I'm at Carleton Place.

Tasty breakfast foods. On weekends you can only get brunch all day, but the menu is more breakfast than brunch. Which was fine with us, but fair thee warned. Enjoyed our food, though it was -super- slow to be served and the waitress couldn't fulfill a customer's request for a split order of bacon because 'it wasn't on the POS' which I think is ridiculous, so service overall required patience. It was fine because we weren't in a rush but I could see it being an issue in future. Potatoes were really tasty. Less healthy menu than their branding seemed to suggest...maybe their regular week day menu is more of the 'good food', or maybe 'good' only refers to taste. Either way, it was a good second breakfast.

Husband wants me to note that for a little hippie place, he was shocked that jam and PB is still served in plastic single serving packs. Good point.

Petra hosted our rehearsal dinner for our wedding and it was fantastic! I heard nothing but rave reviews about the food from our guests and all of the staff was welcoming and attentive. Also, we loved the atmosphere that came from having the entire cafe for our private party! I would absolutely return to The Good Food Company for special events in the future- this was such a wonderful start to our wedding weekend!

Came here for brunch on a Saturday. We had a wonderful time and all of the food was amazing. I had the frittata which tasted amazing and was the perfect texture. The multigrain toast was so soft & fresh. I will definitely be back next time I m in the area.
