Horrible, ABSOLUTLY NOT worth the money. Took my friend who is a Ph.D Geography Professor and I was embarrassed afterward that I recommended the place to her. Not sure what they are spending the money on but it certainly isn't the displays.

Awesome exhibits! We are members, so we typically go at least 4 or 5 times per year to see the rotating exhibits. But you don't need to be a member to visit. They have an awesome virtual reality rotating exhibit that will blow you away! It's the next best thing to actually being there! The list of well known experts that come there to speak is off the charts!! Dr. Jane Goodall, Robert Ballard, Annie Leibowitz, just to name a few. Totally worth going to many times per year!!

The museum seems to be for children.
Currently presenting giant fish in rivers and the Indiana Johns.

I do believe that National Geography has a lot to present than this which I finished in 20 minutes for the both exhibitions.

Rather disappointed by this "museum". A single exhibit on the ground floor of National Geographic's headquarters hardly constitutes a museum in my book.

If you're expecting a full blown museum, save your money and head somewhere else.

When I hear NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC MUSEUM I imagine something big... something interesting... something for the whole family.
Two exhibits? It took us only 30 min to see everything. Kids were so exited in the beginning and so disappointed at the end! Not worth it!

The Titanic Museum Part was amazing lots of stuff I hadn't seen before or even heard about. Cool props from the movie. Christ tomb exhibit very moving definitely worth the money for the ticket.

Firstly, a $15 ticket is not that worth for sure. Secondly, we have been waiting to join the show/exhibition as they said, and there is no staff to call us when the show begins. We were 1 min late for the show and they said to purchase another ticket...

It's NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC, what more could you ask for? It has it's museums an IMAX Theater and a full fledged cafeteria open to the public. The center court is an amazing place to have a lunch date

Wonderful exhibit of Egyptian Queens until Sept. 2019. Lots of artifacts on loan from Italy provide pieces never before seen in the US. Highly recommend, but come prepared to spend several hours learning and exploring the exhibit. Cafeteria provides a chance to refresh with a tasty bite, then resume the tour.

This museum is a lot smaller than we anticipated. However, the exhibit we saw was amazing, powerful & very extensive. It was a homage our many unappreciated, Queens of Egypt. I love learning history about ancient cultures, so seeing more about these powerful, melaninated Queens was a treat. They showed all the things that any black girl wanted to know that they don't teach in school. From hair to harems, from perfume to power, this exhibit was probably my favorite out of all of the museums.

The only thing I was disappointed with was that the exhibit was the only thing shown. The rest of the floors were just offices in the building. The exhibit also had to be shut down early because of a tornado warning.

Somewhat disappointing exhibit of Jane Goodall. Very repetitive content. Probably best for young children. 3D part was fun as well as part where you imitate language.

Awesome. We saw the Christ's Tomb exhibit. 3D virtual world exhibit. Price is good, too - only $15. With that ticket, you can also see the second building exhibition, which was all the covers of Nat Geo over the decades. Very cool, low key thing to do alone or with kids.

this place has incredible things, some exhibitions are interactive and good for children, the guides treat you very well and give you interesting facts, the price of entry does not cost much.

I went a few days ago for the Queens of Egypt exhibit, and it was absolutely phenomenal. The tickets are only $15 (or $12 for students) and it was worth every single penny. Well laid out, easy to navigate, immersive, informative, and fun. I loved it and want to go back.

Although their exhibit space is petite, NatGeo has a creative curator who uses the space well. 3 dimensional standing tours, interactive storytelling, and moving pictures make the exhibit feel grander than the space it occupies. The exhibit we saw? The Queens of Egypt.

A little disappointing. The exhibits were all very good, the presentation of Jesus' Tomb was very interesting and the 3D really well done, even if you are not religious it's factually interesting as history of the area, and the effect is dizzying.
It's not clear that there is a second building, but the exhibit is really small. Overall, there just isn't much to see, and an hour is probably sufficient unless you like to read every single wall plaque end to end. A third or fourth exhibit would make this a much more interesting stop. But again, the quality of what is there is very good.

There are really great public exhibits that you can see any time. Visit the outdoor sculpture area, the wonderful #D relief of the Grand Canyon hanging over the elevator area, and sometimes the adjacent building has extended free exhibits. The low rating is due to the hit or miss nature of the paid exhibit area. You might get lucky and see classical sculptures from ancient Greece, or you might just see photos from NatGeo contests. That's $15 to walk through an instagram feed in a town where the world's greatest museums are free. In other words, don't go unless the exhibit is something you really want to see, or just pop in to see the free bits when you are in the area.

I expected more of it. More (mini) tentoons. But the choice to have large exhibitions. We visited two exhibitions.

The Tomb of Christ is impressive. It uses modern techniques (3D glasses on) and it seems that you are present yourself. Too bad the 3D does not cover your entire image. It looks like you are on an edge. That also makes you feel that you are going to fall. Holding each other helps!

Treasures of the Titanic is very informative. But it did not add anything to what we already knew. And the exhibit is also not spectacular.

WARNING: DONT GO HERE!!!! Complete waste of money. $15 ticket to view roughly 50 pictures. Much better way to spend money in D.C. should have been $5 per person. Took about 15 min to see everything there. So bad I asked for my money back. The other two exhibits I had paid were 1. literally some items outside the bathroom in the hallways of their office space; and 2. Pictures of magazine covers on the OUTSIDE of the building...... (both are open to the public). Worst museum experience I ve encountered. Would have given 0 stars if able.

A nice museum of a lot of Nat Geo s photos. There s some exhibits that detail how the photographs were taken. We only spent an hour in the museum. I was pretty disappointed by the lack of exhibits for the price. I wouldn t go back or recommend going out of your way to visit.

Nothing in the world beats National Geographic! There is a free "explorers" exhibit on site as well as a paid exhbitions on the Society side (the buidling is split between its TV/magazine and the historic nonprofit).

I attended the Tomb of Christ interactive 3D exhibit on this day. Without spoiling, I must suggest that as far as archaelogical exhibits go, this is the best I have ever experienced! Having never traveled to Israel, it was literally "just like being there" at the Tomb of Christ.

Maybe this is my fault, but I though this museum would have highlights of various stories and photographs of National Geographic s most popular articles. It was a tiny museum showcasing just one story in too much redundant detail.

Maybe some would like it, but I found it boring and a waste of time and money. Plenty of other things to do in DC that would be a better use of time.

It's fine inside but the exhibits are all very similar to one another (the Greek exhibit in September anyway). Far too expensive for what's featured. There's far better museums in dc which are also free. Quite disappointed.

Loved the Queens of Egypt exhibit. The museum might want to review how they present the written descriptions of the various artifacts. Some in my group found the print didn't have enough contrast with the background and was positioned poorly--too close to read with their distance lenses and too far away to use their readers.

The tomb of Christ exhibition (time limited) was certainly the high light - it was so well done and gave us a much better perspective of Jerusalem even after having actually been to the site. Highly recommended!
