This place was expensive and a waste of time. One room with pictures and that s it. The staff was clearly hiding the fact that most exhibits were closed. When I asked for what else is here she said no worries you can come back with the ticket to see the next exhibit which isnt helpful to mainly tourists. It took us 20 minutes to walk the whole thing. SKIP THIS!

On a beautiful Sunday morning of the LABOR DAY WEEKEND, from Vienna Va, I took the METRO ORANGE LINE to FARRAGUT NORTH. From there I walked on CONNECTICUT AVE, past the MAYFLOWER HOTEL, to ST MATTHEWS CATHEDRAL on RHODE ISLAND AVE. After the 11:30 mass, I walked on 17th Street to stop at the NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC MUSEUM. There I bought tickets to see CHRIST TOMB & JERUSALEM IN 3D! It was awesome! The photography was incredibly spectacular! It s super extraordinary!!
Ticket for CHRIST TOMB is $15
Ticket for JERUSALEM IN 3D is $7
The TOMB is shown every 12 minutes
I saw JERUSALEM at 3pm for 45 minutes.
After the shows, I had a MUSHROOM MELT SANDWICH, baked potato chips and chocolate chip cookie from nearby POTBELLY s. After a while, I walked back to FARRAGUT NORTH METRO STATION VIA FARRAGUT PARK stopping at FROZEN YOGURT for bottled water and a scoop of gelato with pistachio, then back to Vienna before sundown...
The trip left me feeling great and worthwhile!
I ll do this again next month to see those same shows because i know it will take me about 2 more years to save money before I can make the trip to see the REAL ONES in person...

Small place that didn't have too many visitors. It was fantastic. When we went, there was an exhibit about Egypt. It was so cool. They had Egyptian games set up and there was just so much history. I would highly recommend checking it out.

This was an enjoyable experience! The Day to Night exhibit was fun for me because I love wildlife, and the Jerusalem exhibit about the burial place of Christ was super interactive which kept it interesting! I'm normally not much of a museum person due to my attention span, but this was actually worth it. Show your college ID and it's only $13.

Awesome exhibit about women of Egyptian antiquity. Tour guide was kind and knowledgeable. I was disappointed by her traditional Eurocentric pseudoscience explanation of some points but she shed a lot of light on the overall subject, so I gave 4/5 's since the exhibition was superb.

What a let down. For being a paid Museum it pales in comparison to the free museums in DC. They have a rotating exhibit which was short but OK and then we were told the museum continues across the courtyard. The additional content is basically a single hallway of NG magazine covers. We were disappointed.

The Queen of Egypt Exhibition.

The Queen of Egypt Exhibition.
The five Queens of Egypt from Nefertiti 1539-1514 BC, Hatshepsut 1479-1458 BC, Tiye 1390- 1350 BC, Isetnofret 1255-1245 BC and The last Queen Cleopatra 51-30 BC. This exhibition uses various mediums from 3D, film to artifacts. They have a model of a burial chamber and explain the mummification process.

i've always wanted to stock up on national geographic gear, but the store is poorly arranged, so it makes it difficult to find anything worthwhile. i end up getting lost, flipping through the pages of one or two amazing books.

It is not a museum at all. It should be the Titanic museum. Even the Chris show was not organized, too many people in a small area and people in back can't see. Totally, it wasn't a good experience, there are many other sightseeing to visit which are much better.

I attended the museum as a daddy-daughter date with my two daughters. We were greated upon entering the museum by the front desk attendant. She gave us great service with a smile. We entered the exhibit hall and were drawn to the visual beauty of the exhibits. It was well laid out and educational. We sincerely and thoroughly enjoyed it. Job well done NGM.

The museum is a little small, but packed full of amazing artifacts and information. The Tomb of Christ and Titanic exhibits were on display during our visit. Amazing!! The Tomb of Christ featured an interactive 3D exhibit that was so cool. Because the museum is kinda small, I would suggest taking your time to walk through slowly and enjoy it all. We moved through faster than we would have if we knew there were only two main exhibits.

This is a great museum if you have kids. It's very interactive and have some nice displays. The only downside is that is very small (one floor of a huge building). It is nice that they have changing exhibits every few months. Didn't hate it but didn't love it.

Was Great rotating exhibits filled with multimedia and sensory experiences. We saw the Queens of Egypt exhibit and it was amazing. We enjoyed all of the displays. The 3D tomb tour was fabulous. The only negative inattentive staff in the gift shop. They were more interested in talking with each other than customers. All other staff were polite and helpful.

While off the strip, their museum is pretty great. The exhibit on Egyptian queens was really cool, and going across the courtyard to see past issues was an added treat. I'd highly recommend this on a bucket list stop on a DC itinerary.

Super cool, interesting and attractive, I was completely involved in the information, the curiosity and interest of that subject and the way in which Jane performed achieving a very good result with the changos transmitting that beautiful feeling of feeling part of the environment with that room of 3D. I congratulate the entire body of the museum and especially Jane for that wonderful attitude of protection and conservation of living species!

Not a great museum... it's very small , there are only two rooms. One room is a rotating exhibit which was "NatGeo Instagram" when I was there. Essentially they just printed out their Instagram photos and made sure to tell you how many likes each photo got. The other exhibit is a kids exhibit which is fun but doesn't tell you much. The best part is the gift shop.
