Great place. A bit more expensive than most resorts, but I'll likely go back.

Been only a few very minor things holding it back from its 5th star.
PS: left my wallet in the bar with a good chunk of change in it and the super chill long haired server we had returned it full earlier this year. Wish i remembered to catch his name.
Awesome trails for beginners, amazing backcountry for pros
My home away from home. The terrain is fun. The lifties are knowledgeable and professional. The Lodge has delicious food and amazing cocktails. The staff is always very helpful.
Pow is nice right now awesome stuff extremely fun trails to ride
Parking on the weekend stunk, cause we had to wait for a bus. But resort was nice and lines are fast even on the weekend.
Awesome location on the mountain. Beautiful views. Gets busy but not as bad as Skibowl
Everybody is super friendly and helpful.
Living locally here in Tigard, Mount Hood Meadows is a great ski resort so close to home.
It definitely offers enough variety in all skill levels for anyone to get solid days of skiing while keeping it fresh.
I was there a lot this past season since my daughter is on her high school ski team. EVERYONE there was always super-accommodating, helpful, and genuinely friendly.
If you can catch a day right after (or during:-)) a snow dumping then you re in for a treat.
We caught that a couple of times and it was pure gold.
LET IT SNOW!!!!
The summer view from the chair lift was nice, but not really worth the cost. One up top there's not much to do but hike down or take the lift back down.
Fun mountain, fairly big for the area. Certainly, the best day skiing of the Hood mountains!
$70 for snowboarding boots, pants and a helmet. $150 for two lift tickets. I easily spent over $300 here last Saturday and only got to do two runs down the slopes because it was ridiculously busy. Although I had fun, I just wish I hadn t spent that much money for 4 hours of lift time.
Restaurant employees provided horrendous customer service; if you can t handle working in the food industry and in a busy environment then get out the kitchen. Literally stood at the bar, and the bartender served the person behind us, then apologized because he assumed we had been helped. Lack of communication.
Honestly, pack your lunch and rent your gear before heading up to the mountain. Save you some money because this place is expensive for a four hour snowboarding trip.
Great service, good runs, and fair prices for this rather large ski resort on Mt. Hood. Definitely great for newbies to snow sports like me.
Have been going for 10 years and they have done a terrible job in managing parking. Bad infrastructure and little investment in comfort for its pass holders and visitors. Meadows is a terrible example of corporate greed. I will most likely stop purchasing a pass here.
Another important point is there are no transportation options from Sandy, Gresham, Welches and government camp. Leaving pass holders no options to arrive other than going back to portland or hood river which voids all interest of home owners and vacation goers staying on the Government camp side of the mountain; the closest lodging to mt hood...
If I tallied up the time I wait in traffic, for parking and at Meadows poorly equipped bar I could have gone to mt bachelor...
After being around for a long time I would imagine the organization capable but they are not.
Nice resort. They could better manage the bag storage, there were ski bags all over the place. It was nearly impossible to get a table because of all the bags even though there were not that many people in the lodge.
Great place for a ski or snowboard lesson at any age.
Amazing place, so beautiful and peaceful.. I had so much fun hiking
Purchased the spring pass this year at their NW Portland office. Incredible deal this year to enjoy my favorite ski resort but the store clerk informed me last day of operations was May 31st before I purchased. Bad on my part for not confirming beforehand but shouldn t they be providing accurate info?
In my youth I went here maybe 1000 times, time to ride again!
An awesome place to visit if you love snow and skiing.
Absolutely amazing staff. Always friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The slopes are well attended to with lots of variety and choices. Lift lines are short and move quickly. Another great day at Mt. Hood Meadows!
Decent ski resort, and many fun routes, but always crowded. Lots of crazy kids come here, so watch your back, coming down the slopes. Everytime I ski here, someone runs into me from behind. Also, they often have problems with their pass readers...
Great staff nice slopes everything is good as long as you like skiing and or boarding
I have been repeatedly given the impression that the staff of Mt. Hood Meadows does not care about personal property. A number of years ago I had a snowboard stolen from the racks at Meadows. Since then I have noticed no change in security (e.g. security cameras). This being the case I usually bring a lock for my non-pass holder friends to use at the racks outside, while I use ski check, so that we can secure our equipment.
On the last day of the regular season this year, I was on my last run of the day...the lifts had just shut down. Upon reaching the bottom and heading into the lodge, I observed that the racks were in the process of being put away. When I got closer that's when I noticed the rack where my friend's snowboard was, now gone...her snowboard was on the ground, and laying next to it was my broken lock. As you can imagine, I was upset by this...this is completely unacceptable. The snowboard was just left there to be stolen...the lodge was still open, there were still drinks being served, my friend was paying her bill at the bar. I complained to the concierge and sent messages to Meadows over social media...getting no response. Thus I am leaving this review so that others are aware of the practices I have observed.
Meadows can be hit or miss, but when it s good and not too crowded it is a helluva good time. The community and staff are rad and the runs are awesome for both skis and snowboard. It is a beautiful locale and only bittersweet when the crowds get too deep. Are sure you get up there when there is decent snow and on a weekday if you can
Great staff, awesome service, nice slopes. I just wish the beginners package hadn't sky-rocketed by 300% in like a year period. And the fast-food restaurants were like 2 times (that's 100%) more expensive than what you would normally pay.
Always epic and never disappointing. Fun for the whole family plus the pups. Great food, beer, people and of course snow. 2nd year with a season pass and I cannot get enough. Lodge gets crowded as with most popular resorts, we prefer to tailgate. Pow pow!!!
Like home away from home for me, been coming for 17 years now and I'm always happy.
Meadows is the best night riding I have ever done. Lots of terrain, even challenging terrain is under their lights or in the gullies if you dare. I rode there all day actually and the crowds were mellow and snow great. Parking lot was chill and the staff was friendly. There is a super fun line off hood express that has easily 70 side hits from top to bottom. Their trees are tight but fun to cruise and the mid mountain bar is a cool stop with good food.
Happy it was snowing when we went up. Sadly, the snow quickly turned into a full on blizzard. We could only ski down the mountain once. All in all, nice-looking spot. For a girl from California, who usually skis in a T-shirt, I was disappointed. But, of course, grateful for the experience.
Not a very good mountain. There's little no tree paths and it's never grooved well
Love hitting the untouched powder in between the treelines.
Meadows is, in my opinion the best spot on Mt Hood to ski. When they have all the lifts open you don't have much of a wait to get on the hill. They do a good job of taking care of the runs and marking the obstacles. The few times I have had a bad fall, ski patrol has been there quick to see if I was ok. Definitely get up to Meadows and hit the slopes.
I've skied here for 25 years. It's not a huge area, but it's by far the best Mount Hood has to offer. No overnight accommodations within 30 minutes, but for a day trip ski area, meadows is well worth the drive. Upper Heather Canyon is fantastic expert terrain (bring a buddy)
For night snowboarding, only 160$ is awesome. Lifts and other things are pretty good. I don t go to the lodge so I can t say anything about that area, but the mountain is great!!!
Mt. hood is the highest place, but seems to be the best
Overpriced. They never have the main lifts open to spread the crowd out. Vista, cascade, mhx, and Stadium should be running (weather permitting) at 9a.m. and ready to load ppl. I've shown up as early as 7. And the lift staff aren't working. If you enjoy standing in line instead of riding snow this is the place to be. If you enjoy throwing money away, this is the place to be. Waaaaay overpriced for the services provided.
Long lines, but good slopes and it's close to home. Do a late lunch and you can get some great riding midday.
Long lines. Shuttle needed because not enough parking which added long wait for Shuttle both ways. Over priced everything. $10 for a locker, etc. etc. Some staff VERY rude. Overheard parking lot staff yelling at customers. To top it off after a 2 hour wait to get rental gear I paid for lift ticket and gear for three skiers only to get to the counter to find out they were out of ski poles. Employee tried to convince me poles weren't a standard part of a rental package anyway. Been skiing many places worst experience ever.
More to explore and probably the best place to learn versus the four other lift accessed hills on the mountain. An excellent mix of terrain: great on and off groom. Wish the Mt Hood express stopped here, but that's my only gripe.
Even when crowded... lines aren't bad. Great runs. Great lodge!
Skiing wise meadows has the best terrain at Mt Hood. Steeper and longer runs and more varied terrain. Traffic is crazy on the weekends. Timberline has much flatter runs. The steep pitches are fewer and further in between. Skibowl has some of the steepest pitch's on their summit lift and no high-speed quads so the runs don't get tracked out as fast as meadows.
This is a back to basics ski / snowboard resort as far as the lodge and "feel", but the slopes are great and have a large variety of runs including tree options all over the place. They get good snow and if there's been a dump, make sure your vehicle is prepped with snows / chains to make it up there even if raining in Portland. The main parking lot can fill up when conditions are excellent, but there are two other lots. The ski pass is a good deal. Food pretty good, and base lodge while pretty no-frills does have bathrooms on the same level as the snow entrance! That's rare. They also have excellent skier services, with a big jug of sunblock for guests. Ski check available, good lifts, attendants helping sort loading lines, there's a lot to like. You won't be alone if you bring a lunch, frequent skiers/boarders who train there on various teams bring all sorts of food. There's even a couple microwaves for guest use to assist with warm lunches.
You'll need to pay attention to map and where you're going as its not hard to get off the intended route and end up on an adjacent lift. One time I took a route to a closed lift and had to shuttle back to main lodge.
Also, cell coverage is spotty. Typically your phone will try max-power to reach out and connect, and plus cold will drain battery by 2pm or sooner. Make plans to meet instead of relying on cells, or use airplane mode to conserve juice.
There's a small but happening bar / eats on mountain too, check that out.
The beginner area is busy but good slope pitch.
Beautiful place to snow ski in winter amazing staff and buildings. Incredible Meadows and hiking trails in summer. Love the events held on the deck
DISLOCATED MY SHOULDER there but the medics were amazing! The place looks amazing and it's fun to ride down all the hills. The only gripe that I have is the EXTREMELY LONG lines to get gear and purchase passes.
Great mountain. Even when it's at capacity, it doesn't feel too crowded.
The slopes and lifts are good, however, this is the most expensive resort and has terrible customer service. My wife was drinking alcohol in the restaurant while I went down the mountain and the waiter came over after 20 minuts and asked her to leave the restaurant because other people wanted to eat. Most places are OK with you staying there as long as you get alcohol. If you want service and good prices go to Timberline.
Friendly lifties, good powder, cheap night skiing. A nice break from the faceless corporate behemoth of Vail-owned resorts.
I came from Queens NY to visit my family who moved to Portland. Ive got a skiing background but ive always wanted to board. I went to Mt. Hood meadows to rent a board and boot package and get a group lesson. From the very onset of my experience i was impressed with how personable, friendly and helpful the staff was. I had my group lesson with Mak, she was a new-ish instructor at the mountain but man, did she teach me alot! Ive never snowboarded before and i was on the lift and boarding down buttercup a few hours after my group lesson by the end of my first day! On my second day i practiced what Mak taught me on the bunny hill for a few hours, then the rest of the day i spent taking some beautiful runs down the mountain, carving, transitioning, working my edges and having a blast! This mountain is awesome, the staff is terrific, the views are spectacular and i found it to be fairly priced!
Thanks so much for a great experience, ill be back a third time before i head back east! I always wanted to board and now i can go back east as a beginner, which feels really good. Im happy and grateful :)
Awesome skiing, beautiful mountain, perfect resort.
I liked it, I don't know if I will return but I enjoyed my walk, although I would have preferred that the areas (according to difficulty level) were marked or easy to identify.
Friendly staff, and very fast to serve people
No place like home. A wide variety of runs for different skill levels. Amazing views.
A good variety of runs and several lifts. Can get over crowded and lifts can get clogged. The lodge and facilities are very dated and tight, getting easily crowded and uncomfortable, especially at meal times.
Pretty expensive rentals, better off getting your own gear, good otherwise
Solid resort. Very clean and nice location. Trails could be a little better marked but that's about it.
On days like today where the sky is clear, woohoo amazing time on the mountain like usual
Loved the chairlift ride . Excellent view in the lap of nature
Great resort for skiing. Worst service ever in restaurants!! Very rude and careless attitudes must be a trend at this place because we have experienced it in all food service areas. Repair shop service was great! Wish there was another place to ski. Perhaps that is the reason for the careless attitudes abound!
Beautiful mountain in the wilderness of Oregon. It feels like you're on a snow island oasis in the middle of the forest. The amount of features that are offered here are fantastic.
