I've been a regular pass holder here for about 8 years, the terrain is great if you can get it on an uncrowded day. My problem is with general customer service around the lodge. I've had several run-ins with Bartenders, rental services, lift attendants and tune shop employees that could care less that I'm a season passholder and a regular local skiier. They act rude, refuse to offer any helpful assistance and have a very poor understanding of the how to operate their rfid lift systems. Im fed up with these stupid gets that don't open half the time. And yes I know how to keep my pass and my cell phone in different pockets. If you live in the gorge, it is the closest reasonable lift op area, but don't be fooled, they don't care about you as a customer, they know they have a good resource and they just want your money, and I wouldn't doubt that they get plenty of that.

I came from Texas to ski one day outside Portland. Even though it was a super wet day, the facility was great. Access was easy enough with the conditions, and we spent all day having a blast!

Not sure what I can say more than, this is a ski resort with lots of runs for intermediate skiers like me. Great place when you have a full day to kill. Your best bet is to go during the week right after there's some rain in Portland -- fewer people, but the lifts run just as fast.

My Partner and I came out here from Southern Oregon, and while he is a fairly adept Snowboarder, I am not.
Having said that, I was THRILLED to see how well equipped this mountain is for beginners. This was my second time out, ever, and I took a group adult lesson and the difference between this and my first experience was night and day. Jonah was incredibly helpful, clear, patient, and positive. We had a group of 4 and it seemed all of us felt the same way. By the end of it we all made our way down the "bunny hill" and I felt 100x better and more excited about this sport.
My guy also found this spot the more enjoyable of the 2 (vs timberline). While it was windy, he said he felt the options and slopes themselves were still more enjoyable.
Go here, ESPECIALLY if you're a beginner!

Holy Guacamole pardner! What a ski resort. What an ever-loving FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC ski resort. Place blew my mind, in a way I didn't think it was possible. I used to think ski resorts were all the same, believe you me, I have been schooled. Catch you on the flip side, Bob Peters

Beautiful day at the meadows. Only my second time here and its definitely not Colorado powder but it has a vibe all it's own. The morning was icy but the sun came out and softened everything up nicely. If you have a chance to go up on a weekday do it!! No lift lines!! I'll definitely be back for a powder day

20 yr Meadow's veteran who doesn't much care for the new Blackout Days for season pass holders. The $100 + a day tickets prices that fluctuates to a Higher price when it snows. The restaurant quality has Declined but their prices have Increased, their well drinks and beer are extremely over priced and the employees are by far... the rudest and least knowledgeable on the mountain.

The facility is not bad, most employees are very nice. However, something happened today made me feel really upset as a long time customer. The story is that when we purchased the progression beginner one day pass plus rental at the rental shop, the lady working there told us after the end of your skiing, we could go to concierge and purchased a spring progression season pass and got $123 my wife spent on the day pass and rental applied towards the cost of the season pass. We were very happy and purchased the two and thought maybe we should buy the season pass right now at the concierge. We went to the concierge, and the lady staff over there told us she can do exactly what the other said, however, since it was only 12:45 then, if we purchased the season pass that we would have to wait until 3pm to begin. She was very nice and told us to go ski first and come back to buy the season pass after we are done for the day.
Here comes the surprise part, when we came back to the concierge desk to fulfill that purchase. The previous lady might have finished her shift and there was a young female manager greeting us, however, told us that is not the case that she is not going to honor the previous promise made by two of her colleagues. She said none of any dollar we spent today can goes towards into season pass purchase even after I told her the whole story. I didn t want to make a scene but I just felt really upset that the company can t hold on its promise to its customers. She went back into her office for 5 minutes, apparently calling her superior and coming back told me that they can give me a $10 coupon. How disappointing and disrespectful. She eventually agreed to put the price difference between beginner day pass and night pass ($47) store credit into the card. This is less than what is just but I m tired of arguments and wasting my time and other customer s time. On my way out, another customer was giving me a thumb up while I also saw a security guard with his right hand on his sidearm not far away from me. Whoa, she must have called the security guard. Not sure what will happen if I did not accept the 1/3 way resolution. In the meantime, I have also heard other customers complaining about the same thing. Obviously, I was not the only one being falsely promised about the special. I just feel like as a large company, you have to keep your promise to your customers. Two staffs telling you one thing then one manager tells you sorry that is not true, and an armed security guard stopping by, this is not acceptable at all. This is a truly unpleasant experience and I hope you guys can make it right and make sure it won t happen again. Thanks.

Meadows was the first place I ever did any snow recreation, and it definitely made it fun, enjoyable and memorable! They had a great beginner package with incredibly nice and knowledgeable employees to assist me. I took lessons as well, and my instructor Colin Wilson was really patient and great! I loved it and am already planning my next trip to the mountain.

Meadows has a nice setup for lessons. Discounted lift ticket and equipment rental along with your lesson. I was basically a beginner, having not been on skis for 20 years, and only once back then. By the end of the 2 hour lesson I could control my speed and direction reasonably well on green runs. Now I can ski to my son's snowboard competition areas. Beautiful location and lots of terrain. Well maintained and modern chair lifts.

This is my 4th season and 1st season in the PNW. Meadows has been great thus far. Basically every kind of terrain with some great park features in-between. So far no crazy long runs but super varied ones so still fun. Also pretty family friendly with staff and practice areas. No gondola though, so be prepared to exit the chair properly :)

We went snowboarding and skiing here for the first time in a few years, what a beautiful place. Lines aren't bad, prices were fair, and the mountain is gorgeous. Staff around were friendly, we had a wonderful time.

Great ski resort with many runs with a diverse distribution of skill levels. With multiple food options you can get a more sit down style or grab and go/fast food.

Also, night skiing is really good and there are runs for all skill levels lit.

I'd recommend weekday visits as the main lift can get a long line with wait times towards 30 minutes

great place, but my review serves more as a warning/awareness:
1. night pass from 3-9 is only $35 and the runs are super well lit, definitely worth saving the extra money from a day pay + less traffic and shorter lift lines.
2. if you re caught with someone else s pass, it s a $140 fine (for each party involved) and you ll be asked to leave for trespassing .
important to read the fine print folks, I ve seen it happen.

Great place for families. The mountain wasn t too crowded or overrun with tourists (like us ). They had an amazing daycare for the little ones, we felt totally comfortable leaving our 2 year old in their care. The kids snowboarding instructors were great, our 6 year old was comfortable on a board after just one morning of lessons. Rental gear was in good shape and reasonably priced. Two restaurants on site, we liked the atmosphere of the one with waitstaff and the kids loved the hot chocolate and leather lounge chairs. Overall the staff was helpful and friendly. We are looking forward to returning!

Best Ski Area on Mt Hood, terrain for all skill levels from Beginner to 2X Black Diamonds. Lots of lift capacity means minimal lines most of the time. Upper lifts and Heather canyon subject to weather/avalanche closures we which can impact lifelines elsewhere. THE place to ski near Portland!

It was my first time ever being on a mountain and the weather was phenomenal. Great place to learn how to ski and snowboard for the first time. Prices are reasonable and they have good eats there. It was super bright there I definitely should ve brought glasses lol
