Professionals, who know what they have in house and who you can contact with questions about different themes. They then always know how to designate an appropriate book.

The store offers a huge amount, and that means you have plenty of choice. Sometimes it feels a bit tight when a lot of customers come in. Second-hand is unfortunately incredibly expensive, but that applies pretty much to all second-hand books in Utrecht. And I advise customers to look at the Vredeburgmarkt (only 1 trader) or search elsewhere in the country.

Eldorado! Large enough and well equipped to roam and get lost books. And .... unusual but true, good and ample shopping staff to support your search.

Excellent store, friendly people. Free wifi. And lots of books. Don't mind the queue when you buy stuff, the people work very slow but it's nice to see a bookstore make actual money.

A Valhalla for those who like to read. And cooks ... we always stick to the cookbooks department. -;)

Great bookstore. I don't have to go there too often, because every time I walk away with a bag full of books. Great collection of psychology. But also science in addition to religion and esotericism. Good sense of humor.

The only major bookstore in Utrecht. As a bookstore should be. They have (everything)! From literature to travel book, from management book to comic. Literature is the specialty, other specialist shops are recommended.

Best book store in town. Also features lots of English language books. Bought (yet another) Lonely Planet guide here this morning. There's a discount in Lonely Planet guides of 20% is you but them here on Saturday mornings in July and August :).

Old, trusted bookstore that has all the mainstream stuff, and more. Specialized in gifts. I go here once in a while to browse and see what's bestselling at the moment. Friendly employees. One of the holy trinity of book stores in Utrecht, the others being Bijleveld (Janskerkhof) and Blunder (Oudegracht). Also a very fitting place for romantic encounters of the more classical variety.

Great store, lots of choice, good staff. But the best part is that it is so nice and central that you can browse through the books that you want to take with you! Delicious!
