Good terrain, great ski school, archaic and poorly run customer service operations. It took 5 employees 15 minutes after I had already paid to put a brat on a bun at the base area grill. The lift ticket check-in was 25 min with 7 people in line in front of me. Long bus lines, no lift line ropes until right in front of the RFID check. At the end of the day, my daughter wanted a sticker, and the 2 sticker was $6.95. The simple things bring people back. COO, please walk a day in your customer s shoes to find these clear opportunities to make a good mtn great.

A great place to go snowboarding and skiing. Always fun to go and theres lessons for beginners. Food is always good and the customer service is very strong. I definitely go every weekend and love the snow there. The powder days are great and fun. The parking lots do get full when its busy, but it works out in the end. Definitely check it out if you haven't.

Two snowboarders died in the same area of your resort over the weekend, one being my friend. I would like a response to the safety measures you are taking in Heather Canyon and seriously consider if you are doing enough to protect our loved ones. We need answers and actions immediately.

First lessons for my 5 year old and couldn t ask for better people. They immediately connected with my son and he had a blast. My husband and went snowshoeing while he was in class. Great fun but the trails were not well marked so we got lost. Best Bloody Mary BTW.

I would like to break up my rating into categories...

I would like to break up my rating into categories.

SKI SCHOOL= 1 star because of slow pace of organizing, assessing, getting to the lift, lines at the lift and more assessing before finally getting to the part where the instructor is giving an actual lesson. The investment of a 2 hour lesson for 20 minutes of useful instruction is not a good ratio. The instructors= 4 stars (two lessons by two instructors of 2 hours each) were very good. I would give 5 stars if they could have moved the pace along faster.

SOUTH SIDE PASS= 5 stars for value. I would give 6 out of 5 because the value is that good. The South Side pass includes rentals. We bring our own food that we heat for free in the microwave and eat in the common eating area. Got to watch football on the TV while we rested up. Each trip costs us just gas money, insurance on the skis (4 bucks each) food we bring and a hotel in Hood River if we choose to stay the night. Best. Deal. Ever. Did I mention it also includes the rentals?
Speaking of rentals...

RENTAL SERVICE=4 stars. I would give 5 because of quality of customer service, but here is the thing: The rental area needs a better system for how to direct traffic and how to move more people through faster. There are lockers in the rental area. People who have rented lockers there need to pass through the rental line to get to their lockers. This creates confusion and blurs the line for who is in line and who is passing through, leading to line cutting and confusion. There are no arrows for pathways, no signs to explain the process of renting, no people in charge to direct the public. It is almost great, but can be a disaster if you don't know what you are doing. We have developed a system that takes rental time from two hours down to just over 30 minutes by knowing the system and working it. Great for us, but not so good for other tourists who are there for the first time.

THE SLOPES AND LIFTS: 5 stars. Word to the wise: Avoid the Buttercup lift. Use Daisy. Buttercup is used by the schools and is backed up horribly. Daisy avoids the backup and you can get to the same upper lifts by using Daisy. I have never seen a line at Daisy. Vista is fast and has great views, hence the name. Bring your camera! Easy Rider is awesome...the slopes are fantastic.

MT HOOD HOSPITAL= 5 stars. We had our share of falls, and out of concern we went to the onsite hospital. Fully staffed, all the needed equipment, professional and they offered first aid for free! We opted for a consult with the Dr. and x-ray. Our insurance treated it as an urgent care visit and covered it all.

THE LODGE= 5 stars. All the gear you need, great customer service in all the shops, enough seating to handle everyone on a very busy weekend, clean restrooms with lockers and a dryer to dry your wet gear. I do suggest getting more dryers as they are in constant use. In fact, a laundry would be pretty awesome somewhere onsite to wash coats ect so they are fresh after a long lunch.

In conclusion, I suggest a visitor be proactive in asking questions and challenging employees to make sure you are in the right place for what you need early and often. This will save you time and frustration. I suggest the lodge make some signs that explain the rental process at each station and paint arrows on the floor to direct traffic. Put in at least two more manned rental stations to handle peak traffic. There is room. Two more ski outfit stations as well.

I m a big believer in issues will arise and it s how you respond that matters which is why it s a 4 star review. That being said I almost left before I started.

The ladies at ski school check in on Monday morning made it pretty clear that they had zero desire to help, at all. I m pretty sure she never even made eye contact. I m paying for a private lesson, and am excited for my family to
learn to ski, come on pretend you care. Made it to rentals and they were great, friendly, knowledgeable and encouraging to my kids who ve never skied before. Turned around the experience and my wife s perception who was about ready to walk after check in. So 10 minutes prior to our lesson we found ourselves outside waiting, and waiting, and you guessed it....waiting for Ted who never showed. What I can tell you is another guy shows up around 9:15 as my wife is downstairs trying to work with the ski school, office of little help, and realizes something is up. He stops what he is doing, apologizies for the mixup and begins teaching us the basics while he coordinates a new instructor. It s that kind of treatment that makes a difference and hopefully he can pass that on to his staff. The new instructor was fine and we had a good time after 3 hours of private instruction we broke for lunch and after practicing a little more were able to get 3 of the 4 of us onto the first level green runs. None of us had previous experience. Great job to the rental team for saving the day and for the guy who stopped what he was doing to make it right. Ski school admin staff, just fake it if your really that miserable.

Travis or Tyler maybe

All the parking lots were full today, they oversold tickets we bought online for today. Many people were also turning around. When we asked what the options were, we were told to wait a few hrs. Will not refund the ticket, just credit. Waste of time and money. Bad experience..

Great terrain. Lodge services are top quality. Most lifts are high speed quads. What more can you ask for? Oh yeah, snow!!!! Mt Hood usually gets over 10 feet of snowpack every season. Dry powder snow days are there. But, it's mostly sunny or marine snow(wet). I'll take it over any other place on Earth.

Very well organized kids program. Biggest resort on Mt Hood with the most terrain. Staff are top notch- they really go above and beyond. The only thing holding Meadows back are the crowds. Go during off hours if possible-- soooo many people on the weekends.

ZERO STARS! MHM has hit a new low. Not only was Cascade closed for weather standby, but so was their "NEW" high speed quad aka the old yellow, or Stadium. At 10:30am blues skies with MILD winds graced the mountain and some how Meadows couldn't open Cascade, oh that's right, it was a week day. What a joke, MHM your the biggest joke in the PNW, no- anywhere I've ever skied. For 15 yrs you have continuously held lifts closed on week days only to open them in worst conditions on weekends. You're a joke, but today was actually unbelievable, each ride up vista proved it. Mild winds and visibility to the top.

It was opening day of the season and I expected it to be terribly crowded as Meadows typically is. It was not. I was super impressed with how efficient their employees were at parking people and getting people up on the lists. Everyone there was in good spirits for the most part. They even managed to have three full snow board Parks built on opening day with only 30 in of snow. Everything was perfectly shaped and the flow was really nice to each one of the parks. Meadows is killing it and I'm so glad I decided to get a past there this winter as I typically ride it Timberline.

Good terrain and decent facilities but customer services tends to lack time after time. Lift operators are okay, but overall seems to be under staffed. Lodge can get very overwhelming on busy days. Lift lines could be managed better. I enjoy coming here, but not sure if I will be buying a season pass again next year.

Lots of fun when the snow is right. Pro tip: bring a lunch to eat at the car. Both restaurants are slow. Slow to get a seat, slow to get order taken, slow to get food, slow to get check, and slow to take your card. Next thing you know it took you an hour and a half to eat lunch.

Good skiing, poorly operated. Excellent spring skiing but close the patio down way before people are ready to leave. The bartender woman is lame and rude, I want to be nice but she sucks. Several interactions over the season and she is always bad, not just to me.

Went this morning for my first snowboarding lesson. We arrived at 8:45 for my 10:00am lesson, but the lines were so backed up that I didn t even have my snowboard rental until close to 10:30. Then, the boot rental folks had forgotten to give me my lift ticket/lesson pass. After someone told me that they were starting another class at 10:30 I was relieved, but then that class ended at noon. So, basically I paid the same amount for a 2 hour class but only received 90 minutes. By the end of my lesson, I felt like I hadn t learned a thing. I was so frustrated at that point that we just left. I m so upset because it s not like these lessons are cheap. What was supposed to be a fun day on the mountain turned into a nightmare that consisted mostly of standing in line.

Sadistic staff. They changed the easy-difficult signs so that we were stuck on difficult slopes with little ones, trying to inch our way down. The worst thing was at night on our last run, the easy slope had been closed without them telling us at the bottom so we had to be snowmobiled down one at a time. They took my 7-yr-old son somewhere else so when I got to the bottom, he wasn't there and they told me they didn't know where he was. As any mother could tell you, that is terrifying. They finally brought him back but it was a traumatizing experience. This place is terrible.

Overcrowded, Food is often 5050 sometimes it's unedible, sometimes it's ok. Once got completely raw chicken, don't believe me ask and I'll add pics, they replaced it but thats the norm. Recently got eggs with what seemed to be burnt parts of the pan idk, eggs have never looked like that anywhere else tho.

As for skiing well if the conditions are good its ok, otherwise not great. Although what options do we really have in Oregon. Ski patrol are cool here, hosts are usually not. Once got yelled at for skiing while in a phone call still not sure why. If there were any other resorts with lots of terrain I'd go there but this is what we got.

I made the season pass this year and I am really disappointed. I paid 600 $ and I have to struggle every time for find a parking place! At 9 in the morning the parking is already full and you can t take any type of transportation because they don t allowed busses to get there, they are exclusive . If they make people pay 600$ for a season pass they should at least have parking for who paid that much!!
I love snowboard at mt Hood but I will never make a season pass at Meadows again.
Maybe they don t consider that people arrive from Government Camp as well and not only from Portland and Hood River!Terrible services for what we paid.
At least Timberline allowed buses to bring people up.

Great place to ski, very friendly! Best deal for new skiers is a lesson, rental, and upgrade the progressive skilift pass. If you like skiing, upgrade your one day pass to a spring pass for 79! Thats almost as much as a daily lift ticket! Good deals all around, and great selection and variety of runs and lifts. I bought my family used equipment there too.

We absolutely love Mt. Hood Meadows. Their beginners hill is perfect for the little ones to learn on. They have great programs for kids. Sno-blasters was particularly great. The staff is always friendly. The mountain is very well managed with plenty of terrain for all types of skill levels. The snow parks vary from beginner to expert and are always in excellent shape. The Zoo park is just perfect to learn ride rails and the jumps are awesome. The dining experience is great. It can get full very fast on the weekends so be prepared to take an early lunch (get there by 10:45) or a late lunch. The food in Alpenstube restaurant is delicious and well presented. One of our favorite food is the Pastrami Ruben - by far their best sandwich! Their Meadow burger is very good too. They serve burgers and sandwiches with crosscut fries or you can opt for their delicious salad. They have a great selection of beers on tap as well as mixed drinks from the bar. When the weather is nice, there is outdoor seating available too.

My husband and I have spent every snowboard season...

My husband and I have spent every snowboard season together at Meadows every year since we started dating, so it was an easy choice when deciding on locations for our wedding reception (we had an off-site ceremony/elopement). We had our reception in the Vertical North banquet hall on the top.floor. The hostess, Susan, and the rest of the staff & servers were incredible and extremely attentive to us and all of our guests throughout the entire night. They made sure that we did not have to worry about anything and that everything flowed smoothly, from cocktail hair, to dinner, and throughout the entire reception. They were professional and friendly, and in the instance of a few mishaps with some of the little ones, they were quick to help clean up messes (including our kids) after some hot cocoa spills, without anyone even having to ask. The food was incredible, and we even had a complimentary private food & wine tasting with the chef prior to our wedding day, which was a blast! Again, we did not have our ceremony here, so I cannot speak to that portion, but I would recommend anyone considering a wedding on the mountain to consider them!

Great, (beginner to expert) Terrain, great and friendly staff, great (reasonably priced) drinks at the bar, amazing food with big windows to veiw the mountain and events. From what I've been told, the 7 terrain parks are amazing and also cater from beginner to expert including a SUPER pipe open to public after events. Tons of events to include yourself in, watch, or just catch a glimpse of as your riding the lift up. Not to mention the hiking, Scenic chair rides and mountain biking they have over the summer.

Gets really crowded on MLK and Presidents day weekends, but otherwise it's an awesome place.
Edit: The owner responded, so I feel like I have to add more data. I love Meadows, and my 6 yr old wants to come up here all the time (and the 4 yr old is coming soon). The views are amazing, there is a lot of runs, and you can find something to suit your skill level easily. The last couple of years though, it feels like the place is just inundated on MLK and President's day weekends. They need more infrastructure, or some way of limiting the crowds on those days.

Easily my favorite place to ski at Mt. Hood. There are good steeps when open but you often have to deal with the High winds of Mt. Hood. The high chair lifts should leave you with plenty of snow for spring and early summer skiing.

I spent 91.00 for a lift ticket and the majority of the day they only had Mt Hood Meadows express chair open. What is wrong with this picture....

I won't be coming back. It was Thursday and I had to wait in long lines some of the time for this only chair. Gets boring doing the same runs!
