I came from Queens NY to visit my family who moved to Portland. Ive got a skiing background but ive always wanted to board. I went to Mt. Hood meadows to rent a board and boot package and get a group lesson. From the very onset of my experience i was impressed with how personable, friendly and helpful the staff was. I had my group lesson with Mak, she was a new-ish instructor at the mountain but man, did she teach me alot! Ive never snowboarded before and i was on the lift and boarding down buttercup a few hours after my group lesson by the end of my first day! On my second day i practiced what Mak taught me on the bunny hill for a few hours, then the rest of the day i spent taking some beautiful runs down the mountain, carving, transitioning, working my edges and having a blast! This mountain is awesome, the staff is terrific, the views are spectacular and i found it to be fairly priced!
Thanks so much for a great experience, ill be back a third time before i head back east! I always wanted to board and now i can go back east as a beginner, which feels really good. Im happy and grateful :)
