The emergency department saved my daughter s life. I will forever be so grateful for the prompt service and the knowledge of the doctors and nurses. We were treated with love and compassion which our family will not forget. Thank you.
This place has gotten alot worse threw the years. Employees from the security guard out front to the horrible er nurses. Rude and very disrespectful. I understand with covid people can be on edge specially because of stupid over baring rules but they have very little manners and are cruel. This place needs to either be shut down or revamped to make sure the staff are better suited to care for patients and there family.i will NEVER go back
I was in room 108A for three days, and I received the best help from the staff on that floor. Couldn't ask for any better staff members that cared for your needs. Thank you most of all Ms.Bailey, can't figure out where or how to post a picture.
I have yet to have an enjoyable experience with this place. If you're not actively dying, go into salt lake.
We recently went to the MWMC emergency room and came away impressed with the staff, facility, and how quickly we were able to be treated and discharged.
From the security officer on duty, to the attending office staff, nurses, and physicians, we were treated with kindness and efficiency by true professionals in every sense of the word.
We also returned a few days later for a minor surgical procedure and experienced the same professionalism we had seen prior. Check in was easy, we didn't have to wait very long to be admitted to pre-op, the surgeon was very friendly and knowledgeable. Communication was transparent and clear. Again, the staff, nurses, and physicians were great.
I have visited Mountain West Medical Center MANY times, and for many reasons. Each and every time has been positive. In fact the last few times have been exceptional. We had the option of going to a major hospital in Salt Lake, and staying in Tooele. It was no contest. Having had experiences at both, we MUCH prefer the quiet atmosphere and quality of care here. We also appreciate the discount we receive when we pay up front. Price-wise, there is no comparison. Add to that the benefit of being close to home. We will always support our local hospital, Mountain West Medical Center.
The visit was fine. Called today (Feb 27) to pay the bill in full and found out that "policy" just did away with those as of Monday (Feb 24). So FOR FUTURE REFERENCE they no long offer discounts if you are lucky enough to do so.
The women s center was amazing. We had the privilege of having our baby there. The nurses were awesome. They treated us exceptionally well. And definitely knew their stuff. Very professional but personable at the same time. Now I joke that I might dive past them if I m having a heart attack but would definitely have another baby there. And will recommend it to others. Thanks staff, it was a great experience.
Need some help after hours. Went to MEDICAL West ER had excellent care from outside the ER to the person who checked me in to the nurse to the doctor everything was just great. They were polite gracious asked us if we need everything at every corner.
The nurses and other staff have always been nice whether I am there for a procedure, a surgery at visiting another patient. I like small hospirals. As long as they have the equipment and knowledge to treat me or my family I will continue to use this hospital.
Everyone at the hospital is kind, personable, and works hard to give patients great care.
11:45 at night and my sister gets burnt, front reception was incredibly rude during a time of distress.
My poor sister got third degree burns on her forearm, they complained about us switching out visitors, we all had masks and not a single Covid symptom.
I could hear my sister crying from behind the closed door and they want to complain about switching out a visitor? Get bent
The ladies upfront continue to look up front and point at us while gossiping, Can you get any more unprofessional? Appalling.
Train your reception to be kind, even if we aren't patients. My terrified sister almost had to be alone while suffering from a severe burn because the lady upfront had to be incredibly rude.
Hire better people.
This hospital is a joke. I have had nothing but problems there. You guys need to have some meetings so you all are on the same page. Right now Iam driving a hour to just get my son's nose sucked out because mountain West can t get their info right.
I didn't have an expereriene there but my dad did and I am very thankful for the help they could provide for him. My best friends mom works there and she is super nice if I could I would rate it 53 stars.
Wish I could give negative stars to this place. My 60 year old stepfather went there for pneumonia, which at that age is deadly. They took him into a room and put him in a bed but then realized they were out of rooms.so they called us to go get him and left him in a bed in the hallway. No one gave him anything! Nothing not even water or medicine, nothing. And left him alone in the hallway. They wouldn t even give us assistance to get him in the car. The staff is so rude. I m really disappointed in this place
Their ER dept. billing is a freaking joke!! The Hospitals will bill you and then the physician that you saw will bill you too. The hospital had all my correct information, billed my insurance and billed me. Magically the physicians billing office had non of this. Only found out of the separate bill when a collection agency contacted me. This has been a nightmare to deal with. They finally billed my insurance and received payment from them but wont take it out of collections until paid in full but wont send me a bill until its out of collections. Does that sound right to you?? I am 25 weeks pregnant and don't have the luxury of being able to go into salt lake. Dreading the billing department nightmare I will have to deal with once I have the baby.
My mother and father nearly died in the care of this hospital, at separate times of course. If they wouldn t have been rushed to the Murray hospital they would have died. Also I got 8 stitches from this hospital 7 months ago and it cost me $2400 out of pocket with insurance. One of the doctors there is being investigated for billing fraud and will have his license revoked. Do not go to this hospital ESPECIALLY if it s life threatening! If you do you will see what I mean. This hospital is a primary example of what is wrong with our health care. You have a duty to be upfront and honest, yet you got caught lying on a recording!! Good luck lying doctors!!!
Tooele Hospital, is a proffesional ,excellent hospital and I am frequently there with a chronic medical condition I have. The med surf staff of nurses are kind and helpful, and very qualified. The Doctors ,for the most part are wonderful and kind ,professional,and knowledgeable. Dr. Ronald Trudel, and Dr. Kelly Beams are extremely smart and two terrific doctors. Dr. Carlson. As a new doctor on staff as well is a new Dr. that has a foot and ankle practice in Stansbury and is excellent as well. These doctors have and do take extremely good care of me and I will continue my care with them.Thanks so much to all of you . Especially Doctor Trudel and Dr Carlson you are extremely wonderful and I trust you to care for me and my loved ones.
What s the point in test after test with no results. Complain you want pateints to stay and rest be able to relaxe but your staff walks in constantly poking and prioding. You run the same tests over and over. Seems like one staff says one thing the next says no that's wrong to do complete opposite? This place is messed up. I can't believe this guy is even allowed to use needles for real who stands there poking someone in the dark then when you say you can turn the light on he says oh yeah that might be a good idea as he walks around like his heads been cut off looking for the light switch. Wow what a joke 16 hours later still no answer what's the test for if none of them work or do anything???
I recently had an outpatient surgical procedure done and was overwhelmed by the compassion and knowledge of the OR staff at Mountain West Medical Center. The staff was friendly, courteous, and most importantly knowledgeable. We are blessed to have such a wonder health care facility in our community. Why would anyone drive to SLC for care when we have great care right here in our own town.
My daughter had ankle surgery that was done by Dr. Jeffrey Carlson. We had an excellent experience from top to bottom. Her nurse Ben in med surg I believe was so nice and kind and treated my daughter with such respect and was what a nurse really should be. Dr. Carlson is an excellent foot and ankle doctor and I highly recommend him. Everyone was efficient, kind and knowledgeable. Thank you for being here mountain West I appreciate you all!

Worst hospital ever waited 2hrs to see a doctor!! No nurse checked in on us way we waited!!? All stood at the desk talking.
If I could this would be negative 10. This is my 3rd time with this hospital, staff is super rude and they don't solve the medical issue. In fact the doctor called and asked what she should do for my elderly mother who fell and was not responding well. So will be going to a different hospital I mean what kind of doctor calls and askes for advice on how to treat medical patients. Maybe a lawyer or someone should be looking into this hospital.
I normally avoid hospitals, however after hours you have little choice. My daughter needed a stomach ultrasound due to pain issues so after 2 hours of waiting we get a 15 minute service. We were told that since we were on a HSA high deductible plan that we would get a 50% discount if we paid upfront. We were told that the cost was $800.00 and we paid the $400.00. We just received a bill stating that we still owed $1000.00. The hospital explained that the original number was just an estimate. I have had CT scans at imaging centers that can tell me exactly what I need to pay based on my insurance. I will happily drive my family to a hospital in the Salt Lake Valley over going to this incompetent facility.
Within 24 hours of posting the above, a representative from the hospital called my wife and stated that they are retraining their billing staff and are sorry for the misunderstanding. The representative also refunded the additional payment. My wife corrected me on the wait time that was actually 2 hours, not the 4 that I had originally posted. I have changed my 1 star to 2 stars as they seem to want to mend their ways and improve their image. My concern is that had we not written the review we would have been out the extra payment and can't help but think that there are others who may have paid and not written a review and therefore not had their bills fixed. Hopefully things can get better.

I went to the ER with abdominal pain 10 days after having a baby (not at this hospital, thank goodness). Because of where the pain was, they said they wanted to remove my gall bladder because that is a common problem with women who have been pregnant or have had babies and because that s where your gall bladder is. True, yes, most of the time anyway. I guess they forgot that after having a baby, EVERYTHING in your abdomen is there. Anyway, they still wanted to take it out even after all the tests they did on my gall bladder said there was nothing wrong with it. My husband decided we were going for a 2nd opinion and we went into Salt Lake where we found out that it wasn t my gall bladder at all. It was my appendix...and in the 30 hours I spent at MWMC with them deciding that they were going to take out my gall bladder, it had ruptured so severely that the other surgeon had to take out part of my large intestine as well because it was so abscessed. So instead of my appendectomy being a 20 minute procedure, it took 1 1/2 hours and I still spent 4 days in the hospital, a month on crazy antibiotics, and 3 weeks with a drain hanging out of my belly. And like so many of the other complaints here, the bill I got from MWMC was slightly less than the hospital that actually did the surgery and post-surgical care.
Stay away from Mountain West. They are the highest charging hospital. went for a MRI scan they wanted $1,700.00 dollars to do it. I opted not to have it done and called an imaging center across the street to see what they would charge me, the price there was $270.00. Do your research before going to Mountain West.
I just had a hysterectomy with Dr. Lazernick and it was such a good experience! The nursing staff were amazing, they were extremely helpful and easy to talk to. They were prompt anytime I needed them and they answered all of my questions without hesitation. I am so grateful for the experience that I had. Thank you Dr. Lazernick and the Mountain West staff!
The emergency room at this hospital is by far one of the worst. The doctors here have terrible bedside manner, and the nurses do not know how to do their job. I was stuck 5 times before they could even get a vein on me and I myself am an RN and by the 5th poke I had to guide them, after telling them which vein I preferred. I had a bunch of labs and CT done, along with pain and nausea medications given to me. The nurse did not inform me of any medication that was going to be given to me, I am highly allergic to morphine and she was very close to giving it to me. I had to ask her to tell me, if not I probably would have had a terrible reaction and would've had hives all over my body. after all of that was done, the physician NEvER came back in to see me and explain anything to me. The nurse simply came back in and said "here are your discharge instructions, and good luck" . I have never had such a terrible experience with a physician in my life. They have ZERO sympathy, and I had ZERO pain relief. If you need to be seen in an emergency room, stay away from this place. It is worth the drive for you to head to IMC or the University of Utah hospital. I hope no one ever has to experience what I went through.

I have never dealt with a more money hungry hospital in my life. This place is unreal, they have the worst billing system when they finally get around to letting you know that you owe any money they expect that you pay it right now. I have had 3 different experiences with this. Got the bill what was owed after insurance paid. 4 days latter started getting collection calls no joke. Upon explaining this to the caller they said payment is expected at the time of service. Well then I guess they should of told me what there outrageous price was!! By the was the bill in question was for a lab test. I had the same test done at Labcorp and owed $15.00 I owed $135.00 to Mountain West Lab. I also owed $40.00 additional to the clinic and was never sent the bill just got the call from the collection company, all this in less than 6 months of dealing with them. I also payed them a copay each visit. It's no wonder all of the Good doctors are leaving in droves. I will be joining them. I personally find that seeking care somewhere where I am treated like I am a customer and not a $ sign is what is best for me and my family.

I don't understand why these "nurses" and "doctors" paid thousands of dollars for school to tell you NOTHING. Oh your puking up blood, they will send you home with UTI medicine. Welcome to Tooele county.
Terrible. I went to get tested for COVID and the doctor left me one message telling me to call him for the results, which he could have told me in the message. Instead he has me call the main line, which has no operator and a MYRIAD of different departments to go to. NOT COOL.

I was induced on Jan 9, 2019 and from the moment I went in I felt like I was in good hands. The nurses went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable and had what I needed.
The doctors and anesthesia were great and caring. Even the food was delicious!
I appreciate everyone who made our stay so enjoyable and made it a safe place for me to deliver.
Visiting my mother in the ICU for her COPD I met several staff that were kind, knowledgeable, respectful, accommodating, communicative, and amazing at their job in patient care. The facilities are clean. The parking lot is usually empty and close to the entrance. Most of all the staff go above and beyond and I am thankful for everyone who cared for my mother.
I was admitted today in the E.D. My experience with Brian the nurse and the rest of H.C. providers was really good and from here I send them my appreciations. But the M.D. taking care of me never showed up inside my room and just stopped by the outside and from there he made me some comments about my medical condition.
I'm a retired H.C. provider and this is not a good physician-patient reliable relationship in my experience.
Do not go here if you can help it. If you can please go to salt lake hospitals this place is a joke there emt's took a concious person against there will when she clearly said no. They are worthless thieves my girl had a seizure and they wanted to do an x ray and the necklace she had was never returned they claimed they stuck it back in her pants and was never seen again. The doctor was an ignorant prick who could not provide any evidence of what he claimed was the problem and did nothing to help her. Please if you can avoid this hospital at all costs this is not a place you can expect any sort of help and won't come back with everything you went in with.
If at all possible, do not go here. They constantly lose records. They will not give you records on the weekend. They do very little to help with solving health issues and charg and arm and leg. The office and the people that are in the emergency room keeping records and documents are very lazy. My wife signed a HIPAA so I could pick up some test results for her. The front desk told me they do not know how to look up the record of the HIPAA agreement, and also told me that they do not have any access to records on the weekends. In my opinion, they were lying and were being lazy. They could of easily found someone that knew how to look up hips and test results. There billing department fails to send a bill to you The billing department like to send the bill directly to collections. There are many more reasons for why this is a last resort medical facility, but I am not going to waist any more of my time. I hope this hospital has a big chang in staff and management. Also, for those of you that dont know, this facility is going through a joint bankruptcy with other facilities throughout the nation. Good luck getting quality care for here.
Was told my chart was being flagged for going there twice in two weeks because of a popping noise and severe pain in my ankle. They gave me pain meds and sent me home saying nothing was wrong and I should see my doctor. Well I just had surgery on both feet and my doctor was out of town for two weeks. Dr. Roper was extremely rude to me in the emergency room and said nothing was wrong with my ankle. Well thank goodness I got in to see my doctor two days ago because my Achilles' tendon was completely ruptured and I'm scheduled for surgery next week. This is something that should've been addressed as soon as possible for the best healing results. I've made a formal complaint today with Scott, the administrator over the E.R. Next time I have any issues I will make the drive to Salt Lake.
Poor bedside manner, poor pain management, and basically told "nothing was wrong with (me)." Will definitely seek medical expertise elsewhere in the future!
My girlfriend and I are first time parents and we can t express our gratitude enough for every nurse and Dr that helped us! Being a new father I don t think I would want anyone else to hep us deliver a baby after coming here! Talk about an amazing group of hardworking women! They kept both of us calm during the birth and have taken great care of our little angel. They are an amazing help if you re new to this showing us how to do everything and giving us tips and examples of their experiences with their own children which I loved. They have been more than accommodating to us, everyone working with delivery should have a super hero cape!! Can t thank everyone enough we will definitely be coming back here for our next baby when time comes. Thank you mountain west medical center for everything!
Went in on Thursday evening around 10:30 -11 in the worst pain I have ever experienced. They got me in immediately, assessed my pain, helped with the pain and then took a couple x-rays, acted on the most immediate problem and used caution before the next step, which was to see if the action would rectify the issue. When it didn t, they moved to a CT scan w/contrast and, seeing the greater problem and went in with a scope, found it was much worse, made the incision and removed the damaged part. Afterward I felt so much better, but due to circumstances with my situation my blood pressure crashed. I was immediately moved to the ICU area and they did literally a miraculous job. I have been so impressed with each step along this crazy journey, the concern and caring, the skill. Something that I wouldn t have done 20, 30 or 40 years ago. So grateful for the talent that this hospital and group has, I will be forever grateful... which might have been a much shorter time without their help!
Came in with chest pain and shortness of breath. I have been sitting in waiting room (emergency) for over 45 min. These guys dont care.
Went to the emergency because I had a headache for a few weeks and finally figured it out myself and solved the problem myself but I sat in the emergency room for a few hours and they came in and few times and did a few test on my blood and blood pressure that was all good and did a head scan and that's it and never actually helped the problem or fixed anything, then they sent me a outrageous bill for 7,000 dollars and I was very shocked and I don't mind paying my bills if the service is rendered but this was nothing but a medical scam and I'm going to make sure every one I know knows about thier service.
The ER doctor was great however the nurse Jessica was very rude, the blood pressure cuff wasn't working right and just keep blowing up and was hurting she ripped it off my arm and threw it, ripped out my I've threw it in the garbage and walked out of the room. Not sure why she thought it would be ok to treat me like that.
It's a hospital. They help a lot of people. Sometimes they make mistakes. We ALL do. They helped me. I am very grateful for them and the donors family!
They really care about giving the best possible experience to each of thier patients. The doctors are skilled and personable and the nurses clearly care about the community and each person who needs help in it. We are truly fortunate to have such a wonderful facility in tooele!!
For a Hospital that has a billion warning posters on Opioids, (not to mention the problem Tooele has) and the dangers. One would think that a person questioning these and requesting a alternative would be listened to! Nope the nurse was one of rudest and flipped a attitude on me because I told her it was unnecessary and over the counter pain meds have been working fine. Her comment was I don't want him in pain!! Even after the request she still offered the Narcotic pain pills.
In the past experienced here I would give them a 5 star. But this treatment is uncalled for and hopefully not tolerated by the upper management.
I went into the ER and took me about 45 min to get a dr. When I was the only one there, and I was in wgat felt like DEADLY pain, I will never go here again ever
No reason to kid ourselves. This isn't a big city hospital with all the trimmings. It's a triage center with adjacent birthing center.
But they are "above average" in what they do. The best thing they do is realize when they need to transfer patients to a higher level of care.
Wow. You have no idea what you have. The ER physicians here are the finest I have ever found. Never go to IMC it's much worse there. Actually I'm going to have to go back to the ER. Soon because IHC sucks. This group of people have never done me or my family wrong EVER. BUT IMC has. Be thankful for your local ER doctors they know their stuff.
My daughter had the pleasure of giving birth here and it was the most amazing experience! Dr. Shutts-Karjola and the labor and delivery staff took such great care of her! Callie, Desi, and Donna were her nurses during her stay and made her first birth a very comfortable and beautiful experience! You can tell how much they truly care for their patients.
We went in for an ultrasound, which we can expect to be about an hour. That's just fine. The staff was not rude, and we were grateful for the half-off policy if the bill is paid in 5 days, and they did not charge for our second time in (more on that later). That is why this is a two star and not a one star review.
But being there an extra half-hour longer, having the appointment involve very little interaction (silent appointments are not only awkward but not very helpful), and then get called back on our way home to tell us to come back in an hour because they didn't get the pictures good enough after an hour and a half. Then, when we go back again, we wait for another two hours to get back in for the second ultrasound. All for a price of $550 dollars (and that's the half-off price!). That is a high price for even some of the most expensive states in the nation! Apparently you don't get what you pay for here.
I have to start by saying 12 years ago I was not a fan of this place. Our experience then was less than stellar. However, we've had several opportunities to change our minds. And boy, have we. 7 years ago I was pregnant and going through some pretty major kidney stone issues. I was there often and they took great care of me
But I want to talk about my most recent experience It started in the ER. The staff was super efficient and had all the initial tests done in super quick time I felt like the longest waiting I had to do was between finding the answers we could and being admitted. Everyone in the ER was so kind
When I was admitted I was so grateful to have the most incredible nurses. They answered all of my questions and celebrated with me when I had little victories. Dr Cashmore was also very kind ND a wealth of knowledge I am just so grateful for the people and knowledge I was surrounded by
I went there because I needed emergency medical attention. They seemed nice and not much waiting time. My only problem is that I was prescribed medication that caused bad side effects. I usually go to medallus in west valley, they usually change the prescription and call it in to my usual pharmacy. I was told to keep taking the medication eventhough it was giving me very bad side effects. And if it got too bad to either go back in time the ER or go to an instacare. I just needed them to change my prescription. So if they had just provided me with something else and not tell me to keep taking this medication or waste more money to go back to the ER rather then change my meds, I would've gave them 5 stars, but after being there 2 days ago I am still sick thanks to the meds they prescribed. I hope to NEVER go there again!!! Now I know why people from Tooele say dont go to that hospital.
I had my last baby here, and we've been here twice with my son for his asthma. Each time has been a great experience with amazing staff who truly cared about us. Great place to get care!
Great care, and access to all the modern medical miracles .
Care is decent, but their financial department is the worst. They never answer, they never call back. I have to call five or six times in a day to catch someone available. Messages remain unanswered for days. They overcharge, and then charge your insurance to boot. It's rediculous. It's a headache to even think about figuring things out over the phone. I've spent hours trying to get a hold of them with questions left unanswered.
We came in to get stiches a few weeks ago. Even though thry were obviously very busy they helped my husband very quickly. Had him stitched up and out the door in 1 hour. They were very nice and explained everything before they did it.
I took my mom to hospital this morning and dropped her off at front door then parked. Their security came out and yelled at me immediately for smoking. I had just barely parked. I get them not wanting us too smoke outside, but telling me I can't smoke inside my own car is too far. It a hospital for goodness sake. When people are here they are very stressed and any smoker can tell u that when you are stressed the 1st thing u want is a smoke.
For years I had heard conflicting reviews of this hospital and it made me consider looking elsewhere when it came to delivering babies. However When I was in need of an OB, Dr. Karjola came highly recommended and after meeting her I committed to staying in the area for my maternity care! She was definitely amazing, and took great care of me (and baby) during my pregnancy and delivery. She truly cares about the health and well being of her patients and she goes above and beyond.
The labor and delivery team is so great! They were always so great to answer any pregnancy questions and concerns I had when it was after hours for my OB office. They never made me feel dumb, and they were always willing to help! I also took the prenatal classes offered at the hospital and that further showed the knowledge their staff has which continued to put my mind at ease!
Our RN Lacey was absolutely phenomenal during the labor and delivery process and I can t say just how much she helped make delivery easier! All the RNs post delivery were also so great, so sweet patient, and knowledgeable.
Their lactation consultant is seriously amazing! She s definitely the reason breastfeeding has been successful for me! I am so grateful!
Because of covid and the regulations at the time when I delivered my husband couldn t leave once we were admitted. He was fully taken care of and all meals were provided for both he and I complimentary. Which is so nice when in reality they could have charged extra but instead they went the extra mile and made sure we were comfortable and taken care of.
Their billing department was easy for me to work with, and they went the extra mile to do my pre hospital check-in a week in advance so that I wouldn t have to worry about that when going in to deliver. After delivery they continued to be so great, answering any and all questions promptly Susan in particular was fantastic! I do love the prompt payment option, it does probably indicate that their prices are probably higher than necessary. However for me between insurance coverage and prompt payment I never personally had issues.
The only thing I would say that I did not love was the on call pediatrician (Dr. Rich), I didn t find him to be very personable or anything extraordinary. We had some questions but we felt the answers he gave were nothing different than those of our nurses. So his visit felt pretty unnecessary.
It goes without saying we didn t choose to go with him as our pediatrician.
We chose Dr. Veronica at the U of U in Stansbury instead who I cannot praise nearly enough!
All in all it was a very positive experience for me! I would definitely be happy to deliver here again if I still lived in the area!
Had a Covid test in September.
Apparently it wasn't free and they sent me a mail bill to an old address I haven't lived in for over 5 years and they now sent it to collections.
No call or Voicemail concerning the Bill, no Email nothing. Just mail sent to the wrong place...

Got ahold of them and it was billed to me by mistake and they are getting it out of collections and I don't owe anything.
Was a quick resolution just hoping it doesn't hurt my credit...
Twice i have been treated as though they dont care. And im dual insured.
On August 15th,2009,I was hit by a car & was taken here by ambulance & wasn't even charged because it wasn't my fault.I got the best treatment in the ER & the doctor & nurse that I was seen by knew how to treat me.I'm going back there if I need to!
DR.MARK RADA, IS THE WORST PHYSICIAN I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED. IF YOU'RE IN PAIN HE WILL AUTOMATICALLY ASSUME YOU'RE AN "ADDICT", HE WILL ALSO SPEAK TO HIS STAFF BEYOND THE WALLS OF YOUR ROOM, EITHER JOKES ABOUT HOW YOU LOOK, OR YOUR HEALTH. THIS MAN HAS AN M.D. TITLE, BUT ACTS LIKE HES A GOD OF SOME SORT. HE WILL SPEND THE SHORTEST TIME POSSIBLE WITH YOU, AND NOT BOTHER MUCH IN LISTENING TO YOU, AS HE WILL KEEP SPEAKING OVER YOU.
They are getting better! Ten years ago I would have given them a no stars rating.

Worst hospital to go to. But unfortunately when you live in Tooele its all you got. Staff was rude, no communication and just tried to push every test they could. Would rather drive to slc than come here for an emergency.
Staff was playing Pac man all 6 of them when I arrived. I live 1 mile from hospital and will never go there again.everyone there sucks.
Edit: I got a phone call today from the Emergency room coordinator. He apologized and ask me further questions about my visit yesterday and told me he was going to look into a couple yhings The doctor also sincerely apologized, which I appreciate. Because of the phone call and the sincerity I'm changing my 1 star review to 3 stars.
Original review: I have never been more angry with a hospital. I came in to the ER in excruciating pain to the point where I couldn't stand up. I could barely walk and move in general. They almost sent me home because I just "tweaked my back". When I told the doctor what medication I had taken for pain I recieved a very rude look. I felt as though he was accusing me for drug seeking when in reality I had been in such horrible pain for over 12 hours. He was reluctant to treat me and I only received help after reiterating just how much pain I was in. What topped it all off though was one of the nurses. I have an unusual health problem that was bothering me. My husband talked to a nurse who said she would be in in a minute. 20 minutes later, after seeing no one, I pressed the call button to talk to them about needing something for it. Half way through explaining my situation she just walked out on me saying "I don't know if we can." A while later my call button went off without me touching it. I didn't know it until the same nurse came in. When I told her I didn't press it, that I didn't need anything, she threw her head back in annoyance and rolled her eyes, leaving without a word. My call button went off again without my touching it and a different nurse (Becky) answered it. She was very sweet and not at all annoyed with me for it. Besides her, everyone I encountered was rude and unhelpful. I had surgery a week ago on my stomach, the doctor knew this, yet he still pressed ridiculously hard during his exam. I went home only slightly better than when I arrived, but perfectly happy to get out of there. The whole experience was a JOKE. I'd gladly drive a farther distance to a hospital that actually treats me like a human being.
I had my annual mammogram today and it was absolutely painless and quick (took less than 10 minutes total - in and out. Registration was very slick and everyone took great precautions regarding COVID-19. Don't delay getting your mammogram - breast cancer doesn't stop just because of COVID.
Now that I'm out of Tooele and in a care center I can say this, the staff were great to me but the level of care is questionable and the reason I say this is because I went into the emergency room with a UTI so they stuck a catheter in me and turns out that they stuck it in wrong plus they gave me some weak antibiotics for the infection because the infection was resistant to it
Worst possible hospital ever! They take forever for anything to get done! They are extremely hard to work with.
Doctors don t give a damn in the ER here. My husband took FMLA paperwork to them after having to take significant time off work to care for our family and they refused to fill it out. Their excuse was it s at our discretion whether or not to sign this paperwork. So if my husband loses his job, that s no never mind to them. Wow.
The worst medical expirence of my life. They were supposed to be treating me for an anxiety attack & instead I got treated for a thyroid discorder & arthiritus. I got drugged with a handful of medication that I had never heard of and to make it worse, they have refused me all my medical records for that visit and refuse to justify why the treatments were medically needed.
I was beat up by a male orderly while I was there and they tried to write it off as pre-exisiting injuries on top of all of it.

I have given birth to 3 children here, the actual labor and delivery facility was good all three times (since then the best RN has been let go); however, I have to give the facility a terrible rating because of their administration. Their billing is HORRIFIC! They over-charge because they are considered a "rural" hospital. You will pay thousands of dollars more to have a baby here. They pressure you to pay prior to even giving birth (how do I know for sure I will even end up delivering at your hospital?). We chose to pay in full prior to checking out of the hospital for a discounted rate. We continued to get bills for months after and every time we called they would say "we see you have paid in full, I don't know why you keep getting bills, just ignore them." Well, we have really good credit so we were so paranoid we were going to take a hit on our credit that we stressed over it for months. This happened literally with all 3 children. The latest issue with their billing is now at my desk...my son is 15 months old and I am now getting bills for his care at discharge. The doctor is claiming it was never paid so now almost a year and a half later I am STILL dealing with their incompetence.
I will drive to salt lake city when at all possible for any future hospital needs. They are also really good at running off good Doctor's. There are at least half a dozen I know of who have left because of the administration of this facility. (A family member of mine works in the medical field so I am privy to some "inside information" regarding their departures). If you can avoid this place, it will save you a headache in the future.
The staff in the ER are beyond Amazing. Dr. Gardner took care of my daughter in extreme obdominal pain. We came in during their earthquake preparedness day & even though the ER got busy each staff team member treated her & I with the best care. The Dr. set her up with an ob after finding a large cyst on her ovary. He explained in the reason for her separate pain viral gastric & cyst. We are truly Thankful for being kind, professional & caring .
My issue is with billing. I was sent a bill to which I promptly sent a payment through my Flex Spending account. A few months later, I got a call stating there was never a payment made, so I sent a screenshot of the check number, check issued date, amount, and the Pay To information showing the payment was made. Suddenly, a year and a half later, I get a notice from a collection agency showing this same account went to collections. I did not get any calls or letters or ANYTHING after the first phone call in which I sent the check information to them...just a notice from a collection agency over a year later stating the account was never settled or paid. Now they are telling me they cannot accept the check from my Flex Spending agency and that I have to send it to the collection agency...which may not be able to happen. More than year without informing me that the account was not paid and the issue was not resolved and just sending the billing over to a collection agency? That is low. Lowest of the low. I even talked to the customer service rep in the billing department that admitted there had been no communications sent after March of 2020. I don't know how this place still is in business...really. I'll travel into Salt Lake before going to them again.
Today (9/10/19) I had an appointment for an MRI. The individual who did the MRI was Stephen. He was very nice, explained everything and was constantly insuring that I was ok. MRI's are not the most comfortable imaging tests to have done, but Stephen went above and beyond to make sure the visit was as pleasant as possible.
I also wish I could remember the names of the two women who assisted me with the check in process, they were very nice and the process was smooth. Also thanks to Sam, who I spoke to on the phone several times as I inquired about my benefits and she did the pre-registration over the phone which insured that my check in this morning was smooth and effortless. Thank you Mountain West Medical Center!
Seriously I never have a good experience here. My daughter is very sick and needed blood work. Had us wait for over 2 hours before we left. She was very sick and needs to be home and not waiting for them to get their stuff together. I go up to the front and tell the gal that we are leaving because they are wasting our time. She says ok thank you for coming in. Absolute joke this hospital. Get your act together really! A sick infant obviously is not a priority in their eyes. I'll be like alot of residents of tooele and stansbury and just go to salt lake to make sure things are actually done. This place is a joke

I have in this hospital many times since 2004 and I have been taken care very well. They treated me very well and were kind, caring and friendly.
I have used MWMC many times over the years. I am a nurse and have either worked in or received care in every major hospital in the Salt Lake valley. The staff and doctors at Mountain West are as good or better than any caregivers out there. They have been there for my family and friends in some really scary emergencies and I'm thankful for the great work they do. If I have ever had any issue, it was resolved with a phone call and them giving every discount they possibly could. Thank you!!
I've had scans for several years now both here in Tooele as well as Salt Lake. My experience at MWM with Todd in MRI has been amazing. Billing has been great to work with as well. Thank you for ensuring my comfort during the process. Many friendly competent people working hard each day. Thank you for treating me with respect and not just like a number.

I went there with a bad gallbladder and the ER doctor said I had gallstones then said that I didn't and that he did not know how to read the scan! Then they had me drink what is called a "GI cocktail" to " help with my stomach pain" even though it was not my stomach that was in pain.
I went to a different hospital in SLC the next night and got hospitalized for 3 days then had my Gallbladder removed.
The bill from my 2 hour Er visit to Mountain west was more than my Er visit and 3 day stay in salt lake.
I would not recommend this hotspot to anyone, if you can just go to salt lake.
Went to the ER for an intense back injury. They gave me some morphine and did a urine test to see if I had possible kidney stones. Came back negative and I was out in under 2 hours. I get a bill for 3K. I dont understand how morphine and a urine test is 3k, but I will not be going back at those rates. Unless you have the money I'd stay clear of this place if you can. Been hearing they are the most expensive hospital in all of utah and I believe it.
