Felt really amazing collection of variety of food items and dessert...

Only the food is great. Other than that room is not good and not clean. Some light bulbs are not working. They are not maintaining the rooms well. 1.30 hr got delayed to check-in. They haven't ready the room. We came to the hotel by 5 pm. No one came to the room to collect bags when we are checking out also. We called and informed reception and wait 30 mins and we left the room with our bags. Need to develop a lot. Not value for money at all.

Visited the hotel for sunday brunch and and saturday dinner buffet on separate days. The atmosphere on Sunday was very relaxing. The food was excellent and had a wide range of food. If looking for improvement the choice and quality of desserts should be stepped up. Also the guests should be given a welcome drink. If given, our party of 8 guests were not served.
However saturday dinner was a bit dissapointing. Although a table for 11 was booked in advance we had a long wait for a table to be ready. The food was very ordinary and a not so great choice. The whole dinner experience was"nothing to write home about".

Gorgeous, old building by the sea. My own quiet sandy beach. Good pool area. Very friendly staff. The look of the rooms is old but elegant. Great breakfast.

Love to be at Terrace while enjoying the sea view. They have a quiet reasonable dishes for an evening snacks.

Stayed here about 5 years back and it was a really good experience, plush rooms and service. But now its gone down the drain, poor maintenance and sub par service. The same money can buy you better places around the town.

Food was good and service was excellent especially Saman (Nellie) tthe Restaurant manager was really fantastic. Our friends also loved it and they want to bring their friends too. Thank you for making our evening so memorable.

Food was good. We were allowed to walk in to the buffet for lunch. Didn't have to make any reservations. Table service is quite slow. Didn't clean the tables until it was fully stacked up with plates. The billing takes a very long time. The buffet ticket allows pool and beach access. Compared to the price, which is USD $20, its a good deal comming from a 4 star hotel.

Excellent staff, Manager was nice and very supportive in helping us do a late check out due to late flight.

Very nice beach in Colombo city area, but litte difficult to acess without entering to Mount Lavinia Hotel. You can enjoy lot in there. I went there with my family and enjoy lot, If you like to boat ride in sea, it is possible to arrange it with discussing of hotel staff.. They will arrange for you.
Weekend and holiday is vey busy for this hotel.

Mt. Lavinia is a beautiful hotel with great service. the staff are very freindly and the beach view is breath taking.

We had actually paid more for this place than Kingsbury or Trinco Blu resort, but the room was terrible and outworn, extremely disappointing and overpriced. We had decided to do the breakfast buffet and went through, there was a table outside that didn't have cutlery set up, we told the girl and went to get food. We come back 5 mins later to not find it set up, i had to go seek someone to get it setup, absolutely pathetic. None of the waiters were clearing the plates, they were all focusing on serving the white foreigners, as a foreigner myself its clear this place discriminates. This place is only catered to serve white foreigners. Will not recommend this overpriced place to anyone. In my opinion Kingsbury and Trinco Blu have won me over.

Awesome Hotel, nice peoples, comfortable rooms and excellent service. We stayed one week there. Enjoyed the daily breakfast on the terasse and the beautiful beach. Hope to be there once again

It was great. The history and the fame is in the air. The building itself tells stories about kings and queens. And its the beach that really sings

Nice hotel with classy look both outside and inside. Hotel is nice and clean and well maintained. Has spacious function hall,stairs and corridors. One side of the hotel faces ocean. Went here for a wedding function. Food was great. Staff is well trained, helpful.

There were broken steps. Watch out your feet anyway.

Staff does not care much about local guests. May be it's kind of a busy place. But one should visit this place.

A colonial type hotel with a rich and mysterious history. Brings the old world charm to life. Food is great, rooms are a little old, but thats part of this great deal.

This restaurant is part of Mt Lavinia Hotel, situated at the beach front of the hotel. It has many tables set on the beach for visitors to dine in the open and enjoy fresh sea breeze. Fresh seafood arrive around 7pm and diner then choose from the catch of the day, the choice of fish, prawn, crab, lobster, squid and so on. The method of cooking is then selected and the chef can cook the selected seafood accordingly. The seafood is fresh and taste is good. Price is average too.

Not a good experience. Tiered rooms and overall needs a bit of sprucing up.
