Wow, what a discovery! Although everything was shut due to lockdown, we still managed a lovely walk that took us from Southwell minster, which has an amazing history. Around it's garden which is the perfect place to stop and have a picnic, then down to the old railway line which although was busy, on a sunny day it takes you through some lovely countryside. There's a cafe at Maythorne just off the old railway line, but unfortunately was shut but looks nice.
Definitely a surprising find.

This building is incredible. The architecture is astounding, and the people are very kind and humble.

I have been a chorister here for just over 3 years. It's been an amazing place to work in, and it's been an honour to work with such marvellous people as Paul Hale, Simon Hogan and Paul Provost. I wish to thank them for such an amazing experience that shall stick with me for the rest of my life.

O Lord, please bless our music that it might glorify your name. May the talent that you have bestowed upon us be used only to serve you.
Let our music be a witness to your majesty and love, and remind us that you are always watching, and listening, from your throne above.
May your presence and beauty be found in every note, and may the words that are sung reach the hearts of your people so they will draw closer to you.
May your Spirit guide us through every measure so that we might be the instruments of your peace, and proclaim your glory with glad voices.

Amen

It was a lovely visit. We didn't stay all that long, we just went to look around. I really liked that some information was there to read if you wanted but some of it was also portrayed in Lego with smaller captions. There was also a place for people to build their own creations out of bricks. Outside were some benches to sit on. There was also a garden containing a ruined building in the grounds though sadly the garden was closed due to a private function that was going on at the time. If you wanted to take photos inside you needed a permit which you could get from reception. It's nice to see a place that relies on donations rather than charging for entry. Overall, a nice variety of things to see and do and things to appeal to different ages.

Truly beautiful church. A stunning place to worship or, depending on your sole intentions of coming, look at. When I was a young child, my family and I used to come here for services on a Sunday and I d go off to Sunday school; even as a child the extraordinary beauty of this place didn t fail to escape my eye! Wether you are interested in it s unique history, seeking a new place to find solace, or simply curious, I completely recommend dropping in. Those who give up time to maintain the church are all very friendly and for younger children, there is a mouse hunt with edible prize to keep them entertained! They also host christenings and regular services and events for the local school, including Lowes Wong juniors and The Minster School, where I myself go. The Minster is a rare masterpiece in a modern world, and it s interior is truly breathtaking. Also, though this is rather cheeky of me, bring a couple of pounds with you to donate to the church - the beautiful building is rather expensive to mantain and there are people who give up their time to make sure it stays available for people such as yourself to come and visit; that being said, it is a horrible shame that younger generations, even my own, are losing interest in such places, and your visit alone would be appreciated. Whatever your plans, I am sure you will not regret dropping in to get a glimpse of this historical gold!

A truly impressive Norman cathedral with unsurpassed interior stone carvings and beautiful stained glass of all ages. As well as a cathedral the building is also a parish church with three services a day. The volunteer guides are exceptional. No admission charge but a small charge for a photography licence if you wish to take photographs of the interior. Of course there us the opportunity to make and gift aid a donation including by contactless card. Well worth a visit.

Stunning building. Amazing Norman Nave and some fine examples of the severe Romanaesque style.
Welcoming and knowledgeable stewards.
If only the vast Anglican money cows like Westminster Abbey and St. Paul's Cathedral would, having fleeced their visitors of large sums of cash, behave less pompously and appreciate the fact that without tourists paying their wages, they probably wouldn't have their jobs. (Priest's and Deans too.)
