Tampa Improv Festival Reviews

It was difficult to see the stage from the top row corner table. We waited quite about an hour to receive cold fries and chicken tenders. The warm up comics were funnier than the headliner. Headliner was difficult to understand half of what he said because he either mumbled or talked so deep into the mic. Stick to Side Splitters - it has better parking and food is never cold.

The bar tenders was nice bouncers was cool the comedians was lame

The show was great! The food was cold and way over priced. $17 for wings and fries?? Drinks are weak and pricey. The staff is actually pretty nice.

Great comedy but very uncomfortable chairs and tables are extremely small. Too small for large crowds. They pack you in there like sardines. Bathrooms are disgusting and no toilet paper

Great acts great food and great prices, great for a date night under $100

I love coming to this place. Obviously some visits will be better than others depending on who is performing. Tonight was a great show with Tony Gaud and Dean Edwards. The food is always good as is the wait staff. It's worth coming in to check out if haven't yet.

This comedy club always has an impressive line up of talent. I was there on 7/6/19 and the show was awesome. Here are the con's: on my ticket it said doors open 9:15 & show starts at 10....we did not get in the doors until after 10pm. The More

Been there several times. Good service, good bar and drinks, lots of fun (why else go to a comedy club?). If you're looking for 5 star dining, try elsewhere, the food is what you expect fro a comedy club.

Excellent seating, delicious food, and fun atmosphere.

Comedian was great! Wait staff was rude. Complained to our table about how busy he was. Forgot our order.

We saw Leanne Morgan and she was hilarious! I loved the old building. We didn t eat, but the food around us looked amazing. I drank Grown-Up Cherry Coke. I WILL be ordering that again real soon. Very close seating, but if the entertainment is good, you won t mind.

Great show and great venue. David at security a class act and took great care of us!

Staff is great! Fun venue for open mic on Thursday night! Bartenders up front are very friendly and efficient.

Although the food was good; the menu is very overrated, you get very small portions for the price that you have to pay the price point is very very high. As regards to the comics the main headliner was actually very boring and the female before her was actually very very funny and the overall experience was quite uneventful.

I got charged for someone else s table! The server told me that the charge would come off after midnight. If not to call on Tuesday to speak with a manager! Called three times. The first time the women told me she was going to relay the message to manger. Never got a call back or refunded. Called again left message on managers voice mail two days ago and still no call back! Now I m getting irritated!

Very happy with the act but not the facility. Was told to be there at 7pm to have dinner before the show. Got there on time and stood in line till about 7:20pm, wasn't even acknowledged. Finally a waiter named Jeffrey comes over and says we'll be seated shortly. If your gonna leave 50 something people standing in line not knowing what's gonna on then say something. The act was great, got sat right in front of the stage. Time to pay the check and there are no waiters around, very easy to just walk out but we didnt. Pay attention to your customers!

All our friends arrived at 9:15 PM as indicated and at 10:31 PM as I type this review, we were still waiting in line in the rain.
What prompted me to give this one star review is because my wife asked to use the bathroom and the bouncer refused to let my wife in.

Great Atmosphere! Headliner Damon Williams was Hilarious! And will be performing three more nights. A must see. 11/16, 11/17 and 11/18 Great date night.

Love going to see my favorite comics in person. Nice atmosphere and good food and drinks. Makes for a great date night

For covid19, there were no temperature checks but masks were required to enter the building. The tables were place really close to each other and you were able to take masks off while eating/drinking. So I felt like the distancing was still an issue. 90% of the food was fried but was good. The waiting staff was nice and the bartenders were great. I probably wouldn't return due to the small/uncomfortable seats and not enough space between tables. It still feels like they're trying to cram as many people possible in a small space.

Ali !!! Great show!! Would live to see him come back to Tampa Improv. Food was decent. One issues space is needed sat behind a gentleman who kept accidentally bumping me or hands touching from laughter if the comedian. Space tables out.

Ordered a salad and fried shrimp. No utensils to eat my salad. Waited the whole entire show and not one time did my waiter or another waiter come by to ask for utensil. Luckily my waiter was nice and apologetic about it and took the salad off my ticket. Gerad was awesome!!

The entertainment was great the food is just ok But the drinks are awesome

Happened a few years back when Ralphie May was there (R.I.P). Security came up to my table twice because I was laughing too loud...in a comedy club. Got thrown out because I wouldnt cater to his lack of an ego....typical ybor!!!

We watched Steve-O and it was a great show I really want to say that the service was not the greatest however if the right comedians there we would go again

The comedians were excellent but my service was horrible. My waitress came to take order drop it off and that was IT. NEVER came back and asked if I wanted something else or how my food was. I'm an excellent tipper but I also tip according to the service I'm provided and on my $35 bill my waitress definitely didn't deserve a tip at all let alone the 18% gratuity included in my check. Server Kacie M no thank you and if I return I will make sure she is not my waitress.

Don't share your opinion because your car may get keyed in valet from bumper to bumper! Will never visit this racist place again!

Electric!! The set was on point. The comics....SMASSHEDit! It was off the chart. Great food, folks and drinks. Entertainment as it should be!!

Valet parked our car here and it came back keyed scratched down drivers side not a good experience at all the comics werent that funny either borderline racist in my party's opinion

This is stupidity itself. I had to leave. No witticism. Comedy? How can anyone think of charging money to hear that garbage. Funny? No way!

Food was surprisingly good and staff was courteous. Comedian kinda bonbed but we had a good time overall.

My husband and I went to see Brad Williams. 08/12 what a blast. He was super funny, sold out show, we had awesome seats. Thanks Brad for a great night.

Absolutely horrible comedians, not even remotely funny, couldnt even keep my attention in the front row. Also horrible service and treatment by staff. Will never return. Spend your money across the street.

Great show with Headliner Margaret Cho. Well worth the ticket price to see her!

Over priced figure food and drinks. The temperature in the show room was warm. Literally sweating.
The show was moderately funny.
All and all not worth the $140 i spent .

IMPROV IN TAMPA SUCKS AND THEY STEAL YOUR MONEY!!!! Don't use your credit or debit card there!!!! The waitresses and/or management will falsify your information and unless you have a copy of your receipt to prove otherwise, (which isn't carbon copied, so I don't know how you would) you'll have no recourse with your bank or credit card company!!! Please share!!!!

Non-stop laughs every time! The food is good. Want a refillable drink? Buy a souvenir glass! Staff is friendly, fast, and attentive.

Great atmosphere, food and drinks. Saw nephew Tommy had so much laughter.

I've been to The Tampa Improve on many,many different occasions. I have to say this last visit was by far the worst ever. The show itself was ok but they really tried it with the food! The wings were burnt and when asked to correct the issue the same wings were thrown into buffalo sauce and reserved. Needless to say I didnt pay a dime for the food and will never order food there again. I will however continue to comeout and support the comedians.

The comedy was great, and the food was really impressive! There were 6 of us, and we all enjoyed our meals. The salmon dinner was a large portioned, delicious plate! I would definitely visit again!
