Dr. Kathleen Weber is well known, highly regarded, and exceptionally knowledgeable. She delivers this expertise with humility, humor, and kindness. She is the best physician I have met. Her skills have allowed me to stay athletic active as I am growing older, and for that I cannot thank her enough!

I highly recommend Dr. Christopher J. DeWald at Midwest Orthopedics at Rush. Dr. Dewald is one of the best in his profession and brings a comforting bedside presence. He performed a lumbar fusion on me in 2016 to relieve lower back and leg pain. I was also experiencing severe numbness in both legs. I no longer suffer from these issues. Thank you doctor DeWald for allowing me to live without those life changing symptoms. His nurse Stephanie, was exceptional on helping me with after hour issues when I needed guidance in a prompt manner. Thank you Stephanie for your dedication and caring.

You would be hard pressed to find a better practitioner than Dr. Cheng. He has the unique ability to explain medical procedures and conditions in laymen's terms . He is thorough, considerate and highly skilled. I highly recommend him. Thanks again Doc.

Had a really great experience with Dr. Goldberg today. My surgery went off without a hitch. Everything was very professional and I couldn t have been treated better! HIGHLY recommend Dr. Goldberg and his team.

Dr. Weber was incredible! I had been to 2 different ortho doctors and multiple physical therapists before seeing her, none of them could tell me what was wrong with my knee. One ortho said he noticed nothing abnormal on my MRI and the other thought it was Hoffa's syndrome, but not terribly aggravated. It took Dr. Weber only minutes to discover that I had patellar tendinopathy.

I knew I wasn't crazy like the other orthos suggested, it felt good to finally have some validation. She answered a multitude of my questions before I even asked them (I had about 20 written down). She was very interested in everything I had to say, as well as very thorough with trying to pin down exactly what I did to cause the injury and what motions caused me pain.

I had gone into the visit wanting a PRP injection, as nothing else had worked. She was very persistent with her questioning on previous methods of attempted treatment, PT, cortisone injections, knee brace etc... Because PRP is not on the frontline of knee treatment protocol. She easily could've just given me what I wanted and taken my money for the injection. (which was $750 out of pocket as insurance deems the treatment "experimental") Instead, she made sure I was comfortable and had completed all of the prerequisites.

I asked her if she would suggest the PRP as the next step in my line of treatment and she said yes. We proceeded onward, she was very comforting, knowledgeable and precise. I could tell I was in great hands and I felt very hopeful about my treatment.

After the procedure I bombarded her with even more questions, all of which she was delighted to answer. I must've spent two hours or more with her directly. You can tell she has a passion for finding the causes of a patient's ailments and working with them to fix the situation.

I have been dealing with my knee issues for over a year now, and many times I've gotten my hopes up, only to be let down by "experts" claiming to be at the top of their respective fields. As such, I had been left with a very hard to convince attitude and very high standards. Dr. Weber not only met all of my expectations, she exceeded them amazingly. I look forward to seeing her in the future as I rehab my knee, and for any other orthopaedic issues that may arise. Her assistant was professional and thorough as well.

My entire experience with Dr. Weber and Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush was incredible and inspiring. Her and her staff deserve the highest of praise!

One of those rare medical facilities where you can count on appointment times. I needent brought a book as I did not wait for a single step of my first appointment at Rush. Everyone was very helpful to me. We could have received some information about the parking garage and mention to have it stamped by the surgeons office for a discount on parking.

I went for a second opinion about my knee not healing properly from a previous procedure done by another physician and Dr. Della Valle was very open and direct, willing to discuss previous advice and answer my questions. He went into great detail to explain what previous physician treatment plan was which had not been thoroughly . He was willing to discuss my concerns and took time with me even though he would not be able to take my case due to allergy status. He did give a referral to a Dr. I could see that would be able to deal with specific need. I discovered that Dr. would be too faraway due to office had changed location and when I called him back for another referral he provided another option. I did see the physician and was pleasantly surprised to find he had spoken to the Dr. about my case so Dr. was fully aware of my situation which made initial consultation more informative and meaningful. I was very impressed with Dr. DELLA VALLE and his staff's assistance even through I was not going to be their patient. I have recommended him to other family/friends. In fact one person I spoke with did end up seeking his advice as a third opinion and was so impressed with the time he spent and information he provided her about her condition she has chosen him for her Dr. for her surgery. I haven't been to many doctors that was able/willing to communicate in such an open manner.

I was referred to Rush by my internist, because I had been in extreme pain for over 2 years after having surgery in Northwest Indiana by an orthopedic surgeon. Dr Nicholson saw me and scheduled surgery immediately. He cleared an infection in my shoulder and has be overseeing my recovery since. I have greatly benefited from his skill and attention. The nod my experience as t Rush was overwhelmingly positive.

Dr Williams literally put my leg back together. He did a fantastic job. He takes the time you need to feel comfortable with the procedures that need to be done. He is conservative in the process and explores all avenues. His PA Jessica also gave great support to Dr Williams and always responded very quickly with any concerns. The whole team at Rush was fantastic through the year long process that it took me to get back to together.

The entire staff involved in my care was kind, thorough and detailed in their explanations, and very professional. Dr. Fernandez and his PA were excellent- spent time explaining the injury and proposed procedure in detail and answered all of my questions. Would highly recommend to family and friends!

I drive 3.5 hours to go here to see Dr John, and I'd never complain about the drive, the care I receive would out weigh the comute, i would recommend Rush Medical Center to anyone needing expert advice or surgical procedures from Doctor John Fernandez, he takes the time to explain everything so each individual understands what going to be done, his P.A.'s are very helpful and caring. I am very pleased with all the work that I've had done at Rush, it's going on 2 1/2 years I've been going there, and if I needed it, I'd go back. My last surgery was at the Gold Surgical Center and I was very pleased with my experience there as well. All the staff is qualified and very friendly.

Once again I needed to return to Rush Medical Center for a check up and again I received excellent care with compassion, I cannot say enough about Dr John Fernandez. I'll be returning to see him again in 6 weeks and I'm expecting to get the best care then also. I strongly believe that we have more than a doctor/patient relationship, I'd say we're friends.

Dr. Nikhil Verma is an incredible doctor his persona is that of a truly highly intelligent, gifted and caring professional!!! He explained in great detail my injury and what to expect . Dr. Andrew who proceeded him was very good also. I haven't seen that type of intensity since leaving Kaiser hospital in California.

Very confident in Dr. Della Valle s ability and expertise in performing my rather difficult knee replacement. He took his time at the consultation and answered every question patiently and thoroughly. Truthfully, he had me at no staples, only dissolvable stitches. ! So happy for the recommendation from my nephew and his wife, Jim and Bess. They said, why wouldn t you go with the best in the country!

I was very pleased with the quick, friendly and efficient services received. I was sent paperwork (that I filled out online) before arriving at my appointment. The receptionist applauded me filling them out and it actually sped up the registration process greatly! I was getting x-rays 10 minutes within my appointment time and I was seen by Dr Lee 10 minutes after that! Dr Lee was straightforward, friendly and gave a "this is what I would do if I were you" answer, which was greatly appreciated. He thoroughly explained what was wrong with minimal medical terminology and gave recommendations on what to do and where go for the ankle/foot support I need. I would definitely go back or recommend Midwest Orthopedics at Rush to anyone!

Doctor Romeo has done a great job with both my shoulders. I am performing therapy at this time with my right shoulder, all is well.
Doctor Romeo is an exceptional Dr.

Doctor Rosenberg did both of my knee replacements and did a great job! He is a very very good Dr.

Doctor Nam has replaced my right hip and will be replaceing my left hip soon. My right hip feels great and I am sure the same will be true for my left hip. Dr. Nam is a great Dr.

All the doctors including the therapy staff at Rush are exceptional at their jobs. I would in no uncertain terms recommend Rush and their staff for all Orthopaedics surgery.

Dr. Kathleen Weber is highly recommended and extremely down to earth and funny. I can appreciate a doctor who has a ton a patients, and can still come in the room and bring her humor with her. I look forward to working with her.

I recently had Lumbar Decompression surgery performed by Dr. Colman. I had the surgery done at the Munster, Indiana facility. The facility itself is very nice. It was easy to get to and a nicer drive than having to go downtown Chicago. The staff was wonderful. The nurses made me and my wife feel very comfortable and they were extremely attentive. Dr. Colman was the surgeon I chose after my employers insurance company sent me to see him after suffering a back injury. I liked what he had to say and I was impressed with his training and credentials. It was decided after several visits that surgery was a logical decision. I can t say that the surgery was a complete success because it has only been a few days, however I have Dr. who is very hopeful and says the surgery went great. If I need a Orthopedic surgeon in the future, Dr Colman or someone from Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush would be my only choice. Go with the best.

Everyone is very professional and they take very good care of their patients, before, during, and after surgery. They have text instructions to help guide you as to what to do, before and during your recovery. That is an invaluable resource!

So unreliable!

So unreliable!
Reception people were respectful and professional, so was the nurse practitioner and others. That's why I give two starts. I take 3 starts out because of this:
I got there and before seeing a Dr., a staff took me to take an x-ray just to rip off my insurance and unnecessarily put me at risk of x-rays. I told them multiple times I had x-ray done a month before with no indication of any fracture or abnormality in my bones. I had MRI taken the week before with soft tissue damage. It took me multiple times of back and forth and challenging them, to let me see my Dr. first...
I'm glad I challenges them to ask to see my Dr. first, because I was certain another x-ray was not necessary. What if I was not insisting to see the Dr. first before proceeding with unnecessary x-ray (like all other patients!!)? As a result, I had an elevated blood pressure why they should be so irresponsible and so unreliable, and so inconsiderate! Unbelievable ... and you know what makes it twice as sad, I work at Rush and technically am a colleague. Is there any accountability here? Did anyone apologize when I told the story? Did anyone even care to hear me out? Unbelievable!!!
In their follow up survey they emails also, they have 3 response options on GOOD side, and only 2 options below GOOD. Even an elementary student knows that this way, they're pushing the responses towards GOOD in a ratio of 3 to 2!!! Whom are you kidding or cheating? So irresponsible...

It is the second time I had a very special service from my doctor Kamran Hamid. I'm suffering from a fracture in my right ankle of 35 years ago and of course there is a lot of arthritis and unhealed bone from the beginning. Docror Hamid explained the situation in details and we discussed all the options that I have . It was a great experince not only profesionaly but as a human too. Thank you doctor Hamid.

I had a very bad fall in 1/17/17. Broke the lower part of fibula and tibia and vertical split on the back of ankle. Dr. Hamid operated on it three days later. He is a very caring, innovative and think outside of the box, surgeon. It helps when your doctor has similar philosophy and outlook in life. I am very grateful and blessed with the care.
The great experience started with the first call for an appointment with Dr. Katherine Weber and following with her recommendation of Dr. Hamid. I can't ask for better care than this.
It has been almost a year since injury, pretty much I can do anything I enjoy, even went to Machu Picchu for the holiday, hiking with no issue.
Thank you for the wonderful care. I shall enjoy my life.

I am very happy to have found Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush and Dr. Brian Cole and all of the Physician's Assistants and Fellows who work with him. Everyone takes the time to listen to me, ask me questions, and answer my questions in turn. I have never felt patronized (which is not always the case for middle-age women complaining about pain). Instead of just trying to live with my knee pain, I have been set on a path of active treatment. At the same time, everyone is realistic about what may or may not be the outcomes of specific treatments or surgeries, allowing me to make informed decisions.

I broke my ankle and foot in 6 places and I am so glad I was treated at Rush by Dr.Lin. I am very thankful for the excellent orthopedic care I have received from Dr. Lin and the rest of the team at Rush after sustaining the worst injury of my life.

The check-in process required patients to use an iPad to fill out multiple forms and surveys. That is fine if you are familiar with the technology AND the technology works. I was filling out the form for my mom and had to go to the desk because the forms would not advance. The receptionist said this always happens and was just as frustrated as I was. After 30 minutes I was still answering survey questions when we were called to the room. We never had the opportunity to finish the registration process. It made me feel like the process and my mom s information were not important. There were also multiple surveys asking my opinion about topics that had nothing to do with my mom s registration.

Dr. Gerlinger is extremely professional and of course knowledgeable and skilled. He was not rushed and focused completely on my questions. By the end of my appointment, both my husband and I were comfortable we were in the right place.

The pre-op preparation for Total Knee Replacement was impressive. After meeting with the internal medicine doctor who reviewed my history and conducted a brief physical, he discussed issues that might affect recovery considering my medical conditions. The following day he called to review findings from labs etc. The nurses led a detailed class on all pre-op, inter op and post op considerations. My husband and I both felt well prepared for the big day.

My recent appointment at Rush /Midwest Orthopedics with Dr Joshua Jacobs was for right knee pain. I had been to see Dr Jacobs many times in the past six years since before and after he performed surgery on my left knee to replace it. Each experience has met and gone above my expectations. This appt. included precautions to keep everyone safe during this COVID epidemic. I felt safe in the environment. The staff is always professional and efficient, eager to provide needed services and answer all questions. Laura Quigley Nurse Practioner is the best nurse I ve ever met. She is supportive and exceptionally knowledgeable. She took the time to prepare me for surgery and necessary follow-up. I always feel like I matter. I know I m in the best hands with Dr. Jacobs. He was highly recommended. My knee replacement was very successful. He always takes time to explain, reassure and treat my orthopedic needs. I would highly recommend Dr. Joshua Jacobs. He is the best!!!!

I have rarely had a medical experience as pleasant as my first encounter with this office. I feel like I've entrusted my health to the best place I could have chosen.

Update: 3 months after my hip revision my above impression remains unchanged. Additionally, the replacement Dr. Tad Gerlinger did for me is vastly superior to the hip I got from Advocate four years ago--no shifting or popping at all and highly stable.

Like most things in a large city, this office is busy and wait times are longer than you'd see if you went to a suburban location. That being said, Dr. Gerlinger and his team were professional, took their time to explain my options in great detail. I never felt rushed, my opinion was valued, and I am confident that I'm treating with the best ortho team in the Midwest. Paired with the surgical and ortho teams at RUSH Hospital, you cannot do better in the area. Highly recommended.

From the moment I hobbled in, the staff at Midwest Orthopaedic, namely Dr. George Holmes, Jr. s team, was amazing. From reception to x-rays, consultation and cast wrap, the team was outstanding, caring and competent! They treat all the major sports teams and dancers in Chicago, but while I was there, my ankle was the only ankle in the world that mattered!

I am truly disappointed with my experience here. ...

I am truly disappointed with my experience here. I thought that with the big sports affiliations attached to Midwest Ortho at Rush, that I would receive excellent treatment. Unfortunately that has not been the case. The only positive experience I had was with Geneva in the imaging department. She went above and beyond to get my referrals approved and kept me apprised every step of the way. My other experiences have made my decision to take my medical records and find care elsewhere.

*Getting transferred to the wrong department because the person didn't take the time to hear what my needs were

*Having extremely long wait times for my appointments, time and time again, and no staff ever provided an update as to the delay. I was always told "you'll be called (or seen) in a couple minutes, but 30 minuets would go by and nothing...

*Having to call numerous times because my messages were not returned. (By the doctor, the imaging scheduling staff, etc)

*Having no way to send my physician a message via the patient portal

*Having to fill out digital forms time and time again. The medication history doesn't carry over, the procedure history doesn't carry over, some questions didn't apply but you were forced to answer in order to complete the form.

*Being told by the physician to call for my imaging results so I wouldn't have to come in, but not getting a call back. Why did I have to be the one to call in the first place?

*Being given a plan for my treatment after my brace didn't work, but then getting called after my CT and told to get a brace, which I had already done for a month and it was not effective. It was like no one knew what was going on or like there was no adequate documentation from my visit.

I know that things happen and no one is perfect, but when numerous things like this happen, it makes you feel like you are not important as a patient.

It's been over a month since my MRI, and months since my initial visit and CT, and I still have no answers about my thumb injury or MRI results. I've only seen the physician twice because I was told to call for results or he was so far behind, I left.

I had my back surgery there with Dr. Phillips, he took care of me, I feel good I'm able to do the things that I used to do, so therefore by him doing such a great job why go anywhere else, that's why I chose Dr. Cole because I know I'm in good hands.

BEWARE of price gouging and being handled like an object on an assembly line.

I was here for a simple diagnostic of a dislocated joint.

Dr. Mark Cohen spent about 20 seconds with me. He said everything would be fine according to the pictures and that we re going to give you a splint . He got up and left without leaving room for asking any questions. In fact, he was done and got up before the resident even got there.

Besides the other incredibly high medical charges, the splint ended up costing nearly $400. FOUR HUNDRED $ for a piece of plastic that can be bought at any pharmacy for $10.

Talking to the billing department is a time-consuming and ultimately unfruitful task. They will only talk to you for as long as they can further their agenda of establishing that it s your fault for doing what the doctor said and accepting the treatment in question. Otherwise they are very good at giving you the run-around, sending you to different departments for different information or saying that somebody will call you back, and then not doing it.

I gave this matter to an attorney. Will update what comes out of it.

I highly recommend Dr. Yanke! He has been the first doctor I have seen who has helped develop a solid plan for managing my osteoarthritis! I appreciate that Dr. Yanke has never told me that I have to stop doing the things I enjoy doing to stay active (like training for the NYC Marathon. I know that his interventions are strongly rooted in clinical research based on the level
care delivered by Dr. Yanke and his entire team!

I have had fantastic outcomes as a result of treatment from Dr. Shane Nho for hip labral repair and Dr. Simon Lee for arthritis in my big toe joint.

Surgery on my hip from Dr. Nho has allowed me to return to running, pain free! No need for a hip replacement and I can resume an active lifestyle. Beyond happy with my care and outcome.

Regarding my feet : My only disappointment is that I didn't find Dr. Lee sooner. I had a botched chielectomy on both of my feet by a podiatrist. Dr. Lee is helping with symptom control (pain). My recommendation to others is to see a podiatrist for orthotics, don't let them perform surgery on you. See an orthopedic surgeon for surgery, particularly Dr. Lee.

Dr. Nho and his team have been very professional and seem like they have a plethora of knowledge and resources to help solve my medical concerns and pain. The only reason I haven t put the 5 Star is simply because we have only had one meeting and initial tests run. But so far everything is awesome and my family and I are very appreciative.

Dr. Hamid is a wonderful doctor. From the very first time I saw him he recognized my condition and shared with me all my options. His professionalism, staff and services are exceptional. I am so glad that after a couple of years enduring countless orthopedic diagnoses that I finally found a doctor that got it right and has put me on a road of recovery and hope. Thank you! Wilma

I was very impressed by the way Midwest Orthopaedics utilizes the Best Talents, Knowledge and Skills in their employees. I even commented to the receptioniar thar O LOVED the way that he moved from the front desk to the examination room, prepping me for Dr Chen
my back doctor, who took the time to explain to me how the 5th & 6th Lumbar vertebrae had shifted a bit & how PT would make the correction. I told Dr. Cheng that I loved the fact that he is Sooo Smart! In total Dr. Cheng fashion, he said, "That's what we're here for-- to make You feel better."

He is truly a living example of a doctor, a man and human being who takes an oath to do no harm, seriously!

I could go on and on singing a million praises about Dr. Hamid but, I want you all to seek out his services and recommend him to others because he s a joy and pleasure to have as a doctor! Dr. Hamid embodies what greatness is and what ALL doctors should aspire to be!

Thank Dr. Hamid for all the FaceTime chats you did when I couldn t personally be in the office with my son and the phone call you made after to surgery to provide an update during COVID-19 when parents weren t allowed in the hospital!
I ll always be forever indebted to you for your kindness, grace and mercy!

We have had a very pleasant experience with Dr. Verma and staff in dealing with a most difficult injury that required a rather extensive rotator cuff surgery. He has been extremely professional throughout the entire process, patiently and willfully answering all questions. The post-opp is 3 mos. out, all is going well, and having followed their instructions, am anticipating a full recovery. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Verma to anyone that has sustained a shoulder injury.

My TKR from Jan.5 by Dr. Kara's was very successful. Very minimal pain during a very short recovery. Did not need a walking device. Totally happy with care at Rush University Hospital. Was able to walk a brisk mile at 18 days out. Dr. Kara's is a great surgeon and very kind doctor.

I could not have expected a a better outcome and service from the staff at at Midwest Orthopaedic and Dr Verma. Dr. Verma is an amazing surgeon. I experienced very little pain following my ACL surgery and began in physical therapy in 2 days. I was off my crutches in the matter of days and walking without a brace within two weeks. Due to the lack of down time I was able to gain full control of my knee within one month following surgery. I performed physical therapy at a very aggressive rate and obtain full control of my knee and was released back to work sooner than expected. Cosmetically, it is hard to tell that I had surgery and you would need to look close to notice the incision sites. My sincerest gratitude to dr. Verma and his staff.
