BEWARE of price gouging and being handled like an object on an assembly line.

I was here for a simple diagnostic of a dislocated joint.

Dr. Mark Cohen spent about 20 seconds with me. He said everything would be fine according to the pictures and that we re going to give you a splint . He got up and left without leaving room for asking any questions. In fact, he was done and got up before the resident even got there.

Besides the other incredibly high medical charges, the splint ended up costing nearly $400. FOUR HUNDRED $ for a piece of plastic that can be bought at any pharmacy for $10.

Talking to the billing department is a time-consuming and ultimately unfruitful task. They will only talk to you for as long as they can further their agenda of establishing that it s your fault for doing what the doctor said and accepting the treatment in question. Otherwise they are very good at giving you the run-around, sending you to different departments for different information or saying that somebody will call you back, and then not doing it.

I gave this matter to an attorney. Will update what comes out of it.
