New restaurants are overpriced and are terrible quality and none of the water fountains work. The buses are constantly late and broken down causing you to miss flights.

The travel experience was good. Get off the plane, getting bags and shuttle to the rental car facility was easy. Lots of places to eat and drink inside.
Concessions are awful since they changed outout vendors. No Starbucks. No ice cream. Just had worst latte ever from Cafe L'ESPRESSO. Downgraded food selections with changes made in recent past.
This airport is a total zoo. Our gate for a flight to Philadelphia was changed 3 times in less than an hour. At the last minute the airport officials realized that they had scheduled two flights at the same gate at the same time...which is ridiculous. Many flights are delayed, gates are constantly changing and people are all over the place all headed in different directions. Midway is much too small for how many flights are coming in and out. For some odd resin, people kept dropping their boarding passes without even noticing, which caused major delays. I saw this happen 4 times during my 90 minute layover. On the bright side, there are many good "in-n'-out" shops and nice bar resturants to enjoy in all terminals. Overall, some cleaning, flight reductions and organization could make Midway a much more place to fly out of or have a layover, as I was connecting on a Southwest flight route Portland, OR to Philadelphia, PA.
great airport. many african migrants arrive sick with possible ebola here.
track ebola virus ebola outbreak map . com
This is one of my favorite airports because of Manny's Deli. It's by far the best pastrami on rye of any airport I've had. MDW is pretty busy, but quite efficient.
Edit to add:. All the restaurants have switched and it's absolutely terrible now. Even Reiley's daughter isn't run by the family anymore. There isn't a single place to eat here that's worth a darn. Manny's is gone. Such a shame. Eat before you come to the airport.
I guess I was satisfied. SouthWest Airline was good service and so far so Good no delays. While travel to Los Angeles it was a bit nervous cause it was my first time & You can't pick your own seats so i couldn't even sit next to my own parents, i had to sit by strangers which was pretty weird.
Agree with Brian. New restaurants are a big let down. Wife and I used to share a massive burger at the Illini grill, but now they are tiny by comparison. No onion rings, no Tillamook cheddar cheese, and today they don't have any beers on tap. So disappointed. We used to wait to eat until we got to the airport. Won't make that mistake again. One star even though Nuts on Clark is still open.
Usually for bargain airlines. This is a rough part of town and this airport is a bit rough.
Horrible! SLOW...slow....and slow!!! Employees talk amongst themselves instead of getting passengers thru.
Security here seems to move much smother than most other airports.
If you're ever flying out of this airport, bring your own food.
I found most of the airport employees to be very rude!! Very impatient and completely unknowledgeable. Few food options, hamburgers, pizza, and a Irish restaurant, oh yea you can get a hotdog. Most of these places are repetitive throughout the airport.
Besides the lack of decent people that work at these or places, the airport has very low ceilings and tight walkways throughout the various terminals.
While they can improve on the structure, not sure how you can teach their employees manners as well as common sense!
No priority lanes since October. If you are a first class member with priority on any or all airlines, you lost your status with TSA. As TSA doesn't notice any first class business travelers and wants you to now pay $80 if you wanted to be treated as a business traveler that visits this airport every week. My TSA times went from 10 minutes now to a pathetic 45 minutes
This airport has grown so much over the last 30 years. I was a flight attendant here in the 80's. I don't like they have moved the car rental companies off site. Allow plenty of time to locate them we you are return the car or you might miss your flight.
But you can't visit it without getting some Garrett's Popcorn! The airport is easy to get around, the restaurants are just OK...but get a hot dog! your in Chicago!
Restrooms are clean, but the airline counter people are not the friendliest and many their English still needs some help. So they should stay off the intercoms.
What have you done Midway? You went from one of the small well run airports with decent food in the country to now simply the worst. And why did you need to change all of the light bulbs in these restaurants to bad 4000k led's? If it was to make the food and the people look bad it worked!
One of 2 passenger airports in the Chicago area and it is the smaller of the 2.
I like it because it s more in the neighborhood and closer to my family PLUSSSSSSSSSS the flights tend to be cheaper flying into and out of Midway.
Lots of eateries and mini-stores to get nice tokens albeit souvenirs or whatever tickles your fancy.
Once again, it has the U-shape of most modern airports; which makes entering and exiting all the easier.
Loved seeing Chicago Police on duty and in place because as I was exiting, I saw a sight taking place, hope everything worked out for the individual.
You're TSA sucks and it takes you forever to unload luggage. Bigger airports are fast and more productive than you. Small airports run more efficiently. Step it up.
food sucks, everything is disgusting i got served hard pasta with hair in it.
i found atleast 4 strands of hair in my food. then i was served raw fish, and i felt queasy for the whole flight.
awful airport, would recommend driving 24 hours to another major airport.
I fly in, I fly out. No delays, less busy than O'Hare.
I always choose Midway over O'hare when I have a choice in flights. It's a lot slower here. Shorter lines. Quicker shuttles and car rentals.
They have directories for food, mother's room, and yoga room. Easy to find and navigate, lots of bathrooms and it's a good experience here even though it's a fairly large airport.
I always have exceptional service here. They have the best food even though it s kind of expensive sometimes. I have never had a bad experience at this airport.
It is one of the slowest airports I have ever visited, including some third world ones. Be prepared to spend hours in security lines. Nothing seems to be planner here.
Have not had a bad experience yet. Long walk to the "L" but most inexpensive way to travel to downtown.
The FASTEST airport I ve ever been to. It always takes me less than 10 min to get through security. Very easy to find your way around and chargers at the gates.
Ate at a horrible burger joint True Burger. And they gates they posted on our tickets don't match the actual gate when we went to board.
I used to hate to fight to get in and out of Midway, but, with the current regulations, the airport is a breeze to get in and out of, even at prime time. Sitting having a cocktail at Harry Caray's, waiting for my departure is a far cry from the stress that air travel used to bring. It's like first class treatment no matter what.
Best airport ever, fast service, great friendly TSA agents, and best airlines "Southwest" with least down time service. In addition, the city of Chicago make the airport clean, safe, and makes you want to fly always out of Midway and the airport very close to the beautiful Windy City :)
Of the two primary airports in Chicago, this one has its unique charms.
I can't believe they got rid of PotBelly's. That was the best PotBelly location and the best sandwich in the world. I purposefully take layovers in Chicago to eat here. What a disappointment.
New restaurants are absolutely terrible. Whoever decided to make these changes should be embarrassed. I will choose Ohare for my business travel from now on.
I never have an issue with getting to my gate on time - and I'm always running late. The one time there was a huge line, it was very structured and still ran quickly.
A clean airport with tons of good food. The Breakfast sandwich are awesome, with a croissant, with bacon and eggs. The flights were clean and relaxing. The food might be a bit pricey, but it's worth it. Highly recommend it.
Midway airport gets 4 stars for 1 reason and 1 reason only, I LOVE SOUTHWEST AIRLINES and this is the only airport they utilize in Chicago! If it wasn't for Southwest, I don't know if I'd ever go to Midway. Their food concessions have been horrendous the past several years, but they are in the middle of doing a major overhaul to their concession vendors, so that may be much improved by 2020. Until then, don't expect much in the way of food options at Midway.
Midway is a very small airport, especially compared to O'hare, so it's really easy to get in and out, and they have close and affordable off-site parking at Midway Park Saver - a five minute walk to the airport, or the shuttle garage is a great covered parking option for a reasonable $16/day.
The airport looks a bit run down, but again, they're getting ready to go through a major renovation, so it should look and feel much nicer in a year or two.
Not enough seating at gates and few bars. Security used to be good but now they have 3 tsa precheck lanes that are consistently empty (6 tsa officers to man the empty lanes) and then the rest of the very full lines. On a good note the bathrooms at midway always seem to be clean.
It is a decent airport. Food options are not all that great, it is busy, if you need peace and quit head over to terminal C, nothing is over there.
Things I don't like, the bathrooms have No modesty panels between the urinals, disgusting. And absolutely no place in the building has Diet DrPepper, disappointing.
The waiting areas are tiny and cramped.
Bot enough seats for the passengers and their bags, since everyone has to put their extra bags in the seat next to them.
The major plus is Southwest.
Since Southwest is my preferred airline, if I go to Chicago I usually end up at Midway. Aside from that, it is a very nice airport.
It's certainly not as big as O'Hare, which makes getting around very nice. It also has better food choices (though I think there should be some Chicago deep-dish pizza offered someplace). I also love the fact that there is an active USO inside the secure area.
On my last trip, I took the Orange Line from Midway to Downtown. That was very convenient and only cost $3.00. At 9am, it was cheaper and faster than a taxi.
This airport does not have a single chain-restaurant. All of the food options are gross and extremely overpriced. Please bring back a major restaurant like McDonald s or something. No one likes the options that are available.
FYI security doesn't open until 4am so if you have an early flight you want to be early as the line gets quite long
Nice airport, with a few food options. Not to big and pretty easy to get around.
If your out of state and need to rent a car the cheapest option is to rent from a airport to airport
The airport keeps you informed, however there wasn't an anouncement for our gate change until we arrived at the listed one which was way down the concourse. We had to turn around and back down and put to another concourse.
Walking past the currency exchange. The representative was very unhelpful to a customer. The customer believed his exchange amount on a machine was incorrect. She quickly and abruptly responded" I have nothing to do with that"!!! Really!!! How about giving the man a customer service numbee!!.
Clean, tidy and easy to use ... Very good if you live in the south of the city
Much larger and with a lot more retail than I remembered. Of course I arrived near the far end of one concourse and had to go the the far end of another to catch my connecting flight. Oh, for the days when Midway seemed small!
Airport itself is easy to navigate, bathrooms are clean
Never have had any issues. Fast through security when properly prepared. Easy drop off and pick up with the exception of major holidays (go figure) and quick to any gate.
Quick and easy. Typically no delays and always staffed appropriately.
Friendly staff despite not getting paid! Very clean airport
Love taking Midway now that we have a Frontier flight direct from Harrisburg. Great way to avoid the O'Hare traffic while still be situated close to downtown.
Why is it such a secret for where the rental car shuttle is found? I could find no signs around baggage claim to show which door and on what level to find the shuttle. If you change from lower to upper and then back to lower, please provide much better signage.
Watched luggage guy throwing luggage around like crazy. hope nothing important was in those bags
The flight was nice. Got some donuts from Dunkin donuts at about 4am they were not fresh and hard. I thought at that time of the morning the donuts would be fresh. They tasted and felt like they been there for days. When you pay $5.12 for 4 donuts you expect them to be fresh.
Then I went to another spot in the airport bought $23 in breakfast ask for a bag and was charged seven cents. Damn is the airport doing that bad? C'mon man I buy food and gotta pay for a bag, what is this a new form of Aldi's inside the airport.
Just straight up greedy!!! And terrible customer service!!!
If flying to or from Chicago, do yourself a favor and avoid O'Hare Airport, which can be a nightmare. Use the little Midway airport instead, if at all possible. You'll be in and out in a fraction of the time, and it's MUCH closer to downtown. Midway is one of my all-time favorite airports.
If you need a coffee, Dunkin seems to be the only option. This is the only airport left in the developed world without a Starbucks. Food offerings are a poor representation of one of the greatest foodie cities in the world.
Slowest luggage service of any of the airport's I frequent. Seriously, in 2016, it shouldn't take more than 20 minutes to get bags out.
Easy to navigate and has a few interesting nooks for relaxing before a flight. However, I have never met TSA agents so unfriendly and abrasive ever. Also, food is very expensive in the terminal compared to my home airport.
My flight landed @ 11:58pm!! It is now 12:40AM I am STILL waiting in baggage claim for my luggage. Just horrible. No one has come out to atleast update us on what s going on. This is a late flight the last thing I want to do is wait an additional 45min- 1hr for my luggage!!!! Never again.
Bathroom lines always long, best thing about it was Potbelly's now that's gone too!
comfortable place apart from the social distancing. no place to sit
Awful airport; there are VERY limited and poor choices for food
I have a question, if my luggage is being held by security and not through the lost and found. Who can I call or where do I go to see what time they close without showing up for no reason??
Love this airport! I always feel welcomed by the staff..Very clean and an amazing atmosphere. Great job and thank you to all the staff who are friendly!
The airport is fine, the wifi is absolutely broken. Don't expect internet access, even if you pay for it. Boingo ruins everything.
I came to Chicago for a connecting flight. I was at a sandwich shop in the B section where the staff just continued to talk to each other instead of paying attention to the customers. I understand being friends and talking to coworkers, but you are there to service people. One guy just left. I wanted to stick it out because I couldn t find another place that had strong coffee. I asked for a simple vanilla latte with soy. I was given an iced filled cup of regular coffee, no vanilla, and regular milk put in. I stood there trying to get one of them to pay attention. After waiting five minutes, I went to the cashier and hand set it down and left. It was not the only thing that I had wanted to get there, but I was so frustrated by my experience thus far I chose to go without coffee and food. The only reason I gave two stars is because a lady at the sports shop tried to help me while I was looking for a bears shirt. She was super kind and helpful! I wish the other ladies at the food place had the same views in customer service as she did.
ALF : init boot adidas /// town walking sport up 2miles Ya
I don't know if it always smells like this, but the food court smells (as best I can describe) like an obese sweaty man wearing stained sweatpants and a yellowing ribbed tank top. The food is grossly overpriced (but what's new, it's an airport. Capitalism at its' finest). The overhead PA is also very quiet. Better listen up to hear when your gate gets changed or delayed.
big airport, I think this is convenience place, I enjoyed there
The check in was awful, workers need customer service training. Yelling will get you no where especially on Christmas Eve. I m sorry you have to work but don t be rude. Worse airport ever
Whoever decided to get rid of all the good restaurants made a very poor decision. NO ONE likes the new restaurants. They're awful. Also, financially, it was a really dumb move. there was much more business at those good restaurants, and More business = more money towards the restaurant and the airport. Additionally, the ratings of this airport are going to significantly come down. Seriously though, who came up with that idea???? There were multiple McDonalds, a potbellys, and other restaurants, and now, they're all gone and replaced by random restaurants that NO ONE likes
Other than the restaurants, the airport itself is okay. Not great, but not horrible. Security wasn't bad at all. The moving walkways are very efficient and the airport is fairly easy to get around. It could definetly use a renovation, but I've seen worse.
But fr though, put the good restaurants back!!!
Two bartenders all about taking a dinner break when the guests haven't ordered yet. Over loaded on service bar showing white tickets to other bartender. Not very relaxing.
