Decent airport with options for dining and drinks ...

Decent airport with options for dining and drinks that aren't horrendous.
I got here alive. Fast Flight. Would fly here again.
The airport needs to fix its shuttles to the economy parking garage. There is a reason people avoid parking in the economy garage. It is 20 minutes per shuttle while the Rental Car Shuttles are waiting in a queue. The Rental Car Shuttles and Economy shuttles should be combined. Or install a tram that serves both.
Midway removed all the good options Restaurants. Like Pot Belly Sandwich and evening Mc Donald s, a kids favorite. Now the walkways are crowded by a huge high cost restaurant. They Didn t even take travelers into consideration. The food doesn t represent Chicago gastronomic delights one would expect. Must be more chicago pay to play politics. Travelers weren t considered. Sad.
The parking enforcement was very mean and didn t want to explain where regular cars go to pick up your family. He hopped out of his vehicle and got in my face saying don t argue with me when I specifically told him I don t know anything about Midway can he assist me.
A beautiful airport at the height of the city's reputation
Terrible food options. No recognizable chains other than Dunkin Donuts.
Mostly quick in and out when getting dropped off or picked up.
Nice airport for easy in and out & Southwest is the perk here. Food, however is very disappointing. Have tried a handful of restaurants, but each one is lacking in every way possible. The salads are completely false advertising (no avocado, bacon bits, fully cooked seasoned chicken strips, etc). True Burger served me a Grilled chicken Sandwich with cheese and it was COLD, not even warm. Why rush to fill orders when you can t serve what you are charging the customers for? Highly recommend people bring their own food.
Pretty good service given its one of the busiest in the country. Train connection is very convenient
If you are landing from overseas, by no means should you have less than 2 hours to make your connecting flight. The airlines will book you with 1 hour, and you WILL NOT MAKE IT! This airport funnels every international flight into a room not large enough to handle it. Young girls are standing around yelling at everyone to KEEP MOVING, even though there is no indication of how or where??? It is probably the worst system of getting through customs I've seen anyplace on earth. Also, once you're through that nightmare, you get to ride a hot smelly bus to the next terminal.
Midway has improved over the years. Last time I was there was like 15 years ago and it was hard to get around. This time was more smooth and easy to get thru security. Nice airport and had plenty of places to eat.
Very clean airport , great location the train can take you right away to downtown Chicago (orange line)
The only con is the is alone up for security
Make sure go in advance just in case you need to pass the security minimum 30 minutes
Food prices somehow even more ridiculous than most airports. Water fountains have no pressure, forcing your mouth uncomfortably close to the faucet.
I like Midway.. Its like the South Side neighborhood airport. If you blink you may miss it when driving past. I have flown in and out of here dozens of times. Security is fast and it is easy to get to from the orange line or a number of CTA and pace buses.
This is Chicago's smaller international airport. It's much closer to downtown and you get in and out fairly quickly. Several major airlines have flights to/from here, but you might as well say Southwest owns the entire airport (they are based here).
Very clean. Easy to navigate. Staff was friendly and prices were airport expensive, but not unreasonable.
They don't have a kids play area, no restaurants or shops open after 10pm. So you would think they would at least have vending machines, but nope, they dont have those either.
I m being nice the airport is in kios due to the remodeling .
Catholic chaple by the concourse between 2 and 3.
And I had a great burger.
Slowest, worst TSA security management of any airport in the eastern United States. I am based in Chicago and fly out every week to somewhere east or south. Midway is much closer and more convenient for me, and oftentimes the flights are cheaper from there, but I never know if the security line will be 45 minutes or 2 hours plus.
So I fly O'hare just for consistency.
On top of this, their TSA agents are short, gruff and downright rude. I have to assume this is a management issue since TSA guidelines must be somewhat standardizes and I've breezed through security in much smaller, yet busier airports. On top of that, their parking garage is undersized so if you have to go to the outer lots, you're adding an extra 20 minutes of time and walking on gravel parking lots carrying your luggage.
If at all possible, stay out of Midway until they fix this -- or just plan to get their 3 hours early to hedge your bets.
Miller's Pub has the rudest service I have ever seen. Everyone from the person that takes your order, the mean girl handing out the food to the rude bartender. Very uncomfortable!!!
Chicago Midway is another airport that I've either taken off from or flown through too many times to count. This airport could benefit from an update, but there is construction and signage all around about modernizing it. Overall I really can't complain, there are plenty of local and chain food/retail options. As a plus the employees I've interacted with have been very helpful and friendly. Even on the occasions when I've arrived at Midway to a long line at security, it still seems to move quickly enough. There is also easy access to the CTA Orange Line which will get you to the downtown loop where you can transfer to the Metra in about twenty minutes or so. Compared to most airports you're set when you take off or land.
Much better experience than O'H. Smaller and closer to town. TSA seems friendlier there too.
Overall would not recommend to anyone. Very small and congested. TSA off the charts the rudest unprofessional group to the multitude of families I experienced without a supvsr around to pursue the issue. I have been in LE for 23yrs and I understand the frustrations on occassion, but the overall attitude was unsatisfactory. The food court was lame at best with limited selection and seating. The food was not worth eating unless starving. Ironically this was my families first impression of Chicago and overall the local attitude was poor and lazy to keep it mild and g rated. I know there are wonderful people and the aforementioned alike, but this was the general consensus amongst families in conversation and if there a zero rating it would have been clearly selected.
Get your walking shoes on!
MDW is a nice airport with lots of food options, but plan on walking a lot. O'Hare (ORD) and MDW have long expanses of space with no people walkers. I had my gate change twice on a recent flight and got over 8,000 steps in the airport alone. At least I got some exercise as part of it!
"SUCESSFULL LIFTOFF AND LANDING EASY SRRIVAL AND CONVIENIENTLY GENTLY ACCESS TOO CHICAGO SOUTH BROOKS
Smaller than O'Hare airport in Chicago, so its much easier to catch connections. Don't overlook this place when flying into Chicago
I love flying southwest but I'm giving them 3 because of how slow it takes to go through security. It didn't use to be this way hope they change back because how they had it roped going around in circles was the stupidest way ever. It wasted a lot of time.
Good food though people are not nice and won't answer your questions
Food options ok. Real problem is seating: gates don't have enough chairs for a flight full of people, so the terminal is full of people sitting on the floor. Some gates have fancy new faux-leather seats with built-in power outlets...that don't work. If the charging stations are a lie, might as well have old-fashioned chairs that would seat more people.
It was ok, flight delayed 30 mins, NASTY BATHROOMS, I WALKED IN THERE ABOUT 15 MINUTES AFTER THEY CLEANED AND THE TOILETS/URINALS REIKED OF PEE
MDW is a more accessible airport than ORD. Wifi is impossible to get, dont even try. Sometimes Boingo will do a 'tsa wait time' survey (they give you a timecard at start of the line and take it at the end) for free wifi code. Terminals are isolated so if you want a store in a different terminal- forget about it.
Southwest is the only redeeming quality this airport has. The food used to be great but now nothing but mediocrity and sadness. Whoever re did the food here needs to be fired. Why would anyone want a pizza joint that pulls their food ready made from a freezer, Or a burger joint that is TRUly as bland as it possibly gets. If it weren't for frequent delays, I would never eat here, but that's what they're counting on.
Got rid of all the restaurants in the airport, for flights only
I've had some pretty horrible airport experiences and they've all been at midway. Most recently I arrived at 3:45 for a 5:30am flight and was greeted with a two hour security line that stretched all the way back through the airport to the moving sidewalks near the train station. I missed my flight and arrived at 3:30 pm when I was supposed to be there for a 9am meeting.
Generally not that bad but sometimes this airport really screws up
Always hated having a layover here. Very uncomfortable and tacky outdated airport. I hear it's under construction which is good so hopefully next time I get stuck at this place it will be better.
Awesome little airport! Great view during take offs and landings! Easy trip to the car rental building!
Easy airport to navigate, but it looks like it needs more employees...
Good airport lest congested than Ohare, Only airlines are Southwest Delta and Volaris
The TSA staff was HORRIBLE!!!!!
Management should be ashamed to understaff TSA on a Friday. Stood at the security belt for 20 minutes waiting fo someone to check bags. Unacceptable!!!! A porter shared with me that while I complained it was the norm from his perspective.
Amazing service! CJ was an exceptional help when we needed him. We will be back because of him!
You know, it's not the worst airport, and for me it's easy to get to from the red line to the orange line however, it's a terrible place to be stuck with a layover or a delayed flight. At least O'hare has airport lounges and decent restaurants. Midway's security lines moves pretty quickly and it's less crowded and well laid out, however the food sucks and it looks like a dump. But hey, you decided to fly Southwest so you don't get an option.
I appreciate how this airport had #arami @chicago #airport! There weren t many food places at the gate I got off of but I found this place! It was fresh and yummy! Loved it! But, I ve always liked this airport except when our plane gets delayed of course!
I do not fly often so sometimes I don't always understand some procedures. But there was a TSA agent at security who literally spoke to me with a huge attitude and spoke as if I was a child. She was extremely rude and embarrassed me by yelling that I hadn't done something right. I told her I was sorry and that she didn't have to be so rude about it and she told me I was being too sensitive! Like, seriously??? I have already filed a complaint. I realize that most likely nothing is going to happen but still......there was NO need for that!
very busy airport, kind of overwhelming, but has everything you need
A question ?? Is there a lot of migration at that airport?
Southwest Airlines lacked communication and efficiency. My flight was delayed and had no idea why. There was no forewarning, no text, no email, or update to the Southwest apps.
For the most part this airport is big and pretty busy. You usually get through the lines quickly.
Midway is the best Chicago airport and also one of my favorites in general. First off, you'll probably be using Midway for Southwest which is a great airline. They have wonderful Customer Service and also cheap flights which makes (almost) everyone happy. Midway is a smaller airport in comparison to O'Hare, which makes it easier to navigate in a rush and also quicker to pass through security. There IS a Potbelly too, which is a great way to eat cheap while travelling. Only downside is there isn't free Wi-Fi as of yet, so if you're travelling for business with hopes of getting some work done, this could be a major downside for you.
How is it that MDW is one of the few remaining large airports to have pay wifi? If ATL can provide it, surely MDW can. I don't mind watching ads, even every 30 minutes, but as a business traveler, it is disappointing.
Chaos from beginning to end. The most unorganized and clueless TSA I've ever seen, it was a little frightening.
Midway is a nice Airport with easy accessibly. There are plenty of shops and restaurants for convenience, and easy access to the train/bus station, and cab/ Uber pickup.
From Hero to Zero solely due to the bone-headed move of taking the uber-convenient rental car vendors out of the terminal and into the death cab for cutie ride to hell "rental car center" off terminal. One used to be able to grab your luggage and go right to the rental cars ALL under the comfort of one roof in about a 2 min walk literally. No longer. Thanks Chicago idiots!
It was fine until one of the employees started screaming at me for just because I couldn t find the papers I found it 3 minutes later and she whispered finally like I was holding up the line which there where on 4 people in. Her name is R. Miller I read it from her nameplate she works at customer service.
A lot less hectic than the other airport in town. Unfortunately less flights come through here.
I hate driving there, it's difficult for me to navigate once I get there and i always miss a turn or get turned around. I'd take Ohare any day even with traffic.
Flying in, I had no complaints.
Flying out, this airport is ugly and has very limited food options. Basically impossible to find a quick bite.
There are no major fast food chains in the Midway concourses.
Lines for security were long, slow, and disorganized.
I don't care much for the long check in lines. I almost missed a flight because of the wait. Other then that I like midway. The food in there is great and the atmosphere is relaxing. It's also closer to home so short commute!
I've always flown out of Midway since I started flying with Southwest and I definitely don't regret it. It's much less hectic than O'Hare and it has a simpler layout to follow (since it's smaller). The only problem I've had with Midway is that at times there aren't enough seats at the gates to accommodate the passengers. This can especially be a problem for large families.
It s a basic, decent, ordinary airport.
They would really glow up if they renovated. I could tell that it s a tad dated by the bathrooms.
I feel like they need more restaurant and dining options. Especially on the A-Gate side.
I flew during the month of June, during the times of COVID-19. There were only three dining places open and the lines were terribly long due to the small selection of options.
Airport itself is great, food options are terrible. Bring back McDonald's for crying out loud, nobody likes the new places.
Favorite airport .in and out.easy parking, taxi stand amazing and traffic is moderate most of the time.BUT STARTERS AT THE AIRPORT ARE UNPROFFESIONAL AND RUDE .SPECIALLY THE MIDDLE LANE .SO GHETTO AND UNTRAINED .
Our plane was delayed pulling up to the terminal by at least 20 minutes. Then, we were delayed getting off the plane by 15 minutes because they were waiting for the walkway driver. Then, big surprise, our bags were delayed, as well. Not happy with Midway!
Thursday night and they only have ONE security line open. Ridiculously long lines due to poor management.
My airport of choice..despite the small runways. They always move the people along in a timely manner and I have yet to have any lost luggage. Keep up the good work. See you again this November.
So much better than ORD!! Very few delays if u fly southwest! Nice variety of shops & restaurants.
Midway is "way" better than O'Hare for domestic flights into and out of Chicago, including layovers, at least in my experience. They always seem to be updating the interior's decor, which is welcomed given the number of passengers served here. Try a Chicago style dog upon arrival. They're awesome. They put EVERYTHING on it. Word of caution, don't eat one prior to departure. Talk about bad breath in tight quarters.
I just had the stupidest experience. I missed my flight because TSA couldn't find a manager to make sure my food wasn't deadly. Thank you sooooooooo much
