Full service airport, tons of retail and dining options. The landings here are fun, strong crosswinds, coupled with fast approaches keeps pilots busy.

The slowest Dunkin Doughnuts I have ever been to is in Midways food court area. Comparing the DD at Midway to the one at O'hare is like comparing Usain Bolt to a one legged Chihuaha. The rest of the airport is acceptable, if you don't judge your review on the sloths at Dunkin Doughnuts.
This is a smaller but busy airport outside Chicago restaurant and amenities are lacking
The short runways make me nervous but they always seem to stop, so who am I to complain. The airport is small enough that it's possible to get to the right gate pretty quickly, unlike Atlanta where even a one-hour layover can be too short. Whenever I come here on a cross-country flight I think of Bon Jovi's "Living on a Prayer" because it's about halfway there.
Travel thru Midway all the time for past 13 years. Today(5/26/17), I go thru and ALL the restaurants have only Pepsi as their fountain drinks???Just here 3 weeks ago! WTH?? Why take away such choices? I don't eat at McDonald's much, but would have eaten there for a Coke product on ice. Who made the idiotic decision to go with all one beverage vendor??? How is limiting choice better?? Many people don't like or can drink Pepsi! Is that why McDonald's went away??The good Chinese place is now all Sushi with bottles of Pepsi. With no choices, you leave me no choice.... Will not be eating in your restaurants. More Dunkin Donuts is not considered a dinner choice...... BTW... You guys messed up! So glad O'Hare is another option!
Worst concessions ever. Crappy Pizza. We're in Chicago correct? Can't even get cheap Chinese food here. Outdated bars and restaurants with no room.
Airport are hard to review, because you really cannot like them at times. I actually preferred this airport over O'hare because of the security lines. I have always preferred smaller airports for this reason. Another thing I like about this airport is it location in terms of the city. You get to fly by the city on your way in or out, so that is plus. O'hare is so far out that you might not get that. If you take public transportation you got Orange line connected to the airport.
Airport is smaller than O'Hare which is nice when you need to get around. The runways are very short. As soon as plane comes down the brakes and thrusters have to come on. Makes for a rough landing sometimes.
Horrible selection for restaurants. It was good before. Why change it to this pitiful selection of places?
If you are dropping someone off or picking someone up, be prepared to be screamed at by people in some kind of uniform from the time you enter the airport until you leave. Even if your passenger is ready at curbside, and you stop for only 45 seconds to get their luggage in the trunk and get them in the car, you will be screamed at the entire time. Really, they don't want you to enter the airport property in your own car at all.
Love this airport as long as you get TSA pre check, fast and efficient.
This airpirt is nice but it is very busy and i got delayed and the food is very exspensive i got 2 borritoes for $38.98 wich i thought was exstreamly over priced, but the service was GREAT they were funny and really kind
The only problem I had was arriving or leaving after orange line service ended for the day, but with uber being allowed to come to the airport now that's no longer a concern. If you're flying Southwest, check out that Roadside check-in. It'll shave hours off your time. Which is invaluable at busy times.
Ugly, old, dirty, hard to get to. The only reason to use this airport is Southwestern Airlines. Otherwise, you are far better off flying in and out of O Hare.
Great experience flying in here. Easy to get around, the bathrooms are clean and perfect access to public transportation. Finally, I didn't get lost in the airport.
Shite airport..poor commute expeirence. The only redeeming factor is southwest flies from there
Security check in services are quick and the staffs are customer friently .While on boarding they give preference to parents with infants . Thats good ,at the same time they are not consider the senior citizens as preference required category . They may consider this also as an obligation
Kicking back with a nine hour layover because of a delayed flight. It's 11:39pm and the place is deserted. The shops and eateries are shuttered. Zamboni-floor cleaners have finished their rounds and there's nobody to be seen. Only the squeaking of the fast-walkway can be heard, it's rubber-on-metal cries keeping my ears company as I sit here....waiting for dawn.
Nowhere to charge phones itty bitty little kiosk with a few charging stations
Shitty food and service. But pretty good security lines. And rarely have any delayed flights.
Great airport, rush hour traffic is a major problem, plan ahead.
I received great service during my travel to Colorado.
Just haven't been a fan, extremist when it comes to the flight attendants who are amazing yet the front desk help have no regard for customer service or in my opinion lack of manners, but that's non of my Buissness. In a day and age where you should be polite and kind this company is short and rude to there clientele.. It's unfortunately a disgrace.
I was highly impressed! I ve had such a hard week and TSA was so gracious and kind ! Southwest was as well which I already expected but I was highly impressed with TSA and their customer service skills. They need to train O Hare with their kindness.
There is a cool plane art piece above the check in desks. If you have time to kill, chekc out the description to learn about the history of airplanes. Security was quick, people are nice, and the orange line takes you straight to the city.
Food and beverage options are overpriced and of low value.... A .98 cent package of gummy bears is 4.29 in the terminal along side an extreme markup on all products. Ridiculous.... This has nothing to do with the airlines operating but rather the crooks running the terminal
Live feedback is not accurate LGA @ 3 pm is crazy busy and it says it is not busy at all!
As long as you like Southwest this airport is great. Much nicer and easier to get around than O'hare, easy transportation to downtown.
What happened to Potbellys? It was always busy every time I came through midway so I don't know how they could have run out of business. To top it off they replaced it with this nasty pizza place called home run inn that is just horrible. I literally just finished my pizza from there and it was probably the worst I've ever had. Avoid that place like the plague, better yet just eat at potbellys or somewhere in the city before you get here because there is like nothing good at the airport anymore. It's all just a lot of overpriced places that are gross.
Used to be way better at this airport; better employees, faster security, WAY better food selection (they even took away McDonald's, the only convenient option here), and an overall more efficient airport compared to O'Hare. Security is now way slower, the food options are horrendous, and the roadways are always congested. Never though I'd say this, but O'Hare is starting to look like a better place to fly out of.
FLY OHARE AND NOT HERE!!! I have flown through lots of airports and by far this is the worst airport I have ever went through. Usually TSA is not the best but man this whole group sucked. Only one person was understanding to the situation I was faces with.
Midway is much smaller than O Hare. We had about an hour to kill before our flight to Tampa and there wasn t much in the way of dining or shopping. That being said it was very clean and organized. My only other problem with this airport is that it seems there s a lot less runway for the planes when they land so you tend to have a slightly tougher landing than O Hare.
Not sure if the airport is promoting a customer friendly agenda I was surprised how big the airport is. From the outside it doesn't look that big, but once your inside you can get lost.
This airport is typically cheaper than O'Hare, but also way out of the way. It is not as easy to get to or from once arriving. Price may be right, but not worth the hassle.
This is far from a pet friendly airport. You have to walk a mile RT to get to the pet relief area then you have to come back through security to get back to the gate. What happened to the mandated pet relief areas at the gates,
Great little airport. Good food selections. Parking is easy and not too expensive.
Their security lines are always too long. Their system does not work. They need a overhaul. One of the worst airports I been to. Their conveyor belt system clearly does not work. You have to put all your items in a bin including your luggage and the conveyor belt takes your items at separate times so you lose your items in between other people's stuff. It's just a stupid system. Get rid of it.
The TSA staff in the morning was quite unfriendly. When I was towards the front in line about to provide my ticket and id to the TSA staff and what not, another TSA employee pointed at new line being formed and looked in my direction. To verify that it was me being asked to move to this new line and not the individual before or after me, I pointed at myself expecting to get a 'yes' or 'no' nod. Instead, I got a "Yes you. Am I speaking english?" The tone was extremely ill-mannered, condescending, and belittling. When I had to scan my ticket on my phone, I had trouble focusing because of the prior event and got another rude remark from another TSA employee - something along the lines of "YES, like that." A few other TSA workers looked annoyed at me as I passed through the line until I started to sob. I actually saw one woman's face go from disgust to concern in a matter of seconds. None of these employees knew I had been experiencing episodes of my severe depression prior to these events, and the experience became a high powered trigger for me. I spent an hour crying off and on in my terminal waiting for my flight. In all of my experiences at airports, I have never had one this awful. I really really don't want to come back to this airport if I ever choose to visit Chicago again.
not a single complaint save that they could have more power outlets (which is really a complaint you would make at every airport in North America).
Loads of food options and a few decently healthy ones as well, security was quick and breezy and the tsa agents here had a great sense of humor (must be the southwest culture rubbing off).
Also closer then O'hare and less daunting (if you find O'hare daunting, I don't).
When it comes to airports in Chicago, I prefer this airport rather than O'Hare. I actually avoid O'Hare Airport like I avoid the plague. This airport has quicker security, less crowds, and an overall better flying experience.
Great airport, multiple choices for food and stores.
Lots of food options, usually quick security & easy navigation.
Restaurant options are expensive and horrible otherwise it's a great airport
Nice airport, clean, good food choices, not much to complain about. The area it's in is not the greatest but the airport itself and rental car experiences have always gone well
Expect your flight to be delayed, leaving you in a crowded airport with poor restaurant choices.
We'll my aunt lives here in front of the airport well sort of okay she lives near the airport there we go OK so first its to noisy like seriously I can't go outside cause once my 4 year old brothers and sisters there 6 of them same age they start yelling screaming I don't like that to noisy and I live with my aunt
Smaller airport. Easy to get to, but the surrounding area is a bit sketchy
Pretty good got in and out fast ! Ohare has too many delays so I opt for this airport not bad
This airport is easy to navigate. However, we hope the new renovations will include more bathrooms (they all had lines) and more local restaurants.
Recently changed the restaurants, not a good change at all, Wifi is un usable. Absolute Garbage. Turning into a third rate airport quickly.
MDW TSA SUCKS!!! I have never been treated so horribly at any other airport locations as I have been treated in my own hometown. I'm vegan and they threw my food away when it was not liquid, it was lentils (beans), leaving me to starve till I got to my next destination after I explained I was expecting and there were no vegan/vegetarian restaurants at the airport to feed my unborn child and I was hungry. I spoke to deaf ears. Next experience I had again with MDW TSA was doubting my temp ID after I showed the old ID alongside, and stated I recently changed my name from my maiden to married. After a long wait and i was finally cleared, i got to screening where I explained to the TSA that I had to go to the ladies room because I was expecting and baby was on my bladder, so could he please do me a favor by scanning just my shoes so I can use the bathroom then return for the rest of my belongings when he got to it. His response was NO. So I walked to the bathroom barefoot, I think that was the height of it for me. Using a public restroom barefoot ...when will this harrassment STOP!!! Someone needs to get the whole TSA team retrained, it's not fair to be harassed and not feel I can use the bathroom like every other human. I was embarrassed walking through the airport good court barefoot, then use the bathroom....why should anyone be subjected to this? Someone needs to have this resolved because I travel a lot and I don't want to be treated like this a third time. I wish there was no star to be given. Very poor customer service for MDW TSA.
TSA were great people made it easy to get to the gate not like the ft.lauderdale airport
Unfriendly, or actually rude staff and crowded at the gate. What was positive: the metro is a great way to get from downtown to the airport.
Customer service is terrible my bags were stolen and I asked the officials and they were rude they didn't help and my overall experience was terrible O'Hare is way better
They sent us to the Wong baggage claim not. One not twice but 3 times
Good luck if vegetarian or vegan. The only salad place was removed for all seafood sushi options. And the HVAC PUB people couldn t be bothered to sell me fries (insisted on selling a meat sandwich or cheese/chili on top). These three ladies working there are flat rude. I know it doesn t matter what we say as customers because we re stuck and have to eat their food selections and put up with their rude attitudes. At least go anywhere but there please. They are lazy and rude, and made it personal.
If you hate your job so much why bother working? Is there a manager (that doesn t hate her job too)?
I have always enjoyed this airport. My recent experience was not the same as before. TSA was not friendly, and they did not have totes to put jackets, shoes, purses in, had to put them on the conveyor belt separately.
They have replaced several well known restaurants with restaurants I have never heard of. Stopped at Hvac pub, food was pretty good and the bartender was great, but a server by the name of Nalami was really rude and lazy. All she did was hang out at the end of the bar. Bartender asked her to come get our order and she wouldn't. Not going back there.
I made it through TSA with hardly any wait! Good restaurant options and I was really pleased with my sandwich from Manny's! Very quick and convenient airport.
Espresso machine is "broken" during breakfast shift. I highly doubt that. What's the point then?
It's not the airport but the Pour House restaurant and bar where I paid 17.50 for a black Russian in a plastic cup with six ice cubes and a drinking straw. (It's not a Pepsi but vodka and kulaha) It is the worst drink I have ever had! Do you know how tempted I was to take money out of the tip jar. I was P I S.....you know the rest. This must be UNHAPPY HOUR! Also read the health inspection. Avoid this place
Although it can seem overwhelming due to its size, it has everything you could possibly need in an airport and more. It seems to have an endless variety of restaurants, shops, and stores. It is modern, well organized, and clean. I have been through this airport many times and never had a problem.
Love this airport.
Not all the hustle busy Ohare airport.
Love using Midway.
Easy in and easy out.
Thank you midway airport.
Lots of retail shopping and foods available. The atmosphere is relaxing.
The airport was pretty busy. But there was free phone charging stations. but some people had to stand or sit on the ground, because there were not enough sits for them. But the airport was cool. BUT THE FOOD OPTIONS ARE BAD THERE BARELY ARE ANY FOOD. THERE WERE THIS RIPPED OFF PIZZA STORE THAT SELL PIZZAS FOR 10$ and the pizza were almost the size of my palms and i didn't order the kids pizza too. But the dunking donuts coffee was very tasty. Every thing else is Gucci
Airport ok but food choices worse in the world. Also the service at food places terrible. Home run pizza has 10 workers and had to beg to get service. Most just standing around.
This is much easier and quicker to move through than O'hare. It's smaller is a huge plus. Mostly Southwest flies in and out with a sprinkle of other airlines. Travel here is easy by car, bus or train (Orange Line). Getting through the TSA is generally quick but can backup on popular days. The downside is it has a long and pretty narrow path that everyone must go though. Aside from that it's clean, well lit with a decent amount of food options and outlets for charging devices.
One need to give a person a chance that just staring out with a new businesses. Event one had to start some where.
I can't lie, this is not my favorite airport. It's small and the only airline that flys direct there, for me, is Southwest. I also do not like Southwest. Generally the services are ok and it is easy to get in and out.
Fast check-ins, nice food court, TSA employee were nice and courteous.
Their drivers drive like maniacs. I ve given the benefit of the doubt twice and all three times I fear for my safety as a passenger. They need to hire better drivers. One Mexican driver almost hit a car twice because he wanted to take the red light. Awful drivers.
Clean and easy to navigate. I wish there were some better food options though.
I like there are no delays for your flight and baggage there is great it's always safe and Southwest airlines there is great and nice staff at the gate and they greet you and the options are great for food
Tsa here is probably the slowest, least organized tsa staff I have witnessed. They couldn t figure out which lanes to open. They could use a scheduling change. Maybe bring some in a little earlier? Was waiting in a crowded line and not distanced at all on 10/23 at 530 am The gates inside the airport are extremely small. Maybe a quarter to half the passengers are able to sit at the planes gate
It amazes me how people arrive here well under the standard 2 hours before flight and make the flight no problem! Easy to check in, get thru security and to the gate. I wish they had a Starbucks and/or more/better food and drink selections.
This is by far the biggest trash heap of an airport I have ever been to. The baggage handlers are lazy, the food is garbage, and the people are about as rude and inconsiderate as can be. Avoid this place like the plague.
Security line is always horribly long. Restaurant choices suck. And flights are quite often delayed.
Very out of date. Like i was trapped in the early 90's
Amazing lounges around to soend time on the layovers. My favorite airport!
This airport has improved since the last time I was there. There are more dining options but the food is a bit overpriced. They have good signage throughout the building and the numerous moving walkways are a big help in moving from place to place. The TSA officials do a good job in getting passengers through the checkpoints, but at times can be rude. Parking in their garage & economy lots is expensive so I recommend using the offsite lots that have an airport shuttle which brings you to the front entrance. Expect to contend with constant construction activity within the airport. Finally, the free wi-fi at the airport SUCKS; you will need to use the paid options if you want to use wi-fi there.
Gets busy. The airport is pretty much all southwest flights. Fairly easy to get from gate to gate.
Literally one nursing room for moms in the ENTIRE airport.. staff not helpful.. what a disgrace!
