I've been a Microsoft end-user since the latter 1980's when I used the family PC (then labeled as "IBM Compatible") to play games and complete homework. I started out with MS DOS and remember the commands used to navigate and display the contents of directories (now called "Folders") and access the various command and executable files that launched programs (now called "Apps").

My world was rocked when we got a copy of Windows 3.1. I recall SEEING my files in the OOED environment and creating shortcuts to easily launch my favorite software titles.

I was DELIGHTED to make the acquaintance of the early versions of MS Word and Excel in the early 1990's (I was HATING that unfriendly Word Perfect produced by those other guys). I remember meeting Windows 95 and my resulting shock and anger, soon to be replaced with acceptance and happiness (the Start button took some getting used to).

My use of the CTRL shortcuts to copy and paste became almost involuntary. I hailed the Format Painter as the new sliced bread. I functioned and formulated my spreadsheets to hyper-productive states of FURY! I oohhhhed and ahhhhhed my email recipients with fraction characters and degree symbols (ALT+...). I timed my slide transitions to superfly music, resulting in BAD TO THE BONE slide shows. I found multiple ways to skin the cats of file management.

I always found the Apple / Mac world to be so dull, limited, and frankly cult-like. I was all PC, all the way. Other than the tax code-like nature of Microsoft's reference books, I had no significant complaints about the Microsoft world.

But then, I bought a little Windows 10 machine and fell captive to the evil Update Monster who took my machine hostage at numerous, critical times, resulting in great inconvenience and frustration (and the awful degradation of my machine's performance). I grimaced as the silly Hello feature demanded a PIN that NEVER WORKED. My beloved, obsessively used OneNote became plagued with syncing errors between devices and platforms. And oh the system errors upon system errors! Why?!

My frustration gave way to bitterness and the resolve to find a new system. No, I didn't go the Apple way; I once had to heavily use an iPad at my old job and GOOD GRIEF it was a MISERABLE experience in minimalist mediocrity. No, I instead set my sites on the Chrome world.

The Android OS, discovered via one of my early smart phones, was like finding cold water in the desert. So much flexibility, clean interface, and consistent performance... I researched the Chromebook to death and found that while it had some quirks and idiosyncrasies that still deny it perfection status to this date, the reliable, SMOOTH performance and stability of its platform is second to none. From a cold boot, my bad little Chromebook can have me logged in and launching an app in ten seconds or less. Even my power-packed Samsung Galaxy phone can't get there that quickly.

Microsoft, oh Microsoft, please don't be content to become the aging, short-sighted Montgomery Ward of the software industry. Loosing sight of your customers' wants and needs and failing to listen to their feedback will only destroy your organization and yield your position to a competitor who DEMONSTRATES that the customer (and employee) is the true bottom line. Gone are your days of greatness; look how far you have fallen. I hope you can become great again and further advance the computing world. Please realize first that you're not entitled to have my future business; you'll instead have to earn it.

Gorgeous location. They have quite the campus, large soccer fields, interesting architecture, etc. Came here for a meeting, and used one of the conference room, and was quite pleased with the quality. Definitely love the cafeterias, and people here.

Hello Microsoft. I am using a DESKTOP COMPUTER with DUAL 24 INCH DISPLAYS and a LASER MOUSE, why do I have to click through HUGE Windows 10 settings menus that look like they are designed for a tablet? So much wasted space!! I have to scroll down a page that has only 6 clickable buttons because for SOME REASON you decided to place 2 more HUGE buttons below the fold.
WHY are the default settings so TERRIBLE? NO I do not want your stupid xbox app. NO I do not want my computer to update by itself. NO I do not want onedrive or see onedrive logos all over the place. NO I do not want the edge browser to pop up when I'm opening a link through a folder. NO I do not want notifications enabled. NO I do not want to use your stupid robot lady search engine. TOO MUCH TO LIST!!

I'M GIVING YOU 2 STARS INSTEAD OF 1 ONLY BECAUSE I DIDN'T HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS BROKEN PIECE OF SOFTWARE AND YOUR HEADQUARTERS LOOK PREEETTY COOL.

I ordered a laptop from Microsoft on Oct 2, 2017 with extra charge for one-day shipping. I received a package but it was a completely different device than what I ordered.

I called customer service right away, telling them I needed my laptop as soon as possible for work. The guy over the phone just promised to get back in 2 days, which I told him again that I needed the laptop as soon as possible and that was why I'd paid extra for the shipping. He said there was nothing he could do besides escalating this issue.

I called again and talked to a different rep by the name of Grace over the phone. Now she said the laptop that I ordered was out of stock (but somehow my purchase went through and they took my money). She asked me to spend more money to get a better, more expensive laptop. A 10% discount off the unit was offered to me with free shipping. She said that she had to charge me the full amount first before processing a refund for the difference and also the shipping fee.

I waited for two full weeks until Oct 16 to call and follow up because other than sending me the second unit (which I'd paid full price for), none of the promises were fulfilled by Microsoft. My first order was refunded but without the shipping cost, and I only got 5% off the second unit refunded instead of the promised 10%. The only response that I got when I called was they would escalate it again and I had to wait for another 24 hours.

I called back the next day just to hear them say they would escalate this again. I finally managed to speak to a manager by the name of Nick (he repeatedly refused to provide his full name), who told me they were NOT going to fulfill their promise after all and there was no point in calling them. Nick denied any knowledge of the 10% discount that was promised to me, even though the person I'd spoken with the previous day had told me it was written in the notes for this case.

I hope someone can help me to get this resolved. This is supposed to be easy. I was just trying to buy a laptop. I made the payment and it was all supposed to be done the next day. Instead, more than two weeks later, I still don't have all the refunds promised to me, even after wasting multiple hours on the phone with customer service. I'm disappointed, frustrated, and I don't think I'll make another purchase from Microsoft again. It's not worth the trouble.

Nice!

Great

MS has long shown disregard for its customer's time. It just became apparent to me that their support people are now poorly informed about their own product as well. I just bought a new PC which had 12 month's O365 included. When I followed the activation screens, I was given an error code. I reached out to MS support for a call back. MS agent (Priyamka) told me that the retailer was supposed to give me a product key. I left the phone call frustrated, anticipating that the retailer would not have such a key & more of my time would be wasted. Before contacting the retailer, I googled "activating o365 included in device purchase". This took me to a MS support page. Item three in the list clearly says the code is transmitted to me. With a little experimenting, I got there, no thanks to the Priyamka... whose time is evidently more valuable than mine.

My 8yr old autistic son made a purchase online, I found out a few hrs later. Called and got it taken care of. Then find out checking my bank statement I never received a refund for the purchase I did not make. Called told me my request was denied. They stole and lied to me as a customer and then used some terms of policy bs

Absolutely despicable business practices. I was looking for a different product to subscribe to (Visio) and discovered that Microsoft has been stealing money from me every month for some "Xbox Game Pass" that I never agreed to be billed for.
SIX MONTHS @ $11.99/month + tax
$75.54 I'll probably never see again.
You should be ashamed!!

We came here as fans of Microsoft. The overall setup for visitors is nice but small. It has some history of Microsoft and it's products as well as some of the newer technologies displayed. You can even play videogames with your friends or strangers.
Overall it was a fun experience but not as impressive as I'd hoped from Microsoft

Absolutely the worst phone and support service I h...

Absolutely the worst phone and support service I have ever dealt with for 365 Office. I have been on the phone with over 14 different call centers and 14 different people and continue to get transferred to person 15 now and still waiting . Started this at 10 AM this morning it is now 12:30 PM and still no answer. 2 1/2 hours to do this: All that I am trying to do is to simply update a incorrect typed email address and to replace a phone number from a previous work number to the current number for my 365 online account.
This is pathetic service and even worse service as each so called support employee tells me they are sending me to the correct person and then that person tells me they are not the person to talk to after waiting 20 minutes to talk to them and sends me to another 20 minute wait.
The bottom line if you ever make the mistake of changing your password to your 365 account and wish to then update your phone or email address you have to wait 30 days to change this information. I even called Redmond to no avail, they simply have there hard core rules and you will go with them, wait or go away, that simple. The most inflexible company I have ever dealt with the worst customer uncaring and foreign out side the US support ever experienced.

Very different workplace - open offices and a great campus with cafes, restaurants, basketball and soccer fields and many places to get out of the stuffy office desk environment and get the head clear again. The Microsoft campus is a very good example for how to gain high productivity - which is definitely not by locking up employees in cubicles without daylight for the maximum number of hours.

You guys are down right horrible I've been a loyal Xbox customer since the beginning and now you have just lost me due to the incompetence of your management and service support!!! There is no reason why a company that make billions of dollars cant help with a issue that wasn't even my fault!!! So I hope you guys are happy with your services!!! Please if you are thinking about getting any Xbox console don't in the end it will be a waste of money and they don't care if your loyal customers or not which is sad!!!

Must-visit places when in Washington. Microsoft Visitor center is a museum, filled with the history artifacts, fascinating library, and loads of new techy tools! We enjoyed playing "What dog are you?" game, driving a race car (check it out, amazing experience), and talking to the welcoming stuff. Pay attention to details. This is such a gem! Also, walk around, they have a huge green area for hanging out.

Cooosa? Mi aspettavo di vedere quello che ho letto sul vostro sito e invece mi ritrovo solo uno stanzino pieno di bambini che giocano all'xbox.

Non andateci se non conoscete qualcuno che vi faccia visitare qualcosa di decente.

Please stop shutting down/refreshing my computer without my permission. Please give the option of "never" so it will update when I shut down my computer at a time to suit me and not Microsoft.

Lied to and mistreated, worst customer experience I ve had with any company period.

Microsoft lost records of my purchase and said they had no evidence of me downloading a product, even though it was through their website.

The support manager promised me he would be able to correct the issue I had since the product had risen $20 since purchased. He then later stated it was a typo and refused to honor what he said. He also said he would give me a chat reference code to view the chat at a later date which he didn t. He also refused to connect me with his manager or give me the information of anyone above him in the company. After several lies, he eventually ended the chat.

It s amazing Microsoft has come to the point where they re going to try and stick it to the consumer over $20 and lie about taking care of an issue.

I have filed a complaint with the BBB because of this and Microsoft refuses to do anything because their system failed to keep record even though their staff promised to correct the issue.

Terrible experience, terrible customer service.
