I was just a patient there for 6 days. I want to commend the nursing and support staff. They were all extremely responsive, caring and helpful. It's impossible to speak highly enough of them. You were appreciated more than you could ever possibly know. Hopefully, I expressed that to most of you during my stay.
I would NOT send my Dog here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nurses that don't want to be Nurses! Rude! A lack of empathy and well flat out Lies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just to get you to do what they want! This was my third experience with them and this is with my Father, and myself! Like I said I would NOT have my Dog treated here! Dignity! Human Kindness! That is a Joke! Human Kindness and Dignity is a STRANGER TO MERCY GILBERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I took my 11year old into the ER at this hospital because it was the closest to my home. Upon arriving, we were welcomed and my daughter was seen right away. We were escorted to a curtained bed where we only had to wait maybe 30 seconds before I believe was a nurse (male) who came in and asked what was going on. Then a doctor, a very nice one in cowboy boots evaluated my daughter with care and understanding. He then prescribed a pain med, ibuprofen and antibiotic for her. He said she had a severe right ear infection. She was in so much pain and had not been able to sleep for days. Our care was fabulous and my ONLY complaint about our whole experience and the reason I'd never take her back there and rated this hospital one star, was a nurse who was not even hers. My daughter being a CHILD was in severe pain!! I had taken my daughter to a near by restroom and she was crying..as soon as I opened the bathroom door, a nurse was standing there telling my daughter to be quiet that there was someone sleeping in the room next door. As soon as we got back to her room, she again was crying in PAIN....asking why that nurse was being so mean to her. While my daughter was crying, the same nurse from the nurses station was shushing her.. I'm sorry, but where is your COMPASSION lady?!?! I really hope you have no children of your own and if you do, you don't show them the same horrible care that you showed my poor baby who was experiencing the worst pain she ever has. I only wished I had gotten that woman's name. When it comes to being a nurse, as I am, you have to have compassion and patience for those you swore to take care of and protect. This woman, is in the wrong career!
I have several experiences with this hospital. My grand daugher was born here in 2011 and that was an amazing experience. I was also hospitalized here a couple of times. Both times for vertigo and they treated us well and took great care of me. I took my daughter there one time and she had a seizer and they got her in fast and did a ct scan asap. The only thing I didn't like was the doctor had no bedside manner and walked in and said, well she has a brain tumor. I about lost my cookies. We were not expecting that. They transferred her to Children's Hospital immediately.

i had to self discharge from a different hospital, that after 2 days, and several issues, told me they couldn't treat me.
i arrived at mercy Gilbert on Saturday informing the ED check in/ triage that i need to be admitted to their hospital because i had a blood cpk count of 21000.
they took my information and took me back quick, immediately took blood tests and found a bed to admit me to.
they informed me the previous hospital had nearly let me die and go into kidney shutdown. had i not left to come here.
ALL of the staff at mercy Gilbert are AMAZING. they put me on the right treatment plan, and were very communicative with me the whole time.
all my numbers are in reasonable levels, and i just got discharged.

One thing to mention - for an outpatient surgery, go in through the main entrance. Going through outpatient services is further and it requires going by the cafeteria which is unpleasant for someone fasting for a surgery
I'm pregnant and I came here because my O.B send me because I was involved in a car accident so that they would check me and my baby, I waited for 2 hours and the doctor never checked me, so I was really sore and, I said to the front office I don't feel good to wait more time so Christian RN respond ,ok and cut the tape information, you are all set, really bad human services.
I was admitted to the ER for blood work and imaging related to an ENT problem. When they were not able to provide the services I needed, Dr. Justin Pattee explained the situation and helped me transfer to the appropriate place. I was very impressed with the kindness, professionalism and efficiency I saw in the imaging crew, nurses, phlebotomists and Dr. Pattee during my visit here. Thank you very much.
Went in for my foot pain and swelling after 13 days of it hurting and received no help with it. My blood pressure was extremely high and still nothing for the help.
Took my wife to ER account she appeared to have the flu, nausea, throwing up. Basically she was there for over three hours before seeing a Doctor who did not even exam her, had to ask a PA what was found from tests because she had not even bothered looking at them ahead of time and wife was sent home with a prescription for nausea. Got the bill which was coded as a level 4 ER visit out of a possible 5. I complained with the hospital as this was obviously a mistake as a level 4 is reserved for cases with high severity, very involved decisions, extensive record reviews and immediate Doctor attention, none of which my wife received or had. After weeks of back and forth the Hospital determined that the level was correct. This visit should have warranted at MOST a level 2. It basically amounts to upcharging and fraud. Perfect example of whats wrong with healthcare. Shame.
Terrible to work with. Their billing department is a joke. They do not communicate with patients at all. Getting information is like pulling teeth. There are long hold times on the phone to handle billing issues and when you finally get on, agents will give misinformation. I have wasted hours (literally) trying to get anywhere with them. The only place I got was sent to collections, despite trying to pay my bill.
Pathetic service in the emergency at Mercy Gilbert. My wife went through the triage and reported pain 9/10 at 5:15pm. They made us wait until 6:05pm while taking other parents with no signs of pain. Needless to say I complained twice. We finally saw a PA at 6:35pm. During all this time my wife could not sit or lie down because of the pain. Note, the registration person showed up even before the Dr. I guess they have their priorities straight. Finally pain med at 7pm.
Complete failure in the triage process to address severe pain and provide immediate care. Never again will I come to Mercy Gilbert emergency. They do not even deserve a single star.
My wife went in to get checked out for chest pain and was treated horribly. The doctor was quite possibly the worst doctor in Arizona.
Mercy and Dignity need to be removed from the building because you will receive neither.
Additionally, they will violate HIPA; I hope you don t want private information blurted out by staff who aren t inclined to care.

My mom was blessed to have been here at this wonderful place the staff and doctors were so amazing to her and all her needs made her feel like she was there only patient we are so blessed to have such beautiful kind people around thanks to this place !!!!!!
The staff and doctors were great. During a major busy time in the ER the nursing staff was FANTASTIC especially my attending and ER Doctor. On another note, Mercury Gilbert was a Godsend when caring for my mother during her cancer treatment.
Sat in the ER OVER 4 HOURS with no help, no answers, no response the nurse's on duty are short with there answer's, we are here because of there lack of competence when they released my brother , they did not clear his pic line so we were told to go back to the ER. They have a lack of courtesy, to let us know what is going on with you, or why they have seen the entire ER everyone else in the emergency room and almost 5 hrs later we are just now being ushered to a room.
My father has been here for 3 weeks and on 3 different floors and he/we are very happy with the staff. We feel like we are in a private hospital.

Overall, I really like this hospital. The hospital itself is great! However, I had a bad experience with one of the doctors. I went after a horrible car accident and needed stitches. The EMT, nurses and some doctors were very friendly but the doctor who gave me stitches was very rude and made unnecessary comments. She told me that she was using dissolvable stitches but fast forward three weeks later and the stitches had not dissolved. So I went to a oral surgeon, he said they were not dissolvable and had them removed. I am not sure if she was mistaken about the stitches or what but... Anyway! The hospital staff was very friendly for the most part. I am sure I just caught the doctor on a bad night.
If i could post zero stars, i would. I had to go to the emergency room, and was double charged by the emergency doctor (through my insurance and personally). They never sent a bill to me personally or phoned me (claimed they didn't have my contact info, yet the other areas of the hospital that i went to did not have this problem). Without sending me a bill, they sent it to collections, and impacted my credit rating by 100points. Now, i have to battle to prove that they've been paid through my insurance. Total scam. Incredibly unethical.

Dr. Joy specializes in MS, if you are newly diagnosed or just not finding the right fit, for your specific needs, I highly recommend Dr. Joy. The quality of my life has drastically improved & I'm finally receiving the treatment needed.
My mother was dying of cancer and stayed here before she passed. The staff was extremely caring and helpful. I was very impressed with this place.
Went to the er in the evening with excruciating knee pain and severe swelling. The cause is unknown. All they did was some blood work, and an ultrasound to be sure there was no blood clot. I was informed " we don't do MRI scans in the emergency room", when I inquired what my condition was, and " we don't know what is wrong with your knee, so you will have to make an appointment with your orthopedic doctor". They acknowledged the joint was in serious condition, but made little attempt to find out why, and if it was dangerous. The pain was never addressed, and I feel the PC and doctor were vague and somewhat rude. I would NOT recommend anyone come to this er for a serious situation. Minor issues would be addressed properly, I think, but major, serious issues would be better handled at a Banner facility.
The drs do not work together. Our mother was brought here with kidney failure. She also had copd. They filled her with fluids which caused her lungs to fill up with fluids. Her kidneys were not working so the fluid wasn t going anywhere. She walked in the hospital on her own and within a few days was taken to hospice and passed away a few days after that. They never looked at her records. Very angry at this hospital.
Worst hospital I have ever been to. Not only have they almost kill my grandma with heart problems in the past, but recently, she went in with a huge gash in her arm and all they did was pour water over it and move her on through. They didn't clean it, check it in an xray, nothing. Now, she's gone to her doctor and they think it's in abscess. I swear if she has to get surgery to get it reopened and cleaned, there will be action taken against this sad excuse for a hospital. I will never ever go to, recommend, or do anything in anyway with this place. Not to mention, when I was there with my grandma once, there was left over blood on her bed and the nurse had to clean it woth a Clorox wipe. I mean seriously?! I wish I could give it no stars.
I scheduled a sleep study which was 4 months out. I talked to 4 different people at Mercy Gilbert for reassurance that my scheduled sleep study was underway and everything was approved through my health insurance (I have good insurance). I called my health insurance (2 Months later) and I found out that the sleep study was never approved and I never received any kind of call from Mercy Gilbert to tell me this information. That's horrible service in my book.

6 days in hospital with CHF sent home without scripts or electronic scripts sent to my pharmacist. 3 total. and no needle scripts . ICU is making me track down the doctors. Absolute nightmare . I had to take tests twice because results were never logged. seems everyone is overwhelmed and simply too busy s to help. They say whatever they want no accountabilty
My sister has been in ICU for 5 days. The staff members, Dr.s, nurses, technicians/therapists, housekeeping, cafeteria and volunteers are top notch . They smile, speak, ask, offer, etc. I've been told by some locals that this is the best place my sister could be. So far I totally agree. Couldn't ask for more because they have been giving their all.
No bedside manner , arrogant, and they don't listen to their patients, to top it off they trap you with no information on your health and treat you like you're stupid.
I Called just To ask labor and delivery triage a question I sat on gotdamn hold for 5 mins and then whoever picked up the line didn't say anything and disconnected the call
Waited for hours and asked when I was going to see a doctor they just said I don t know what a horrible experience I would not recommend to anyone you could possibly be there for endless hours before ever seeing anybody I finally left and drove back to my home town of globe where they where able to get me right in
If I could rate this hospital higher I would . This is going to be towards the labor and delivery floor . I had my daughter there in 2016 and had the most amazing Experience ! And this past Wednesday morning 6/24/20 I now gave birth to my twins at the same hospital because of how amazing the first time was .
And this time it s even better . You truly cannot ask for a better staff of caring nurses !!
I would highly recommend this hospital for having your babies at ! You and your little loves will be in the BEST hands .
Any of my future children will likely be born here because this hospital has just sealed me in for life !!!

Even though the wait was really long because they were busy, the staff was amazing. Really appreciated their kindness.
I give the staff a 5 (for the most part). They were patient caring and professional -- a few bad apples but considering the ER had to be closed and every bed in the place was full -- and then some, they were extremely busy. My most stressful time was in the ER. When you first get there -- for what ever reason -- your little bubble of reality is miserable, in pain, anxious, afraid -- wherever it falls on the scale of 1 to 10. It's hard to be patient, minutes seem like and hours -- and sometimes it is. I was sick and miserable and inpatient but not as bad a the man having a heart attack or the woman in labor, or the car wreck patient. I was triaged a lower priority it made sense but still frustrating because it was my crisis. Getting frustrated only returns frustration and can makes it worse -- at least that's what my daughter kept telling me! The staff are humans taking care of humans and we all have our buttons. I'm most grateful for the care I got. The facilities were clean and pleasant. The staff on 2B was great especially Angel, Sunshine, Mike, Michelle... everyone. Our health care system needs fixing bit those providing the care are Angels for working within the system we have, and for putting up with the public who are already in pain when they get there. Thank you!
This is my favorite hospital. I gave birth to my daughter here, took birthing classes here , and took natural family planning classes here. The hospital is always extremely clean, they ring a bell when a baby is born, and they hold regular Mass. The Doctors and Nurses are very knowledgeable and top quality.
As a patient as well as a caregiver at Mercy Gilbert Hospital, I have experienced THE WORSE service ever! I have been hung up on, treated as a stray dog, and spoken to as if I was beneath the staff! My siblings forged several documents in regards to my mother and the hospital refused to look into it! I even gave them my power of attorney paperwork and they still refused to allow me to speak to my mother. My mother asked for me on several occasions and when she became upset, they called my siblings who forged paperwork and consulted with her! I will never step foot in this hospital again! I have been fighting this hospital for two weeks without success! I even had another hospital fax over my real documents, and they still refused to give me information in regards to my mother! I asked to speak to administration and I was laughed at and told to hire an attorney! I pray that the CEO of Mercy Gilbert Hospital read this and reach out to me! I WILL BE WAITING CEO!!! They have taken my mother's rights and won't let her talk to anyone, move hospitals or discharge

Went here for some broken bones and electrocution and the staff was great and attentive.
A two and a half hour wait is enough to make any man or woman forget the agony from whence they came and realize the hell they're in. I was really frustrated when I fanally saw the doctor because although he was nice, he was in and out before I could even blink.
*******BEWARE*******The Doctors here are like a local street corner crack dealers. Giving a person that isn't mentally capable of managing medicine and your ER doctors write scrips for enough pain killers to kill my uncle!!! This just happened last week 7/21/16..........This place will kill you!!!!!
Emergency room was disgusting. Recently moved here from FL and I was applaud and felt disgusted while we sat and waited to see an ER Dr. thankfully we were only there for a possible fracture, wasn t as serious or I would ve left the first second I walked in the door. Check in time 9pm left at 11:30 which isn t bad, I m prepared to wait anytime I walk in to an ER but once we were taken back to get the X-Ray results the regular garbage can had an IV bag with blood visual to the eye. The computer was left open with all patients information to be seen HUGE HIPAA violation! Reason I gave one star.. the staff and physicians were friendly and very detailed with information.

I gave birth at this facility in 2014, To all of the staff, doctors, nurses, pediatrician, anesthesiologist, custodians, including the employees who supplied my meals and took away the trays, they were all nice. The room I was assigned to was clean. When I called the billing department after a month or so, they answered all my questions and were very courteous.
i went to mercy gilbert for a colonostopy. i was scared. when i got there the people were incredibly nice. the nurse who prepped me liz d was a hall of fame nurse.she settle my nerves which is not easy to do.when i went in for the procedure i was completely relaxed the whole staff was incredible.cant thank them enough.i wish i could remember the other doctors or nurses names but i was too groggy. the commercials for dignity are accurate. THEY CARE. any time i have to go to the hospital it will be mercy gilbert. i thank them all very much. words cant convey how i feel.
Charged $3500 for a ER visit just for checking my wife's vitals after being stung by a scorpion. No medicine was administered or anything just $3500 dollars and a piece of paper telling about what to watch for after being stung. She was 8 months pregnant so we didn't want to take chances but what they charged is beyond ridiculous.
This place is outrageous... sent a bill for over $900 for a routine visit.
Watch your wallet, because that is all they care about. They can t seem to code things correctly and expect me to do all the legwork with the insurance company so they can get paid. They are rude, condescending and have week and simple minds. I would rather bleed out on the curb than deal with those scoundrels again. I have stepped in things that smell better than those who work there.

Escorted a family member to the ER here. They were quick to get her into the back. The nurse was kind and very helpful. The doctor was thorough, kind & answered all questions completely & courteously. It did take awhile to get taken back for the necessary CT scan but the nurse checked in regularly during the wait to make sure all was good. Once the results of scan were back & the doctor had came back to explain findings, it did not take long for the discharge paperwork to be completed so we could get out & back home. As far as ER's go I would recommend Mercy Gilbert.
