My mother has Anaplastic Thyroid cancer. Also congestive heart failure. She can't talk due to throat surgery. She was right across from the nurses station and would call for help but of course they can't hear her when she presses nurses button and they knew that but would keep hanging up on her and would not even go check until she texted me and I had to call the nurses station TOO MANY TIMES TO COUNT. She was in excruciating pain and waited almost 2 hrs and she texted me again. I called up there and asked for the charge nurse. I said if my mother doesn't have pain medicine in the next 10 minutes I m coming up there and taking her out and taking her to another hospital. Needless to say she got her medicine immediately. The director also went to apologize to my mom. Now last night a make nurse on tbe 3rd floor taking care of my mom in rm 3129 named MARK a African American man ( which I don't care about color but just in case there is another Mark) yanked my mother's arm up at 2am to do her BP and my mom has a bad shoulder and she screamed. He said" well you should have lifted your arm up". I called AGAIN and said I never want that man in her room again. My mom has been through hell and still has radiation and chemotherapy treatment to finish. I contacted her Drs at John's Hopkins and was able to work out a transfer which will be tomorrow thank goodness. There were some great nurses but unfortunately the bad outweighs the good by a long shot. Not to mention the food makes you gag. I couldn't even look at it. Oh yeah the Air was broke in her room and she already has breathing issues and they told me I couldn't bring a fan. Guess what? I took a fan and said I dare someone to touch it. If you can't keep her cool enough then I will. Also never given a shower in the 2 weeks she has been there and there is no reason she couldn't be put on a shower chair for a shower so has yeast infection under her breast and under her belly and groin. I thinks that everything. Needless to say I don't recommend Franklin Square hospital unless it's their Woman's Pavilion.

Do not come to this hospital.

Do not come to this hospital.

For starters I had chronic hypertension for 2 years and I wasn t told until I was admitted with severe preeclampsia in June of 2020. Doctor came in my room and said did anyone tell you you had chronic hypertension? My daughter had to be delivered early and stay in the NICU for 74 days.

More recently, I ve been extremely ill, horrible headaches, short of breath, confusion and dizziness. I was in and out of their ER 7 times in 3 months. 7 TIMES. And each time I was diagnosed with something different, or I was told it was anxiety, or treated like I was drug seeking. 2 days ago on October 16th I fell in my living room, got sick and lost control of my bladder. My mother called the ambulance and they took me to Bayview. Within 10 hours I was diagnosed with Pseudotumor Cerebri. 10 hours at Bayview vs YEARS at franklin square.

This hospital does nothing for their patients. They give you whatever diagnoses they can just to say they diagnosed you and they send you on their way. I will NEVER come back to this hospital, they ve put my life in jeopardy twice now over just plain negligence. It s absolutely ridiculous, if I could give negative stars I could.

Don t waste your time. Go to Bayview.

I'd like to thank Ms Monica Sears at Telemetry Unit who was kind to every patients there, she always smile and happy when serving, she remembered the habits of patients need, and always help patients out.
Again, I appreciated what Ms Monica Sears did when I was in the hospital.

My mother was admitted here Her shoes were lost during her stay. They discharged her in flip flops that didn't fit. Even though she was wearing a "Fall risk" bracelet, when she was discharged, they had her WALK with me to my car was across street in the parking lot and in drizzling WET cold weather. Can I say fall hazard? Would it have been too much for the staff to take her to the front so I can pick her up? Also after filing a report with security and getting the run around for two weeks regarding her shoes, they are telling me that they are not responsible for her lost shoes. Although the report says that it was part of her belongings and I never saw her wearing them (I assumed they were with the clothes she had came in on). Again, couldn't they have told me from the start that they are not responsible instead of giving me the run around? Disappointed that they were not upfront.

Great ER Staff on 10/5/19 at 7:30pm! Haven t always had good experiences at Franklin Square. However, the staff on this evening were really the A-Team. My Dad is 89 and was brought in by ambulance for severe urinary tract infection. The nurse in the ER was wonderful! All of the staff that tended to him were great and kind. Even the house keeping staff smiled and said hello. One young man with dark blonde hair and light blue scrubs came over in the ER, introduced himself, took off his glove and shook my hand. He then asked me if I needed anything or if he could be of assistance. Now that s Class and Courtesy! I m only sorry I didn t remember all their names. Dr. George was the doctor on duty at the time. Even the tall, blonde young man who transported my Dad for his scan was kind and polite. Kudos and gratitude to the staff on duty that evening! You should be so proud of what you do and how you do it. I should know great patient care when I see it... I ve worked in hospitals with cancer patients for over 20 years myself. Thank you for taking such good care of my Dad, your kindness, professionalisms and efficiency.
Sincerely,
Kevin LaMartina

I went here yesterday and the wait was 8 hours but i only waited for 3 hours and everyone there was friendly and helpful. I wish the wait times weren't so long but that's life; people worse off coming in will (and should!) get quicker care before you. I was born here and come here when I need to and it's a great hospital.

THE WORST HOSPITAL EVER!!!!! I went there because it was near to my house. I had a terrible migraine. They made me wait for 7 hours. I started complaining and they brought me inside to give me fluids with Tylenol and Benadryl. I waited 2 more hours and I decide to go home. I never saw or spoke with any Dr.

Wife was sent here via ambulance due to severe lower back pain causing the inability to walk. Once in Emergency Room was chastised by the Doctor for not going to our Primary Care Doctor and coming to the Emergency Room (who goes to their Primary Care Doctor on Sunday via Ambulance?) No concern was given to the fact that she couldn't walk or function due to the back issue. Left in Emergency for 10 hours then discharged with minimal medication, follow-up, or concern about future care. Overwhelming sense of "if you're not dying, you shouldn't be here" Nobody from the Hospital even assisted my wife into a wheelchair, or the car afterwards. Now the next day we're in the same exact condition as we were when we called the ambulance; except for being poorer for the experience.

My mom was treated in the ER today for a kidney infection. After 2 weeks of her primary physician treating her for a UTI, the Franklin Square Team discovered that the antibiotics she was taking were not working to treat the kidney infection that my mothers doctor missed. The team that treated my mom was Dr. Kadiri, Alyssa M, PA-C, and Nurse Sarah M. My level of anxiety completely went away just after a few minutes of the team taking care of my mother. They treated mother with such amazing care, made sure she was comfortable, and their expertise was stellar. It s a good feeling knowing my mother s care was in great hands and she will be on her way to recovery. Thank you to the amazing team who cared for my mom today. You are all an asset to Franklin Square Hospital.

Terrible I was here because I was having bad pain in my wisdom tooth and I came in on a Thursday and they gave me 10 pain pills and said if the pain gets worse come back so I came back on Sunday with even worse pain and the person helping me was like we just gave u meds Thursday we can't keep giving you meds I dose it look like I come here to get meds if u look at the amount of time I've been to this hospital it's been years I'm here for pain she treated me like I was a junkie and then after she messed with my tooth I had to sit for a hour for them to bring me something for pain and says I can only give u something to get u thru a day and keep taking the antibiotics we gave u obviously they are not strong enough if I came back so I definitely won't be coming back to this hospital ever you cant treat people like they don't rele have pain when I'm in tears and you are stabbing me right where the pain is this is the worst hospital ever I had to go today and they wouldn't give me nothing for pain they acted like they couldn't even deal wit me I had to deal with a bunch if different nurses and a doctor who just brushed me off like my pain was fake they need all new staff

I came here because I was feeling sick and I am pregnant. Within the first 3 hours I saw 2 nurses and a PA, got some blood work done, and I got an ultrasound. After all of that, I proceeded to sit in the waiting room for 5 HOURS!!!!! basically waiting to be discharged. This place is horrible. They move slow and they don't show a care in the world. The nurses are careless and the desk workers just sit there trying their best to avoid having to talk to patients. I will try my best to never have to go there again. Spent a whole damn day in the emergency room. This has never happened to me until I came to this hell hole. I hope things change at this place because people's lives depend on it. Literally

Do not come to this hospital if you have an actual emergency. Came at 10:30 pm to get some stitches was initially seen in 45 min. Its 3:47 am and we're still here waiting to get a few stitches. The wait times are ridiculous and the emergency room seems severely understaffed. I won't ever come back here. I could have driven to mars and been back quicker. There were several elderly people sitting in chairs when there were many empty beds. I get that the people who are here are doing their best but I would give zero stars if it was an option. The emergency room needs to hire, train something but this is one of the worst places to come.

Dont go here if you have a history of drug abuse and are in recovery or if you are still in active addicition. They will treat you like garbage and kick you to the curb. Regardless of how sick you are, dying...doesnt matter, their default assumption is you must be drug seeking...even if you dont ask for anything and even say i wouldnt take any opioid if it was offered...they still treat you like trash. I was kicked out of the ER two years ago without being examined and almost died, i went straight to another hospital and was rushed to the icu. I was taken again to FS by ambulance tuesday night, while i was actually treated and examined this time, i still wasnt treated properly like a hospital should treat you.

This hospital is terrible. Unless you re bleeding out with less than a liter of blood in your body, take your changes and go someplace else. They are extremely slow and have the most nonchalant staff ever. There were patients sitting in the emergency room waiting room with blood all over the place. They have no sense of urgency, and it s clear that nobody s in charge. The emergency room smells like homeless people and urine. While I watched a patient come in bleeding from his ears and nose, the front desk sat there gossiping about who didn t pay for their food order. I can t believe this place is still open. They re a lawsuit just waiting to happen.

Went to the ER after my BFs ankle turned swollen,...

Went to the ER after my BFs ankle turned swollen, blotchy red, and warm to the touch, to rule out cellulitis whichcan be life threatening if not treated early.
This was a Sunday evening at 11p.
It's almost 7a and we are still here, in the waiting room.
He's seen a triage nurse, had vitals taken twice. He's seen a PA who ordered blood work at midnight. They had to redraw it not once but twice because it hemolyzed. The second draw was incredibly unprofessional (tried to start an IV that wasn't ordered, missed and had go digging around-not surprised it was hemolyzed. I wasn't there for first or third.)
It appears that they are not taking patients back to the actual ER but sending them for blood, x-rays etc from the waiting room. Isn't this a HIPAA violation?

Don't go here unless you have absolutely no choice.

As a healthcare professional I was deeply disturb...

As a healthcare professional I was deeply disturbed. I arrived to find my sister unsupervised, in 4 point restraints so tight her feet were cool and discolored with deep impressions on both wrists and ankles. No one seemed sure how long they had been on. I removed them immediately. The hospital lobby and waiting rooms give the impression of cleanliness but it stops there. The patient rooms are not as nice and there are many, many infection control issues that need to be addressed. Patient chairs with torn upholstery are an infection control nightmare as the porous material protruding from the tears is impossible to clean and disinfect properly between patients. I desperately wish I had a culture kit in my purse! Base molding pulling away from the walls in every room I saw leaving a perfect environment for mold, spores, virus and bacteria to grow. As well as flooring that is puckering, lifting and warped away from the base floor and molding. Again, a perfect breeding ground for bacteria, mold and spores. Having no culture kits, I cant say if the black matter peeking out from under the warped flooring near the sink is organic matter or just filth but I confident CMS and JCAHO will be able to identify it exactly, Communication between staff seems almost non-existent. I heard responses like "Well, I wasn't here when she came in" "I didn't hear anything about that in report" "This is the first day I've had her" "We do not have time to read the doctor's notes" " I wondered about that when I got report but didn't have time to ask" The employees seemed kindly and well meaning enough but professionalism and basic medical knowledge seem dangerously lacking. The physicians are no better informed than the nurses. My phone call to a physician is what prompted me to drop everything and fly to Maryland ASAP when I called to check on my sister (my identity and relationship to the patient had already been established) and got a snide "What do you want to know" and then each question was brushed aside with "you'll have to call back and ask the day shift, I wasn't here." In my entire career, I have never encountered such an ill-informed, unaccountable, unprofessional medical staff. Everything about the establishment (as I refuse to refer to it as a hospital) is unacceptable. I gave one star because zero stars is not possible.
Addendum: 10/2/18. It's been more than 2 weeks since I filled out the form for someone to contact me. The organization has made no effort to contact.

Do not waste your time. Your better off going to another hospital for energency care. No sense of urgency by staff. Met my significant other here because of a bad car crash that left him with a concussion, and potientally bruised ribs, clavicle and sternum. Piss poor prioritization of patients. All around horrible experience. A 7+ hour wait early in the morning on a non busy day (Tuesday-Wednesday).

My experience has been worst here in the ER espically the Wait Time to get a Room. I'm Diabetic with high sugars. Waited for a while then decided to go to another hospital got seen right away and got admitted to the ICU and was in DKA. Not sure why this hospital the wait is ridiculous and no update. I can see why people complain and me going into DKA was serious.

Someone needs to improve this situation before things goes south!

I went in not as a patient but a friend to the pat...

I went in not as a patient but a friend to the patient. Arrived around 7pm and left around 7:30am this morning and seeing no Doctor. The patient was not alone in this waiting to be seen for almost 12hrs process. Had others waiting in wheel chairs for their number to be called and other patients pushing them to the staff. The cleaning crew comes out and asks that we move to the other side so they can clean. We refuse they get the security to come out to make us move. He threatens to call the police if we don't move. Calls the police and they arrive at the drop of a dime. Asks to speak to the director as their pamphlet advising of client rights states that we have every right to do so. The director or personal named Tanisha never shows face. Terrible front end and back end staff. This is the ER and people deserve the utmost care if they choose to visit the ER. The place not hospital piece of trash needs to be re-staffed or shut down point blank period. Only one person at the front end desk should stay as he apologized for the wait. When all others brushed this long process off as if this is normal and not an urgent matter. 12 hours no food or beverages. Patients walking around with exposed IVs only to wait in an unsanitary environment as it was necessary to move us to clean. A gentle man arrives puking on the floor staff just look instead of hurrying to get the guy a vomit bag or something so his puke is not all over the floor. Lady comes out cleans up the puke with a broom. Is she going to use that same puky broom without cleaning it off or throwing it away? Who knows? Why lie to your patients? Why say you can't give results of tests done when your the one that did the test I'm sure you should have some knowledge of test results if your performing the test to begin with as you would need to know if the machine is functioning properly or the results are normal or abnormal. Advise your patients to go else where instead of having them wait in the lobby bringing them back to do test just to place them back in the unsanitary waiting area. Then you have homeless people occupying spots in the waiting area. I understand it's cold outside but this is an ER not a shelter for the homeless. You have staff laughing and gossiping about the whole ordeal standing at the front desk as if they have nothing to do, yet all these people have been waiting for hours ridiculous. I will never utilize you're services nor will the patient I transported to your location as the lack of professionalism is great at this location. Overall worst experience at the ER and I wasn't even the patient. Terrible! There were many accidents on yesterday and I received this as an excuse for the wait, however, the news reports minor injuries to the persons admitted to this location. And the accident's occurred early yesterday morning. The staff gets their meals and food delivered but have no care for the people that have been waiting for half a day and rather they are hungry or not. Nonetheless, I don't want the ER to feed us I want them to take care of each and every individual that visits their ER in a timely manner. We must do better as this world is drastically changing I can't imagine the lack of response received if war broke out in the streets of Baltimore if this is how your ER operates on a regular.

My relative went to this location for severe chest pains. To set up an appointment, you call, leave a message, and they call you back 24-48 hours. Which, first off, is strange to me that they dont have a person to make appointments with you immediately, I mean you are going and spending a little a lot of your money and a lot of your insurers money to see them. But here's the kicker, they don't regularly call back. This will be my 5th time calling today over the period of 1 1/2 weeks. They called back one time, I was working and couldnt answer the phone, I called right back and had to leave a message again and had to wait again for 24-48 hours for a call back....which never happened. After I get my test done, I am not using their services anymore. I gave 2 stars because I thought my cardiologist was decent.

I really don't want to give any stars based on my last experience yesterday. . I had to have surgery on the 12th of January 2018.. I was scheduled for 145pm.. arrived at 1130am.. before surgery I had two women trying to put in an iv.. which I have huge visible veins, so I don't understand the problem they were having. . I was not taking back for surgery until 245pm.. when I was awakened after surgery is where I can say my disappointment began... the woman that was sitting by my bed was asking if I was ok.. I asked for some ginger ale. . She brought me a cup full of ice with some ginger ale.. I informed her I had to go to the bathroom. . She took a while to get the bed pan. . By the time she did so .. I had leaked a little urine considering I have ces. . I had asked for some more ginger ale, and was told no because I would have to use the bedpan again. . I asked if the doctor was able to seal the wound up. . I was told they called my emergency contact and wouldn't give my any information. . My emergency contact was never called, and when she called the hospital was told I was discharged. . When I asked the other woman to help me get dressed she would not help.. she only told me your shirt is right there.. I am very disappointed in this experience. . I've had at least 5 surgeries at Franklin square. . I've never had any problems. .

18 hours waiting in the ER waiting room. Worse than a VA Hospital. They have a system where you are called back for tests and then return to the waiting room. It feels very clunky and inefficient. The staff keeps telling that it is efficient and faster but results say otherwise. I had to get several tests which were about 4 hours of waiting apart. I was encouraged to go a different ER but informed that I would not be able to take my test results with me. There were people who were severely ill who spent over 8 hours in the waiting room as well. The waiting room cannot be sanitary (or is at least high risk). Also, the waiting room is too small to keep funneling people back into. I highly recommend going to another ER. Positive note: once actually seen by a doctor, they are very friendly.

Brought my wife in from a DR referral. Wait time is terrible and based on the ratings this is a normal occurrence. When you respond wanting feedback but nothing changes you are just saving face. If you truly cared about the care you provide your patients you would make changes for the better. This is without a doubt the worst hospital I have ever been in. This could be for multiple reasons, understaffed, treat employees bad, or just plain old don t care.

So to follow up it s been a 13+ hour wait and it s clear that ethnicity is what gets you seen around here. Have been given every excuse in the world as to why we have been here so long. I asked for the test results and x-ray films so we could leave. That was 2 hours ago. I will be reaching out to the director of the facility to find out why I was told that certain ethnicities are easier to get out. I may even hire an attorney to deal with any issues that arise from the attending physicians ignoring another Drs orders.

How do you give 0 stars for this ER? Unfortunately it is the closest hospital to me. When I called 911 I had chest pain, trouble breathing, & jaw pain. I get to the ER they flop me in a wheelchair and push me out to the waiting room. I sat there for 4 hours (I m a cardiac patient, 19 stents, 5 MI's, 7 way bypass). They call me and take blood and put IV in. Send me back to waiting room. I went to nurse at check in and said I'm leaving take iv out. She said I can get you back now. Really? No I'm leaving. Sign against medical advice. What medical advice? I saw no one. Went to Hopkins and they took care of me. I will never go to Franklin Square. I will go to Hopkins from now on. Crazy. No customer service skills with any employee in building. It's night and day difference between Franklin Square & Hopkins. This place needs help to continue to be a hospital. In other posts they say they want to learn from negative posts. Ha! What have they learned? They are really bad?

Went in with very bad pain and a problem. Left after 2 days still a lot more pain . Its early Monday morning in tears cause my issue is getting worst. I am going to another hospital to see what they have to say and do. I wouldn't even gave a star but that's the only way you can write something. I use to love this hospital but not anymore n probably will never go again. But they will hear from me if another hospital finds something .

I know this place has bad reviews, but I am here right now and everyone is very nice. I am in the emergency room and had numbness on the right side of my face. My triage nurse was amazing and comforting and explained everything to me. She was very supportive. The tech who took to me cut was also friendly and kind and helped comfort me. It is an emergency room you have to wait and we are in the middle of a pandemic. Everyone is trying very hard. The staff are wonderful.

I am a former employer of Medstar Franklin Square. I left the employer I was with for 5 yrs thinking I was getting a better opportunity from this hospital. After only being there 2 days I realize I had made a horrible decision. The way they treat their employees are horrible! They set you up for failure and then hold you accountable. No compassion or MORAL.

Ok, first I would like to get this out of the way....

Ok, first I would like to get this out of the way. I came in by medic this am at 1125 hours. I have had three back surgeries so when I twisted my hips one way and my waist the other I heard a snap then excurating pain in my left hip ( now mind you that I had a spinal fusion surgery on 6/20/16. When I got up I couldn't walk I called the Doctor and she said call a medic asap. It's now 2450 hours and I just got back to the main ER. Now I totally understand the 13 hour wait I'm a volunteer firefighter/rescue technician/ EMT and I have brought many patients to the old FSHC and the new ED at FCHC, and I counted 29 medics that came through the doors because I was right near them. Yes that is good wait but very very impressive to get out 29 medics with at least 7-10 being priority 1 (is our sickest patient) and at least 15 were critical and for an ED that dosen't have a whole huge staff I think they did pretty damn good. My Mom is a RN it takes a special person to deal with what they deal with on a daily basis. So I think they did an amazing job for me only having a 13 hour wait. Oh and by the way they did my imageing and made sure I had my meds when I needed it. I also had three out of four of my babies here the third my son Jayme I had no choice to go to another hospital because I had to go to the closest one because I was in labor. You saved my first born child James's life he had shoulder dystosha and was blue and unresponsive they had him breathing, ,pink, and crying all within minutes.rhat was in 2000. In 2007 my daughter came so fast she didn't have time to get the fluid from her lungs out while I was pushing, and had the cord wrapped around her neck three times so tight it was strangling her to death, and amazing Obgyn Dr.G saved her life from the cord and suctioned the fluid completely from her lungs. On 3/14/14 in the wee hours of the morning and 6 days after my back surgery my back split wide open and a lot of brown fluid spilled all over the floor, I had gotten MERSA. Well my husband called 911 and I was taken to Bayview, the took one look at me and asked where I got the surger, I said proudly Franklin Square so with no explanation or cooth, they couldn't get me out if there ED fast enough, and when I got to FSHC by private ambulance, they welcome d me with open arms I got a hug off the bat from my nurse...PS the Doctor and Nurse and tech were waiting for me at the door! They had EVERYTHING laid out for me they stated working on me as if I was a trauma patient! I was in my own room admired within 45 minutes of being in this hospital. So please don't tell me that they are not doing there job here, because they saved my life I would have died if it wasn't for Franklin Square! They gave life twice the day I was born (woo hoo I'm a Franklin Square Baby)and on 3/14/16. It didn't stop there Michelle Bahrin ( sorry if I spelled that wrong Dr. Bahrin) an infectious diesese Dr. She walked me through my entire recovery from the hospital to the last day of IV meds I had a port for 5 months infusing antibiotics every 8 hours for 5 months! I had no life and a brand new 4 month old daughter when I got MERSA. it's because of their s hospital that I am given the gift to kiss my babies and husband at night and for this I thank you. Please be easy on them they are trying there best, as a daughter of a RN and a Baltimore county volunteer firefighter/EMT/Rescue tech myself I see what they go through at this hospital when I bring my own patients to them. Just remember what if you were in their shoes 24/7?

I ve had three of my children and and stayed 4 days for one and 6 days for the other two children. My stars are for the nurses who are mostly all amazing. Having to stay so long the bill really get high so I m wondering why I have to spend $20 dollars a day to get real food from the cafeteria?! The food service company that the hospital uses is the most disgusting food I ve ever had. For the amount of money families pay for their stay at the hospital we shouldn t get such inedible gross food. I can t stomach it so I have to send my husband 3 times a day to BUY me real food from the cafeteria. It s totlally not fair and needs to be changed. I ll be delivering there again in May and I really don t look forward to having to pay for food all over again when we re dishing out thousands of dollars.

I took my 2 yr old grandson to the ER because he hit his head. I check in and I go sit in the waiting area where it say Pediatric. I am in there for about 20 mins and the guard comes over and says You here for the baby? I say yes, he says This room is for people with COVID-19 symptoms. Why they hell they do not have a sign up that states that. I was sitting in that room with my grandson. Yes I had a mask and so did he, but why the hell there is no sign up letting people know this.

First review I have ever written online. Pregnant ...

First review I have ever written online. Pregnant with twins. Anytime I call in for a question I have to wait on the phone for OVER 30 mins. Many times being 45mins. In result, I have avoided calling. I have left voicemails and never received a call back.

Additionally, I never know which Dr. I am going to see when I go into my appointment. I was put on their high risk cases when they found out I was having twins, the following appointment they took me off of high risk saying I was "young and healthy," and the appointment after that put me back on saying..."why were you taken off high risk cases, you're having twins."

Additionally, I asked a basic question, "having twins, how much weight do I need to gain in comparison to one baby?" The midwife that saw me (not a dr. or nurse, which I was surprised I did not see for my appointment), she said "oh, you know...a little more." I am not joking or exaggerating, that was her response, no specifics.

In conclusion, I DO NOT recommend the Women's Pavilion at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center.

This is the worse emergency room hospital experience I have ever had. The young lady at the front desk was the best thing about my time there. She was very caring and professional. What do you say about a hospital where most of the healthcare professionals are not at a healthy weight? How do you take care of others when you obviously can't take care of yourself. That aside, the wait times are terrible. My mom was obviously dehydrated but instead of getting her an IV drip they just parked her in the wait room. The hospital is obviously short-staffed. The medical staff are doing the best they can with what they have been given but they obviously don't love working at Franklin Square. I can't blame them. The hospital feels icky and a little dirty. I would never voluntarily come here. More like Franklin Scare!

Worst experience ever!!! We took my 80 year old mother to the ER at 2am, did not get seen until 8am. The waiting room was about half full, only 3 people were ever called back to be seen but as soon as the day shift came on things started rolling. If you are going to operate an Emergency Room then you need to have the staff there to provide Emergency care to those who come in. Apparently the night shift is either not capable or they don't care or they don't have any staff there to provide emergency services...I'm still so mad over the situation, unbelievable!!

Terrible hospital in the world, staff sits around ...

Terrible hospital in the world, staff sits around on their phones while the waiting area is full to capacity. Went there for chest pains sat in the waiting area over 6 hrs without anyone telling us the results of the test, once we finally got in the back we waited another 4hrs. to be told blood pressure was good, h.i.v. negative and lungs were clear. They didn't have a doctor on board to read x-rays...( had to wait for a dr.rainy until 10 am and had came in at 1:10 am ). I wouldn't recommend anyone in the world to visit this hospital under any /no circumstances ( not even to get temperature taking ). No sense of urgency whatsoever. Recommended ( St. Joseph ) they get u in and out, and the staff is very nice and helpful. I do have to say that the nurse name ( Jenny ) at Franklin Square was very nice and had answered all of our questions. Overall zero stars !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At 5pm got a text from my other taken to er by ambo, passed out at work. Arrived at 7pm sitting in waiting room said they took blood. Now 1236 am blood work hasn't been returned no answers anywhere still in waiting room though. If i ever need medical care leave me I'll have a better chance on my own. 130am same for over 8 hours leaving going back to work in 3 hours. To the management don't ask for info investigate how many walked out without being seen. I'd consider a new moto "worst care anywhere" except you have to care first.

My loved one was taken here by ambulance, and they seemed like an pretty good hospital. However, I would say they should come to the room quicker when beepers go off and such. When visiting, we had to wait almost 5 minutes for a nurse/doctor to come in our room to see why the patient s monitor(s) were making noise. (I could here plenty of nurses/doctors in the halls) I feel as something really wrong could happen when no one is in the room, and they wouldn t come in to see for a while. Overall, good experience but I hope they don t wait as long to come in the room when monitors are going off.

This is the worst hospital I've ever been to next ...

This is the worst hospital I've ever been to next to Baltimore/Washington Medical Center. The only good experience was when I first came with the lady at the registration desk. She was really nice. I had surgery earlier that day on my bicep at Mercy Hospital but they didn't prescribe me strong enough pain meds. So I went to the ER at Franklin Square once the nerve block wore off and I was in excruciating pain. I was in there from 12am to 8am!! Both I and my wife kept asking the nurses for something to sooth the pain. I just kept hearing the nurses laughing and talking the WHOLE time. They were very lazy and they kept telling me they were going to help me but never did. They finally gave me a shot of Morphine which didn't work and left me and my wife in the room for 2.5 hrs. Then they had the nerve to ask us if we could go back in the waiting room. After waiting another 2.5hrs in the waiting room in pain they asked us to come back so the doctor could see me. I sat and waited another 45mins. Then they came back and asked if I was given more Morphine because supposedly I was supposed to get it from the nurse again but they never made it to me. Then after being told they would see how I felt in 15mins after giving me the Morphine I still waited another hour. So I wound up just getting prescribed stool softeners which I didn't ask for and then was sent home after being there for EIGHT HOURS in pain!! The only reason I gave it one star is because of the lady at the front desk. These people suck.
