My family and I have all been patients at Franklin Square. We have all been treated very well. I had two of my three children there and had no problems at all. The nurses that we had were all great. The hospital was clean. We have been in the ER before and yes, sometimes the wait is long but you are seen in order of emergency. If you just happen to be there on a day when a lot of critical cases come in, you will wait and rightly so. But a lot of people still continue to use the ER as their PCP which takes up time. And the waiting rooms are full because a lot of patients bring in three and four people with them along with children. If you have that many people to bring, leave a few home to take care of the kids. Thats too difficult on children and the person that is ill shouldnt have to worry about making sure they behave. But all in all, Franklin Square is a good hospital. Every hospital has its horror stories. My dad died at Franklin Square and I was not fond of the nurse that he had but out of all of his hospital stays, that was the only complaint and that can happen anywhere. I still go there and it is still my hospital of choice. My husband just had surgery last week and everything was great; from the person who greeted us at the door, the nurses, doctors, admitting, etc. Not one complaint. All very kind and attentive.

If you think you are coming to the emergency to get attended to in a timely manner, then you are probably hallucinating. Time management at this establishment is the worst I have ever experienced in my 37yrs of life, and no effort has been put in to fix this. Just have in mind you will be waiting for hours before you see a doctor or physician. Missdiagnosis is another issue that needs to be addressed.

Overall, administration needs complete retraining and may be overhauling where necessary.

Dr

Dr
Paul Carroll and staff are great! I highly recommend them.

Me and my husband came in the hospital at 930 and it's now 415 have not been seen yet know one even comes give you a update they are to busy talking to each other and during check in I don't think security or the police should sit with the person checking you in listening to your personal business and then you see slurs very unprofessional never coming here again I am pretty sure these things are a violation of the hippa law will be looking into that really frustrating sign disgusted something needs to be done I am livid right now shortness of breath and I am still sitting I will be telling my insurance company not to pay I ask how much longer do I sit with a IV IN MY ARM THE RESPONSE WAS WE WAITING ON A ROOM I AM READY TO SNATCH IT OUT AND WALK OUT

I came to Franklin Scare at 3am, for a horrible asthma attack. They drew blood when I got here, and they did a chest x-rays..and a shot of steriods. since then I have been sitting in the hall under triage 7 for 5 hours. Not one person have even came to talk to me. It is almost 9am, and I'm ready to walk out of here. I will never ever be back. I will drive way out of the way before I return here again. They keep saying the doctors are on critical cases. Why don't they get more Dr's for less critical. I can't breath to me I'm critical. There was a drunk homeless man in triage 7. Next to me, he gets up at 7am, pissed in the bed and walks out. And all the staff said it was normal. That's not normal!

I have a terrible time getting my blood taken but have to do it fairly regularly due to my thyroid being under active. I've been many places hoping to find someone who won't use me as a pin-cushion and I have found that person/place!
Lana, an employee who works in the outpatient lab in the cancer center building has been so wonderful. She knows me by name, asks about my son, (she drew the blood for all of my pregnancy tests), and always gets a vein on the first stick. If I need blood taken, I call to see if she's working. If she isn't, I wait until she is.
I used to have terrible anxiety about getting my blood taken and would almost pass out before they even touched me because of it. Now, I have confidence that she'll get the blood needed the first time and I'm so much more relaxed. I don't put it off for weeks/months, it's just wonderful. Thank you Lana and Franklin Square for employing people like her!

please don't use this slaughterhouse , worst hospital ever..PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF THE TIME AND THE PAIN...i wish i can give them minus billion star...i took my sick pregnant wife to the ER...the waiting room was dirty...nurses and receptionists are careless and cruel....patients are everywhere....during all my 6 hours of wait i saw 5 people crying and no one cared!1!!!!..one patient was bleeding in a wheelchair..a lot of people laying down on chairs with IV tubes..i felt like im in HAITI.

Terrible excuse for a faciliy that offers medical care to anyone. No wonder the health care system is the way it is. During a visit patients are asked to register several times with multiple people being paid to literally confirm information that was given during the same visit to a person sitting immediately next to the receptionist. At the time of this writing already been waiting nine hours and have yet to have a simple sonogram done that was requested by a on call doctor at the very same hospital. I get that the staff deal with inconsiderate people daily, but in the end they have a job to do and to treat every person you come acrossed as they bain of your exsistance is completely uncalled for go and find a new job if you are that miserable!

The ER is busy and the wait is long just like most hospitals due to under-funding and over-demand for services. Part of the problem is people trying to treat the ER like their primary physician. Once you get to the more specialized departments though, it is a wonderful experience. Everyone is polite and helpful and there is virtually no wait. I was admitted for 3 days and I have no complaints other than missing my own home!

I waited her for 12 1/2 hours before I was even put into a room. Then proceeded to wait 2 hours for a doctor for them to just tell me that apparently nothing is wrong with me and send me home with a perscription. The staff was completely rude and the ER was absolutely disgusting. Would never recommend this hospital to anyone

Very disappointed with franklin square hospital. I do not know were to start. My father was sent to the hospital for possible blood clots by his doctor. We arrived at the hospital did not expect rude staff. Was told 4 to 5 hour wait. I have relatives that work for hospitals and i would say the rudeness of the nurse in front counter was just plain ignorant. People like her should not work in a place like this. Needless to say my family will no longer be returning to franklin square hospital. I took my father to another hospital and was immediately taken back and observed. This hospital had friendly staff and loved their jobs. Im sorry but Franklin squre is a joke. And i will make sure word to mouth is passed and will tell people not to come here. Very unfortunate about a hospital this is sad.

I started off in the ER and was then admitted. Unlike all the other comments, the wait was not astronomical. I arrived at 9:30 am and I was seen, treat and moved to an empty bed upstairs by 1:30pm (I was seen within an hour of walking through the door). The nurses were AAA+. The only person I had any issues with was the wound specialist. I found her manners lacking and quite distasteful. While I seldom saw the doctor, she seemed pleasant enough. Overall the ER was not bad, and the nurses made my unexpected stay as pleasant as humanly possible.

Brought my mom here at 11:30 a.m with severe back pain, at 5:04 p.m. we was still waiting in the waiting room!!!! They wouldn t even give her pain meds!!! She was finally taken back at 5:20p.m. AND they don t even know what she here for!! One nurse asked her when was her accident THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT!!! THEN the other nurse wanted her hooked to monitor for her chest pains. THERE IS NO CHEST PAIN ITS HER BACK IDIOTS!!!!!! WORST ER EVER!!!! DON T COME HERE IF YOU WANT TREATMENT BUT DO COME HERE IF YOU WANT TO WATCH NURSES AND TECHS WALKING AROUND ENJOYING EACH OTHER INSTEAD OF WORKING!!!! I agree with everyone else!!! If I could give no stars I would!!!!

I had very bad cramps all through the night. Never went to sleep. Finally realized something else had to be wrong because they weren't going away. I went to the emergency room. The attendant at the front realized I was in a lot of internal pain and got me in the back in 10-15 minutes. Summing everything up almost no experience anywhere is without small little nuances but my 5 star rating is solely based on my surgeon, Johnathan Grife. He's honest. He's a patient advocate. He has a wonderfull sense of humor and bedside manner and put me at ease. He performed my appendectomy the next day and one week later back on my feet. Dr Grife is a credit to medical care and should be treated as such by Medstar. If everyone in the medical field treated people like he did the world would be a better place. :)

This hospital should be shut down! This is the most disgusting environment to be in. People come here sick and expect to leave in a better state. Instead you come sick and leave worse than before. The ER triage looks like an uncleaned cafeteria. Food smeared on the floor and nothing sanitized. From the moment you walk in, the room has a urine Oder. When the floors are being cleaned, the filth is just moved around. I understand it is hard to keep a hospital completely clean and everywhere has its faults, but this is unacceptable!!

Staff were friendly, that s the only positive thing I can say about my trip to the emergency room after arriving by ambulance due to my car being totaled on 695 because someone ran into me. After 3 hours of sitting with what seemed to be 50 other people waiting to be seen, I discharged myself. I m pretty sure I have a concussion but I could not sit there any longer, so I left at 1am with a swollen face, bad ear and head pain and lower back pain. I ll just go to a more efficient hospital tomorrow and hope I didn t fracture any facial bones. Oh and the bathroom they had me go in to leave a specimen was filthy! Franklin Square is a depressing place all around with super slow service. I will not return.

They suck, been waiting 4 hours, keep saying my mom is next waiting for a bed. Still waiting 2 hours later. Franklin Square is one of the worse places to go. What I really want to say about this place, I can't cause its that bad.

Three family members went here.

Three family members went here.

First came in by Ambulance complaining of chest pains and high blood pressure. Cardiology ran tests and discharged the patient after a day.

A month later, the patient had a heart-attack. Another hospital treated the family member with open heart surgery. Franklin Square made a misdiagnosis.

The next family member had cancer that needed to be identified. The pulmonary team deliberated whether or not to perform a specific procedure. A cardiology physician indicated that the procedure was suspended because the pulmonary team was worried about legal and malpractice liability.

Time was of the essence to determine treatment if one existed. The family member stayed at the hospital an unnecessary amount of time prolonging agony for our family and increasing bills. The procedure was eventually performed. It took only twenty minutes. After receiving a terminal diagnosis, my family member went home. This person passed away three weeks later as they had contracted C. difficile. Perhaps had the pulmonary department not been worried about litigation, the patient would have not been infected with C. difficile and have more time to live.

The last family member came to the hospital with stroke-like symptoms, and high-blood pressure. This patient was admitted, given a battery of tests, and discharged a day later. The patient then had a 103 temperature at home and had a full-blown UTI infection that required the patient to be readmitted less than 24 hours after discharge and spend an entire week there.

Upon having similar stroke-like symptoms again, this family member went to another hospital. The other hospital was able to run standard procedure of care and identified blockages in both the femoral arteries and a stomach aneurysm.

The staff is pleasant and nice to deal with. There are protocols to help patients immediately based on their symptoms. However, the physicians are unprepared and overwhelmed. Instead of spending time trying to assist patients, they spend a great deal of their time in the physician suite entering information into their charts as to avoid malpractice lawsuits.

For obvious medical situations that can be rapidly diagnosed and treated, this is a good hospital. If you have a complicated non-routine medical condition, I advise you to go to another hospital in the area.

Apparently this ER does not find a blood pressure of 195/126 to be high enough to be looked at. After 10 hrs of sitting in the ER we still have not been seen and the recheck came back with the same numbers.

I went to the Emergency Room yesterday with my 2 1/2 year old daughter. We had a great experience. The staff was friendly and attentive. She was seen quickly and the staff took great care of her. They made sure to keep us updated on her care plan, and answer any questions we had. We left with a diagnosis and RX, and now she s on the mend.

My husband's doctor was rude. He was.in 4111 and staff at nursing station told me they couldn't call the recovery room, so I could find out how my husband was doing. WOW, where do you get these people. They need hospitality and etiquette classes.

Worst experience In the emergency room! Started at 5:30 it is now 9pm and we are still in the waiting area. Another lady has been here since noon. I don t understand how this hospital is run but the emergency room patients are not a priority like they should be. Please send me the link so I can send more feedback!

Dad rushed to the ER from his cardiologist's office with a 99% blockage. Medstar put him on a stretcher and set him in a hallway because they didn't have beds/rooms available. He sat there for HOURS. After he finally did get heart surgery, they sent him up to the ICU, where they LOST HIM. When my family gathered and was 'allowed' to see him, we had to wait in an ICU waiting room as they were "moving him to another room." After over 90 minutes of waiting, family huddled together worried, I went out to the nurses station and asked when we could see him. The guy at the desk looked at the computer and said he wasn't sure WHERE my father was. He had been moved some time ago and it wasn't marked in the system or something. So I speedwalked through the entire ICU until I FOUND HIM, pale, bluish, old looking. My dad. My dad in the ICU because he almost died.

These people man.

6.5 hours for a follow up shot on 10/9/15 sign said 2 hour wait. No access to cafeteria from ER vending machines only. The vending machines hold 10 dollars against your debit card if you use it for a one dollar drink. Drive to GBMC or Upper Chesapeake it's worth the drive. By the staffs attitude you can only assume that the waork atmosphere is awful.

The worst ER! My daughter was made to wait with the adults instead of pediatric patients which caused her visit time to be even longer. She had an allergic reaction and her throat was swelling and she sat waiting for 2 hours for a doctor!!! I left and took her to a different hospital. I will never come back here, first and last time!!!

The color of your skin will determine how soon you are seen in the ED. Take it from a former employee. The only reason why you see some young color behind the desk now is to accommodate for the change in demographics of the area. Guess the racist management thinks we are more relatable . I could write a book on all that I ve seen and heard while working there. Now read it again

I wish I could rate this place with 0..I would rather die on streets!! Very very bad experiences. Incredibly Unprofessional staff!!They have no idea what are they doing?? Least 8 hours waiting time ER!! Next time no Thanks!!! No more Franklin scare. Good luck.

Worst wait in a hospital I have ever had. Went in for a single broken bone in my hand. I was there for 5 hours so they could give me a splint and refer me to a bone doctor. Do not go to this hospital unless you want to sit around for 5 hours and have them send you to someone else. When I reviewed my discharge papers after my visit I also noticed they had my discharge time two hours before I was discharged, which means they are lying about their patient times also.

Came here 12:40 PM with heart issues. Been sitting back monitored and all my tests have been completed. Sitting here starving now at 12:12 am. Ask got something to eat. Oh I'm busy and there are people who have waited longer today to eat. WELL THAT'S NOT GOOD WORK IS IT?

If I could give negative stars I would! Worst service ever. Stuck up lazy nurses who get an attitude when my mom needed help. Falsely diagnosed my mom with pneumonia then admitted her. Get to room no toilet paper, no towels, no hand washing soap or hand sanitizer. Couldn't give my mom her medication on time. Doctors who look miserable. If you have a death wish but have nothing wrong with you then Franklin Square is THE place to go!! We will quickly rob you and your insurance by keeping you there for days, give you false medicine...BUT WAIT THERES MORE! Our service will be so bad and horrendous that you will kill yourself before the doctor actually visits you. (Estimated wait time for doctor: 100 years) Hope you enjoy your stay at Franklin Square! Because if we dont kill you, you will kill yourself.

Awful hospital. Hope they go bankrupt.

This hospital is not natural birth friendly they do not even offer midwives as primary care here. With my first birth a constantly asked if I wanted an epidural when my plan was always natural. So this baby will be born at St. Joseph's.

Horrible hospital. Go to Good Samaritan instead. I m not sure if they are short on rooms or what but you are given everything in the waiting room even your medicine. The doctors don t seem to care about you, the nurses seem to have a attitude, it s just really sad because I have this experience every time I come here.

Their emergency triage system just flat out sucks. My wife sat in the waiting room writhing in agonizing pain for THREE hours with no hope for pain management. Needless to say, we will be finding new emergency services. I'm editing this while I'm here in the ER , my wife has been back here for 1/2 an hour with nothing but a few questions asked when she first got in the back. Shes still in an incredible amount of pain, no amount of dirty looks on my part have done a darn thing. Shes literally crying, and not a damned thing from anyone. This place needs to be shut down, and every doctor, PA, Nurse should hang their heads in shame. The ironic thing is, that if my wife treated her patients the way she was treated here, she would have been fired....yes, shes a nurse.

In April 19,2010 I was beat up and my legs were drove over by the police in Druid Hill Park. The police that did this to me knew that this hospital would cover up for them. The doctor that treated me make sure I wouldn't get x-ray to my legs. I would never go to this hospital again.

I have been in the ER a couple of times and it has always been a nice experience. The staff has been friendly and kind. The wait was a little long on the last visit but they were very busy. The nurse and doctors are personable and try and make you feel at ease.

I have been waiting in the ER to see a doctor for 7 hours and 30 minutes since I posted this and I am still waiting. No one can give me a time as to when I will be seen. My glucose was at 465 and nothing so far has been done to lower those numbers. Horrible! After asking how much longer the nurse on duty could not give me a time. On top of that I was told that they would need to run blood work when I just previously came from Patient First with all the results from the blood work they ran, I was told by the nurse they needed to run their own test. Ridiculous , anything to boost their revenue. I had to leave and was told to sign a waiver that I choose not to receive care. I was there almost 8 hours are you kidding me. I DO NOT recommended Franklin Square ER.

Came in with my husband who was in horrible pain. Waited in the waiting room for almost 10 hours. Nurses attempted to start an IV 5 times and failed all 5 times brought in one nurse with an ultrasound. To find a vein once the IV was in he told them that it was hurting and they proceeded to talk smart and have a horrible bedside manner. I will never come here again. Even if I'm dying don't bring me here.

The nurse and doctor staff are pretty friendly. However, the ER wait time is ridiculous. I have been waiting in the ER for over 12 hours with chest pains. I advise to go to other ER if you don't want to wait.

I came in on Saturday with severe abdominal pain, I will say that the ER was extremely slow but the staff was very nice. Once they identified what the problem was I was taken care of right away. The nurses, doctor's, surgical team and other aides were very nice. They kept my family and I in the loop about everything and they talked me through so much because they could see I was nervous about having to get put to sleep and have surgery done.

Wish I could give this place 0 stats. Spend over 9 hours waiting to get a room after being triaged. I have a chronic illness but I was in the ER for what I think is me having the stomach flu. They barely addressed my stomach issues and the fact that I couldn't keep anything down. They were trying to discharge me before I could even see if I could eat again! They kept focusing on my bloodwork for a known issue that wasn't my immediate problem. The nurse, doctor, all of them suck and seem to have little to no compassion. The Dr woke me up around 6am said to me don't you want to rest in your own bed at home? TF!? Maybe AFTER you figure out how to stop me from vomiting every 5 minutes I would love to leave this hell hole. Never going back there again. Shame cuz I use to love that place. IDK what changed but I went out of my way to go to this hospital and to receive such poor treatment is a travesty.

My mother had a similar problem to someone else that came in 2 hours after her. The person who came in with the same issue saw he doctor first..even though they waited 7 hours in the waiting room. My mother waited 13 hours before seeing the doctor. They had her sitting in the waiting room the entire night until the after noon the next day in pain. No one could off an explanation as to why people would be seen first, coming in after others. Horrible experience.

Went in having heart attack, was told i had acid re flux, sat there crying in pain for 3 hours then they tried to discharge me. I refused to leave as i was in so much pain an literally crying. Finally another doctor came in to see what the problem was, the doctor said hes got acid re flux. The new doctor who came in immediately knew what was wrong and said "that's not acid re flux" and proceeded to take over while the other doctor stood there clueless holding my discharge papers. Come to find out i was having a widowmaker heart attack an had full blockage. was rushed to cathlab and had the blockage open and two stents put in. I now have heart damage directly due to the doctors incompetence of letting me sit there 3 hours while my heart was dying. The doctor who 1st treated me told the girl who was with me that he was sorry that he thought i was faking it to get to get pain meds and that i looked to young to be having a heart attack. That doctor should be fired an brought up on charges. This was attempted murder an had another doctor not come in i would have died.

I wish I could rate a big fat zero. I got rushed in at 9am this morning with cheat pains and shortness of breathe. I was evaluated and then put into the emergency room waiting area and told I was only waiting for blood work and a chest x ray. It's now almost 12 and I'm still in severe pain and yet to see anyone or get any teat done. Someone needs to report them to the news the treatment is horrible. They have a elderly man sitting here with a oxygen tank on looking real uncomfortable. The least they could do is check on ppl who been here awhile. They have no compassion for people and the staff and their attitudes are the worse. I have pictures to prove of the elderly man smh.

This is literally the worst experience I've ever had at a hospital, I dont know if it's because I'm trans or in 23, but I've never been so dehumanized before at a medical facility ever in my life. I will at no point be returning, anyone who gives this place 5 stars is probably a bot or a boomer.

I thought the ER was better since there are so many options such as Patient First etc. The 8 hours or more ER wait times are worst than the 80s and 90s. Today they haved better equipment better tools way more advance medicine...yet this hospital ER inefficiency can not be fix with apologies, regrets or sorries, it can only be fixed when those who manage these facilities are fired or sued.

Horrible hospital and staff. I went here so they could induce my labor and they didn't do anything at all to make me feel comfortable. The bed I was on was hard as a rock and the pillows felt like paper. The nurses let me sit in a bloody gown and dirty bed and didn't offer to get me any new ones or even change the sheets. It was 4am and I was trying to sleep and there were office workers outside of my room being loud and laughing having no consideration that people were sleeping. The nurses took forever just to come unhook me from a machine so I could use the bathroom I've probably waited over 10 minutes just to pee so I had to unhook myself from the machines several times, some of them even made rude comments! The doctor took forever to approve for me to eat anything or drink anything which was ridiculous cause I hadn't eaten all day. Then after my daughter was born they tried making me clean her off which I didn't want to do, that's not my job. Then they put me in a small room that could barely fit anyone which isn't good for large families coming to visit you. They got rid of their nursery to promote breast feeding which is stupid because not everyone's gonna do that nor should they hear about it if they don't want to do that, and they shouldn't of gotten rid of it cause not everyone feels great after having a baby. Then before I left the hospital some Asian social worker was trying to make me feel bad cause I chose to formula feed my daughter which was none of her business! Bottom line is this is probably the worst hospital I've ever been to and I DO NOT ADVISE ANYONE TO GO HERE TO HAVE THEIR BABY.

Everytime I go to this hopital they can't tell me whats wrong with me. At one time I went to Franklin Square without health insurance and they asked me a bunch of questions, gave me a prescription and sent me home. So I thought thats how they treat sick ppl without insurance. Now that I have insurance I went back and they did me the same way. They act as if they dont wanna do any test or X-rays to see whats wrong. I will never go back to this hospital again.

I would give this place zero stars if I could. My brother was taken there for an E.P. and they did nothing but release him. He wasn't even seen by a doctor. He was only seen by a social worker with an attitude. Then, they ignored the fact that we didn't want to bring him home, forced him out without seeing an M.D. or P.A., and gave us no other options. I clearly remember sitting in the waiting room when the social worker said "she decides who gets to see an M.D. and who doesn't."
After writing the first draft of this review, Franklin Square sent my brother a letter in CYA mode saying that he was seen by an M.D., P.A.-C, and a social worker, and that my mom and I had no issues bringing him home. So, my problem is since I know he wasn't seen by an M.D., P.A.-C, and that we didn't want to bring him home, why did Franklin Square falsify that information?

The worst hospital I've ever been in. I don't even know where to start. After I arrive by ambulance and got triage I was sent into the waiting room in a wheelchair I got the attention of someone at the front desk that I was having chest pain's and she told me to go to the nurse to get re-examine at the time I had 105 fever and couldn't move because I was so weak and dehydrated so I had to call 911 off of my cell phone in order to get help while I was in the emergency room a Franklin Square. They have bed bugs one crawled out of my linen. They're staff are unprofessional and rude.

Been waiting for blood work for 3 hours. Stuck in a corner with 10 other patients. I think they are waiting for us to die so they don't have to help us.

Update I have now been here almost 8 hours. I could have driven home to Rochester by now and would probably already see a doctor. They just don't care about anyone. Starting to think this might be the end. May have to eat my chair soon. Keep me in your prayers.

I just called to find out a wait time and the operator got very nasty with me. She then proceeded to hang up on me. I do not appreciate this kind of treatment and simply because I did not want to waste my gas if they were on a 12 wait....

Worst ER I have ever been too hands down. My grandfather came in by ambulance at 930pm is extreme pain and couldnt move his legs, its now 445am and he still has not been seen. The girl at the front desk has been sitting on instagram on her comouter the entire time, not a single nurse seems to be in any type of hurry, I watched 3 doctors come out sit over in the corner with some snacks for 45 minutes (i timed it) chatting it up, a couple of the nurses sitting off in the corner just hanging, and theyve apparently been waiting on a gurny for 7 hours cause they say there isn't one available in this entire hospital. If I was bleeding to death and couldn't breath while I was having a heart attack i would skip this hospital and go the extra 30 minutes to literally any other hospital.

My mother-in-law who is 92 years old arrived at the ER by ambulance complaining of having problems breathing. She arrived around 2pm. It took several hours to be even triaged. She was kept in the hallway while waiting her turn. How undignified is that? Finally she was given a cubicle. It took over 7 hours for her to talk with a doctor. Blood work,x-rays and fluids were given but had to wait way too long to see a doctor. She had to be admitted. She was not admitted until around 1am. This is disgusting way to treat sick people. Today we have tried all morning to call her room(line is busy) so we got the number to the nurses station. Same thing. My husband just got out of our local hospital and was not treated like this. He was treated with respect and dignity.

You re really better off sticking with the other hospitals in the area - Hopkins, Maryland, GBMC, BWMC...

Good docs and nurses are put in the unpleasant position of not having the support to safely take care of their patients leading to lots of burnout. Dangerous administration.

Lately, I been having to travel around to different hospitals attempting to get care for my mother. And I've ran into one disappointment after another. But the care my mother received from Franklin square was exceptional. The staff is professional, friendly and caring. And if they see you have problems walking a wheelchair will be offered. They really show concern toward your healthcare needs. I've also had to bring myself and my daughters here for issues and received good care. One time I had to bring my nephew here that was only months old at the time for an extreme constipation problem. He was always crying and fussy he was in distress. He needed a change in the formula but no other place was attempting to change it. Came here and they did what should of been done all along. My nephew is doing much better now he is now 2 yrs old. Great job!

According to the EMETALA Federal Statute applicable to Maryland hospitals it is against the law according to the US Attorney General to discharge an indigent, homeless, disabled, disturbed patient to the street. We have been informed by a witness that our love one may have suufered a crime, a breakdown, and homeless. We contacted the Hospital Administrators office and was transferred to 5 different departments which were rude, sarcastic and uninformed. Two staffers eventually stated that she was there and had been discharged several days ago. We left a voicemail on the Administrators voice is and have been ig

THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN. I was in a car accident and was taken to this place. The doctor KNOWING I could have had a back or neck injury took off my neck brace and put me in a WHEELCHAIR..... in a super small room..... it looked like a scene from a horror movie. It was FOREVER until I was taken for xrays. I was in so much pain and they offered me NO HELP. They sent me home in tears not even offering me motrin or tylenol. When I left the hospital the ground was COVERED in used needles.... yes NEEDLES!. Let's just say I am heading to my local ER tomorrow for a re evaluation because I do not trust a word they said. I wouldnt trust this place to care for a pet rock let alone my health.

My experience was not as bad as some of the others. Being in a hospital is not a pleasant experience by default, but the nurses were friendly and seems like they knew what they were doing. I do recall having to wait and wait and wait when I needed a nurse. Perhaps if they hired more staff it would be different.

Worst hospital in Maryland. I was misdiagnosed there , ended up having an ectopic pregnancy that ruptured and I was bleeding internally. I went back there almost every day for a week, every test they did showed I was internally bleeding but instead of doing life saving surgery, they gave me a toxic chemo shot. Thank God for gbmc, I nearly passed out from all the blood I lost and got rushed into surgery. I didn't even so much as get an I'm sorry we almost took your life.

3-6 student men watching me give birth when I only gave permission for 2 . Prepping for birth, the docs kept talking obnoxiously amongst one another about their vacations when all i needed was silence to concentrate. Doctor kept forcin me to take an epidural when i told them i didnt want it in the first place. The doctor nurse or whoever she was pressed the epidural shot while i was giving birth since i wouldnt press it.

Waited 8 hours had blood and a strep test , then asked if I could get my results and nobody gave them to me . I'm still waiting, worst hospital I have ever been too. Very unprofessional and they just want to bill your insurance company and make money and not make sure your in good health. They could careless about your well-being.. I recommend to go to GBMC or St.Joseph hospital.

Eighteen hour wait in ER, with a pain level of 8+,...

Eighteen hour wait in ER, with a pain level of 8+, and shivering in pain. That was my wife's experience of an dirty ER. Either the staff or incompetent or completely overstretched by the bean counters (I suspect the latter) - I will not doubt there will be soon be a death in the waiting area if this place does not improve their 'triage' process.

One note, you are triaged in the waiting area, and have to discuss your medical issue in front of the public, which is most likely a HIPPA privacy violation.

The ER is a mess, avoid if you are able.

General hospital admittance there is an air of can't be bothered and not my job about the place. Making it feel Franklin Squares problems are a corporate culture thing. Which should not be a thing in a Hospital!

Edit In Response To Owner (because we can't reply to a reply) - We reached out via the Patient Portal at the time of the incident and after my wife was hospitalized. Guess what, no response at all, and my wife visited the ER eight weeks ago. Don't pretend to care, and don't deceive folk with the pretense the feedback is listened too, or that your department reaches out. You don't... This not caring attitude, badly run service is obviously a trickle down from the top and wont change until a patient dies in the ER waiting room, waiting to be seen. The Healthcare industry has long considered patients to be nothing more than walking cash cows, not human beings, and your joke of a Hospital has demonstrated that in spades.
