Beautiful resort! Fraser Island is an amazing place!

Stayed in a one bedroom loft and the room was clean and although older was generally maintained. Air conditioning was not working and I had to walk to reception to report it after calling reception three times with no answer, was 5pm.

Have just had 3 amazing days - perfect for a getaway. Staff fantastic and no complaints about anything. Not many places that you can say that about. No rubbish. Wonderful tours .Our tour guide Emily was a pocket dynamo with lots of knowledge and she sure knows how to handle a 4WD bus. Thanks Kingfisher

Was told to stop laughing or move somwhere else because they was having a bbq leson after was was drinking their for the last 2 hours

My room was ok. Relatively large with a balcony. Unfortunately the mattress was totally worn out and I got up with back pain. The facility is large and there is a lot to discover.
I found the food mediocre and very expensive.
The staff was mostly very hard-working and friendly.
What I found negative was the disproportionately high amount that was blocked on my credit card when checking in. That was a vacation record

Spent 3 nights for our 30th wedding anniversary. We have also stayed on other occassions. I cannot fault anything. We were given a bottle of bubbly and a lovely card wishing us a happy anniversary. Our room was very clean and bed very comfortable. We were close to all amenities. We were given an invoice listing all our transactions. No mistakes very efficient. All the restaurants prepared beautiful food. We particularly enjoyed the shared meals. We also had free buffet breakfast everyday with an array to choose and gluten free options. Free transfers on barge from the mainland to the resort and return. All staff were polite and friendly. I would highly recommend staying for the 3 night deal includes free buffet breakfast. Two free cocktails at the Seabelle restaurant. A free bottle of wine when dining at sand and wood restaurant. $50 voucher to go towards a treatment at the Spa. $50 voucher to add to a tour. We booked through the wedding and events team to come and view the island as our potential wedding venue and from the moment we reached the barge office everything was so easy and the staff were so friendly!
Then when we arrived at the resort our wedding coordinators were at the entrance where they welcomed us and then took us around the island showing us all the beautiful ceremony and reception options, with a complementary cocktail at the end of the sight inspections.
Kingfisher Bay resort is absolutely beautiful and would recommend to everyone! Families and even just a romantic couples getaway.

Needless to say, we are 100% having our wedding here! And we will definitely be returning every year for our anniversary.

Absoloutly love visiting fraser island and staying at kingfisher bay resort it's an escape away from the rat race to chill and relax

We have been to the resort a few times now and have always enjoyed our stay. Friendly people, great facilities for yachties ( free showers etc), relaxed atmosphere and lots to do and see. Some lovely walks and the chance to encounter a dingo or two. The Sand Bar also has delectable pizzas.

Kingfisher Bay Resort is in a fantastic spot, nestled in the trees overlooking Great Sandy Strait. It forms part of its local environment nicely.

It has all the usual facilities, and is very family friendly (e.g.: a pool; scheduled activities; recreation areas for the kids and plenty for Mum and Dad to do, too).

Staff are attentive and helpful, and are very welcoming.

The villa we stayed in (privately owned) was a little 'tired', and would have benefited from a refurbishment (particularly the bathroom and kitchen).

The central areas, too, while clean, were tired and suffering from some basic janitorial shortcomings (mainly due to the very high ceilings - cobwebs and bird droppings up very high - which, while not present at ground level, still gave an impression that there were some simple things that could be improved upon).

Dinner service was lovely (Seabelle), if over-efficient (Maheno). Service at the bars was prompt and the Jetty Hut for sunset was a standout.

Overall, a lovely couple of days, and a great base to explore the island (including a fun trip across the island each day, to reach the ocean-side and the better-known highlights).

Nice resort, rooms were good. Services are a bit slow as there are usually a lot of guests in the resort and staff seem stretched. Nonetheless the staff are really helpful.

This resort is always a pleasure to visit. Boardwalks showing signs of wear.
We stayed in a king spa hotel suite. Lovely views at all hours. Shower height not great for a tall person. Comfortable bed, very soft. Fridge very small and just cold enough by the second day.
Segway tour was fun. Eco cruise was pretty good - could have been amazing of the weather was better.
Friendly, helpful staff. Food and drinks a bit pricier than the norm, as expected, but good value for the quality and quantity.

Really nice resort on Fraser. Our apartment was very spacious. Free use of tennis courts.

The most natural eco hotel i have ever stayed at wildlife every where and food was sensational worth the money to see the Island unspoiled check out dingo on dand dune could not have cared about us but beware thay are a wild dog an can attack any time

Over priced, not a 4 star resort by any means. Not enough offerings on places to eat. It seerms that the owners don't care what people say, just want to squeeze every last $ out of you. Some staff good but mainly inexperienced and by the sounds of it, not trained and paid peanuts.

So you order your meal at the sandbar ummediately after your mate. The meal arrives 20 minutes later than your mates. You get better service in a third world country.

Beautiful scenery, extremely hospitable holiday staff

We stayed at The Holiday House. It was really spacious. Had enough room to fit 11 of us (6 adults and 5 kids). 3 rooms downstairs and 1 room upstairs. Massive space. Well equipped kitchen and they even had a 6 burner BBQ.

However, the house is about a 5 mins drive from the resort. You can walk, but probably not suitable if you have kids or old folks.

This resort is just fabulous staff reception every body friendly helpful made our stay not want to end rooms just like pictured will stay again also the spa was the bomb thanks Maria and the local store sold clothes I love so bought a few

Perfect place for a resort. It's nestled perfectly into the surrounding environment.
This is an awesome place to stay if you want to see the famous World Heritage Listed Fraser Island.

At best a Hotel 6!, the facilities are old, the restaurant and bar staff are untrained and rude and the general feel was one step above an RV park restaurant. We stayed in one of the rooms with a small kitchen, loft and master bedroom. The Master bedroom smelled so bad of mold we could not sleep in the room. My wife and I slept in the loft in twin beds. If you are looking to rough it and go cheap then this is your place. We were told it was a 4 star hotel, no way, at best 3 and really 2 stars given how run down everything was and our experience.

exquisite beaches and well maintained environment. lots of wild life but all with in a safe distance. many lovely walks through out the resort not great cell reception but wifi is provided.

Beautiful scenery, quiet island...The three restaurants in the hotel taste good. The price is a bit expensive... the island is well protected. Lake McKinsey is especially beautiful, and friends who like to take pictures or swim can arrange a day of playing by the lake. The main attractions of the island are on the east coast. If you have the ability, it is better to drive to the island by yourself. You can spend a whole day at Alice Springs.

Old hotel. Prices are not adequate to what you receive. Worst food while traveling Australia, were forced to wait 45 min to receive something already cold.

Beautiful resort (some parts of the resort are old but well maintained) very peaceful and scenic, great spot if you're into 4WDing and the great outdoors and nature. Beautiful part of the world.

We were made to feel welcome right from meeting the staff at the onshore office. Our room was clean and had everything we needed. We took the Beauty Spots Tour which was a great day out. There are lots of activities to keep you as busy as you want with choices of free and paid activities. We will definitely be back.

Bed was comfy. Didn't like our view of the street. Photos on website doesnt show the balcony facing the street so would have been better to get an option. Spa bath was good after it was cleaned properly, but maybe had some brown stuff due to not being used for a while. Good size rooms. Beautiful sunset at Sunset Bar. Didn't try the pool as there were too many kids, but looked good. Some stuff were lovely but some could be friendlier. Rangers were awesome!

Very relaxing time at kingfisher. A lovely combination of relaxing and activities. Staff always friendly and helpful. 4 pools for the kids, 3 restaurants, multiple bars. We got a good deal including free brekky and ferries. Pete B our driver for the Beauty spots was friendly and informative. Would come back!

Great place and staff. "free WiFi" is terrible. Amazing though, better not to use your phone

Great service and great stay. The Villas are comfortable and have good amenities. The resort facilities are great and all the staff are professional and well-mannered.

The kingfisher Bay Resort is beautiful, built right into the forest. Our room was surrounded by nature and the whole resort is connected by boardwalks through the trees. There are several dining options, as well as plenty of activities and terrific views everywhere you look.

The resort was good. It was neat and tidy, however, a few majors concerns almost ruined our stay.

First, if you want to eat over priced food with crispy rice, dry steaks, and forgotten food, Moheno restaurant is the place to go. Don t be surprised if they forget some part of your order. They forget to replenish their buffet.

Secondly, if you sign up for their porter services at the end of your stay, be prepared to leave the island without your baggage. Our luggage was not picked up and loaded onto the ferry despite reminding them three times. This caused us increased amounts of stress on our vacation.

We paid around 500-600 dollars a night per room and did not expect this kind of service.

A unique and expensive hotel in Fraser Island and would recommend for a short stay

It can be quiet, or you can be involved in as many activities as you like.
The 4WD bus trip to the beauty points is well worth while, food and accommodation is also excellent

Splendid hotel with bungalow! Calm, restful! You have to rent a 4x4 and discover the island which is really fantastic ... you really feel adventurous in your 4x4 in the sand!

Lovely for the family, great food and breakfast, close to shops.

The sand was too sandy, the water was too wet, the sun too sunny, the wind too windy, but otherwise ok

The resort itself was fantastic however, on arriving to the main land office to check in they requested a deposit to be paid up front of $200. We were told it was to cover damage costs on the room & that all guests had to pay it before arriving at the island & it would be returned upon check out. On checking out the receptionist couldn't advise us on the return & after leaving the resort over a month ago it has taken back & forth emails & long waiting times to receive responses to get to the bottom of it. We enjoyed staying at the resort but the customer service is poor.

Great weather with very helpful staff and so much to do. Not enough time to do all the ranger activities in our two days here. Only issue is on some days of week casual dining Sands Bar is closed which limits eating options

Loved staying here, highly recommend. Beautiful meals, buffets, pools and villas. Recommended doing one of the tours to see the island as well for the day and seeing lake McKenzie

Rooms are beautiful. It would be better if a toaster and microwave was in the room as buying 3 meals a day is expensive.

Good food. Price reflects quality of food. Burgers are good and taste better than they cost.

We loved our stay here. While we did not utilise the restaurant, the rest of the services were amazing. Staff were always helpful and friendly. The junior eco warriors program for children is also great value for money. We will definitely be returning.

For the price you pay to stay and play here..you would expect them to get the small things right. Had multiple issues on the hospitality side of things as well as the rooms. Some of the activities were quite unorganised. The communication from staff to us wasn't clear or concise. Beautiful part of the world though.

Great place on fantastic settings. The 4WD tour was amazing.

As a quick visitor from a P&O cruise we still managed to have quite a few interactions with the staff and found them all to be extremely informative and friendly.

Definitely will go again. The resort is amazing, food is fantastic and pricing is very acceptable. I highly recommend a trip to Fraser Island.

Right from arrival the staff were friendly and welcoming. Great food. Cold beer. Pool and area were spotless. Bed was quite comfortable. I know it's a big ask but having allocated parking spots would be great.

Fraser Island is a fantastic destination to visit, highly recommended. The rangers who are part of organized tours are passionate and kmowledgeable, full credit to them and are making a difference. Kingfisher Bay resort itself is attempting to blend several objectivea as a family destination, eco lodge/enviro oriented (Fraser island is a listed as world heritage by Unesco) and as part of the Acoor hotel group it is also expected to be commercially viable. As a result it achieves none of it. The resort was built in the early 90s and shows its age. Outside of an initial effort to design it within a range of man made ecosystems, it shows little in the "environmentally friendly" space and i didnt see any evidence towards strong sustainability procedures. The staff is friendly but kept to a minimum through heavy rosters.It is no wonder why Australians consider destinations in south east asia as a preference first, The price tag is fairly heavy considering the overall quality om display (amenities/food/service) when compared to other options in the APAC zone. Food is really average at best except for degustation menu at the main restarant.

Well laid out, nice atmosphere, day guests welcome, worth a visit
