The food and service was great. It just wasn't my kind of food. Would recommend it to someone looking for some breakfast, though.
Love this place! I always get the best biscuit sandwich it its the best biscuits and gravy I have had in seattle! Definitely recommend this place!
HORRIFIC BURGER and BLAND SCAMPI. Went on 25 May 2018 around 530pm and took until 6:15pm to get food. I went with my wife trying this hard to get to place for the first time and was very hungry, could not wait to try. I ordered the Farmhouse Burger, meduim for temp. Wife ordered the Scampi. I have never seen nor tasted such a gross offense against burgers in my whole life. The "meat" patty was flavorless, and had been drudged through a grease trap and smashed into the lower patty. The lettuce was slimy and gross looking. Can someone maliciously make a burger not edible on purpose? I have found that here without question. I also am certain I got food poisoning from the few bites I took as I removed the bottom bun & Lettuce and tried to enjoy it anyways. I could only do 2 small bites of the upper layers left before I just could not eat it anymore. IT WAS THE GROSSEST made burger I have ever seen and tasted. This is not okay, and not worth the price at all. Wifes scampi was very bland, she said it tasted like it came from a microwave. I think the Chef should be fired as they are obviously not trainable, the WA Health Department needs to stop by this place, and I think this is the most honest review of Stonehouse Cafe yet. I will not be back. I will of course tell friends to avoid at all costs, and others about this experience. There was also bugs in my water I had to scrape out with a spoon, probably attracted by poorly stored food in the kitchen.
Phenomenal food. Everything was absolutely delicious. We had the biscuits & gravy and a chicken & waffle. Great outdoor seating as well.
I have been here quite a few times. Food is excellent. Bakery is excellent. Have liked everything I've tried here. There is limited free parking. Usually isn't too busy on weekends which is a plus. Would recommend to any one. The service has been a bit of a disappointment lately, which is the only draw back. Wait staff not up to my expectations.
Best place in Seattle to relax, have a good meal and enjoy a great view.
I had a great dinner here tonight. The fries in the poutine were crispy, the Reuben was fresh and piping hot, and the iced tea (that I embarrassingly spilled on myself) was fresh brewed! I am looking forward to my next meal here, thanks guys!
Visted this place at the SeaTac Airport, and all I can say is that was not worth the price we paid for 3 people $67.06 my husband and father in law ordered the Ruben, which was cold sandwich when we were told it be hot, and then I got the Brk Burrito the egg was not scrambled, they cooked it medium, and when the waitress Miao came with the food I asked her is the egg not scrambled she said NO YOU have to go somewhere else if you want it scrambled, so I picked off the egg and only ate the one piece of bacon and at least a pound of spinach, and cheese so was not impressed, it is what it is, and the Waitress Miao is very rude, when she came back to the table I had asked her if we could get some water, when we had asked for 3 waters when she first asked what we wanted to drink, she had the comment well how many do you need, I got angry and said how many of us do you see sitting here? She got smart with me and I let it go. When she brought the check, husband said that my wife is going to sign it for me as he had to help my 86 yr old Father in law, she said ok when she came with the bill she asked where husband was to sign it, I said I will sign it as he had to help my father in law, she started to give me an attitude over that, and when she rolled her eyes when I did not put a tip on the bill, which we always leave the tip in cash, I said well see how many times you can roll your eyes as you will not be getting a tip from me. Now all the Stone house cafe's may not be like this but the one in airport, is awful, all people in there seem rude and as if they do not want to be there, you ask another for something they give you attitude, now I see why it is called Stone. will not be back if it is the last place in the airport to eat, should have gone to McDonalds even though I do not like that type of food, To the mgrs at the Seatac location all your employees need to take a training class on customer service, HORIBLE I TELL YOU no one there smiles or greeted you with a smile, and all walking around like zombies,
Elizabeth
Nice historical location, was a gas station in my youth. Food was good but wait for food after order was too long
Had a crepe madame and it was delicious. The coffee was great and the service was the best. The value to quality ratio is great, I really recommend this place and I will absolutely be returning on this same trip. They have several options for breakfasts of all tastes and kinds.
Garlic shrimp was awesome, fish and chips was great and portions were huge. Stonehouse itself is a historical gem and has beautiful view out over Lake Washington. Service was top notch...highly recommended.
Absolutely love this place. A bit of a wait for drinks because they're so busy with taking orders and food, but everything is worth it. Sitting outside and food is the best in Rainier Beach!
Great immediate service... Food was delicious... Will come back again.
Great Service, Great decor, Clean Restrooms, Good Parking, Good View, Has great quality food, and details are cared for. Grade A pure honey on table, Fun Coffee, served in nifty jar; regular coffee. 4 solid stars!
I didn't stay for a meal this time, but WOW I intend to come back. Beautiful setting and one of the best cinnamon rolls I've ever eaten.
My burger was pretty good, but my girlfriend ordered a wedge salad, received a veggie salad instead. They sent it back and brought the wedge salad after about 5 or 10 mins, but she noticed it had ranch instead of the blue cheese described in the menu, and no blue cheese crumbles. She asked the waitress, who went and asked the cook. Turns out they were out of blue cheese. So instead of telling her and giving her an option, they tried to sneak the ranch in and hope nobody noticed. We've liked this place in the past, but that is just disingenuous. Mistakes happen, and that's understandable, but this was premeditated, and that's a different story. We may not be back for a while. They didn't charge us for the salad, which was the right thing to do, but by then her dinner was ruined so it wasn't much consolation.
I definitely enjoy this restaurant I bring my mother here often. Usually it s always great service friendly and polite. The few recent times I ve been a server Princess is not very friendly and didn t check on us disappointing
Great location and view of lake Washington . I suggest that you get the Eggs Benedict
Took a risk on the nacho fries. With the risk came great reward. Eat the cup of chowder or you're a goof.
I sat down at a table and there were several employees walking by. Not one of them bothered to get me a menu nor did they even notice me. I sat at a table that was in clear view of everyone that walked by. I waited awhile and still no one noticed me. One employee was even on her personal cell phone.
Even on a rainy day the Stonehouse is a lovely place to be. It is disappointing but understandable that their menu has been shortened. I am just glad they are still here.
We knew it was busy when we arrived for lunch on a Saturday, however... we waited over 30 minutes for drinks and an appetizer (hummus plate). An hour later lunch arrived and out order was not even correct. Since the kids menu only had 3 items I ordered a well done burger with cheddar cheese and ketchup, only. Since we had to pay and extra $2 for cheddar, it also came with bacon which we requested on the side. The burger arrived at stated on the menu... for a $16 burger, the staff could not get it right. My 7 year old refused to eat it and I took it home. Husband tried to warm it up when he got home from work and the inside was raw! Extra napkins the we requested with the appetizer arrived when we were done eating. (Party of 4, two whom were kids). After stating our disappointment and disgust with more issues then discribed as above, our meal was given to us. Still we will never be back!
I was recently at the new location in the SeaTac airport. I stopped in after a three hour flight for a cold beer before catching my connecting flight. The bar tender ignored me for almost 20 mins while I stood at the bar. Many times he made eye contact and for most the time he was speaking with other employees, paying absolutely no attention to the customers waiting for service. Finally when he came over he rudely says find a seat and someone will help you, I politely said I have been sitting and would prefer to stand, I asked for my beer and he says sit to be served, if you didn t understand the first time. I tried to explain I had been sitting for 3 hours and would prefer to stand at the BAR and he walked off to do more chatting with co-workers. I have never known a worse bartender. The man next to me said he has been waiting 29 mins to get a second drink and that he wished he had gone somewhere else. I let a manager know and left beerless for my next flight. If that place is new it won t last long with service like that.
Love this place and it s close enough to walk there!!
Enjoyable little restaurant right where you'd least expect one. Visited Sunday noon and it was busy. Sat in the next door patio drinking coffee until we were called to be seated. Time from ordering to being served was about 30 minutes. Very pleasant atmosphere, and wait staff worked very hard to do a good job. Food was excellent, but a little on the skimpy side. I'd rather pay a little more to not leave still hungry. Has parking but fills quickly.
Food is pretty good. I've had the chicken and waffles a few times and was happy with it. Both times I've been though have been pretty bad/slow service, so I don't recommend if you're trying to do something quick!
I went to the one in SEATAC airport after it moved into what was once the Alaska Lounge (which was great). Service and atmosphere were horrible. I paid $17.00 for tacos that could have been gotten from Taco Bell. The waitress didn t even ask what side I wanted and gave me dry corn chips with no salsa. She had a talcum powder liability infomercial on the tv and told me and other customers at the bar she was too busy to turn the channel. She barely acknowledged her customers bantering with other staff members instead. Such a waste of money and time and a shame that this place has turned into this.
Quaint little place. I really like that their baker is so enthusiastic about making baked goods. He s good.
I was actually pleasantly surprised about this place. Its in an airport, obviously alcohol and the food is going to be expensive. If you want decent food you are going to have to pay a little more than you typically want. I am not a drinker, but people by me were drinking and seemed to be enjoying it. Service was very good! The restaurant was slammed, but the staff was always very nice and helpful.
The nachos were very good! They had a nice taste and the portion size was large. If I am going through SeaTac again I will be sure to stop inside again.
Bad delivery experience. The bottom of my $14 dollar scrambled eggs crunchy and burnt. Could not eat.
Love this place! Fried chicken biscuit sandwich is a must! Sit at the bar, the service is great!
Love this place! Great history and food, indoor/outside seating, music sometimes - all around a really fun place to eat and hang out.
We stopped here for breakfast on a whim when we were out and about and were excited to try a new breakfast place.
The service was good, although the server did not know what a Belgian waffle is, even though that is what they serve.
For the price I thought the food would be better, it was ok for a breakfast, nothing to write home about. It is pricey even for Seattle.
View was fantastic.
Thank you Sandy. You're awesome. The Portobello Burger is now on my list of most favorite vegetarian burger in the greater Seattle area. And the Virgin Mary was the perfect compliment to the burger. My wife agrees, the food was all amazing!
The food is delicious along with its unique alcoholic drinks! The patio is heated and offers a great view of Lake Washington! Check out the Bakery downstairs from the patio.
I've eaten here 4 times now. The first two times were good experiences. The food was good, the service was quick and efficient. On my 3rd visit, last Tuesday, our server was inattentive, forgetful, and unapologetic. She misunderstood my order causing my and my daughter's meal to come out wrong and incomplete, and made no effort to rectify it when I pointed this out. I ended up paying for food items I never received.
I came back a few days later and spoke to the manager about it and he apologized for the experience but seemed pretty passive about it all. We stayed for lunch, but the meal was disappointing. I'm pretty sure my daughter's chicken tenders were straight out of a bag and there was moldy fruit in my cousin's fruit bowl and hair in her salad. They did replace her food and comp it though.
I really liked this place when I first visited - the atmosphere is nice, I love that they serve breakfast all day - but after two back-to-back bad experiences, I don't think I'll gamble on a 5th visit.
Horrible service. Walked in stood at the counter. Manager said the waiter would be right with us with a smile. Then waiter Wales up to manager and said they ll have to wait Then they get into a little argument because the restaurant is virtually empty and the manager is wondering why he wants to make us wait. After standing there for 5 minutes of waiting and them arguing We walked out. They didn t say anything to us on the way out. Don t waste your time coming here!!
Cute spot, good food, drinks and views ... the view of Lk Washington from the upper deck is gorgeous
Very fascinating place with sweet servants.
Love from Kirsten and Arni from Denmark
30 minutes before anyone even looked at me. Don't bother unless you have a lots of time before your flight.
What a great place to hang out for brunch! Great views, great food, comfy environment. I can't believe it's not super crowded. New favorite place.
Fun decor, yummy food and good vibes music. Only downfall is having to go next door to order coffee. Would be nice if server could do that.
Went around 11 on a Sunday and didn't have to wait for a table, but overall the service was quite slow. There was only one actual waitress for the entire restaurant, and not a very good one at that. I would have accepted them just being understaffed if she'd been amazing and hustling but that was not the case. Once she finally came around to take our orders, she brought my husband regular instead of decaf. We never did get water or coffee refills. Once food was brought we didn't see her again until we were done eating and it was time for the check. The food was pretty good... My brioche French toast was the thickest and fluffiest I've ever had. Husband had the chicken and waffles and it was good but not amazing. The chicken was juicy but the breading was pretty basic and bland. I'd hate to see the parking lot on a really busy day - we had to park across the street and cross, and it's a pretty busy road. In short it was fine but until the service gets better I would not be inclined to go back.
If you miss it you're missing out. Friendly employees and great food also tequila sunrise was a great drink for 1pm all day breakfast
The food was outstanding, the servicemen better and the owner delightful. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Food is pretty good but the kitchen can t get the food out fast enough for how busy it is. Waited an hour for breakfast and the service was slow and unhelpful
Great food! It took a little long to make but made up for it in taste, cute, Quaint, great liece of history. I recommend going.
Very cute place with a nice view of the lake, but the service was not good One of the waitresses was just standing around in the dining area eating and drinking. Both of the women that came to our table had an attitude, did not smile, and just sat things down on the table quickly and walked away. At one point, the waitress dropped off my daughter's dinner and walked away quickly (was not busy) and 5 minutes later returned and we were able to point out that it wasn't what my daughter had ordered.
The food was good. Nothing exciting, but still good food....if you don't mind it coming with a side of attitude....
Great view, Phenomenal food, and a great vibe. Seriously don't skip this place
Chicken wasn't cooked all the way, plate were chipped and service was so slow
Quaint, service is slow but very nice so come prepared
The poutine didn't have cheese curds... They claim to use Beechers cheese curds. Have you seen Beechers Cheese Curds? MAYBE they broke 2 curds into TINY pieces.... Probably won't try again. Poutine is easy, I'm not even canadian.... Just put enough curds in the dish.......
Love love love this restaurant!! My husband and I love to treat ourselves here. Everything I get is always AMAZING!
My fiance and I got our drinks and food pretty quick and the scenery is beautiful. The Food is delicious and the drinks are as well. This is at the top of our charts in places to eat, quick bites and amazing food quality, and on our second visit they gave my fiance a cute little Mason jar with wine brands on it after telling us they were low on those cups and we could find them on Amazon. The service was great and it is our current number one spot for breakfast and lunch...dinner would be included if their hours reached that far. 100% would suggest anyone to go and at least try it out... I love this place!!!@
Went here a couple weeks ago for brunch. They weren't very busy, but we still waited over an hour for our food after ordering, which came stone cold and made one of our group sick. We asked for the check and then finally gave up when it took another 25 minutes, went to the front and requested to just pay since our checks never came. The waitress we had was rude and the food was not only cold, but one of us received an incorrect order and the whole thing was vastly over-priced. Would not recommend.
I've been here several times and various times of the day. It's consistently slow. The food is... interesting. This last time though I had a burger and the was black and hard as a rock. The "artesian" bun was hard too. The garlic fried were at least good. I doubt I'll be back.
Tasty food for decent prices! Margarita made from scratch and without a mix! Beautiful patio overlooking Lake Washington!
Very eclectic vintage diner. Great food & drinks. Fabulous view!!!
Poke festival. Great food, Hawaiian music, hula and great people!!
This restaurant has a great piano artist playing and is a very enjoyable place to eat. Food was on point and everything was cooked right. This is a great place for refreshing grub at great prices. There is a small issue on the front of the house where more training may be more needed. So if you're the owner and you read this know the only thing between my review at a 4 as a CIA chef and you getting a 5 was your front of house management. Other than that get more seating and buckle in because this place may be the nicest out of the city surprise in Washington. Tri tip dip was great. Burgers are good. Wings excellent.
This place is so cute and romantic!!! Their food was amazing their bloody Marys were even better! The service was incredible! Might be one of my favorite restaurants I've ever been to.
Went here for Easter brunch and the food was delicious! Service was attentive, And prompt.
Stopped by with the family today.
The smokehouse cheese nachos were cold, small and made with canned cheese. My daughter had a fly in her water which we returned. They brought the same glass back with the fly wings still in the glass. Not a pleasant experience.
Awesome service even with it being close to closing.
Waited 20 minutes a dirty table, never got waited on. Asian couple comes in, table next to me cleared, theyre waited on right away. If you're white you wont get served at stone house
Food is decent enough but overpriced for what you are getting and the service isn't great, either. Get as good a breakfast at Denny's and your shirt won't smell fried for the rest of the day.
Waited over 30 minutes to find out our waiter forgot to put in our order. At least he could have comped the coffee.
Not bad, not great. Presentation was good, but the food itself wasn't at the bar I expected. It's probably worth a trip on a beautiful day for the patio's water view, but I'd skip dining inside.
Breakfast food was very good. We were seated and served very quickly. Bloody Mary was very heavy on the horseradish, but the waitress was kind when I didn t drink it and removed it from the bill. Good environment with great view.
Always a wait for the waterside view. Even more with Covid guidelines. Order & pick up or dine in -- they text you when food's ready. You have to be your own server. Really solid menu. Garlicky fried chicken & thick waffles. Eggs Benedict perfectly cooked. Portions are small, though, for breakfast.
I very specifically did a search of the Rainier Beach area looking for a unique breakfast spot that would meet the needs of our out of town group, specifically early to late breakfast and something a child would enjoy eating. I saw the mixed reviews and decided to take a chance anyway figuring you're going to have the A team working the weekend as that's your money maker. Our experience at the cafe really put a damper on our fun weekend gathering instead of giving us a wonderful high note to end the weekend on.
The atmosphere is wonderful with a lovely view of the lake and surrounding hillside. I was rather impressed with the Hostess's can do attitude, she did everything she could to get customers in the door and seated as quickly as possible. She was also the only person we saw smile the entire time we were there. For a late arriving party of 6 on a Sunday morning we had a table within 5 minutes of walking through the door, there were no waters or silverware but we had a table and menus. The food was quite delicious and the nice hearty homemade experience we were looking for. A word of caution, if you're going to state you use smoked salmon best make sure that's what you're serving. My Northwest Benedict came with very obviously baked salmon, not smoked as stated on the menu.
Be prepared to play the waiting game. We waited 15 minutes before we had any water delivered, and promptly made our order at that time since who knew when she would be back. The waitress was quick to squash our desire for 2 separate tickets as there were 6 of us, was borderline rude about it. Most likely she would have gotten a larger gratuity from us with 2 checks than the guaranteed 18% she was eyeballing. An hour after we were seated our food finally arrived. IF not for the fact we were all from out of town and had long drives ahead of us plus a very hungry 11 yr old boy, we probably would have paid for the coffee and tea and left. During our time waiting, we had ample opportunity to watch your staff. The Kitchen was definitely rocking and rolling, doing their best I'm sure to keep up with the busy morning. A good majority of the tables were full the entire time we were there. There was an interesting mix of waitstaff. One person did anything and everything to keep business moving. She was taking out food as soon as it was ready (for any table), clearing dishes from tables she walked past, rounded regularly with coffee and water, addressed customer needs as she went. Most just did what they needed to do for their tables and only their tables. One we don't believe ever did anything but hold up the counter between the order station and the bar area. The bartender was marking time, there was no joy or pride of job expressed.
We honestly felt that since we were a party of 6 with a guaranteed gratuity, minimal effort was made to provide customer service. Honestly, if any effort had been made we most likely would have left a larger tip. There was never any explanation as to why our order took so long, or a quick "hey thanks for being patient, it shouldn't be much longer". The only way we knew our food was coming up was the delivery of the ketchup and hot sauce and our prime view of the kitchen.
My recommendation would be to fix your dysfunctional team dynamics otherwise you're going to start losing customers and that would be a shame cause you have everything else in place for a solid business. And teach them what good/great customer service looks like.
Food was decent however not ground breaking ...the view is EVERYTHING!
Great view but overpriced. Imitation homemade food small proportions. Friendly service but why did waiters have to crowd me and discuss work while I'm eating? Good house beer!
Rude hostess! Overpriced! 8 dollars for a shot with water! Discriminated against my support animal ! Get real learn to treat customers with quality service
