I didn't have anything to eat but oh My the cakes were beautiful. The place has great music and it's got a cool modernistic environment. The plants could use a little more love, but most of them looked healthy.

Worth every penny! We ordered eggs Benedict and the beef hash, both were very tasty and it hit the spot. Portions are generous a just the right amount. Maya our server paid a lot of attention to us and even took the time to tell us a bit about the site history. The place was an old town gas station and it has been preserved very well. The style decor is unique, a fusion of modern lighting, industrial shop elements, and NW flare. There is outside sitting overlooking Lake Washington.

Drip coffee tasted like it's been burnt. I told the waitress and she said "our coffee is strong." I know the difference between strong and burnt because I love strong coffee. She didn't even ask if I wanted something else to drink. She just left our table. Half hour later, she came to told us our order didn't go through and asked for our order again. We received a 20% discount after that. This is the second time that it takes them more than an hour to serve our breakfast.

Was very excited to try the onsite ice cream counter, Lainas, due to the tropical flavors offered! However, I was very disappointed in the ice cream quality and flavor, as well as the steep prices. I had the pineapple whip and it had chunks of freezer burn/ice in it, and barely tasted like pineapple. Wouldn t go back.

Good tasting food. Cozy ambient. Good friendly service, food took too long to come out, though. We waited at least 30 minutes until our food arrived (Saturday noon, probably peak time). Other people before us had the same wait. Food is a bit overpriced, i think. I had the baked eggs, which consisted of eggs mixed with spinach, mushroom, and ham cubes baked in a small skillet. Pretty basic ingredients and in such small portion that i don't think the $15 price is justified.

Has wonderful potential, but is obviously terribly managed. When we visited on a Sunday late morning, there was a planned private party upstairs that ground service to a halt. Unfortunately, the staff was ill-prepared to cope with five plus tables who had grown uncomfortable and agitated, so they made themselves even less available for our requests for the drinks bill before the food arrived. We waited over an hour for our food, which was suspiciously cold when it arrived. Coupled with high prices and so-so quality of food, we will be avoiding this place like the plague in the future.

Awesome location and building. Great food too. Excellent service is what too kit over the top. This is my new favorite brunch spot. It offers a rustic building, restaurant, bakery, and cafe. All at reasonable prices. Outdoor seating as well.

Great atmosphere, food was good too. There was live Jazz music playing while we were here and we really enjoyed that. Short ribs and tri-tip dip were very good. Definitely recommend giving this place a try!

I love these ever since an old friend made them for us, but I find it hard to find in the stores. Naturally, I had to try this place. I was not disappointed. Tried a sweet and a savory trumpet...the maple cream butter and the ham and english cheese. Both were great. Only issue is to check the days they're open. Make sure they're open the day you're down there.

Normally Stonehouse is great and the food was excellent as usual. However, we had an Irish coffee that had too much whiskey and sent it back to request a different drink. And the bartender comes over abruptly asking who got the Irish whiskey and I respond it was me. She then proceeded to interrogate us and explain how Irish coffee was made and that unfortunately we'd have to be charged, otherwise they would suffer a loss. So we said alright and that was fine. We thought the exchange was over.

Then the bartender comes back with a new drink and insists that we try it and that it's important for her to learn because she wants to make us happy. By this point we were uncomfortable and my sister lets the bartender know, but she continues asking that I take a sip and let her know how it is. At this point I was ready to do whatever to make the bartender disappear and she'd pretty much ruined our family brunch, so I take a sip and say it's fine. And the bartender then looks displeased and says Ok well I can make do with fine. And finally leaves.

I've never had a bad service experience here before, but the aggressive bartender and repeated interruptions to our brunch with the bartender insisting I try the new drink and give feedback pretty much ruined this place for us.

I have eaten there three times. 1st was breakfast - the best Eggs Benedict I have ever had and I've had a lot. Great fingerling potatoes, cooked just right, salted just right, fantastic.
2nd time: Dinner: Pulled Pork and Fries. Fries were just right - the real deal and the pulled pork was fantastic. I had a Ginger Beer that was nice and cold, so an attention to detail.
3rd time: Not as good as before. I gave a 5 star rating because I HOPE this is a point off the curve. The fries were room temperature (maybe a little above), the pulled pork wasn't as good as before, the ginger beer was given to me in a bottle that wasn't cold...so the attention to detail is either waning or this was a miss. I LOVE this place and hope they can remain consistent and end up with lines out the door. I know they can if they keep doing what they did when they started.

I've heard this place can be hit or miss, but every time I've gone, the food has been good. The service is usually good as well, but one time the waitress was kind of snobby, for lack of a better word. Overall, it's a good place with a nice view.

Terrible food. Went for mothers day brunch today. Have never had such terrible food at a restaurant. Cannot get over how terrible the food was and what a total waste of money it was. Eggo waffles, powdered mix scrambled eggs, cold syrup. Horrible selection of anything. Bacon soaked in grease. No refills on beverages. Just seriously cannot believe the waste of money. Much better breakfast is served at McDonald's. Would of been better off paying $30 for an egg mcmuffin than the brunch they had at The Stonehouse cafe in Renton. I will never ever go there again and will spread the word.

Reading alot of posts about the poor service. I agree.
Sat immediately and received water and menus. Slow business time, 3 servers, and a manager walked around us for 10 minutes. One rolling silverware.

Finally got the new girl. Bartender sent wine instead of the red headed margarita???

Onion rings took 15 minutes. But were amazing!!!!

I would come again for the food. But go straight to the manager next time with complaints.

Considering emailing the owner. Its are second time, same horrible service.

Staff was really attentive and nice. Not too disruptive of our talk at the table but helpful with menu and beverage choices. Right there when you wanted him. Salads we had were very good and huge!

Go for the cocktails. Stay for the excellent food. My tweens and I like to visit mid-afternoon after a hike or other outdoor activity. Service can be a little slow at that time, but usually faster at typical meal times. The warm beverages hit the spot and the fries are crispy and perfect all the way to the bottom of the basket.

I would say they have the best Americana food near my house. Everything I've eaten here, from the steak to the Monte Cristo Sammie and fish and chips has been superb. Might have to go for lunch now...

Horrible customer service, everyone ignores me for an hour before looking at me or asking me if I wanted anything and giving me the menu. They don t even deserve a star.

The Stonehouse Cafe is a quaint little restaurant along Rainier and one of the only places in this neighborhood to go out for a nice brunch. The restaurant has a rustic interior and delicious food. The menu is a bit on the pricier side, but you definitely get what you pay for. The patio affords a nice view of Lake Washington. Parking can be a bit of a challenge during busy times, so it's a good idea to park along Rainier.

The food and atmosphere were great. My wife had the salmon BLT with sweet potato fries. She relished every bite. I had the best chicken biscuit with home fry potatoes. It was great as well. If you're from the south don't be disappointed with the thinner gravy. It's just different. We shared the ice cream sandwich. It was great, but if they read the reviews, I would make it open face. That would avoid the ice cream seeping out. Great place!

I arrived on a Friday morning just before 11am to dirty tables and no sense of urgency to maintain cleanliness of seating areas, there was not heavy fit traffic, nor takeout orders from what I could tell. After 15 minutes of sitting at an uncleaned table without a greeting, I bused my own table. After 25 minutes of no greeting, no menu and no interaction from staff, I decided to take my business elsewhere. Only 4 tables had been sat between upper and lower dining.. as a restaurant manager, that level of service would be completely unacceptable in my workplace. During these tough times I would encourage management to utilize more staff to meet the demand or employ more effective staff to service guests. I will not be returning.

Such a great and cute place! The view of the lake is amazing! I love that they serve breakfast all day! Their menu is small and to the point. The ingredients are SO fresh, everything that I've ate there so far is just delicious! The staff is super friendly and nice. This spot is a locals favorite and has a very chill vibe.

Possibly the best french fries in Seattle. They use Kennebecs, which I'd never heard of before. I had to ask, as they were perfectly done outside, yet so creamy inside, plus much shorter than most fries. They came with my perfectly done Cod - I had the fish and chips. My friend had the prawn tacos. Also excellent. The portions are generous. The prices are reasonable.

Usually love this place, but coffee and food were a major disappointment this time around. Had to tutor the staff on how to make a proper Americano coffee. Meatloaf was bland and greasy. Chicken fried steak a hot mess.

This place has the WORST service and some of the food was just ok and some pretty good.
We waited 25 minutes for a waitress to even stop by, and had asked a busser to grab a waitress twice in that time. She never asked us if we wanted drinks. To be fair, she's probably like 16 and in her first job. The rest of the staff looked young and were acting inexperienced as well.
Some food was good - my husband's burger as really good. His fries were so undercooked and glistening with oil like the fryer wasn't hot. My eggs Benedict could have been really good if the egg weren't cooked solid and muffin actually roasted. My potato square things were chewy like they were in a warming lamp for an hour.
My dad said the same as the above about his fish and chips. Just soaked in oil like the fryer wasn't hot.
We will not be back here and would not recommend it, despite the very pleasant patio / outdoor seating.

We dropped by for dinner, the location is out of the way, but worth the short drive. It's a converted old gas station with a view of Lake Washington. The food is what I would call home style or Roadhouse . The Cobb salad and chicken dumplings were amazing. They also have crab fries, but those are with Blue Crab, and just ok. Great beers here, we are planning to return to try breakfast.

Cafe recently closed! We walk here for the coffee and pastries, and were redirected to the restaurant. Waited 5 minutes for the staff to acknowledge or presence before asking if we could just get some coffee. Redirected to the bar for more lackluster service. Only 1 pastry left, an oily donut. Not impressed with this experience, normally they are better. Hope the cafe opens again soon.

OMG So dang cute! There is a great view of Lake Washington. The food is totally delicious. (I went at 9:30 am for breakfast on a Saturday.) While the main dining area is a little smallish, it is extremely cozy and cute! Again, food is wondeful. I had scrambled eggs, potatoes, chicken sausage, and 1 pancake. I ate EVERYTHING!! (Sorry/Not Sorry there is no picture!) I reccomend to those who want to treat themselves to a nice breakfast (or perhaps a party of two). I will be return!!

Great location on a clear day and excellent food. They also have a bakery to satisfy your sweet tooth. Good for brunch, lunch or dinner - full bar and also an event area and nice landscaping area for outdoor gatherings.
