The waitress and hostess were not paying different levels of attention and services to different tables. Hostess saw us coming in and after about 3 mins finally acknowledged us. Waitress never come to refill water or asking how's the food beside taking order and deliver check.
Food was horribly proportioned in compare with the marked price. For 28 dollars, the finger-food size of short rib was overcooked and very dry. Got a full plates of unflavored roasted carrots and potatoes. Polenta was store bought corn meal cooked with cubed ham and without proper flavor. The whole dish was a culinary disaster.
The cocktail was just plain mistake of mixology. I am wondering of the bartender there ever got proper trainned.
This is a restaurant that I do not understand how can it get 4.1 star rating here. Me and my friends will never go back to the place and I will strongly advice NO ONE should ever invested on spending money on a place like this unless you just have too much cash in the pocket that has nowhere to go.

Food was delicious service was amazing. A big plus (for breakfast lovers) is that breakfast is served all day! Only oops was lipstick on rim of my water cup and it wasn't mine . The waiter was super apologetic and reassured they would monitor what come out of the dishwasher better. It's a busy place the inside is cozy and rustic with great view of the lake! Going again next weekend!

Setting is great, building is interesting, food flucuates in quality but is always acceptable, service and hours are inconsistent and annoyingly the owner has up front posted parking. However when it is good, the food is excellent, outstanding in fact. We want this place to continue and be a neighborhood fixture. With some tweaks it could be.

Not sure if this was their policy changed post-COVID, but there's a system in place where you order drinks and food from a counter and seat yourself.
The guy that took my order asked for my phone number to text when it's ready.
Fast forward 40 minutes and after returning to the counter I was able to get my drinks. The staff seems confused about which tables certain orders go to.

Great local cafe. Food and service is excellent. I just happen to choose the cafe to meet someone for lunch.

It appears to be a favorite spot for the locals. I would choose this spot again if I'm in the area.

Friendly staff and good food. I had the fish and chips. The fish was soft and delicious in the middle and crispy and tasty on the outside. It also has a nice view of Lake Washington from their outside seating.

TLDR: We didn't finish our shared entre and they somehow got ahold of my email address.

My wife and I were on our way to Zippy's for dinner and passed Stone House, and on a whim, we decided to stop here instead. It was a bit before 8pm on a Sunday. There were about 20 patrons dining on the patio. The hostess greeted us by saying that they close in three minutes so they can t serve us any alcohol or we could place an order to go.

We were a bit confused and said we could go somewhere else if they weren t seating for dinner. The hostess replied by saying that she could seat us inside or outside. So we sat outside after confirming an additional time that they were actually still seating for dinner as long as we didn t order alcohol. We opted to split an entre of the chicken fried steak; the menu described it as coming with steamed vegetables and mashed potatoes.

I paid with my debit card and left. The majority of the patrons that were there when we initially arrived were still dining. When we got home, I had an email from Stone House asking for feedback. At no time during our visit did I give the venue my email address. I haven t ever had any other establishment send me an email after using my debit card and I m honestly not sure if this is a new attribute to my bank or not. Either way, getting an email from somebody who I never gave it to is creepy.

Overall, it was a socially uncomfortable experience with bland food that was too rich to eat. We should ve just stuck with the original plan and followed through with Zippy s.

We walked in today and wanted to have lunch on the patio. We drove all the way from Ballard to try out this place, but then got rejected at the entrance. Because I brought my puppy. A baby, about 10lbs and super sweet and calm. I was asked if it is a service dog, i didn't want to lie so I was honest and said no it's just a baby dog. Then we were told to leave, because 'people could be allergic and it's not very sanitary'... Oh of course, if it were a service dog you wouldn't mind and no one would be allergic to that. I do understand the background, reasons to not allow dogs inside cafes - but outside? Really? I had read reviews online (yelp and bringfido) before driving here, and lots of people review this as a dog friendly cafe, and wrote how nice it was to sit in the patio with their dogs. Well, bummer! This place might be nice if you don't bring a dog, but super unfriendly to us today, both waiters were not capable of smiling, both looked angry/annoyed enough to not even make us consider to dine there ever. Thanks for nothing. And for letting other people eat here with their dogs in the past, but not me. How unsympathetic, how discriminating, how absolutely not friendly. Just close the place if you earn enough money without customers. Oh and another one of your guests came up to me and apologized and said that he doesn't approve that kind of treatment either. So you lost more than one good eater today.

My wife and I just ate breakfast at The Stonehouse Cafe, OMG! The chicken and waffles were amazing! Our lattes were spot on, the atmosphere was fantastically fun! The staff was wonderfully friendly and attentive. Just can't say enough great things about The Stonehouse Cafe!

There may have been a time when The Stonehouse Cafe was great but those golden years seem to have passed. I got their version of corned beef hash. It was okay. The eggs were just this side of done, by seconds. They were oddly watery. Despite taking forever, nothing was really cooked that much. Usually hash has a bit of crispy to it. This didn't. It wasn't very yummy.
I got a double espresso on ice. It was watery and bland. Despite wanting caffeine, I didn't finish it, and that's a rarity. I love caffeine.
I do love the decorations, a weird rustic/old time garage theme.
Staff was friendly, restaurant was clean. Prices were a couple bucks higher that I felt they should have been considering what was being served. Seats are really, really close together, you hear everybody's conversation, in detail. There was a really long wait time for food after ordering.
Overall, meh, probably will never return by my own choice.
