Max and Erma's Restaurants Review

We ate at this Max and Erma s after the Blue Jacket s game.. I had the bacon burger.. add mayo.. my mistake! The Mayo was like pudding! It smelled awful! I asked the waiter to check the date on it.. it was dated February 1..mind you the game was on March 9... just sayin! We did not ask for our meal to be comp d , we just wanted to make sure no one else became sick... overall from start to finish out experience was not a good one.. we waited to be seated.. we had to search for someone to even help us with that.. I would expect far more considering this location! A huge disappointment!

Great service from wait staff and the food was delicious!

TERRIBLE service.Unfortunately, my colleagues and I didnt get a chance to dine @ Max & Erma's.

We arrived at the restaurant on 20NOV2019 @ approximately 7 pm. I and the colleagues are on temporary assignment in the area for the next couple of years and thought it would be nice to begin looking at restaurants. I remembered going to the restaurant many years ago and convinced the group this was the spot......

However, upon arrival no one greeted us at the door. We saw a few other guests waiting but figured someone would come to greet us soon.

Disappoiinted - noone ever came...

I then walked over to a waitress I saw was setting up a area for a large party "I asked is this open seating or is there a hostess available?"... is there a wait? She to also observed that there was no hostess at the stand and said "well they're obviously must be a line and there is a wait so you will have to wait".... of course I am thinking how rude... I did not realize that on the other side of the wall that were additonal patrons waiting. Wow....

I returned to the wait at the host stand and for an additional 10 minutes and no one came. At this point, I began to ask others around me how long have they been waiting for a table and to my dismay people were quoting times of 30 and 40 minutes. Keep iIn mind that there were approximately 12 to 15 empty tables with no one sitting there yet there were 10 to 15 individuals waiting outside for a table???? As two other parties came in afterwards and joined the conversation we all decided to leave and dine elsewhere...So that was approximately 20 individuals!

It is hard for me to understand how a restaurant establishment at a hotel can be so short staff and have the worst customer service ever. especially on a Wednesday night when most people go out to eat in the business community for a mid week break not to mention the poor quality and service and attitude of the wait staff.

We will not return and think you should consider options before paying to park and waiting and receiving such rude service.

I had heard great reviews of this place but was left disappointed with lackluster service. The food was mostly great but our server lacked basic customer service and could not describe half of the items we'd asked about from the menu and even said he didn't like the menu items he'd tried! Yikes.

The night we went it was total chaos getting in. There was no one at the hostess station giving guidance. Once we FINALLY got seated, our server was great and the food came out in a timely manner considering how busy they were. The food is good for the price.

My question is why do they not prepare better when big events are in town? I don't understand why they don't keep up with the schedule of Nationwide Arena and staff accordingly since they are only 2 blocks away?

Worst place to eat at. I went in there for breakfast with my 2 boys and thought it would have been a good breakfast instead it was a breakfast bar that only had eggs and sausage and potatoes. Days Inn breakfast is 3 times better. Then to my surprise and also the couples sitting next to us, We got a $50 bill for 1 adult and 2 kids. We only had scrambled eggs and sausage because that is all they had. They fooled me once not again. Do not go unless you have money to throw away. I fell sorry for the people next to me, they about had a hearth attack when they seen their bill for the hotel breakfast.

Salmon cooked WELL DONE. Supposedly herb glazed, but mostly dry and flavorless. Mashed potatoes from an elementary school cafeteria.

We lucked out. We found parking right in front. We had a late lunch with a friend. The "Garbage Burger" is always an adventure. I have been to a number of Max & Erma's over the years and never have been disappointed.

Waiter was great. Went with 2 people and we all had the chipotle black bean burgers. So good. The drinks were pretty good as well. Nice location.

Loved the BBQ chicken here. It was good and spicy. Had a whole big plate of Nachos with friends. It was good. Nice place to hang out with friends.

Great breakfast buffet, came back several times during our stay, friendly staff.

Great food but the price... Excellent service. Maybe that was what I was paying for.

Avoid this restaurant, the service was slow, food came out wrong, and just an unpleasant vibe around the whole place.

The steak and meatloaf are my favorite dishes. Tator tots are always crispy and delicious.

Max and Erma's website says they close at 10. Actually, they close at nine. Somebody should fix that; I would have ordered differently if I knew I was short on time.

I love this place! Always have. Sad to see so many closing.

Great food, great service. Nawlins Shrimp n Rice is one of the best meals I've had out in a very long time!

Burgers were not cooked right. Ordered 6 cookies and they weren't in the bag when we got home. Got attitude from the manager about not having a receipt which I wasn't given but they then did apologize and are making it right.

I walked in and sat at the bar. It was 10 minutes before one of the bartenders even acknowledged me. I got a glass of water and ordered a Turkey burger. It took an hour to get it my burger and it was mediocre at best. I walked in at 5pm and walked out at 6:30 pm. It took 90 monutes for a Turkey Burger and water and the bartenders weren't even nice. They were clearly overwhelmed. I won't go back.

Service was AWFUL, so slow. Food was fine. The location was convenient.

Nice atmosphere, never really busy during happy hour times. I did however order a burger that lacked any real flavor and was a bit undercooked. The rest of the food I've had aside from the burgers have been solid however.

Horrible service an inedable food. It's very difficult to screw up a burger, but they did it and served it with cold fries.

We got there late, they seated us and we're very attentive

Bill, the usual bartender on weeknights, is awesome. Personable, attentive, fun, I've not met many better bartenders ever. Anywhere.

The garlic fries and chicken sandwich are AMAZING. Probably one of the best garlic friends and chicken sandwich I've ever had. I just didn't want it to end! The chicken wasn't dry at all. They're very generous with their proportions. Everything was just right. For the quality of food, the price was definitely worth it.

Horrible server named Sam. He messed up the same burger order twice. The worst part is he kept blaming others. Take responsibility for your lack of actions. Starters came after the dinner again blaming that someone else should have served them. Meanwhile every server was serving their own tables. The Mgr on Helen was very nice.

Great food, fair prices, tortilla soup, a staple, is amazing, burgers are made just the way you order them, and they're huge! Can never go wrong for lunch here!

We had waited 20 minutes to be seated, after several people had walked by and nobody was in sight we had decided to sit in the bar area as it was the only place with service. Upon arriving in the bar section the bartender looked up us and down and rudely told us that he said to see our IDs if we were going to sit in that section (one of us were 21 and the other 20.) After explaining that one of us was not 21 yet and that we just wanted to order food but there was nobody seating, he told us yeah well we are busy and did not try to help in any way. We ended up standing at the front for another 10 minutes while waiters passed us. We ended up having to leave due to rude and NO service.

Honestly, there are better places to spend money than this Max and Ermas. It's outdated and recently changed it's image but it is too expensive for the food and service is generally not so great.

Great food, great price, great service, great location across from our hotel! The Reuben & BBQ pork sandwiches were incredible. Gotta try more menu items next time! Definitely dining there again!

It was ok considering we came in at 11:30 pm and they were closing at 12. Couple things I specifically asked for were overlooked. But it was cool. fair

Always a good place for lunch - fast service and great sandwiches.

The wait was 20 minutes at the bar. Ordered fish and chips.
Fish overcooked. Fries were good.
Server was attentive and professional when we finally had a server. Fish was removed from the check.
Appetizer tots were good.

Poor customer service and communication. We waited for over 2 hours to be seated at a table only to be told that the kitchen quit taking orders until they we caught up on orders.

We reciently stayed at the crowne plaza for the weekend and max and ermas does the room service for the hotel. We first ordered on friday night, the service and food was good. So we figured we would get it again on saturday, that was a huge mistake called our order in and was quoted by a manager 30mins to and hour. at the end of the order i asked for the total and they were not able to provide one. so waiting on our food an hour and 15 mins have passed so i called down to ask about the status of our order after being on hold and being transfered many times the lady in charge of room service was Very rude telling me that no one told me 30 mins to and hour, that everybody has been told an hour to 2 hours. I know what i was quoted and it seems like they need to talk to each other a little more to know whats going on. our food finally showed up 2 and a half hours after i placed the order, needless to say our food was only luke warm at best and they forgot one of our meals. you would think an 87 dollar meal would be a little better than luke warm and a hour and half hour late. I was also told that the same manager that took my order put it together on the cart to send it up. Kinda seems like that manager does not really care about his job. I didnt get any food comped for the long wait or for things missing.. I will NEVER eat there again.

I was so pleased with my lunch at this Burger Place on a recent Saturday. My group of five chose our orders, received them and enjoyed our experience.

It's OK, decent food, adequate service. Nothing to write home about.

Food is good, great chicken parmesan! However they should specify that their TMC sandwich apparently substitutes your endless fries with salad... Also oddly long wait for a table when half of the place is empty. And slow service... Saturday night and understaffed does not make sense.

Very racist place. I truly like there food but I would never go back to this Max and erma again The bar tender is very rude and if your are of any color I would not suggest going to this establishment because you will get served last if served at all! This was a big disappointment!

Food is average. Service is usually fast and pleasant. Lunch options should start earlier.

Most pitiful Caesar salad I've ever seen; chicken strips tough and tasted like fish.

This location is not nearly as nice as the one that closed in German Village. Service is slow, the staff seems sub par, and they don't seem to participate in any of the loyalty programs.

Good spot for tasty American food. It's so appetizing. Service is typically great. It has a great feel to it.

Great food with good prices. They have many options going to shareables to heat dishes. But they lack a good service. If you like to wait you entire life to demand your food or drinks, that's the way to go.

Kind of pricey to eat healthy here but the food was very good and I would recommend it. Had the salmon with veggies and it was cooked well.

I'm from Pennsylvania but I've been told Max & Erma's was big chain. What's left is okay on par with Friday's. A decent reliable dependable meal.

All you need to know is chicken tortilla soup! Free fresh baked cookies on Wednesday's.

Like any restaurant in Columbus, the water is nasty. Pay for a drink, you'll thank me later.

The food was hit and my order correct and we had a large group of 20. Our waitress was awesome.

Food is great, especially the tortilla soup. Great waiters.
