Max and Erma's Restaurants Review

Tried out the Continental Breakfast that comes with my room...drab, unexciting breakfast. I guess I'm asking too much for a classy place eh?

The food was good and was not expensive. The only negative is that we waited about 4-5 minutes to be seated. A host wasn't at the front desk. I'm sure that doesn't happen often, but it was our first visit. We're probably going to eat there again today.

We waited almost 2 hours at lunch time for food that never came. We left without eating earlier today. Not happy with that restaurant at all.......

Food was hot, fresh, and what we ordered. Friendly wait staff as well. Tucked into a historical building made this a unique dining experience.

Mostly good flavors but poor execution. The French onion soup was flavorless. The pesto chicken flatbread had great flavor but the dough was undercooked. Balsamic glazed chicken also pretty tasty but not enough "glaze". Overall kind of disappointing food but a nice atmosphere would make it great for chatting with friends. Maybe just because I came close to closing time. Will try again as I've heard good things. Edit: really enjoyed dessert.

The food was great! The atmosphere was great! The decor was so cool! Our server was very nice and attentive and he made it very easy to love the place. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in the area.

Visited with my husband and son before a concert at the nearby Nationwide Arena. Were seated immediately, which was nice with the area being so busy at that time. Our food was good, service was prompt. They were unwilling to take a giftcard that we had because "they aren't part of Max & Ermas".

Love there food! Will always go back there when I'm in town

This was a great lunch place, but unfortunately since reopening, they are severely understaffed. Waited 10 minutes up at the hostess desk for someone to seat us, finally had to track someone down. Appetizers came and were stone cold, and at same time to entree came. Entree was ok so no complaints there but took extremely long to get. One of us ordered soup of the day but they told him the wrong one for the day, asked if he wanted another one and he said tortilla soup, which never ended up coming so he just had a water for lunch.

Waited over 10 minutes for a host /hostess to even show up at the stand....never eat at them again

They haven't able to take a gift card for over a year! Not good when I buy gift cards for gas.

Good food. Good atmosphere to get away from the convention center. Fast lunches. Love their club and fries and the tortilla soup. I go every time I stay near convention center. Easy walk across the street from hotels.

Ordered soup and sandwich and it took an hour. Since the remodel, this location in the blvd has significantly declined, going from mu fav place to I wont return. Bar server kept disappearing each time I asked about the status of my food. Finally learned they never started it.

No eggs no avavodos served on request . No wifi available for guest

They were busy and shortstaffed, but service was great! Manager filled in and got our drink order, one server took over for another who got too busy. They were even too busy to sing happy birthday to my son, but the server went out of her way and lit a birthday candle in his cookie and sang to him. Comped our cookies because it was my son's birthday. Food was ok, service was great! Somehow this got under the 55 East Nationwide Boulevard location, I actually meant to review the North Sawmill Road location.

Visited this place today at lunch. The bar employee was very rude. Never made eye contact, he was very short and frank with me, while he greeted the other patrons with a smile and respect. I'm not sure what I did to cause this type of reaction from him since this was my second time being at this location and recently finding out it exists. He threw my menu at me when I sat down to order and threw my food at me when it was ready. This was after letting it sit on the counter for a few minutes after delivering the order that came up with mine. I normally tip on go-to orders, but I made sure I didn't leave this employee a tip. If he is having a bad day, maybe he should have stayed home. I don't plan to visit this location ever again.

The breakfast buffet was depressing and the food barely lukewarm

Didn't see our waitress enough. Took forever for her to figure oft whose food was who's and didn't even know what the food was to ask us what we got.

Perfect! Great food served by incredible servers who have amazing customer service skills. Guest enjoyment and happiness is their number one concern. So many choices on the menu. I was in Columbus 4 days for a convention and I chose Max & Ermas for dinner two of those nights. First visit I had fish and tator tots, I don't like french fries and they have lots of options for sides so tator tots it was. The fish was two sizable pieces cooked to perfection. The 2nd time I had the hamburger special which came with a soft drink, I chose fresh brewed iced tea, a beautiful house salad (there were other salad choices as well), baked potato instead of never ending fries, and a warmed cookie for dessert. All delicious and cooked to perfection. Wish they had one where I live! One note:it is a bit hard to see the restaurant so look for the sign on the side if the road. Once you find it, it will be worth it!

I'm in town for a 31 gifts conference and while the waiter seemed friendly, the bartender was rude and it seemed a chore to serve me. Management was horrid and not accommodating at all. We came in with a large party for lunch and understood the wait was going to be about an hour. We each got a drink from the bar and sat out on the patio so we would be out of the way. About 10 minutes later we where asked to leave the patio because they where opening it for diners. Which was fine, we got up and sat in the waiting area. They made us wait another 40 minutes (so total an hour or so) and then seated us in the exact spot on the patio where we had originally been sitting and had been empty the entire time. Very disappointed with the lack of accommodation to a group of business women.

Typical, expected Max and Erma's service. The lunch rush can be rough here, so don't be in a hurry. The tortilla soup is always a good choice.

We loved the breakfast here and Denetta was so nice. She is a great server. The man who makes the omelettes makes the best we have ever had. Would recommend the breakfast here to anyone. Great selection.

They cook good food here!! Good portions too.. Treat yourself to the cheesecake

Hour and a half wait when told just 30 minutes. Had to ask for Silverware and water. When we asked for refills on water they only filled two cups out of 6. Messed up my order 3 times. Then to top it all off they brought us "free cookies" to apologize. They were the cookies we had ordered and paid for which means they forgot we ordered them. Nice final touch.

Horrible service, two times in a row. The manager spent the whole time playing on his phone. All employees including management talk bad about patrons, and are not quiet about it. Very immature operation. Somebody needs to "clean house."

Good food, bad service, server appeared incompetent and inexperienced.

Waitress was very slow and had a attitude. Waited long for food and drink order.

Hostess was no where to be found upon arrival. After a lengthy wait and multiple other parties leaving my wife and I were sat. The food was subpar and service worst.

Good food fast service. We had a party of 8 and they accommodate.

Arived at 10AM on a game day and was directed to the buffet, which was empty and would not be refilled during our stay. It was $15 regardless. Will not be coming back.

Great service! I was surprised that this was attached to a hotel, but they offered free valet parking which was much appreciated with three kids on a cold/windy day.

Good food for a typical fast-casual restaurant. We were quickly seated, given opportunity to review the menu, and served quickly. Very efficient.

First time ever going here. I like that if your at the hyatt or the greater Columbus convention center you barely have to walk outside to get there. They catered very well to the large amount of people I went with. The food was hot and delicious.

Food was good! However, we went on a Saturday night around 7PM. There was a cheer or dance competition in town, as well as a hockey game that night, so both the Crowne Plaza and Loft hotels were packed. They seemed to be understaffed for the amount of people staying in the hotels. Everyone was attentive and courteous, but the service was pretty slow.

Food good. Service ok. Cheated out of money when it came to making change. No coin change given back and 2 of us were cheated out of $1. Hmmm.

Food was great, our server was very attentive, generous glasses of wine. A little slow on bringing the food out on a Sunday night but our waiter kept us informed. Wings were great, black bean burger was execelent, my wife liked her dish as well. Would go back again for sure.

The area around this one was under construction which made the restaurant quiet but it was great. Food and service was awesome. My in-laws has never been there and they have found a new favorite

We liked our server, but the restaurant was dead- with only a crew people in it! I am a rewards member but manager didn't' want to honor the Mother's Day promotion!

This was the worst dinning of my life. While sitting at the bar, I was not served by one of their servers however, I was there before any other white costumer. Not only I'am disgusted how long she must get away with this behavior. I thought I must be Delusional because we have just entered a new decade. I could have never imagine Blatant Racist in one of my favorite places to visit in Ohio since I am from Florida but after tonight I will never give this place Business ever again.

Slow service with several missed items that had to be asked for several times.

Mediocre food, fair service. Chairs were very wobbly bar stools.

This is a typical Max and Erma's branch. They cater the Crowne Plaza next door, and are open until midnight. The staff is friendly.

I visited twice, hoping for a better experience. Servers are friendly but inexperienced. The food was good.

Asked for my burger medium well. Received a burger that was red in the center. When I called to explain the situation the employee was very rude & the manager I spoke with did not care to listen to why I was angry. He only wanted to get rid of me as soon as possible.

I was most thrilled to have my meal look like a meal. Everything served on one plate and not 3 seperate bowls.

Across the street from the Convention Center, with a large group in town you would think they would schedule enough wait staff to handle a party of eight , after waiting one hour for table, waiter forgets to bring out half the tables food, blames kitchen/split ticket, food cold, too tired, too hungry to argue. Many restaurants in close proximity to GCCC. Choose another. Columbus a great town to visit!

Great meal. We had the shrimp and pasta meal. It was tasty and more than enough for a dinner. The garlic bread was really good! Our server, Mike, was very attentive and polite. The price of the meal was really reasonable! We did not wait long for our meal! Great experience!

The food was good, the made to order omlettes were delicious! We were here for a convention and staying at the crown plaza. Each time we went to eat here, we had to wait for a host to seat us. Both times we ended up being seated by a server after having to ask them. So I cannot give it 5 stars.

I had the Bourbon BBQ chicken and it was delicious. Good size portions.
Stay away from the White chocolate cookies!!!! Very small and the price was $1.50. Not a wise choice. Server was sweet and friendly. Checked on us several times with a smile!
