Max and Erma's Restaurants Review

Mushrooms and Swiss was fantastic. Adult beverage was great also.

They don't take the Max and Ermas app to earn points. You have to jump through hoops to get the points registered. Service was a little slow.

Terrible wait time we was there over 2 hours before I finally found the manager and asked about our food. They then brought it out, but everything was cold. I do believe the waitress was trying her best but she needed help!! A drink order at our table was never received. Just an awful experience and I'm not one to complain.

Just an FYI and not a review: This location currently closed for renovations until 2/1/19.

Google Maps still doesn't have an option to indicate temporary closures and no better way to add this.

Otherwise I have never had any issues here during my infrequent visits especially during heavy convention foot-traffic.

Good food. This location gets super crowded during conventions and can have significant delays.

Wow! Even McDonalds is capable of getting your order right.. They can't even handle making a plain cheese burger. I said it 3 times and had a special note on it but still came with everything. This was what they gave me when I asked for a medium well burger... Completely pink on the inside. And they wouldn't fix it because they forgot to give me a receipt!!!!

Absolutely the worst customer service ever! Employees failed to answer the 55 takeout service (we tried over 30mins). I had to walk over to place the order the food. It took the host 7mins to come to the front to ask for help. DONT WASTE YOUR VALUABLE TIME!

Great option if you're at the convention center. Way better than their crowded food court. Good menu, good cookies haha.. Service has always been timely

Deserted hostess never showed. Seated by bartender. Waiter while nice was a novice. Only came 3 times forgetting any item requested before. Finished almost everything before we got a straw on the third trip.

We had a gift card as a lovely gift. This location doesn't honor the gift card. We would never pick Max & Erma's to begin with. So we walked never to return.

Service was almost non existent if you sat outside. Everyone had to go inside to request items. I had to use my plastic travel fork to eat!

Kristin the bartender was spectacular. Definitely went above and beyond. Slammed Tuesday and Wednesday but she handled it better than most in my opinion. Managed everything amazingly

Was in town for the Convention center and we stayed at a near by hotel. When we arrived no was there to greet us. We finally found a employee. She said they was short staffed. She seated us. Then didnt know anything about the wine selection. So I ordered a Cherry coke. They was out of baked potatoes so they substituted with mashed potatoes
( disgusting) my steak was cold.I never received a cherry coke.

Nice staff, but could use one more person working. Also the food was just ok, not great and not bad

Surprisingly fast service for downtown during Lunch. Order was spot on. Good vegetarian choices.

Buffet breakfast was equivalent to a hotel's free breakfast in quality but cost $65 for 4 of us! Had to ask for utensils. Had to ask repeatedly for water and coffee refills. Not a good experience at all.

Eh, the food will sustain life. I think food you eat at a restaurant should be an experience and actually taste better than the average food I prepare at home. Not saying it's bad, just nothing special.

Service was horrible. Bathrooms were out of order messed up our orders. And the place was completely dirty and disgusting. Wont be back

My fav location for delicious American food. nothing to complain about. had a friend come into town and asked me to take him here again. this place has a good feel to it. they have so many good reviews for a reason.

Great service. Easily accommodate our large group with no reservation.

Hostess told me that it would be a 15 minute wait, then 15 minutes passed and she said it would be another 15 minutes. The restaurant was basically empty and it was clear she didn't want us in there. Also: she proceeded to sit other guests while we were waiting. Not the best Max and Erma's.

Great American restaurant with great interior design and great service of American food and drinks.

Ate here for a Sunday lunch the last day of a convention. Service was slow, even though the restaurant looked empty. Food was ok. Better than convention vendors, but not as good as other Max and Erma's that I've had. Still, it's convenient, and you get to sit down and be waited on.

Average burger... charged xtra $2 for salad instead of fries... wasn't informed.. gad to ask why when check was brought. No desire to go back when i feel scammed.

Were there to the Arnolds. Great breakfast! Everything the bodybuilder needs. During the day we often got the steamed broccoli and aspargus. Top price performance. Noe our new friend has often made us laugh. All in all, great service, as you imagine and wish.

Hearty menu with plenty of "comfort food" options. Not too crowded, due to the location, but very convenient if you're in one of the nearby hotels.

It was just okay. Nothing spectacular about it and the menu has the same old boring stuff. We may have come at a bad time. An employee complained the entire time that we were there about him doing all the work and his fellow coworkers did nothing. Even though it detracted from our experience, he had a point. We looked around and saw quite a few Max and Erma's employees either just standing around engaged in conversation and doing nothing or gathered at a table laughing and having fun with one another. Very little attention was paid to the guests. I witnessed one server get angry when one of her tables asked her for something. She was actually upset that a customer asked her to go her job! Where was the manager during all of this? Why was this okay? We will not be returning to this restaurant any time in the near future. My recommendation would be to fire everyone (especially the manager) for allowing this type of behavior to give the restaurant a black eye.

Sat at the bar because they were at max capacity due to Ohayacon across the street. Barmaid got my buddy his requested weird cocktail, no problem. Meal took hour and fifteen minutes; same barmaid comped us without prompting for everything after our first round of drinks, including the meal! Great service, deffo check it out!

Took forever to get seated, and even longer to order. First time at that location since Pickerington location closed. Used to be 1 of my favorite places.

It was very busy on July 3rd. Still food was out sorta fast, waitress was very nice, dinner was great and dessert was better. 10/10 would eat again.

It's a very poor run establishment, the food is pathetic. Translucent fruit, stale sandwiches. Avoid

Went to the bar just to order a desert for a nightcap. He was really nice and got the order in and placed very quickly. Caked was very good.
Hostess was a little unfriendly. Seemed like she wasn't interested in telling me where to order. Didn't move from her stand.

Service has always been very good here for me at lunch time. A casual lunch joint with many food options. It can be a bit crowded during lunch rush, but I've only waited if I've come in with a large party.

Weird managers, micro managing, wouldnt back off the server, kept walking past looking but never said a word or offered the young man help. The blonde lady manager

Nice place to take a family out for a bite. Prices are reasonable and not crazy. Would go back again for bottomless fries.

I was welcomed by Pam. She was so kind to help me with my special request. She gave me a table near an outlet to plug in my computer so I could work and eat. Pam helped me make a quick decision and allowed me to share my appetizer with the kitchen since I was eating alone. She served me very gracefully while being attentive to her other guests. The food was excellent. My experience was exceptional. Great service all around. Pleasant staff and atmosphere.

I will come here again during my stay in Columbus.

Food and atmosphere was great. Lost a star due to thier crazy campaign to refuse straws unless you ask for one. They should research biodegradable straws instead of asking their customers to fight the ice cubes with their tongues

Food was great! Service slow because not enough servers. Servers were VERY courteous and accommodating. Many people left because wait time over 2 hours due to lack of servers. Tables were available. I would definitely dine there again. Worth the wait!!

the food was great and everything else. its just one thing. i was there and i was thirsty as ever so my dude comes in with my cup of water. it is about 50 ice at this point and thats aight. i finish said water later and then proceed to ask for a refill. my man gets his little jug and fills up my cup. the thing is i am starring intensely at this process as he pours and i see so much ice shimmy its way into my cup. i let it go and he walks away and my cup is empty in 5 seconds. fantastic service! he comes back once again and my cup is now 95 percent ice by the time he is done. that was a refreshing sip of water. overall great service, aesthetic, food and everything. but please dont put so much ice in your water

Insufficient wait staff for the only restaurant attached to a hotel. Both breakfast & dinner...who puts a soup spoon in a cup of bkack coffee then shrugs it off?

Always like Max and Erma and the service is always good.

Fantastic food, even better service!
We ordered fried cheese, kids chicken strips (which were massive!) pasta with marinara, and a Chicken caprese sandwich. Everything was well prepared and seasoned perfectly!
Can't wait for breakfast!

Good food, reasonable prices. It's best to call ahead especially when there's a lot happening in the downtown area.

Waiting an hour for our food and finally had to get it to go.

We had the worst experience at this location. Slow service we waited 40 mins for our food I ordered a philly steak and cheese no onion or peppers mushroom only my husband ordered a hamburger med.well I was literally brought a mushroom and cheese sandwich my husbands burger was burnt we never even received silverware smh wont be back.
