Max and Erma's Restaurants Review

The waitress "Brie" was so incredibly rude, verbally and physically (disgusting body language) that I had to leave and go across the street to Montana Mike's to eat. No wonder Door Dash and Uber Eats are doing so well. Food service is a joke everywhere you go.

Edit: after reading the rest of the reviews, it seems I'm not the only one.

Usually visit here as a last resort for lunchtime while working downtown because this place is ALWAYS packed with people. If you want lunch and you need to get in and out fairly quickly, its best to get there and seated by no later than 1115am. The place fills up and gets a queue within 10 minutes during the lunch hours. Food is burgers, fries and sandwiches, but they do have some other variety (M & E are known for the burgers).

We had to wait with open tables which is always confusing but it was good when we were sat.

The food was very good and our waitresses were timely, polite and friendly. Excellent service from both waitresses

My hotel breakfast is here. If it wasn't, after the first visit I would probably go somewhere else. Staff is grumpy, takes them long time to clean tables after previous customer, so you may walk in and find 10 open tables, not a single ready. Plates and glasses have detergent streaks, they seem to skim on rinsing. Hopefully washer did decent washing. We've seen staff pick up things that fell off the floor, and put them back on.

I had the Rueben it was amazing. Service was great. Prices were reasonable

No one to greet you when you walk in, have to ask for help. Took 20 mins for server to come to our table. Server then vanished for 20 minutes. Brought the wrong size soup out. Cookies were cold. Odd location. Seems like it run by a mindless owner.

I will miss them terribly in Hilliard. Great staff and food.

Do not go here for the breakfast buffet. Overpriced for cold food. Custom made omlet got to our table as we were leaving. A free hot breakfast from holiday inn express beats this place. Wish i had read the reviews.

There was no one In the place and it took forever to get a table.

The staff were friendly, but we stood by a dirty table for at least 5 minutes while waiting for it to be bused. The food was average.

Bonus points to the lady serving us for actually requiring me to have my ID to bring me drinks. I forgot it, but she's doing what she is required to do.

We got in there about an hour before. I waiter was amazing and on top of everything.

Didn t accept coupons, no sundae bar, and paid parking, just drive to another location and you ll get the real Max and Erma s

My favourite during my week s stay at the Crowne Plaza. Loved the variety of food choices, the fact that I had a say in how my burger should be cooked, the variety of cheeses rather than being forced to eat the yukky American faux cheese, friendly wait staff who actually remembered which parent was with which child/ren, and gave us our correctly ordered dishes, and later the bills!! There were 8 parents and 10 children!

Consistently good food but consistently slow and consistently boring service. I am not sure how they manage that week in and week out, year after year.

The worst service ever. Waitress was disruptive until it was time to pay the bill. Then she was too busy gossiping in lieu of doing her job.

Went here for lunch on my trip, it's right across from the Drury, a little pricey and honestly not as good as it could have been but maybe that's just the burger I choose. Clean friendly environment pretty busy so service was a bit slow. Only ate there once in the 4 days so needless to say I was not impressed with them.

Awesome experience the server had a great attitude and the whole family loved there food. We would definitely come back again

I sat down at the bar, the disheveled young guy that was working at the bar didn't even greet me. Just asked what I wanted to drink. He got upset when the tap didn't work on the Yuengling and threw his arms up that the tank that makes the tap flow was out and I'd need to make a new selection. I asked if he had it in a bottle, he said no. I said that I wouldn't like anything but water with lemon, he insisted I choose something else because he's already entered the Yuengling into the system. I told him no thank you. He then moved on to another gentleman at the bar and complained that he was the only one working so it'll take him a minute to get orders in. He shortly answered the man about his drunk as well, with his back turned mostif the time. I don't think I've ever seen worse service in my life! I walked out without touching my water. I was appalled at the lack of any kind of customer service/people skills this kid had. I'll NEVER give this place my business! His appearance alone was enough to turn around and walk out, let alone his horrible attitude!

Excellent Food Experience! Great Food & Great Service!

Stayed at Crown Plaza for six days and ordered room service and/or picked up several times during our stay. The food is average with a limited selection (especially for breakfast) and the prices are a bit high (in my opinion) for the quality of food you receive. Also, in addition to the cost of your meal, you pay a delivery fee (which I don't understand since they are part of the hotel) and add on the gratuity (which the delivery person reminds you of)! When I called to discuss the issues, I was NOT offered a refund; they offered to deliver the "left off items" within 35 - 45 minutes. Obviously, we ordered room service for the convenience and based on our schedule needs. It took 45+ minutes to get our order, only to discover they neglected to add the sides. An additional 45 minutes to get the rest of our meal... No thank you. Also, just a pet peeve of mine, but the delivery waitress this morning said they would pick up the tray shortly. I return to my hotel room 8 hours later and the tray (of mostly uneaten breakfast food (because it was wrong) is STILL outside my door. When visiting this area, I will not return (or recommend) this restaurant. It's a shame because they could do so much better.

Had avocado turkey burger with a house salad. WiFi was great for getting work done

Parking and location is more suited for the people staying in the hotel connected next door but considering Max & Ermas in German Village is now closed, this is the only location centerally. Especially if you work downtown. Went yesterday despite the parking, trailed through the snow craving the chicken tortilla soup goodness thats normally there and BOOM CLOSED SINCE 12/21 FOR RENOVATIONS. Location is just too inconvinent for me.

We came in was greeted with a smile. The service was wonderful. An the food out of this world. My husband and I would come back again.

Staff tries real hard, the beer is cold, and the bar food is edible. I wouldn't go beyond anything other than appetizers on the menu as everything else is plain.

Cheap and cheerful if you need to get a client fed and watered on your per deum. Luckily I don't have a per deum, or clients that drink (much).

If I could rate zero I would. I walked into the location on E Nationwide Blvd Saturday Nov 23rd as I was staying in the hotel next door. The hostess up front could barely peel herself away from her phone to bring my attention to a hand written sign on her podium stating 90 minute wait. I poked my head inside to take a look and there were maybe a dozen people or so in the entire establishment. I returned to the podium to inquire why it was such a long wait with so few people there. I was given a shrug and told I m just saying what my manager told me to say . I went to the bar hoping to get a seat and quickly grab a bite to eat, but the only available spots not taken by the 6-10 patrons was not biased, and there were no employees in sight. So, I left. I m really more embarrassed for Max & Erma s presenting their product so poorly on a Saturday evening that I was disappointed I didn t get a meal that night. If I did get seated, could you imaging the quality of the food that may have been brought to me?

Great food and good service. Somewhat of a wait and was difficult accommodating larger parties but overall good experience.

The food is excellent and staff very professional. The breakfast buffet is one of the best.

Overpriced for what it is, but does allow for a table service restaurant that's convenient to the convention center, as opposed to the food court. I usually end up here if I am at a con, especially if multi-day.

Service was slow even when there wasn t a lot of people. I got a cookie and it was cold. No ice cream bar. Ice cream was melted when we got it

Meh. It s no wonder Max and Ermas is going out of business. The food was bland and close to cafeteria food. I won t be back.

Service good, waiter good, however we ask if happy hour was still on and waiter said yes, we ordered, She came back 5 minutes later saying we just missed happy hour. Also forgot the cheese on my 10 dollar cheese burger. Note to manager maybe honor the waitresses words on happy hour, would have given 4 stars. Little things matter.

The food was alright. My Reuben came out a bit bland. Our waiter walked by us for about 20 minutes before finally asking us what we wanted to order, and walked by us many times before that avoiding eye contact (It was obvious we we're ready to order).

It's just another chain restaurant basically.

Good scene for tasty American food. It was so savory. The prices are fair for the quality of food. Food is like a place in Baltimore I liked.

Everytime I come the menue has fewer options, the portions are smaller, and the food is less tasty. The chain in general is a shadow of what it once was.

If I could give zero stars I would. Their system to check in guests is to write it on a post-it note. She couldn t keep track of anyone. People were seated before us with the same amount of guests that walked in after us. Then when we were finally seated, we were never waited on. We waited but finally just left. So disappointed.

We were finishing our food and watching the NCAA tournament. Our Alma Mater NKU ranked 15 seed was playing UK #2 seed with 2 minutes left in the game, when the TV's went blank. When we asked to see the ending while we finished our food they said there was nothing they could do about it. Then it took a very long time to cash out. We were staying in the adjacent property, but when we got to our room the game was over. We have no idea if we will see NKU in the tournament again. We do know that we will NEVER go to a Max and Erma's again.

Absolutely terrible service...as usual. Took 45 min to get cold food.

It took a little while for us to get service while we were sitting at the bar, but staff was friendly and we had dinner and drinks. It's a very nice clean bar across the street from the convention center.
