SO All in all I had a great experience and I will definitely be back. Everyone was friendly even the receptionist and the nurse. The clinic also looked and FELT nice and sanitized and clean!!!
I am currently sitting at Mainland hospital with my mother, who is having an allergic reaction and can't breathe. We have been here for an hour and we are still sitting in the waiting area. Horrible service... I would not recommend anyone to come here that is having a serious emergency.
I pulled up to the emergency room, filled out the info at the kiosk, and sat down. For 20 min, while my girlfriend is vommiting blood, no one saw to her. I asked if someone could see her, because there's medical staff standing behind the glass socializing and cutting up. The lady told me, "I'm dealing with a patient right now". A patient. Like they are only capable of handling one person at a time. Clowns! I had to rush her to UTMB in league City. They rushed her right in, and now she's in surgery. Thanks for absolutely nothing, big girl at Texas City ER behind the glass. You should spend as much time caring about people as you do eating and dying your frizzy mop. You will die in the ER waiting to be treated. Im sure if she was rushed to surgery, it was an emergency. I even tried calling 911 from the parking lot, and they wouldn't send help. Clowns!
Took my wife to your facility to be treated for a bit and I was not allowed to go into hosiptial due to covid I do not understand why not it was not a covid related system.and further more while in er doctor/nurse said they were going to give her an IV drip she waited all night to be moved to a room and here IV the doctor and nurses could have given her the IV while In the er waiting for her room and may not have to still be in your facility. I also would like to know why when I asked for more infro. On my wife I was told the nurse would be with me shortly.i would like to know why your staff didn't conduct themselfs more proffesionaly.
1st. time being a patient at Mainland Hospital. I must say, I don't think I could have had better service at any other facility. Misty and Richard gave GREAT care. Thank you for your expertise!!
IF YOU LOVE YOUR FAMILY DO NOT TAKE THEM HERE!! My mom went into the emergency room yesterday for an injury because she fell and they are the worst. They wouldn t take care of her and when they looked at her injury they were really aggressive. They don t care about patients at all. When my father arrived they were extremely rude and we decided to discharge her and take her to utmb. They call it killer mainland for a reason!
I've used them 2 times and the care I received was nothing like people say on here. Fast service and clean atmosphere. The staff, Doctor and nurses are great people with a smile ready to fix any problems you have. They seen and treated me with respect and I trust them for any emergency.
Nurses fine, service ok, but why do you have showers, towels and wash cloths and do not provide soap to wash your face and body and wash your hair. The only soap you have is a small bottle of pre-surgery soap?
Overheard nurses laughing saying they were going to unplug paitents nurse call button so they would stop calling. My mother says she hears other elderly paitents crying for help all hours of the night. She has asked for a shower and been denied one, and been forgotten about for hours. Reading into more of these reviews it's my understanding this happens often In my honest opinion this hospital needs to be investigated seriously!!
I had a negative experience a few years ago ,left a horrible review but had a chance to return recently and was very impressed by not only the new remodeling but improved care and performance by staff , I was seen quickly and the gentleman knew knew exactly what tests to i.d. the problem and tell me procedures and r/x I needed . A+
My mother was here for 3 weeks following a possible stroke. She was released back to her nursing home without contacting me first. I called her PC doctor (Shing?) For such a sudden release- received no answers. Mom then had a heart attack 12 hrs latter putting her back in the same hospital again. I would give the nursing staff 4 stars for putting up with dad asking 3x a day for updates on mom's condition. The doctor's get 2 stars poor communication practices.
Added 20,000 dollars more to a 4,000 dollar bill for emergency medical attention when they found out a woman won a settlement for her injuries. Put a lean on her home to get it.
Just last week we took my 6month old because he had a fever they didn't ask why we were here what was wrong or anything they just said sign and wait for you to be called and then shut the door quickly before I could even get a word in so we just left and went straight to utmb in Galveston mainland don't care nothing about anyone unless its about money.
The staff were courteous and very timely. The food was good treatment went well. However when I was discharged I got no direction on how to clean and care for my wound that needs to be addressed. Overall it was nice to get care there I would return but need those orders to take home.
My dad was in the Emergency room for 27 or 28 hours waiting for a room and they didn't do much for him since he didn't have Heath insurance at the time of his viSit
Im happy it doesnt seem like my husband is not in dire health but he came into er with chest pains 24 hours ago and still hasnt seen cardiologist and is just now getting an ultrasound on his heart. I suggest to try and go to Methodist instead. We are currently sitting in a room that we didnt get until 6pm, arrival time was 10am. Got to the room, very old building, slippery tub, very small bathroom, room is small. No menus from the cafeteria, which is never open when I want to eat, not open for dinner at all on weekends, minimal food otherwise. No channel guide for TV, this building should not be a hospital. The rooms are small that the equipment, like ultrasound and xray and even the iv barely fits even fit and thats after rearranging the furniture. IV cart barely fits in the outdated (but renovating floor 4 colors scheme as we speak) bathroom with patient, no room for assistance, you will be touching the walls if two people and iv is in bathroom. Thats loosing valuable time to move the whole room around for tests.
Horrible care! They almost killed my husband. Three days after admission they asked me if he could walk.... hadn't they assessed him? They kept him in bed, drugged him and sent him back to his nursing home unable to walk even though he'd been walking to exhaustion prior to admission. Do NOT let anyone you care about go to this hospital.
Just had my second total knee replacement surgery here. Could not be more pleased. Dr Terry Siller is great. All the hospital staff took really good care of me. Could not have been nicer. From admitting to discharge. A special shout out to Clarence from food service. He really cares that the patients are taken care of. Also to Jimmy in physical therapy. Loves his job. Been there 18 yrs. The house keeping lady and her husband, both there 41 yrs. All the nurses and assist were great. Special shout to Sarah. This hospital has employees that have stayed with them many many years. Sometimes you get a bad one but that is in any business. Employees would not stay if the hospital was a horrible place. I totally recommend them.
Staff has gotten nicer since remodeled. But time frame is still an issue. I guess it's normal since we do not have an urgent care that stays open 24 hrs.
I'm here for kidney pains my doctors office sent me here. Been waiting 2 hours and still no pains meds and just keep telling me they are waiting on a bed .
My mom was just here in the ER and I was not allowed to speak to her or see her. Her phone did not get service and she requested at 3 different times to use a phone to let us know that she was okay and not once was she given a phone to use. I also asked a few times to speak to her and they assured me her phone was near her so I should call her on that phone. The only communication we had was with a nurse. Poor service for loved ones alone in the hospital there. I would not take your loved ones there you won't be able to see them!!!!
Came to ER, ambulance said I was having a stroke, I didn't think so as I'm a surgical nurse, after staying in the ER for a day and a half not seeing no ER doctor, they drew blood, CT scan and x rays, still no doctor, I walked out. Come to find out it wasn't a stroke but a bad side affect from a medication. They charged me for sitting in a bed Stay far away from this hospital. !
I can't help but give a HUUUUGE shout-out to HCA Mainland Hospital in little-ole Texas City, Tx. I just left there after a three day stay. The Doctors, Nurses, Aides , Adriministation , and ENTIRE Staff and Crew, EVERYONE, were nothing but WONDERFUL ! I came in the E.R. on a Sunday evening about to lose my leg to an infection I ignored. They took me in IMMEDIATELY and, I was admitted into a room within an hour. Every step of the way was very friendly and pain free. The nurses, I CanNot say enough about ! I'm a big baby and Hate needles ! But, they have to draw blood for diagnostics, (Which by the way, they have ALL EQUIPMENT in house. Nothing gets sent out, results are instant.). EVERY nurse there, no matter how young, hit the vein the very first time, with as little pain as possible. I can't express how much I appreciate the profenalism from beginning through end the Entire stay and process . Not to mention the food ! The meals are All gourmet and, they even offer a menu of choices and consult with you daily to plan your meals Nobody Wants to go to the hospital, but this place, THIS PLACE HERE ! , .... I actually Enjoyed ! I considered it a small vacation from work ! Total Five Star venue ....... Clay Gaspard
P.S. Did I mention the Doctors ? .... Yes , of course they saved my leg. Good as new and , they are Good like that ! The Best !
I am extremely disgusted at the unprofessional behavior that I experienced today. The facility is old and disgusting along with the whole staff's attitude. They even have the poor "cop" telling people the Dr refused to see the patient. I will NEVER be returning to that killer hospital. It was probably best that they refused to see us. We probably wouldn't of made it out alive. We went down to the urgent care on 96 where we were treated like human beings and received the standard of care that exceeded my expectation. Mainland needs to be shut down. Period.
My mom was having stroke like symptoms (dropping face, hard to talk, etc.). I drove as quickly as I could to Mainland Medical Center. They left us in the waiting room for over an hour or more. I went up to the desk to see if the nurse understood what was going on with my mom. You have never seen people scramble so fast to cover there own a**'s so quickly! I will give them this the nurse up front my have been an idiot, but when someone else found out, they acted quickly(see above reason).
The staff was very nice and helpful. They did what they could with what they had to work with. I am an amputee of my left leg, I was confined to my bed because there were no wheelchairs for patients to use only had Transport chair, the nurse's phone for paging them didn't work, the phone in my room was broken into three parts, they only had tape on diapers in XL (no pull ups),try to put one on when you only have one leg to stand on therefore I had to have a person come help me to the bathroom (which I am able to do 10-15 times a day by myself) when I could get someone to answer the call button. It took an hour to get pain meds from the time I pushed the call button, the nurse's station pushed the answer button but didn't answer (could hear them laughing). The food was atrocious and you only had 2 entrees to choose from or you could have a sandwich with chips.
I went in on a Tuesday and didn't leave until Friday. I was alone and scared but the team on the forth floor was so amazing. They took great care of me physically and emotional. Thank you soo much! Tiffany, Tori, The 2 wonderful ladies in Respiratory Sam, Mary And Samantha
We took my father in because he has covid-19. Figured with it being the covid specialty hospital he would be taken care of. They ran tests and they TOLD him he also had pneumonia. Shortly there after, THEY DISCHARGED HIM!!! SAID THEY NEEDED THE ROOM!!! So he came home for all of a few hours but he kept getting worse. We took him to a different hospital and they have put him on MULTIPLE medications and put him on oxygen which is more than these people did. I just think about what would be different if he was still there and it frightens me to even think about it.
I have mixed feelings about this place it all depends on who takes care of you. But I for one would never send someone I care about there. But like I said all about who is on staff the day you go.
They won't allow in-office visits, so we worked for weeks just to GET a phone appointment. Finally, in mid-August we were given a date of Dec. 29th at 10am, with note to expect a call Dec. 28th as a reminder and confirmation. They didn't call on the 28th, which we attributed to the Holidays. They didn't call on the 29th, at 10am or any other time. The DID send me this email asking me to send feedback on my visit at 9:18am. Lovely =( Also, you cannot contact this place for a live person. We've called over a dozen times in the passed months and no matter what option you choose, you must leave a message on the promise they will call back within 24hrs. Firstly, you have to leave that message at least 2x and once it was 4x before someone gets back to you to let you know that someone else will be calling within 24hrs. IF you don't have to call back again to remind them someone is supposed to be calling you, that has taken up to 5 days (not including the weekend), and if you can't drop everything and take the call, you have to start the whole process over. Fate forbid there are actually people out there that need help.... Or, maybe, they're just hoping you're problem will resolve itself or that a patient will just die before they have to bother with them.
*UPDATE: Finally got in touch with someone about no one calling my appointment to be told in no uncertain terms: there'd never been an appointment on record in the first place. They acknowledge we've gone through the application and screening process but were adamant to the point of just talking over us to repeat over and over there'd never been an appointment made. When asked why anyone would go through the process to get an appointment, which takes weeks, just to not make an appointment, they repeated that no appointment was ever schedule. We were left with a promise they would send an email up the chain to get approval for IF an appointment can even be scheduled. Maybe the odds of their patients giving up or dying first aren't good enough, so they're trying to drive them to suicide instead.
*UPDATE: All right. Truly a liability issue then because I actually asked a rep I talked to if they were trying to drive crazy people to kill themselves by making out something they knew was scheduled wasn't and keeping them waiting months for an appointment, I got a call less than an hour later and an hour after that, they had a 'sudden cancellation' that opened an appointment for the very next morning. Hm...
The application and screening process aside, the actual session was surprisingly detailed and thorough. The nurse practitioner listened and took careful notes that he read back to me to make sure if I went to someone else next they would be up to speed. It went on a good hour before I was passed back to the caseworker, who made sure I understood about my medication and routines to take it and spent a bit of time going over the strengths and weaknesses in my life and my therapy goals. I was impressed. It's too soon to bump from one star to three because now that their liability issue is covered I don't know how appointments and whatnot will progress, but two seems fair.
Very quick and easy process during a late night Covid testing! Extremely friend staff!! Truly appreciate the sensitivity and compassion with me. Thank you to the staff Emely and Vanessa
Hospital floors & chairs were dirty. Especially in the middle of a pandemic. Also I feel like I didn't have a full assessment. They were more focused on giving me pain meds instead of trying to figure out why I was having pain in the first place.
Wonderful hospital. They were so incredibly quick as Soon as I walked through the doors they took me back. Not one person was in the waiting room. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because I didn't have a actual room just a curtain and gurney in the hallway and the Dr wasn't very friendly but i still recommend this hospital.
Why were here: We #carelikefamily at HCA Houston Healthcare Mainland and working together we #unlockpossibilities in healthcare as we #raisethebar in providing comprehensive care in the community we serve.
The nurse that I had, Brandi, was wonderful. My post op nurses were also wonderful.
There are three specific issues I had.
When I went to check in for surgery, there was noone there. I waited 20 minutes before I got to talk to a human being. I almost left. I was that annoyed.
The nurse helping Brandi, I believe her name was Chelsea is socially awkward an unaware of the things she says to the point that she came across as diminishing the quality of care provided.
Annddd the Anesthesiologist.
I'm aware that he does not interact socially with anyone on a regular basis as his patients are incapacitated but his bedside manner was rude. Entirely rude. I was having surgery on my nose and he came into the room and demanded I put on a mask (im not opposed to wearing masks) only for him to then immediately ask me to remove my mask so he could look and see if I had anything in my mouth. No hello,, hi, how are you... just "put on your mask" At this point I had been asked to remove my mask... it was best off for convenience as it had gotten stuck on lines and misplaced in sheets while they attached things.
Whats worse is, He didn't listen to anything I had to say, and ultimately... I had complications while under anesthesia. Not surprising in the slightest given my medical history and experience with anesthesia. When in the operating room prior to be knocked out he spoke about me and not to me. Unprofessional. I literally cannot stand this hospital. There is a consistent issue with how they treat people and its as though patient interaction is their least important endeavor. You dont know what's wrong with a person unless you speak to that person. Bedside manners are crucial to knowing anything that's taking place.
There is good staff here... but the staff with burnout is rampant and has been for years prior to COVID 19. While I would like to believe this is the cause.. its not the first time a nurse, or medical professional operating out of Clearlake hasn't taken something seriously.
If you have the choice between clearlake and UTMB. Go to UTMB.
If I could give a 0, I would. Years ago, they actually cared about patients, but now you are in and out in less than an hour. I went because my primary doctor did not have any available appointments. I'm in extreme pain & they basically did nothing. They didn't even listen to my breathing which is something every doctor should do. The hospital may look nice, but their level of care has gone down. I will never step foot in that hospital again!
I recieved 26 weeks of PT at Mainland Physical Therapy. The staff was very professional and pleasant. My therapist, her name begin with 'R' was so helpful. I never felt rush. She encouraged me when I felt down and progress seen slow. Her mannerism was soft that made me feel comfortable. Yes, I would recommend Mainland Mainland PT to others. Yes, I would return if I needed the service again. I have utilized Mainland PT for 2 knee surgeries and rotater cuff. Mainland PT thank you. Sharon Henry
I cant believe the way I was treated here. have been very lucky to be healthy. I pray that after the Pateint advocatecallsmeback they can take care of the problems that had happened. This morning I had to go I because of severe back pains from accident on Sat. The gecko went ok. The lady was nice and understood it hurts for me to sit and let me stand as she took my BP and vitals. She took me to my room where a physicans assistant entered . I explained to him what had happened. His demeanor was very ugly. I told him I can Noah on my back because of the pain . He did not listen to me at all. He then began to smirk and made a snide comment about the fact I was there for drugs!!! I told him that if he took the time to read the chart he would see that I do not take Narcotics because they make me very sick. He accuse me of being there for Drugs!!!! I have never done drugs not do I drink . As soon as he started smirking . I told him that I wil go some where else. He then said " oh we can treat you and give you drugs " omg REALLY? I told him after he made is snide remarks and smirks . After he treated me like I was dirt because I did not know how the gown worked. Sorry but I not sure about those thing. I told him it was best I seem other medical advice. He was not going to treat me fairly. As I was leaving the door would not open I. The emergency room. I asked they open the door so I may leave. A nurse came out and asked me what happened. I told her and she asked I wait on the administrator . As I was waiting a big security guard came out and told me to sit down. I told him I can not sit that my back is injured and I am waiting for this person. He then got mad his face changed and told me I had to leave the hospital. I told him I was leaving was told to wait. He told me he was kicking me out because I refused to go low his orders. REALLY?!Is this the way your hospital treats people ? If they hav a problem you send out some security officer to threaten me? As I as leaving I told him how sorry of human he is. I asked if his mother taught him to treat injured people this way ? He said he got me and my info . That means he will see me outside the hospital somewhere. So this is who you hire ? Foul mouth securty officers? That threaten the patients ? WOW THEY NEED TO VIEW CAMERAS AND SEE HOW HE ACTED.
The staff went above and beyond by letting us invade their break room to eat our sandwiches and her soup so we could be close in case something happened.
i have no health ins, they never once used that as an excuse not to run a test. they actually kept me another day just to run a test they knew i would not have to be able to get on my own. this last test gave me my answer i needed. i will now be able to work on getting the help i need. i have never been so well taken care of. All of the staff was more than helpful and nice. i will never go to a different different hospital. thank you
Took my son for flu/Covid symptoms and I was never given a room. They left us in the lobby for 2 hours and half. Every time an African American came in the lobby they were treated differently and taken to a room. Which Is fine but when I ve been there longer & im not being Acknowledged now that becomes a problem .. ! Worse hospital I ve ever been too.. Oh forgot to mention they kept saying his fever was 97-99 and when I got home it was 102.2 . And believe me when I tell you I have two thermometers .
The doctors are awesome the nurses upstairs are awesome the ER on the other hand is a nightmare you have nurses the act like doctors down there they dismiss you're suffering it seems like they have no empathy at all I've been in war zones that are better equipped to deal with emergencies
I came in New Years eve and the care I got in the ER was wonderful. I got admitted and was moved to the third floor and the care I got there was not so good. Nurses with bad attitudes I had to wait several times for pain meds for more than two hours and they always had the same answer that they way to busy. I complained to management and it went on deaf ears. I don't think I'll be coming back here again unless it's for something small cause the ER is the only place that knows patient care. Bad Hospital.......
This hospital is awful! Please do not send your loved ones here!! Every staff member here looks and acts miserable (they act like every patient here is a problem).
Rude nurse and doctor on 5/2/2016 I went up there they refused to help my girl the had the nerve to ask if i was paying and ask me twice if i was paying and they were not going to bill my insurance they even shut the door on me when i was talking would not let me get a word in told me to go home and to go see my physician. And the knew something was but did not want to do anything about who do i need to call to complain about this issue
Heather is amazing!! From the moment she came into the room she was a ray of sunshine and made me feel so comfortable. I was really nervous to get my lip fillers as I heard it can be painful and even though it was a little painful Heather kept checking in on me and made me feel at ease. I can't wait to come back!
Most nurses are great. A couple were very rude. Were put in a room with ac blower overhead. Sounded like train. Could not sleep. Put on liquids for test. Three days no test, no food. Three people tells three different things. Finally got them to bring food. If i didnot stay on it they would have her go 6 days without food. People smoking by front entrance. No security was ever seen, except in cafatiara. Employees loudly throwimg F bomb in cafateria. This place is in dire need of proper supervision. Been here many times. Always have been bab experience. NO MORE!. Everyone on 3rd flr was very professional and understanding.
My mom had the best experience. Everyone from emergency, ICU, 4th floor to the rehab floor were great. She was treated with kindness and respect. My mind was put at ease with the care she received.
went in today to have an emergency ultrasound done to make sure i was not having an ectopic pregnancy because of the pain i was experiencing ..(my doctor told me to go in because they had no open appointments) i got there and filled out paperwork..and sat down in the ER which smelled like B.O BAD! ...for 2 hours...was finally taken back to a bed the whole time holding my nose because the back smelled like CAT URINE so bad. it was hot and sticky in there as well. after a greasy haired nurse came in the room and told me she was going to take my blood i knew i was in big trouble. if you cant take care of yourself..how are you going to take care of your patients. luckly (so i thought) a different more confident CLEAN nurse came in and said she was going to be taking my blood....well...i now have 3 blown veins. and they STILL didnt get any blood. when i refused to let her keep jabbing me i was asked if i was refusing to give blood!! are you kidding me! i guess if me saying your not going to keep sticking me like a pin cushion is refusing then yes..i am. i was told i couldnt be seen without a blood sample and ask to sign discharge papers. what a waste. oh..i also was told to give a urine sample went into the restrooms and it was so disgusting i couldnt even hover over the darn toilet without gagging the whole time. my advice to you...stay away from this place. its dirty..stinky and the people there are as well. yuck!
I was sent to MMC for STAT labs and US. With the utmost care and consideration, I was treated quickly and cautiously, since I was in severe pain. The radiologist met with me and relayed the urgency of my situation. The results were sent to my Dr. immediately and I was then taken to a specialist with a same day appointment. Calls were made and everything was scheduled and handled by the staff of Beeler Manske and MMC staff. I had surgery the following day and received excellent services at Clear Lake Regional. HCA at it's best. Communication amongst hospitals with privacy and quality care. Thank You HCA.
I d like to say my experience was pleasant I only have one complaint and I m not sure where it came from but I kept smelling almost an overwhelming smell of like blood on the pillow In my hospital room other than that I d love to give the most praise to a nurse I believe her name was Tiffany and a RN by the name of josh or John(I m bad with remembering names) but none the less they were the best staff members through my stay. I will continue my future emergency needs here at this campus thank you for the calm experience during a rough time.
I want to tell you that yall have a wonderful person working for yall,we are still here visiting my mother in law and the person that came to see if she was going to need speach therapy was so nice and helpful .her name is Carla and came to room 452
When my husband got the flu his doctor was on vacation....so I made an appointment with Dr IYER. She was very professional and took good care of him. About a week later I need medical help and my doctor was too busy to see me .... so I made an appointment with Dr. IYER. Again she was very through and profession. She ran several tests and got to the bottom of my problem. Now I am going to use her permanently.
Horrible is all I can say. Takes hours for results from testing, been in ER waiting on transfer to room for over 12 hours no one can provide a timeframe just get a few hours each time when you ask. No communication what so ever.
My husband and I have both been hospitalized at Mainland twice and felt well-cared for during all of the hospitalizations. (Neither of us had been to Mainland until after he received very poor care at another hospital.) This is definitely our community hospital and we will continue to chose it for our care. In the interest of full disclosure, I work part-time at Mainland. I chose to apply for a job here after seeing how well my father was treated after he broke his hip. I had heard bad things about Mainland and none of them turned out to be true; the care he received was excellent and the doctors and nurses were great. I have since had the opportunity to bring nursing students here for five rotations and they have been, without a doubt, the most positive rotations based on the students' comments about what they learned about providing good patient care. Would highly recommend Mainland even if I did not work here!
The icu nurse was going thru questions with my mother about her health my mother is hard of hearing and was doing her best to answer her questions some of her answers were not just yes/no and needed to be explained the nurse impatiently rolled her eyes at her in front of me I couldn't believe it at the end of the nurses questionnaire she explained that the call button is for emergency use only I work in the medical field and have never ever heard such a thing that totally contradicts what it was made for all I can say is this hospital obviously doesn't give two terds about patient satisfaction I feel very uneasy leaving my mother in mainlands care
I was very satisfied with most everything. There was 1 nurse on 11-7-19. I called for meds, he came emptied the potty chair and left. Had to call again for meds. I was discharged without post op instructions. My pain med prescription was left in my file. Bless the nurse that found it and called so my husband could get it.
My visit for day surgery at HCA HH Mainland was exemplary! The nursing staff was kind, welcoming and skilled in preparing me for my procedure and post-op care. Their care and concern for my wellbeing was without question.
They left a me on the pot for well over an hour, they also don't do follow up appointments for you (you have to do them yourself), hardly any channels to watch, my cardiologist was dumbfounded by the lack test they did and had to go off very limited notes. If you can, make the drive to UTMB!!!!!!!
Today dr Beverly Lewis saved my wife s life. For years my wife has been in and out of UTMB Galveston emergency room always sent home saying nothing wrong. For 2 years no help. Today my wife was taken to your emergency room at 80lbs and going down hill fast but dr Beverly Lewis figured out what was wrong and operated and saved my wife s life. I rate your place with 10 stars thank you for saving my wife s live. From Kevin BULLDOG Davis
My boyfriends left arm broke both bones. When we arrived to the er there was only one person there. While he was writhing in pain, the person who checks you in then decided to help the woman first even after she asked him to help my boyfriend first, but he refused while also taking his time. After the surgery on the 27th at 7am done by 9am it is now a day later on the 28th, and we still haven t spoken to either of his doctors. No pictures have been received for the after surgery, and we re not even sure what all they have done to his arm. Besides this, we were also given no instructions on how to treat it. While the nurses tried to be as helpful as they could, with no information from the doctor it seemed as if they were either poorly informed or all on different pages. For all of our questions it would be we need to wait on the doctor or we would receive an answer from the nurse that seemed more like a guess. This entire experience has been extremely unpleasant and I would much rather prefer the longer drive for a better hospital. If there is anyone who knows how I could get in contact with someone to speak about this specific situation, and the doctor involved, it would be helpful.
I had a total knee replacement. Everyone from admitting to preop to surgery to post surgery, were caring, thoughtful and professional. No complaints here.
Had a CT scan today at Mainland Medical Center 10/11/2016 at 3pm everyone was polite and friendly at the front counter where the 3 receptionist worked in the imaging dept. one lady even got me a blanket because I was having cold chills, that was very thoughtful. All was good until the catheter was placed in my arm, a definite red flag went up when the very young lady taking the CT scan didn't know how to hook up the IV to run the dye into my body she was not familiar with the type of needle that the other lady had inserted into my left arm, this was a very concerning situation to me because the lady that inserted the catheter had to explain to the CT tech how to hook up the IV which she did in great detail... this was a relief to me, this young lady needs more training in my oppinion... I only hope this is the only dept that lacks alittle training. Yes this makes me nervous if I may need to have surgery at this hospital.
