2018. 42 hours of non-stop excellent care. Caring, tireless and energetic floor nurses, nurse techs, case manager, technicians from various departments and even doctors. We were pleasantly surprised and thankful. Great food service. Temperature control in room so we could adjust at will. Plenty of supplies. As in any hospital, I would like to have seen someone cleaning bath, floors, door handles and surfaces more regularly. All in all, EXCELLENT!

I really really would appreciate it if someone who is VP would call Me so I can let them know my experience, I don t want to post my review on here stating my experience so please please give me a call I don t want a Patient Advocate to call me.

Professional behavior, friendly helpful staff, attention to details and my needs from entrance to several days stay. Hospitals are not resorts but if you have to use one, I recommend Mainland.

My family and I was overly impressed with the professional,friendly atmosphere of this hospital. My wife was diagnosed with a unexpected major illness. during the admitting and testing period we could have not asked for better care. The ER department didn't delay getting to the bottom of the problem. The shift nurses on the 4th floor kept her clean and comfortable 24-7 during her 5 day stay. Our family graciously Thanks You Mainland Hospital, Doctors & Staff for your excellent care.

Amazing care from ED, to OR, to Recovery Room, to Post OP. Each and every HCA employee demonstrated care and concern for my well being. They also made sure my husband was kept informed throughout the process.

I was treated extremely well and taken very good care of during my stay. The staff was very attentive and friendly. I really appreciate all they did for me and their desire to make sure that I was comfortable.

I got a little relief, but I don't think they completed the procedure and I will be returning.

I went in tonight waited an hour to see the triage nurse. He called me back there asked me what was going on. I told him I had knots in my arm and they hurt and I came n a week before and did a whole week of antibiotics and it didn't help I tried to get him feel them after he looked and said I don't see anything there so they aren't gonna do anything and I said yes there is they are right here and I moved my hand across my arm. So he puts his fingers n the pit of my arm pushes down and says nope don't feel nothing when that is not where I showed him they were and then I said no here and proceeded to show him again and then he says to me I'm not gonna feel your arm I don't see anything so there is nothing there. So they ain't gonna do anything n the back. Every time I tried to say something he would go there's nothing there. So I stood up n said I'm going to utmb and he said fine with me makes my night easier. Well turns out I had blood clots n my arm and an infection from having an I.v. during a a hysterectomy I had on April 14 to remove ovarian cancer. So thanks you rude senseless dimwitted person a two year old can feel what u said wasn't there and a person who is well educated should fire your stupid ass because its your job to listen and find out what is going on so put in the system so the Dr has some type of info walking into the room.

Took my sister in right away with chest pains. She had an excellent RN, Michelle, in the E.R. and Dr. Patel is taking great care of her as well!!

The staff @ Mainland were truly everything you'd wish for, at least for a Hospital visit. :-) Very attentive and competent.

I have been admitted for blood clot. The staff here have been wonderful to me. Made aure i had everything i needed and would come in my room to check on me. Dean and all the staff of the 3rd floor Progressive Care team are awesome. Thank you for taking hood care of me.

Wonderful and courteous employees like Jessica (Admitting), Liz (Radiology Mgr), Irma (Radiology Receptionist), Chelsea (Radiology Tech), can make a hospital visit a pleasant experience.

Rude staff dirty rooms dirty bathrooms my girlfriend is a patient their ER waiting to be transferred to a different hospital that they refuse to tell her the name of and they now are refusing to let me see her so I can tell her goodbye because I'm going to Arizona and won't be back for a month the lady at the nurses station was extremely ruin and cut me off every time I spoke even though I came in with her last night if i could give this place no stars I would

Where do I start.. well.. I was in the icu with severe svt got treated with severe disrespect by the nurse leader yelling in my face. Had to soeak to gi as well as my feeding tube was broken. When finally out of 20 hours of svt was put on a normal floor and gi got mad at me cor refusal to be moved to clear lake regional rather than utmb where my doctors are (input mode literal abusive yelling in my face] gi doctor discontinued ALL my medications. I was fighting a very severe infection that triggered off the bad episode of svt. Becayse it was either his way or no way (clear lake) I was gonna be discharged in my very sick state with no antibiotics (mind you my blood worm and infection markers were very high) we left ama and went to my hospital to get my tube fixed
Unforntunetly I am STILL fighting this infectiom bc pf these doctors. This is... 2...3...4 times I've almost been killed in the hands of mainland in less than 3 momthsb had I and my sister not taken matters into our own hands. Worst part is? they put i was discharged and recieved proper care and was better. Liars to make themselves look better. I wouldnt ecen take my imaginary dog there
Only xrap thi g is when I have an emergency requiring g 911 i cant bypass mainland ar they are 5 minutes away.. but when given the chance you vet gour butt I will avoid them so I wont die at their hand!!! Do not go there

Morgueland is more like it

Mainland Morgue is what we refer to it as. We have finally had enough. Emergency room visit in October 2018. Allison F. with "Charge Nurse" on her name tag blew my vein out and also damaged a nerve in my left arm. I yelled the F word and I didnt even know that word was in my vocabulary. I still have pain in that arm and it's been over 2 months. Even the slightest touch to my wrist bone is painful. I've never had trouble being stuck for IVs or having blood drawn. Her bedside manner was very cold. I went and retrieved my medical records. So many things that were input were not true. Including the most important one which was "patient was better before she left" and "patient was given discharge instructions ". Completely false. I've given this ER chance after chance hoping it will get better and that's just not the case. I will now be taking that extra 5-10 minute drive up 45N to get the care that I deserve. On a positive note the guy that came and got me to take me to have a CAT scan was excellent. Treated me as a patient should be. I have so many other unbelievable poor experiences here that I have kept to myself truly hoping for improvement. Unfortunately nothing has changed.
Side note this hospital is not worthy of having Dr Siller practice there. Hes a top notch orthopedic Dr.
UPDATE I had to go the ER again and chose to be taken to Clear Lake Regional. I ended up being admitted and the care there was excellent! The nurses and doctors were so nice. The place was clean and I felt safe there. You dont walk down the hallway and hear an abundance of beeps from machines or nurse call buttons being ignored. Mainland is the worst at ignoring those. Its been that way for years. I believe that Clear Lake Regional is now tied in with Mainland somehow. So sad, not sure what they were thinking. Two totally different enviornments, clientele, cleanliness, concern about your care etc. So happy I've made this change.

MMC literally saved my husband's life! The staff was very professional and extremely caring!

The entire staff at Mainland Hospital were first class in their knowledge, skill and professionalism concerning the care of my father. The ICU was superb, providing high quality care to Dad and keeping us in the loop on all aspects of his treatment, putting us at ease during a time of turmoil. Outpatient services have also been excellent, since hospitalized, we've returned for a few procedures and tests. I can say the quality of care and services has been consistent, no matter where we have received services within the hospital. Mainland gets an A+ from me, without the attention to detail and rapid response by the staff, my Dad would not be alive today. Many thanks to you all!

If you have no expectations for quality healthcare this "hospital" is just right for you.

My father died hear. Correction it was MURDER caused by their negligence. We are kicking ourselves that no one could get a hold of the EMTs sooner to tell them NOT to bring him to this trash center but take him to his trained doctors at Clear Lake Regional.
It was absolutely atrocious the lack of treatment, care, zero sense of urgency, under trained staff showed to an incapacitated Retired Sergeant Major.
Zero accountability.
I would wager that every single "nurse" "aide" or doctor here were the people who just got by in school. "C's" get degree personified.
This place needs an enema, starting with the 3rd floor and the bums running the window in the emergency room.

Unacceptable does not cover.

Everyone was very friendly and professional. Especially the CT Scan tech. Thank you all for the wonderful caring experience.

I recently had a total knee replacement surgery at a different hospital. I came to Mainland to stay in their Inpatient Rehab Unit and stayed for 2 weeks. The care I received there was wonderful. All the Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, nurses, and doctors were compsssionate and caring. They explained why I was doing certain exercises etc. They answered all my questions and took really good care of me. I highly recommend their Inpatient Rehab program.

The medical care was superb and the nursing staff amazing. Only one unfortunate incidence durning my week long stay. The food was fantastic! My only complaint is that I am diabetic and they kept bringing me sugary desserts. I made a hit with my nurses though, giving the desserts to them!

Sister had Cardio Echo test. Everything went on schedule and done very efficiently. CD for Cardiologist in Houston produced and supplied to be delivered to that Dr. Thanks.

I almost cut off my thumb and the treatment was awesome. The NP was awesome along with the rest of the staff.

I recently had my knee surgically repaired for multiple torn meniscus & multiple torn ligaments at this hospital. From when I arrived to when I was wheeled out the doors I had a tremendous experience. Everyone was attentive and very personable. Bedside manners were perfect. There was never a moment that I didn't feel like I wasn't in good hands. I was impressed with the staff from top to bottom

I was checking my credit report, and a medical bill I was never notified about showed up as a derogatory mark on my report back from 2016! I have was given no calls about this and thought my insurance had taken care of the instance... NO I WAS SORELY WRONG!!!! Not only did the put my girlfriend in more pain than she came in with and had me undergo a pointless X-Ray scan (I know it was pointless and tried saying something about it at the time because they had X-Rayed the wrong leg completely, but my words fell on deaf ears.) but every time I have been before has been a complete nightmare, I typically now say screw them and go to Utmb er in Galveston. But this is terribly disturbing that this particular hospital lovingly called Mainland Morgue can t even manage to call its patients about a $1774 overdue fee!!! This hospital needs to undergo a severe management and worker overhaul ASAP!

My poor mother is in the psychiatric unit. She has Alzheimers Dementia and started refusing meds. Baywind sent her there due to her psychotic reaction to med changes. Since my mom has been at Mainland, she has digressed tremendously. The facility is nasty, dirty, and short staffed. I have cleaned my mom, her toilet and bedding myself. Every time my dad visits, she is wet, sitting in a chair, doing absolutely nothing. They are there to numb them out. My mother has lost every ounce of progress she made, before being there. I'm sick, upset and furious. But, they are numb to families like ours.

I used to say that I would not bring my sick dog here. However, I have opted to change my mind after the cardio team brought my dad back from the dead!

From the janitor to the doctor and nurses , all was just awesome. Very great facility and friendly staff. Incredible people. Thanks HCA.

I was elated concerning my visit. Each person that helped me was extremely nice. especially the lady that gave me the scan,

Very professional and caring. All the staff I meet are top notch people smart but still caring people. These people know their stuff.

I recently had a miscarriage and went to this hospital. They wouldn't let my fiance go with me after everything had just happened not even an hour before. I didn't have to wait long luckily before I was called back and my nurse was nice. I sat in a "room" (behind a simple curtain) listening to 8 nurses and security guards sitting around doing nothing, sitting with their masks down talking about fighting people and gossiping. I had an ultrasound and a shot, they never even asked about my bleeding or offered anything for it. I was there for 5 hours, my doctor was not very nice, definitely was giving me attitude when im going through something traumatic. Then I get a bill for over $500 when I was left to pretty much just sit there and bleed on myself. My insurance company tells me they wanted to charge them $25,000 for doing absolutely nothing. I do not recommend this place at all.

I would like to say thanks to everyone who took care of me I appreciate the talks and crying moments keeping me encouraged that I was going to get better special thanks to my nurses Brandi,Jenni and Mrs.Wili God bless y'all and the whole team on the 3rd floor...

Entered ER at 4:30pm with projectile vomiting and severe abdominal pain. Was evaluated by nurses and Dr rather quickly. Tests ordered. Treatment was excellent until shift change. Medication for vomiting wore off. Started calling for help at 11pm. No one came until after 3am. Had to unhook myself from IV, heart monitor, ect to use restroom. This was difficult as I was covered in bodily fluids. No beds available on the floor.
This occured due to understaffing not incompetence. The ER was very busy and not set up for long term care. Once on the floor treatment could not have been better. I did speak with a patient advocate prior to discharge concerning understaffing a critical area.

I do not know the ladies names, but from the front door COVID testing area through my lung CT scan all I dealt with was very nice ladies. Very impressed. The young girl in CT scan could not have been nicer. Just a great experience.

Everyone is always very helpful and concerned about the patient's well-being and safety. Have been going to Mainland for all my tests, being a ten year breast cancer survivor. Keep up the great work.

My grandmother she went in the hospital 2 weeks ago and they have came to her room and cleaned it and made sure she was ok

HCA Houston Healthcare Mainland did an amazing job taking care of me while I was ill. My ICU nurses, Bri and Robert, were caring and informative as they explained everything that was happening to me and the diagnostics that would be required for my treatment. I met excellent caring people from custodial services to imaging and diagnostics to ICU nurses. All were friendly and helpful.

Everyone who has a serious medical emergency that goes here usually dies. Sad. No bloodless management options. This place is the worst hospital here. Go to UTMB OR CLEARLAKE.

The wait was long but once I did get back to ultrasound the lady was very professional and knowledgeable.

I first got a call from nurse Renee for my pre-op consultation. She was AWESOME. We bonded over the phone and she promised to come by to meet me. (which she did!)

Everyone on the team was super nice, smiling and made me feel at ease.

On the financial side, I knew exactly what was expected from me before hand and there were no surprises.

I will definitely choose HCA if I have to have more procedures!

My mother has dementia and lives in Ashton Parke Care Center, a very good nursing home. She was taken to the ER after blood was found behind her ear, and was running down her neck. I called this so called hospital, and the person who answered was very rude, and didn't give me any information except she had been taken back to the nursing home already. The nursing home called them as well, and was given attitude about " too many people calling about this person". They also gave the nursing home staff different information. My husband called and the same woman told him "Geeezzz..She's been sent back, and 3 people have called about her already".

Of course we are going to call to see if she is still there or not! Of course I want info on my mother! I absolutely HATE this hospital. Mom has been admitted there before and the night nurses are lazy, have bad attitudes and are inattentive. The restrooms are filthy. Only go here if there are no other options. I am going to ask the nursing home to take her to Clear Lake if there is ever an ER moment again.

Could not have been treated better. My nurses and NT's were extremely nice and helpful. Kelly and Marietta were so good!! I had DeeDee first for a really short time and she was very sweet. The NT, Raymund, was so upbeat and friendly. I had another NT that started with a M and she was super sweet and awesome. Sorry I cannot recall the name. The ones from nutrition were exceptional. They worried about my not eating so much. Patsy from housekeeping was very professional and sweet.
I also had the privilege of meeting Dee Dee, the supervisor. She spent a lot of time talking with me about concerns I had when my mother was on the 2nd floor in February.
Overall, had a good stay.

Leticia Morris, Charge Nurse, 3rd Floor, Extension *85089, Mainland Hospital...completely worthless. Holds patients as prisoners in rooms. Anyone who passes the nurses station she mugs them. I watched her chase off a 7 year old girl who came to visit her father. The little girl had not seen her Dad in almost a week. She left crying as Ms. Morris ordered her out of the hospital @ 2am with her mother. Ms. Charge Nurse did as she had done all week long. Sit in an office chair swaying back and forth. It wouldn't hurt for her to look into communicating with her patients and visitors better. I cannot believe that Clear Lake Regional invested in Mainland Medical Center. They really have their work cut out for them. The day crew is absolutely amazing. However the night crew is ruining it.

Courtney the 4th floor charge nurse was just truly awesome. Her and her crew are excellent people to have care for you. I would appreciate it if you would pass this on to her. tell her thank you very much from Bones

Everyone is right here. It only takes several bad or rude nurses that can poison a hospitals reputation.My mother is there now and I encountered a nasty nurse yesterday and she was also nasty to my mother who is 77 years old. I stopped it right then and there and went to an administrator. I told them they have no right to let these nurses abuse the elderly or family members.On top of that you HAVE to be your OWN patient advocates! In 2009 I had a biopsy done by Dolly warrens's D'Feet Breast cancer for people who could no afford the mammograms.They sent the labs to Mainland and I went back to dfeet a week later and everyone was like happy. Hey so no news is is good news, right? Wrong! I asked about the results and they went to get them and could not locate them because Mainland Never send the results back. So they contacted Mainland and we waited a half hour before the results came in. I had Stage Three Positive Herp two Breast cancer! I got into MD Anderson right away and had to under go Months of chemotherapy and weeks of radiationand had to go a year with Herceptin. NOW do you see what I mean about having to stay on top of people? MD Andersons said I would of died had I thought everything was fine. Yes Mainland would of killed me because someone was too damn lazy to fax the results. Watch over your loved ones and your self and put a sharp stop to it right away. Theres many things you cando. Call the state or sometimes the state is too slow you can Call or write your County Congressmann(Representative) and tell them whats happening and you need their help. I promise they will get done what you need done, thats what they are there for. You do not have to put up with this abuse ESPECIALLY when it comes to life and death.To find your representative you can just google up their name in your county to find out who they are. Good luck and hopefully Mainland Medical can get rid of the rotton apples and bring their rateings up!

Husband was in to have fluid removed from his stomach . The er doctor and nurse were great. Move him to a room on 2 nd floor for over night the nurses were good . Ask internal doctor to have someone from billing to help us get on medicaid a Africa American lady came in our room ask us if we had insurance we told her no husband is SSI disability but can t get Medicare until next year. She ask how we could pay I told to send a bill she then ask you if we could pay a deposit of 500 dollars. Told her no if we could we would. So ever since my husband insurance got taking from him from his work your hospital billing department doesn t seem to want to help people. As long as he had good insurance everyone was ok with your hospital. So we have decided to go to Galveston. The lady that came in our room already made her mind up she didn t have time for us.

The entire staff was very helpful, friendly and kept me informed about all they were doing. The environment was professional and took all the time I needed.

I checked in the er on 2/09/2018. My complaints were as follows. Coughing for over a month with green mucus, fatigue extreme spleen pain, and depression. After staying and talking to multiple staff witch were very kind and helpful, i was put on lexapro and ativan. This also included vitamins and such. Right before being released I was going to be changed to celexa. Now after all that i got 2 prescriptions one for potassium and 1 for gerd. After patiently calling after i got home to find out why i had gotten two nonsense prescriptions, they took my number and said they would call back and nothing. Day number 2 home, first thing in the morning i get my attending md number left a message and nothing.Call the hospital more runaround take my number waited all night again no call back no explanations. This morning day three home, called first thing in the morning i'm really mad and irritated so I asked to talked to a administrator of course took my number no explanation no nothing except the police at my door asking if i'm suicidal!!!!!

Absolutely pitiful. I'm a C5, C6 quadriplegic (transferred here for my wounds - Left, right hip, sacral & ischium) that has had to voice my concerns enough that I've finally ben isolated to a room w surveillance, no visitors allowed, every staff member comes in with a witness and then they get mad when I turn on voice record because I've got no witnesses but I will not be shaken by their actions.

They traced THC in my urine so they searched my room, bags & all belongings. I was issued a citation... from Texas City PD. Mainland hospital is a Comedy Club, no medical treatment facility. This place has more CNA's/Nurse Tech's on facebook in rooms instead of doing a simple job, HELPING INNOCENT PEOPLE. Taking their own breaks in empty rooms. Night shift never coming around unless it's time to do vitals and administrator on staff said & I quote, "I'm busy with something else right now, can I get to you later?" She wouldn't take my number, agree to come to my room or listen to resolve any issues. It wasn't Pricilla, but never got her name becauae I was so frustrated (Aimee, fat, lazy charge nurse came in with a witness& I flipped. What am I? Am I a fugitive? I'm a quadriplegic that's being treated like absolute Garbage.)

On the night of February 11, 2017 I was left laying sound asleep on my right side from 8pm to 8am and was extremely detrimental to my healing process. Among many other issues such as KaeDian, Nursing Director, wouldn't even listen to my concerns & complaints, on 2 different occasions. The charge nurses, Quinterra and Aimee, do not take in any concerns, requests or complaints either. Terra, a CNA was constantly on facebook as she was trying to help me eat then terminated the following day, thankfully. on 4 occasions I've had someone at nightshift (who wasn't lazy) get cleaned thoroughly & wiped left feces from between my legs.

Extremely lazy staff, Horrible quality of care & keep no HIPPA violation stays in place. Extremely sad to say they've qualified me for discharge; now costing me $16k daily but I'm still waiting for my medical equipment to be delivered to my home and that is the ONLY REASON I'm still here. The moment I am ready to go, I will open my leg bag & piss on them on my way out. That's how disrespected and humiliated I feel.)

Be smart, go towards Clear Lake or UTMB & save yourself the headache

I want to make sure I post this review on everything I possibly can to save people the waste of time of being a patient at this hospital I brought my girlfriend to this hospital last night and have had nothing but terrible experiences since from the sarcastic rude nurse we had in the E.R that automatically asumes every patient asking for pain meds is a druggie These people at this hospital are doing nothing I couldn't be doing myself at home but giving her meds I am literally searching for blankets to wrap her bed with so she doesnt hurt her self when having a seizure and they wanna go off on me when she's choking on a blanket because I tried to pull it out of her breathing space and tell me that's why it's there I said that's right because I put them there your nurses have just walked out doing nothing

The doctors are horrible, very unprofessional,rude ! The rude doctor came in and didnt care what i had to say ! I wouldn't recommend anyone to go there. Left there and went to Affinity Urgent Care, there I was treated with respect, got the right treatment, The Doctor was very very professional, kind

Excellent service..very friendly and fast.. got me inside a room in less than 1 minute..wow.and the nurse Heather..wonderful and the Dr. Tarek Koussayer excellent. Highly recommend

My mother Sarah Linscomb 101 years old was a patient there from January 1 until January 12 2021. I found the care very good. The one problem that I have is not being able to visit at least once. Also because of that her personal belongings were misplaced along with her social security medicare and medicaid cards .

my son got a huge rash while i was at work, i work 16 hour shifts and we only have 1 vehicle since were not locals and dont travel with 2 trucks. make long story short i told my wife to have my son ready so we dont lose time getting ready & stuff/ i need sleep eat ect, we get to the hospital my son gets 3 shots gets meds prescribed & all in less than 30 minutes & great staff very friendly ... excuse my grammar typing off my mobile phone ...

The care from the hospital saved my life!From the moment they got me off my car to the last day I got discharged.I can honestly say all the staff every single one of the staff took excellent care of me. I thought I was going to die Covid took everything in me but the team of the hospital worked on me by the hour and brought me back to health I m truly grateful to each and every one of them I will and have kept them in my prayers.

I was admitted for COVID pneumonia for 5 days of treatment. The staff was amazing and very knowledgeable. I am forever grateful to them for my recovery.

Terrible hospital. I was there for Fornier's gangrene. I had two surgeries in a week. I almost died from infection. The day after my second surgery, they attempted to discharge me. Keep in mind, I had just had two surgeries done on my groin, I was on 24 hour treatment of antibiotics, and I could not move. The infection wasn't even gone yet.

My surgeon told me that I could die if I left and to refuse if they tried to force me. So I did. The doctor trying to send me home was apparently my primary, who had never once come to see me and who I had never met.

It was a miserable experience. The nurses are horrible. I'd hear them talking about me right outside my door, saying negative things.

When I did get released, they wrote the wrong date on my prescriptions, and I couldn't get them filled. I had just had two surgeries, and I couldn't even get the medicine I needed. I called them repeatedly, no one ever helped or called back to fix their mistake.

I can go on and on and on. The point is, they don't care about you here. Go somewhere else.

Rudest and most uncaring staff I ve ever had the misfortune of dealing with. If you ever wake up at this hospital and have the means to leave... seek treatment elsewhere as soon as you can.

My Aunt is the in the ICU. The nurse was very informative when asked about the medications my Aunt is being administered. Also, her neurological functions. She had been bathed and look well cared for. I was concerned considering she's on the ventilator. Praying for a full recovery. Thank you Mainland Medical Center,

Rude people bad attitudes UGH wth you go to school for if you don't like your job?! That was dumb

Had an elderly friend fall on Saturday morning. Broken arm on one side, deep cuts and bruises to the other arm. We went into Mainland Medical ER to get treatment. EVERYTHING went great, from the minute we stepped into the ER to the minute we left. ALL the doctors, nurses and technical staff were very attentive, professional and considerate. Service was very fast. Got wounds tended to in triage, X-Rays taken, X-Rays evaluated and prognosis and prescriptions provided in record time. All in all a very positive experience at Mainland Medical Center.
