Macy's Review

The Macy's flagship store on 34th Street offers the biggest selection of any Macy's in the US. There is floor after floor of endless shopping. The prices are great as they offer alot of sales and coupons. This location has shop in shop of alot of nice brand so if you are looking for name brands they have that as well.

Crowded, understaffed. I went to try something on and even though the was 8 changing rooms all but one were locked out. So waited forever to try on a shirt and not once did anyone offer to help me find anything, and then when I went to check out, most registers were closed so lines to check out. I ended up leaving my shirt as it was just too much trouble. I did go by the fragrance dept which was very attentive, I ended up getting a bottle of cologne. Good selection but just too much waiting overall..

What can I say about Macy's? 1st time in the US so 1st time in the store. Very cheerful and helpful staff. So much merchandise.

What a store.so many floors..I loved the old esulators. Real wood..Don't see that anymore.

Despite the tourists and Christmas shopping crowds, staff was patient and friendly. Enjoyed the experience.

Don't hate Macy's found lovely undergarments there and you staff is wonderful a lady name "JEAN" on the 7th floor helped me out a lot she was caring and giving

This place is like dream come true for shoppers. But the floors were so confusing for a first timer. Wish the floors were planned in a better manner .

Unlike smaller cities the New York flagship store is amazing.

While in NYC, especially during Christmas time, it is a must to visit the Macy's store.

The decorations within the store were very nice.

It is a large store. We walked the lower level, main and second floor. We bought shoes as the selection surpassed our local Macy's.

Afterward we went to Hard Square for some street food snacks.

I went to Macy s 9/14/18, I arrived around 8:30pm, made my way to the 5th floor to purchase three Men s Suits. I looked around, while the Macy s salesman (his name was Gregory, or something like that, hard to read his name tag) was finishing up with another customer at the register.
I pulled out 3 suits from the rack and continued to look around, . after that customer left, I asked if the salesman would like me in the fitting room. He almost seemed annoyed but he did. He never even said anything to me. I went into the fitting room and tried on the suites, the first one I had was too large, I needed a smaller size. I exited the fitting room wearing the big suit, in my sock-feet to browse the racks for a smaller size again the salesman NEVER asked me if he could help. He was not with another customer, he was walking around arranging suite on the racks.
I could not find the correct size, so tried on a different designer brand. The jacket fit, but not the pants .at this point I was so flustered, I decided to leave. I could not get any help and NO other customers there.
As I came out of the fitting room with all 4 suits to hang, I made eye contact with the salesman, and he sprinted over to help a young guy with a shirt! So, it wasn t him, he just didn t want to help me!!
I returned the suits to the rack and walked toward the elevators. I noticed another salesman at the cash register across the aisle. I decided that I would stop and see how much money I had on a Macy s gift card (that was the only reason I chose to go there). I handed him the card to check, he scanned it. He then looked at me and said, you need to scratch off the box on the back for the pin number.
I tried with my fingernail to scratch off the card, with no success. I asked if he had something to scratch the card with, he shrugged his shoulders and said NO.
What?? Am I in the twilight zone?? A custom over herd the conversation and offered me her keys to scratch off the card. He then scanned the card and told me it had $200.00 on it. The lady that allowed me to borrow her keys said, happy shopping , I said I don t think so, I have been in here for over an hour and no one will help me.
She looked at the man who just scanned my card, and NOT one word from him. I walked to the elevator and exited the store at near 10pm.

The world famous department store. If you like shopping you will love Macy's.

Went to Santa land. The kids and I had an awesome experience.

There building a 700,000 sq.ft. Commercial facility in Queens 100% non-union stealing and hurting the community. I will never shop at Macy s again.

I will never shop at Macys again. When I was homeless I save my money and purchase a Coach bags,. I know why would a homeless woman buy a Coach bag. I had one before and I was reliving my yesteryears. Anyway after carry the bag for a while it began to fall apart the straps becoming undone. So I went back to Macys , and was given a new bag, due to the fact they didn't have the same style in Black, a color I only wear, I pay additional $20.00 on top of the original price of $275.00
. So I left Macys with another new Coach bag. Ok time passes by and this bags begins to unravel too. I go back to Macys again for another Coach bag....Once again leave with a new Coach ..now this was in July 2018... Do you know this third bag unravel too and these Macys would not give me another new bag.. They wouldn't even take for repairs, telling me I have to take it to the Coach repair store myself.......I WILL NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM MACYS EVER AGAIN AND I WILL NOT BUY ANY MORE COACH BAGS EITHER... MACYS HAVE NOT ONE DROP OF CHARACTER ANYMORE

The premier Macy lication high end clothes but great sales and bargins all over the stire

A very warm place to go shopping. We had salesman name Larry, who s an elderly gentleman, but he was one of the best salesman I ve ever met! He was really caring and tried his best to organise the right sice for my suit. 4 days after, I ve got a call, your suite is here. Excellent. Great prices!
- one star because they have a bonus system per sale and another salesman tried to scam Larry off by insisting to pay at his cash register.

Over all a great place, and rhanks again Larry, I hope that they appreciate you!

Great Christmas decorations through out store and great sale items.

May I say, that for a plus size figure, the woman department has gorgeous clothe lines. The shoe department and any accessories is to go nuts. Enjoy and thanks.

A wonderful store that has it all from clothing to housewares to Knick knacks. Multi-floors to shop on, but pay attention to where you enter Macy s or yo may go out a different exit that will get you all turned around and confused. Check out the window displays they are awesome!

I didn t go to the actual store but I have to say ordering from the 34th Street online department over the phone was a lovely experience. The man who answered the phone took so much time to make sure my order was perfect. Best over the phone order in a lone time!

this particular macy's is AMAZING. Probably my favorite store in the whole wide world- and I work across the street from it!. There's nothing you can't find, it's always neatly organized, there's always someone available if you need help.

The range and variety of items at Macy's is exceptional. However the staff and customer service are absolutely appalling. In my experience the staff were unable or unwilling to assist me outside their assisgned brand department (literally meters from where they were standing), which caused me to miss purchasing the last of a garment that I wanted because I had to return the next day to ask someone from that brand.

The staff have also been extremely rude to me and my family. My sister wanted to try on a dress for her senior prom and was yelled at to wait in line by 2 staff members who were sitting on the ground on their phones in the fitting room area. My sister's boyfriend and my father were trying on suits one evening and the staff couldn't divide their attention to help them without getting distracted talking to one another outside the fitting rooms.

I understand that working in retail is frustrating and boring, I did it for 5 years whilst in school. This does not excuse the experience I have had at Macy's. The staff might not get tipped, but that doesn't matter. They work in a customer service role and the customer should ALWAYS be the priority, especially at such a reputable store. The lack thereof is extremely disappointing.

A great store with a wide range of shops inside. Very friendly security guards, and shop staff.

I cannot go in to Macy's anymore because the heavy heavy odors of scents and perfumes on first floor prevents me from walking thru the 1st floor to get to other floors. Why can't Macy's stop the perfume spraying on 1st floor or make a separate entrance for those of us with allergies?

Still one of the best shopping experience. Love this place.

Store is for show not customers. A big joke of a store.

This is a great place to shop normally, during the rest of the year. But around the holidays, it's a MUST SEE! The window decorations are always incredible, delighting both old and young. Then, walking into the store itself, almost takes your breath away. It is decorated beautifully, and the store is bustling with energy and excitement. If you have kids, or are a kid at heart, head up to the 8th floor and see Santa. Then go to the 9th floor for 'Holiday Land'. Here you can find all kinds of decorations and holiday items.

If you go to the basement, you can find all kinds of housewares. Many of the items are on sale and you can get some great deals!

I love shopping here. It's that simple. They literally have everything you could thing of: men and women clothing, home shopping, restaurants in the Macy's building, and a bunch of other stuff.

This is a must-go place.

Macy's employees laughed at me behind my back at their flagship store in Dec 2016. My father and I were looking for men's shoes dept. This one gentleman in a black blazer and dress shoes pointed me to a corridor and up an escalator to some floor. He and other well dressed employees with their name badges still clipped to their jackets were in a circle. Each one was silent and looking at me.In my cheerie arritude I thanked the man. I turn and here a long quiet pause. I step two feet away and hear a booming cackle behind me. I understand that New Yorkers might not like the boys like me from upstate, but that was tasteless. Never buying Macy's again.

It was very very busy and crowded, so the experience was not the greatest eventhough I do like Macy's.

But Century 21 in Tribeca / WTC Cortland Stop on the 1 Train sells the exact same items for 65% and some very highest end items that Macy's doesn't sell. Although both Macy's & Century 21 sell items from the same highest end name brands, Macy's sells alot of Very High End items you canNOT just get at Century 21 either. Macy's has much more of alot of items that Century 21 does not offer & but VICE VERSA!! So you gave to vista both places.

If there's one bad thing about this place, it would be how big this place is. You must either come here with a goal or for wandering around and checking out the clothes or products. The choices and variety is amazing and caters to every style.

The staff in Mace's were brilliant we had our photo taken with the team on the tissott watch counter and watched 2 of the team dancing in the aisle around the makeup counters this was the best store we visited. Unfortunately the staff were the few friendly New Yorkers we came across.it was a pleasure being in the store

After Saks 5th it s one of the best place to shop in NYC! Get your coffee from Starbucks in the mezzanine and dive into shopping!

A big store that offers practically all that you can imagine.

The ICON of NYC retail. Fun store to visit and explore. High quality merch and often has excellent sales. Variety of food choices inside the store as well. Staff is about 60/40, friendly/not at all friendly. If you are visiting NYC, plan at least a couple hours here.

The Macy's Flagship store is a magical experience with so much to explore. The store is so large that it will take at least 2-3 days to cover the square footage.

I love getting their breakfast special in the morning, which Mangu, salami, fried cheese. Delicious. However, the only problem is that it gets extremely packed and people want to skip the line. Last time I went there it was just me and a lady waiting on line and this girl ran up to the front to skip the line.

I liked Macy's because there are lots of options, and very nice things, some at good prices.

A most go to at Christmas. Don't just go for the window displays. Go inside and enjoy the decorations and history of the place.

Beautiful department stores. There are many expensive and non-expensive brands and also has an outlet corner. You can also buy souvenirs. At Christmas the top floor is completely dedicated to the party with every kind of decoration, it seems to enter the village of Santa Claus. A joy for young and old.

Macy was and is always great each and every time I have gone for the past 50yrs!!!
