Macy's Review

Needed a coat. Found a coat. And on sale! Plus, the upper level escalator s are wooden and the banisters are wooden. Look original. Felt the ghosts of Miracle on 34th St. Wonderful to see.

The most amazing store, multiple levels of retail space with all the brands and more.

The store is amongst the oldest and some of the escalators are still wooden (yup worth a look even if you don't plan to buy).

The store is easily divided into many sections and easy to find anything you need.

In December the store is packed with tourists and the window displays are spectacular, well worth the visit.

This Macy's has HUGE selection. The clearance shoe section is not that great but maybe because it was holiday season and the sizes ran out quickly. But otherwise it's awesome. Soooo much to see.

You cannot miss Macy's. Even if you don't want to buy ..must visit this store !!!

Furniture Dept on 9th floor has quality selection at fair prices, very helpful staff

As the worlds biggest department store, definitely *Not* a place to get lost. But this place sparkled with a million jewels, and I've never seen so many foreign fashionistas in one place. I've also never see such a big price tag on a coffee pot or a chocolate bar, so unless your ready to part with your credit cards and empty pockets, I would recommend shopping at other Macy's in the city for lower prices. All in All, this place is massive, and it deserves a visit if you're in NY. Knowing Macy's, you won't be disappointed.

Crowded, as you should expect. Lively. Had a sales rep who was speaking in a foreign language (Russian?) on her mobile phone and reluctant to help. She hesitated, but kept the phone on her ear as my wife urged her to give help with evening wear. Should know better.

Big Macy's store although some of the departments resemble more of a jumble sale than a shop.

This store is massive and I got lost in it - there's so many different departments and there's even restaurants inside too! It's definitely more of a tourist attraction - I would recommend that locals go to a different location if they can.

While Macy's has excellent sales and they have a huge selection at this location I have encountered some extremely rude people while trying to place orders over the phone. At Burberry specifically. That's not how sales people should be treating their good customers. I've been an avid shopper with Macy's for years.

You can spend a full day here and still haven't seen it all. You can find all big brands here and with Thanksgiving and Christmas there are special activities for kids and sales for all. Definitely visit this!

You can find all the big brand names here, including Louis Vuitton and Rolex, but expect high prices, too. We were looking for sunglasses, and there was one stand only.

Such a spectacular place and such wonderful history. Macy's is my go to for pretty much everything. I recently got some beautiful bedroom lamps there.

This store offers a variety of products at premium prices. Pretty clean, staff helpful, price scanners in most parts of the stores to check prices.

Generally crowded, as always. More than enough sales associates willing to help you. A good variety of product. Is a one stop shop place.

It is a place that some people love, finding basically everything in one location, I am a different type of shopper...don't get me wrong it is an amazing store, it is just not my favorite store, I like to walk into a Banana Republic for example more than a department store.

This is my favorite Macy's store. The Herald Square location makes it easy to access and the sheer size of it means you can shop for hours. I bought my two-piece Bar III suit here which is exclusive to Macy's and couldn't be more pleased. The total came out to around $200 which provided amazing value. I was greeted warmly by the salesman on the 4th floor and he helped me pick out a suit and was very helpful overall.

The only downside is that if you want a certain discount you have to come back the next day to pick up your purchase. They hold your item for you and give you a ticket with which you can come back to retrieve your item.

The store itself has some unique decor that has made Macy's one of the landmark New York City stores. The wooden escalators are a distinct feature that will grab your attention. I remember a Midwestern friend of mine being hesitant to ride up thinking it wasn't safe but I reassured her that it was and I've gone on it all the time. They have a very nice cafeteria to grab a meal in after you've done shopping and their pizza has always been delicious. The cellar has some handy kitchen items you can use at home and their products have always been of the highest quality.

Very organized, big and friendly service; plus deals just for having a Macys card.

Very nice department store. You could literally buy everything In here. Food, desserts, coffee, home, clothes, furniture, etc. All sorts of price ranges and brand ranges. You even buy a cellphone here perfume jewelry

Great store but staff in mens Levi's section who completed my exchange was very unfriendly to the point of being rude

A good place for all the high end brands but not definitely for anyone on a budget. A good shopping experience. Easily accessible inside the city. The sore closes late 10 pm. Definitely a place to check out

Crazyness, specially during December.. lots of people, long waiting lines, good but slow service, madness.. but if you want to go to a place where you literally find everything, Macy's is where you should be.

I'm surprised to see The Men's restrooms queue is longer than Bryant Park's public restrooms. That's on a Sunday when the mall is sparse.
Only 3 for the whole building. And 1 of them on LL non functional for a while....

No wonder they don't know how to please customers. Glad Amazon is helping customers avoid a trip to these places....

Btw......IT STINKS BAD

I do not like this Macys at all they don't have a big selection for toddler boys, could not find my son a nice suit in here let alone anything else. All the foreigner employees who speak lick of english walk around with attitudes and they nose in their ass instead of assisting customers. I shop in Jersey and I love it people are very pleasant and helpful never give attitude.

Its not like years ago. It looks very modern now. I feel like its geared towards tourists and not your regular customer.

Super. Super, super!!! Someone say sales. Best Macy's in the country. Staff are so polite, store is clean. Busy, live and energetic. This is an "out of this world" shopping experience. My expectations weren't very high and I was positively surprised. Very good discounts in the lingerie section. The old escalators are cool to see!

Best shopping center in NYC. Restrooms are very few so it is inconvenient. Shops and service is really good.

Apparently, brick and mortar stores are a'dyin. Well, this Macy's location is historic. It's exciting to even walk by. We went to Godiva here, and the customer service was impeccable. I hope it manages to stay in business.

It is like a shopping heaven. In the worlds largest department store, that fills a block of Manhattan, there is enough here to more than fill a day. The model for all good department stores with space to browse, helpful staff and, thankfully, good signage to get from place to place. Sales items are genuine and you can rack up some amazing bargains. New York visits almost require a trip here!

Great deals (50% nearly everything I bought) and helpful employees in the shoe department. Would have given it 5 stars but it was hard to find help when I was looking for dress shirts. Also very crowded with tourists.

Love going to macys, but i was a bit disappointed on this last visit, i went 2 weeks ago looking for a poloshirt i seen online, they didnt have it, so i picked up to different teeshirts, then i went home ordered the shirt on the web site, 1 week later i get the wrong shirt, i bring it back to the store, i go upstairs to the polo store, ask an employee about the shirt, then he looked in the back of the store, and came out to me, and told me the shirt, was a mistake, but yet its still on the web site. So sad..macys needs to fix this asap..
