Went to this facility with my friend as a guest. Went to two classes and both the instructors were great. The people using the classes were so into their own work out it made you feel comfortable. The amenities are great also! Will be joining this winter.

Disgusting facility. Way too much traffic for how big this facility is. This means it's always dirty, complaints are unabated, and peak times mean you'll wait for services. The agents use boilerroom tactics to guilt people

I really enjoy this club, great staff, hard working facility people who keep up with the heavy use of the locker room, shower area. Some great yoga classes, particularly with Jill Z. Thank you!

Through many experiences, I would NOT SUGGEST THIS COMPANY. Multiple things stolen, the staff can be snotty, and the general manager of this location is inconsiderate. Overpriced as well.

Customer service and training is lacking severely. I travel and frequently use lifetimes outside of my local area. Upon check I was informed my level of membership was not high enough to use the facility. It was said in a rude and embarrassing manner After realizing I was not a local member I was told to have a good workout. Experience was bad enough I would never recommend this club to anyone

I love their childcare (their employees running it are consistently fantastic) and many of their classes, but the parking and class overflow issues are killing me. I've got 3 kids and a full-time job. What I don't have is an extra 20-40 minutes to park my car prior to a workout. They clearly value # of members vs the quality of the member experience. There is almost never enough parking (or class space) and I've spent post-work evenings endlessly circling the ramp and lot before finally giving up and going home without a workout. It's really hard to justify the high cost of the membership for my family.

Edited to say that cancellation and modifications to membership are consistently long and confusing processes. We have a nanny membership on our account and every time we change nannies and have to amend the membership it takes weeks. Weeks! And we get very little in writing and different answers from the staff re: what's included. Our nanny has been stopped at the door more than once because they're confused about what her membership includes. It's frustrating. Again, stellar classes (yoga and pilates are amazing and I would follow Leslie and her dance jam anywhere) and solid equipment but such huge misses when it comes to overcrowding and the member experience.

It s a top tier facility and experience, however it remains highly over priced compared to others in the market. Been a member 10 years and it s tiresome how often my costs have been increased. This is also the busiest gym I have ever seen, parking is a nightmare (nor can people park between the lines) though fortunately higher income area and venue does mean nicer cars and less likely door dings. Steam rooms are super bright, shower temps vary by the stall, and hot tub rarely hot. Stair masters are awesome. Cardio equipment could use a 2019 Bluetooth or other connection ability versus the 2004 iPhone connector.

LT is the best fitness and health club around. Staff is friendly, the golf simulators are upgraded this year, the tennis courts and pool are superior to any other club. This club has it all. It s not just a place to work out. Like all clubs, it s busier after work so expect that.

LifeTime claims that they have a steam room and a sauna, and that is part of the reason they charge so much for their membership. Little did I know, they actually don't even have any steam rooms or saunas available, They are lying about the amenities they offer, but still charging as if they have them. It's a total scam.

I've always had a great experience with this company, been a member for 6 or so years. This facility is great. I take advantage of the group fitness and self directed exercise options like weights and other machines. Has locker rooms with fantastic amenities (sauna, steam room, showers with soap and shaving cream if needed). Life cafe is nice when I need to get a meal or treat myself to a post workout smoothie. It can get busy right after new years resolutions but now in mid March things aren't as crazy. Worth the cost for me, especially since lifetime participates in my health insurance so when I go at least 12x/mo it's $20 off the monthly fee. I'd recommend it to everyone. The salon/spa is also very high quality.

Had a great time at the golf simulators. They have a nice, big space and the simulator bays are new and clean. Ton of courses to choose from and the simulators give great feedback on your swing. Staff is friendly and helpful, just the way I had expected them to be. Even offered to grab beers for us while we were playing. If there was one thing they could change, it would be to have the food and beverage within the simulator space so we wouldn't have to walk out to the cafe. Highly recommend this golf simulator facility.

A year ago I would have given 4-5 stars. Now only one... very dirty locker room, nasties on the floor, dirty showers, lack of clean towels... broken fixtures, etc...

Lifetime needs to drop the level of this club down a couple grades or bring it back up to where it was a year or two ago.

It's about as skuzzy as an LA Fitness at this point, but at a much higher cost.

Update (July 2020): the management made minor cosmetic improvements, and upgraded level to diamond. Not a diamond worthy club in my opinion.

When I first obtained a membership at this location it was fully staffed and cleanliness was feasible. As of recently the locker rooms are not cleaned, secure, and fully stocked with towels etc... Working in management I wanted to be considerate of all variables however, there has been no improvement whatsoever. Tonight (9/14/19) Bo was the only employee servicing the facility in Operations. This is not only unfair to Bo as he is being set up to fail but, unfair to us members by cutting back service. Recently Lifetime raised their membership prices which I thought was going to solve the issue by providing more capital. I am extremely disappointed in upper management as this should not be occurring at all, especially after raising prices. I would appreciate it if someone could look into this address the issue and recognize Bo's hard work.

I love the yoga studio at this location. Great Instructors, especially Jason and Lindsey. I recently moved out of state and I was so sad when I had to cancel my membership, it has been hard finding a gym and even a yoga studio that measure up. Life Time come to Milwaukee!

I was a member of this club when it was still a Northwest Athletic Club and I think it is now a better place than it ever was in its Northwest days. Free towels, free secure lockers, great group fitness offerings and instructors (Katie, Marybeth, Molly, Bill, Heather and more!), wonderful places to hangout and work online or just chill, direct access to the Greenway and city lakes and they are even renovating their four squash courts! Yes, the parking can still be a drag at times, even with the new ramp, but that is a result of the incredible central location and the quality of the facilities, not the Lifetime organization. The constant corporate branding from the Lifetime system could also be dialed down a number of notches. However, nothing is without some flaws and in my opinion this location has very few. It is a great club and community and my family loves being members of it!

It's really hard to justify spending 100+ dollars a month on a gym membership you can't use because you can't park your car. The facility is also way to crowded at peak hours. Just go to LA fitness.

Used to be better. I spent 24 minutes in the parking ramp alone due to no spots and traffic jammed in. Once I finally got out of the ramp I landed my spot on a snowbank after driving around an additional 10 minutes and waiting for the previous guy on the snowbank to leave. The lot sign still said open vs full or I wouldn t have even entered. The club used to be cleaner with better maintained equipment but the staff are great and if you don t go between 5 and 7 in the morning 3 and 7 in the afternoon it s not so bad. I m happy to see people working out and getting fit but at what point is it time to expand the club or open another one close by. The classes are packed... too packed.. which in a sense is great! but overpacked is not conducive to the exercises being performed. I still go here because it s convenient and I love the amenities and options (during off peak hours)

It may be an onyx club, BUT: the open floor plan in the free weight and cardio area made you unintentionally stare at others and likewise, the women's steam room is tiny even compared to the lakeville gold club, and the towels are slightly longer, and just barely cover your bottom (I am five feet four inches).

There is a hot tub in the women's locker room and a few extra toiletries (shaving cream, disposable razors, Watkins body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and hand lotion, as well as mystery brand hairspray), however depending on what toiletries you bring yourself these items are a nuisance.

I played a round of golf at the simulator and had an excellent time! It has been a long winter, so having the ability to swing the club indoors at a great, convenient facility makes winter much more bare-able. I will be coming back to play more golf here.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Save yourself hundreds (maybe thousands) of dollars. First, they don't understand that people have jobs. Why am I offered "free" nutrition appointments by Breanne Johnson, with times only during working hours? They want convenience for their staff and that's it. Second, they will put up a nice image at first just to throw all this marketing at you and get you for even hundreds of MORE dollars. Next, Matt Johnson doesn't follow up with any requests to find out more about the basketball hoops league. I tried with no success to get ANY information about a league which costs... yes... nearly a hundred dollars. (management confirmed with me that everyone dropped the ball in my case) Finally, the General Manager Kerry Sutherland is concerned with my request only when it comes to the point of me wanting to cancel my membership. I echo previous reviews that say it's incredibly difficult or perhaps a brick wall when it comes to trying to cancel a membership without getting charged hundreds of more dollars before you can even be free of Lifetime's corporate grip. (I was even offered a temporary free membership when I let them know I was going to express my opinion publicly) I turned it down. Lifetime Fitness, thank you for only following up and being concerned only when I want to stop paying. Last, Anthony is the only employee I've dealt with that has a great understanding of customer service and Lifetime would do themselves a favor by hiring more people like him.

I've been a member at this club for over 6 years and typically use it only for pickup basketball. We've had a fairly large group playing over the years and our open gym time consistently gets overridden by other activities. We're never notified when the courts will be closed and management doesn't do a thing when there are 30 people playing basketball and 2 kids playing on one of the courts. I'm literally paying $20 per time to use the club and am not sure if it's worth it at this point.

I am currently a member, and have gone on and off as a member for a while. I do like lifetime a lot.
PROS:
The pools indoor and outdoor are great
Weight machines
It is very close to my house
The gyms are nice for a game of basketball
the cafe is great for a healthy snack
Lots of bikes, I can always get on one

CONS:
Parking sucks, hard to find a spot
Fee for children, my kids rarely go to the gym, so the price per visit for kids is extremely high!

5 stars for Gabrielle s AMP cycle class - the energy is unreal! Thing to note is that this club is ALWAYS busy. No matter what time you go. Finding parking is often difficult. Clean and expansive club.

There is a young lady named Olivia who works the front desk and always says "Thank you, Tess" when I scan my membership card upon arrival. I know it seems minor, but having someone repeat your name goes a long way (everyone likes hearing their name)! She also always thanks you and wishes you a good night when you walk out the door. I look forward to her positive smiling face every night when I walk in!

I've also had a very positive experience with personal trainer, Stacie. She has done an excellent job assessing areas where I need to be careful when exercising and is helping me feel stronger and leaner with the routines we've gone through.

Overall, the members are friendly and there is not a "meat head" vibe like other gyms. I don't feel intimidated walking in to do my workout routine which I've experienced in the past. I'd definitely recommend Life Time to someone.

I am a member at LT Fitness St. Louis Park. I regularly go for the group yoga classes. I wanted to write a kudos to Lindsay B. who is a yoga instructor. She is awesome. I like her teaching style, the positivism and good energy she brings to the class and I like how she gently guides each one of us individually to push ourselves. The best part is when she cools us down at the end of a heated class by waving a blanket or towel. She is the best!

I love this location.. with great instructors..Holly & Molly, and one more instructor i dont recall her name, she teaches yoga too.But wonderful intructors...love this location now with new parking ramp makes it bonus..

Cons:

Cons:
Horrible customer service, overpriced, and difficult to cancel.
Same amenities at their lower level clubs.
Have had shoes stolen and members of the opposite sex stroll through the locker rooms with no follow up by management. When you tell them you are looking to start a membership they are very quick to assist you, tell them you want to cancel and everyone is "busy".

Pros:
Morning classes are good.

My husband and I frequent this gym. Unfortunately I have to downgrade them from a 4 star to a 1 star.... let me explain.

The best parts of the gym are the ladies at the front that greet you by name, and the trainers that are very knowledgeable and provide great service.

However, if you go to this gym at almost any time of day, it is quite busy. During rush times it is so busy that it is impossible to get in a comfortable and safe workout. The free weight area is so incredibly crowded that I genuinely have safety concerns.

I am harshly reviewing lifetime because they are constantly making renovations, additions and improvements to the gym, but all of them are in hopes to garner more revenue. New alpha studio, new Pilates studio etc. They are doing nothing to satisfy their commitment to provide a safer more comfortable environment to their existing paying membership that want to workout in general areas that are included with basic membership. It is beyond its capacity, and instead of increasing capacity in the areas where it s needed (open your eyes executives and walk through the gym at just about any time. There are not crowds in the alpha studio, there aren t people breaking down the doors to be in Pilates, people want to workout in general areas) lifetime continues to ~neglect~ them. I will bump my review back up when they begin working on this.

Ps, more equipment in the same tiny free weight area is not the answer, it is a safety hazard.

I knew I quit this gym for a reason. I made a huge mistake and came back today, almost a year after I quit, with a friend who had a guest pass for a class. We both arrived 15 minutes early and had to circle the parking lot the ENTIRE TIME to get a spot. She got a spot before me, so I told her to get started/not wait for me. I got a spot a few minutes after her, but by then the class had started. I explained this to the front desk, and explained I couldn't contact my friend (her phone was in a locker since she was in class). They were unapologetic, unaccommodating, and refused to let me settle the guest pass after class. I had been a member and my friend and I had both already used each other's guest passes previously, plus she was the one who referred me. I don't think it would have been that difficult to look her up or just ask me to leave something as collateral (phone, ID, credit card, whatever). But nope, all I got was a "that's too bad, please leave" attitude. Not to mention, when I used to be a member, the steam room was constantly broken, and the price was outrageous. Your business model, parking lot, and gym are equally terrible. Thanks for wasting my evening.

"tHiS LiFtIMe iS LiKe 4 or 5 TiMeS hIgHeR ThAn wHaT YoU HaVe" -_-. If you're going to be condescending and try to put me down for coming to take a shower with a GOLD membership at an ONYX membership club (only two steps up and nowhere near where I live) then at least do it right. Chill lady.

Came here for the indoor golf simulator initially and then joined for the health club. Have been a member at many different clubs and Life Time is by far my favorite. Great free weights, cardio and classes. Friendly staff. Nice perk is being able to go to other clubs nationwide when traveling. Food at the Life Cafe is fantastic as well.

Beautiful club, well maintained and clean. Parking can be tough during peak hours, but I've always managed to find a spot. I recently had to deal with a medical leave issue, and although it was a somewhat of a challenge, management came through in the end and made it right!! Good vibes.

Update: Cancelling my membership has proven to be very hard, and LifeTime is claiming I owe them hundreds of dollars. This is despite cancelling my membership in writing, as the membership agreement states. After multiple emails, phone calls, and frustrated hours spent pleading my case, I could not recommend this company to anyone.

At first glance this club is not that bad, but I don't think it's worth it's status as an Onyx club level. Some of the other clubs have more equipment and space. Probably my biggest gripe though with this club is it seems to attract every meathead in the area, and it's incredibly overcrowded in the evening. I rather drive the extra five minutes over to the Crosstown location.

Beautiful, well maintained, clean club. Huge windows overlook the workout floor letting in natural light. I like this club because of the location and friendly staff as well as the extra ammenities (razorz/lotion/deoderant etc. provided). The tennis program is fantastic, my daughter has really enjoyed it. The one drawback is parking during busy hours in the winter months. Overall, this is a great place to workout.

It's a very nice facility...but gets far too crowded at certain times (particularly early in the week after work, and Saturday mornings). I do appreciate that they put in a parking ramp to cure their parking issues. But there are still times when the entire lot and ramp are full.

Awesome work out facility. Lots of space and free weights which I prefer. The problem with this location is you can't park at the side parking lot or your car will have it's window broken and all your items stolen. Life Time is aware of the strong theft presence but will do nothing to help you when this does happen to you (and it will). If cops try to check camera's the staff here will not cooperate or even try to help. An apology and some life time bonuses would go a long way when something like this happens.

Love their golf simulator area. Very easy to get tee times online and the staff was very helpful. Would be nice for them to have beverages in the simulator area instead of having to travel down the hall. Very good experience overall !!

I've been a member for a little over a year and can say I still love this gym! Right away you are greeted upon arrival by the friendly staff who will also bid you a good day/night when you leave. The quality of the locker rooms and equipment are pretty well kept to given the amount of usage they see. It does get crowded at peak hours but that goes for any gym in this area and though it would seem busy when you are finding a parking spot, you can still get in your full workout in with the amount of space there is inside.
When I first became a member I really had no idea how to work out properly which led me to Chris, a personal trainer here who is AWESOME! He is able to break things down simply while giving you the confidence to do them on your own outside of the sessions. Even though I don't see him as frequently anymore I would highly recommend him if you're looking for new circuits to try out or want to work on your technique.
I would also recommend trying a few of the classes out as well, particularly cycleAMP with Matt if you've never done it before he is a great instructor to get you into the class.
Lastly I would say the Cafe is great to have on site as well, when coming to work out late and you don't want to make dinner it's nice to be able to pick something up on your way out that is going to be healthy and delicious.

Make sure you lock your stuff up and don t leave anything unattended for even a few minutes. Despite the high membership cost there are still criminals at this gym. Someone stole my training shoes while I was in the shower tonight. Who steals sweaty shoes?

I have been a member since 2006 in that time the club has gone from a premier facility to one that has lost its appeal for a number of reasons. I have had items stolen, most recently a pair of tennis shoes, equipment is often neglected, does not operate properly, catches, squeaks rattles sticks etc. currently at st. Louis Park a leg press machine (one of two) has been removed, I am assuming for repair (it squeaked and groaned like an old swingset ) it has been a number of weeks and it has not been seen since, leaving one and only one leg press machine to share among all of us members. It is overcrowded many hours of the day, parking is a problem, many of the newer members enjoy using the equipment as a place to relax and text or organize their playlists etc.....Because of these things I have set up a nice old school gym in my garage and have spent an ever increasing amount of time there rather than experience the myriad challenges associated with a trip to Lifetime. My son and his friends use the Club frequently but will soon be heading off to college at which time I will likely drop my membership. Hopefully this message catches the attention of those who can do something to improve this once excellent club to something nearer its former standard of excellence or significantly reduce your fees to reflect more accurately the value of your current offering.

I LOVE the yoga program here - Elli, Carol and Katie H. are amazing. I think they do a great job of keeping the club very clean and well-managed. The drawback is that the club seems heavily oversold on memberships - at times zero parking, lines for everything and just chaos. When it's busy, expect no hot water and everything is a process. If they could course-correct on that even a little bit, it would be so helpful.

GOLF! Went to the St Louis Park location to try out the golf simulators and they were fantastic! The layout of the simulator bays were awesome! Each one had a nice high top bar with plenty of room to enjoy drinks and a nice size putting green to practice while you wait.

One of the employees named JR provided excellent service on a very busy night. He checked in on us throughout the night to make sure our beverages were fresh. This only added to what was already a great experience.

This is a great addition for Lifetime and I can't wait to see if the add additional simulators are open at other locations in the future.

If you love golf and want to dust the clubs off for a fun round then you have to check Lifetime out!

20 year old big box gym that tries to please everyone and, in the end, no one. Large, empty spaces go unused, while others are crammed. Old machines continually go unrepaired. Virtually no showers. Filthy carpeting. This place is dated and should be bulldozed.

I tried to cancel due to too many fee increases and they forced me to pay an additional $20 on top of my monthly fee. All I wanted was a consistent payment. It's bad business to behave like this. In less than 3 years, my monthly bill had increased over $25 a month. Beware!

The facility is nice but it's hard to justify $100 a month when you may or may not be able to find a parking spot. The managers know this is a problem as there is a shuttle service. I suppose if you're making money you don't really care if people are happy.

I am not someone who enjoys working out, but I actually look forward to my visits to Lifetime each week. It's a beautiful facility with a friendly staff. I really enjoy the variety of classes offered and love the amount of water fitness classes they have to choose from. The locker rooms are great, very clean and I like that they provide soap, shampoo, deodorant, etc. Parking is sometimes tricky, but overall not a huge con. Very happy with my membership and my experience!

Horrible customer service provided when cancelling my membership. Was lied to and told that my balance could be waived if I was willing to take a 2 year suspension from re-joining, which I agreed to since the membership was an a company card. Only to find out a week later that I was being charged for the outstanding balance, ANOTHER month, PLUS additional late fees. Was offered no apology and no solution by member services for their mistake. Extreamly unprofessional.

This gym has declined slowly over time. All their focus and expansion is going in to alpha and other private classes, leaving the everyday weightlifter with increasingly overcrowded areas for freeweights and equipment. All this while steadily increasing membership fees.

Spent some time in the golf simulators recently and had a blast. Tons of courses to play, with no walking in between holes. The staff was very helpful and was more than happy to help get food/beverages from the cafeteria. However it would benefit if they had drinks and snacks available right inside the golf area. But definitely would go again!

Not very good

Not very good
1. Locker room : small lockers, line to shower , perpetually broken hot tub
2. Exercise: many classes (2 this month) which appear on website actually do not happen in the club. Nothing bears waiting for 20 min for spinning class with bunch of other ready and dressed people when teacher does not show up. Lifetime vaporware
3. Cafe: ok sandwiches. Overpriced. For example price of smoothie of the day suddenly went from 4 to 6$ ???
Avoid if you have other alternative

One of the more popular gyms in the area but this is far from being the best. If there is one thing they have figured out how to do well is nickel and dime you for everything. Even if you want to put your membership on hold, you have to pay for the privilege to do so. Unfortunate they don't hold the customer as their first priority.

While this Life Time has been updated, the woman's executive locker room is down a flight of stairs, so anyone with mobility problems can no access it, on top of that, there is no hottub in there. I feel like we are second class, though we pay more. The men have there own hot tub AND it is handicapped accessible. VERY DISSAPOINTING. Though this is the closest location to us, I don't like going here.

Overall a nice gym. My first impression was tarnished by (what I thought) was a small locker room. But it actually has multiple sections. It could have used some attention but since I have onky been once I wont knock it. The layout is confusing, I had to ask where the mens locker room was(it is upstairs). Plenty of machines( both upstairs and.down) .

I like the indoor run/walk track and field workout area.

Would go back.

LTF SLP is great. Lots of equipment and clean. I think the last couple of reviewers need to stay at home and work out as they clearly have problems with interacting in a public setting

I've been working out at Life Time Athletic in St....

I've been working out at Life Time Athletic in St. Louis Park for 5 months, and I have mixed feelings about this gym. They are clearly superior in their facility and services, however, I've realized their flaws clearly out weight their strengths.

Lifetime workout equipment is first class and the size of their facility lends itself to a variety of features. The turf area is great for free weights and calisthenics. The indoor running track is a refreshing break from the treadmill. Squash, racquetball and tennis courts provide fun ways to stay active. This would be the perfect gym, if only it served half the amount of people and toned back their greedy, inconsiderate business practices.

One would think the parking ramp would alleviate any parking concerns, but it is consistently full during prime times. Do not be surprised if you need to skip your workout because you simply cannot park your car. It's frustrating to pay for an expensive membership and not be able to use it.

The locker room is huge, and always packed. Despite being huge, unused lockers remain hard to find. Lines to the showers are common. Lines to workout equipment are also common.

Some might like the energy of a crowded gym, but there comes a point where it inhibits a good workout.

The straw that broke my camels back and prompted me to write this review was my experience today. There are white out condition outside, but I had scheduled a PT sessions that I didn't want to miss. I arrive at the gym and I'm told that my trained couldn't make it in today. Completely understandable, but they apparently don't find it important to notify their clients. I then find out they've reserved a large portion of the gym for an "alpha competition". Unable to even find an open treadmill downstairs, I left.

Disappointed with this gym. Won't be continuing my membership here much longer.

It was good to finally be back at the Life Time SLP. It was clean, plenty of sanitizer for me and the equipment. Some people using masks when working out, some not. All respectful of social distancing to the extent possible. Bummer that no razers, cotton swabs, shaving cream or lotion in men's locker room, but respect the choice. Looking forward to being back 3-4 times a week.

Absurdly, obnoxiously, impossibly busy nearly all ...

Absurdly, obnoxiously, impossibly busy nearly all of the time. Good luck parking, let alone getting in on a squat rack. Which leads me to the next part...

The layout of the cardio room has the free weights at the front of the room to be gazed upon by hundreds of treadmills and ellipticals, which is absurdly awkward and not at all conducive to a productive work out. I brought a friend on a guest pass once and they were so intimidated by the roving packs of bros and the feeling of being stared at that they barely made it through their workout. Whomever decided on this layout has clearly forgotten what it was like to be a novice lifter. It took months to get her back into the gym after that experience which was ultimately the last straw for me and I canceled - which they make you do in person or by mail, which is stupidly convoluted, archaic, and inconvenient.
