I am a LTF groupie and love the club! That said, I want to talk about the cafe'. I joined LTF in 2007, working out at the Chanhassen club. Before the smoothies cost $7+, I used to get one every day after my workout. Consistently wonderful. When the price went up, I limited myself to one a week. But the taste? HEAVEN!

However, a year ago, we moved this way and I started going to the St. Louis Park club. I have never had so many smoothies that are missing "something." I always order them and then head for my car. So, on my way to my next stop, I am utterly disappointed with the taste. They forgot the banana. They left out the peanut butter. They used the wrong flavor of protein powder. etc.

Today again, they were offering samples of their strawberry/banana with vanilla whey protein. The sample was out of this world, so I determined to get one after my workout. But, as I headed to my car, I tasted it. No banana. GOOD GRIEF!

Maybe this club needs to take a day and just have everyone who works in the cafe' have a smoothie lesson! Especially for the price they think they are worth.

I have been going to the St. Louis Park Lifetime for 8 years. I have always enjoyed the central location with easy access to the running trails around the lakes. Katie Haggerty and EJ Tso are the best instructors and their classes are always a fun great workout. It saddens me that the showers and the stainless steel bathroom partitions in the women's locker room are so disgusting. With the membership fees so high it would be nice if management would take into consideration a fix for this eyesore!!!

Due to health issue I needed to quit my membership last Spring. Every class I wanted to go to was over crowded to the point of inability to do moves properly (i.e. Yoga with weights)..no issues with quitting, and over the past year have received repeated offers to join with all fees waived. Now as I am planning to return and weighing my options with clubs, yoga studios, etc. I received a text message "Life Time Athletic just announced a HISTORIC joining offer for all Former Members. I called and it was the same offer, no fees. I asked why it was "HISTORIC" their emphasis...they said what were you expecting (none too nicely). I was told it was "just marketing"...Please lose my number. It did help me remove them from the list. Especially when I asked for a call back from a manager and did not receive one.

Lifetime is easily the nicest fitness club in the area, for sure! The upgraded Golf Simulators are superb; amazing course selection and lots of different golf game modes. With all the fitness classes and the amazing cardio section in the gym, Lifetime is a 5 star experience, hands down! Very friendly staff; Have always been greeted with a smile. Love being a member of this club!

Remodel was a big mistake as many members gravitate to this gym as one of the few with natural sunlight which was significantly affected by adding an additional alpha room. Furthermore, recent equipment changes clearly had no guest input as the weight machines are much worse. Too bad these changes had to occur.

This place is terrible. I thought LA Fitness was bad but this gym is even worse. Wayyyy too expensive for what they offer (sneaky and shady business practices, dirty locker rooms/showers/steam room, sauna and hot tub are scummy and rarely hot, and pool schedule and temperature wildly fluctuates.
They kept charging me after I requested to cancel for months. I even canceled my credit card finally, got a new one but they still managed to continue charging the new card? Finally filed a charge dispute through my bank and Lifetime ended up having to refund months of fees.
I'd suggest going to any other gym--even (as much as I hate to say it) LA Fitness is cleaner, slightly more honest and generally better than this place.

I was a Life Time member for three-and-a-half years. I've dealt with a crowded fitness center, a huge construction mess that shut down half the locker rooms for way too long, creepy old men taking pictures of women in the fitness center, seeing other people's lockers and cars broken into and staff not caring, and the final straw was another member pushing their way into my shower and inappropriately touching me.

Clearly, it was time to cancel -- but not so easy. Despite having a website that lets you manage virtually every aspect of your membership online, if you want to cancel, you have to write a letter, print it to paper, and send it via Certified Mail, return receipt requested -- they say a full month in advance. They don't want to keep your business by providing good service, they want you to be tricked into staying.

Fun fact! When you become a member, Life Time automatically subscribes you to "Experience Life Magazine" and they add $15 to your membership for it unless you cancel. Of course, you can cancel, but in my experience they don't actually honor your request. Read the contract in detail if you decide for some reason to join.

This place is, in my opinion, the definition of consumer fraud.

I have been going to this location on and off sinc...

I have been going to this location on and off since it was a Northwest Athletic location. Lifetime has certainly improved the facility and I really cannot say enough wonderful things about the LifeSpa. The best massage of my life, the best facial of my life, and my most recent haircut have all been at this location. The LifeSpa staff are great! The gym is well maintained, clean, and has a private hot tub (at least for women) in the locker room, tanning facilities, sauna, and steam room. The cafe is great as well - there's always something healthy and fresh to eat. The equipment is vast and complete! However, there are a few drawbacks. 1) People using the gym - Many come to socialize and are a bit stuck up; i.e., if they're speaking loudly to their friend, it's totally fine, but if you take a 20-second phone call, they glower at you and tell you to shut up. However, many people keep to themselves, do their workouts and seem very friendly. I've noticed may women leave their towels on a bench 2-3 feet from a dirty towel bin, which is just unacceptable! Have some decency and respect for the people manning the locker room! 2) The personal training staff seems to continually try and charge you for whatever they can. More training sessions or a lung exercise or products they sell and it's absolutely disgusting. I paid for two sessions, only used one and it took 5 different communications to get my money refunded for the second session, which seems similar to another reviewer here. 3) The locker room is 85% full of "special" lockers and it's hard to find a regular card-holding locker. 4) I don't know why this gym is "platinum" level - there isn't a nice outdoor waterslide park or aquatic facility like Plymouth-Gold level, just the tennis facility, which another reviewer expanded on before me. In any case, I don't think this club is worth $90/mo as a single subscriber.

I ve been a member for a decade, and the SLP location is my home. The staff are friendly, the trainers are excellent, and the facilities are very nice and clean. It s a very large facility with tons of classes and is usually busy. That being said, you need to know when to go to avoid crowds, like any gym. The locker rooms are newly renovated, the upstairs turf area for advanced training is updated, they brought in new equipment last year, and built on a new Alpha space. By far the best Life Time I ve been to in the country. I highly recommend this location!

This place is "just" ok place to workout. They try to up sell you services when you join and make it as inconvenient as possible when you want to cancel your membership. Membership prices are around 90-110 a month. They just upped everyone rate by $25 a month with little to no warning. Its also busy at times and hard to find parking (before the ramp)
