My experience with both Erics was great and I appreciated the work they completed for my home. I had three different projects and they were professional and very thorough.

Lightfoot seems to have a fairly decent team of plumbers, HVAC people, etc. but I absolutely do not recommend them for home automation. We ordered and paid for several home automation devices and it took 6 months to get everything installed. Even after 6 months we still did not get the front door lock we ordered. I'm so tired of calling them to get things corrected, I've just given up and we are resigned to use the door lock they installed. The doorbell camera did not work properly when they first installed it and it took 6 months to get it replaced. You have to pay a monthly fee to have access to video recordings, which is not unusual for home automation services. But the investment in the equipment you have to buy and the monthly service ties you to this service provider forever unless you want to throw away over $2000 and start over with someone else.
One nice thing I can share is it was easy to connect Alexa to the home automation hub so now we can use voice commands to adjust the thermostats, lock doors, and close the garage. And everything can be accessed and controlled from one single app on your phone.
Two stars for the good, but no more than two because of terrible customer service.

Dylan was very kind, respectful, and clear at communicating. Lightfoot's business processes and estimating procedures are not. A call with the office led me to believe a simple sink drain gasket repair would be timely, the parts would be on the truck, and the repair would be reasonably priced. The part is $4 at the orange store, and the repair no more than 15 minutes. My bid once Dylan arrived was over $200, and he'd have to go get the part and come back at later time. I would have done the repair 3 days ago myself if you would be honest up front. You used to be fair, but this is ridiculous. What changed? You wasted my time, your dispatchers time, and Dylan's time. Thankfully, you did waive my service charge as a gesture of Goodwill after you said there was no mechanism by which you could take a fair amount of my money for a simple repair.
They made it to my mom s house the same day I called. Did a great job repairing a broken toilet supply line. Communication was great.

Where do I start? $380 for a rubber flapper toilet seal thing. It took me 30 minutes, $19.99 at home depot, and a YouTube video.
They told me my entire HVAC system needed to be replaced ($4,000) when I called them out to blow out my secondary drain line and that it was frozen due to pet hair... WRONG. HOUK HVAC company came out advised me to remove the water that was standing under the unit and that it would unfreeze since the air was pulling moisture onto the cold coils and that was causing it to then freeze. I used my wet/dry vac, removed the water and the system has been running fine ever since. HOUK DIDN'T CHARGE ME A PENNY FOR THAT WHILE LIGHTFOOT CHARGED ME $300 to turn the system off, clean it, and just to have it freeze back up.
THEN we have the $850 garbage disposal... for a $88.10 Badger 5 from Home Depot. THEN he said he would do it for $450. 20 minutes later after sitting in his truck he knocks on my door again and says he'll do it for $250... really? A $600 swing on a $88 garbage disposal? So feel free to say "NO!" to their extreme prices and they'll come back with a price that is lower than their initial 300% mark-up.

When I called the office to talk to someone about my experience all the lady wanted to do was argue and then tell me about their different level of services and warranties on the $88 garbage disposal. NOTHING CAN EXPLAIN HOW YOU TELL A CUSTOMER $850 FOR A GARBAGE DISPOSAL JUST TO FINALLY COME DOWN TO $250... WHAT IF I HAD PAID THE $850? YOU "GOOD" GUYS WOULDN'T HAVE SENT ME A CHECK FOR $600!!! CROOKS AND DONT BE SCARED TO GET A SECOND OPINION BEFORE PAYING FOR THEIR SERVICES.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HOUK HVAC FOR YOUR HVAC NEEDS. They have never once screwed me over and give me upfront and honest advice even if that means they make no money.

Replaced a 5 ton heat pump AC and air handler in 7.5 hrs including new duct work for more return volume. Cleaned up, showed me how the new thermostat worked and now the house is warm again. They will come to the house tomorrow to do a followup on how everything is working

David was professional and knowledgeable and he fixed my problem pretty quickly. I realized and was happy to pay a higher amount for a Sunday visit. However I felt the cost of the capacitor ($350.00) was more than twice the amount I checked was the normal and usual amount ($125.00 to $150.00 range).

Robert came on a Saturday in the rain and had to access my water heater from outside the house to work on it. He replaced a part and got the pilot re-lit quickly, giving me hot water again. I am so glad they sent someone on a Saturday during the Holiday Season and sent him quickly. No cold showers for me!

The service was timely and well done with a very professional plumber, Mark Tilton. The only thing keeping this from five stars is their use of flat rate pricing. The initial price given was a bit on the steep side for the job (in our opinion) I would do 4.5 stars as they were willing to negotiate a far more reasonable rate when we pushed back a little. However google will not allow this. I do recommend their quality of service, however would also recommend you ask upfront for a ballpark figure - or be ready to do a little negotiating.
All told with the minor caveats I noted, I would recommend them as a resource.

Mark with Lightfoot Mechanical did a great job replacing a bathroom faucet. Since the old faucet was installed 55 years ago in 1965, Mark had to replace the stop valves and supply lines as well. The old faucet was leaking, the lines had been soldered and the stop valves would not close. Mark completed the work within 2 hours. Now we have our brand new faucet installed with a drain that will be easy to clean and we can turn off the water supply at the sink when needed.

What started out bad has turned around greatly.....They're absolutely horrible, and the worst! They came out one time and caused my unit to start leaking water. Now after the 7th visit out in one month time period due to non stop leaking, all I'm getting are excuses about why there is a leak. Now I have a huge interior wall of my house with water damage, and they're refusing to accept responsibility, and take care of it due to the leaking. A water mitigation specialist checked my wall and showed 80 to 90% saturation on my wall. After popping the baseboards, and showing more saturation, and mold and mildew, the service people say just let it dry, and it'll be fine. They refuse to take responsibility for their wrong doings, even when I have proof they are at fault. Oh and the unit itself is already leaking again, and they just left. The lady on the phone Melinda refuses to speak to us anymore, so now we can't get them back out. Don't use them for service. They're the absolutle worst! Anyone is better than lightfoot! Edit: Since this the owner has come out and taken apart the unit to his shop, and given us new ACs until ours is fixed. Then he has agreed to replace the damaged wall in our home, and fix it completely. I hate that it got to this point, but the owner himself is now making the situation right, which speaks volumes on who he is, and how much he cares. I have been assured that the employees with attitude and behavior have been dealt with. As long as it continues this way I have no problem adjusting my rating to a 4.

I couldn't have called a better company I don't think than Lightfoot Mechanical. The gentleman was very professional and cordial during his visit. He did what he could do to try and resolve the issue to no avail. It turns out that the problem was the property owners problem because of where the location of the clog was. He waived the fee and I was not charged because he could not fix what was wrong. How often do you see that nowadays? Hardly ever any more. I would recommend this company whole heartedly because they take their work seriously and honestly. Thanks so much for restoring some faith back into business practices gentlemen. :-)

We switched out an old water heater that started leaking (up in the attic!) and went with a tankless water heater. The service was great!! I was given a text message with my appointment information immediately after I made the appointment and then another to remind me that my appointment the day before. Then about an hour before the technician arrived, I received another text with the picture of the technician along with a link that allowed me to track his progress toward my home. When he came, he was very polite and professional the entire time. He explained everything patiently and listened to our concerns. Overall, a great experience.

I have to preface this with the info that I did not end up needing them for the work and canceled my appointment.
But they will be the first I call if I ever have any plumbing issues again. I called a number of companies when I wasn't sure if this was a matter that I could handle on my own. This was the friendliest, most helpful company I spoke with, willing to work with my schedule , and just so refreshing to interact with after the other calls that I had to leave a review.
To edit: this is very delayed but I did call back. The plumbers showed up within the time frame given. There was an evaluation fee. I had a small leak that was not an issue when everything was properly hooked up but did leak when the toilet was not installed. The plumbers would not do any work on the issue for which I initially called them without fixing that leak first because of liability concerns, but that cost even more on top of fixing the actual issue. It was either the week before or the week of Christmas, so I declined. I ended up having someone else come out, they capped the leak while they fixed the issue and once everything was properly installed it was fine. This place did seem professional but the friendliness that initially drew me in was not present in subsequent interactions, although friendliness isn't necessarily a requirement for a plumber. However, the initial 5 stars was for that exceptional first interaction.

I contacted Lightfoot on 4/16/20 about replacing a ceiling fan at my home. I spoke with Linda who was very nice, she explained the $79 service fee and when the tech got there he would quote me a price for installation. I was disappointed that I could not get a price range for the installation, but thought since they were local it wouldn t be too much on top of the service fee. The tech was very courteous, looked at everything, but did not go into my attic. He then said my ceiling fan mounting box was not up to code (although it was firmly mounted & no prior issues) so he would need to replace it. Total cost for installing the ceiling fan would be $479.00. While I haven t hired an electrician in a while, I thought that $479 for about an hour of work was too much. I declined any further service, and paid the $79 service fee. Everyone at Lightfoot was very professional, but from now on if I can t get a quote or some type of price range I ll move on....

I called Lightfoot based on a referral, and they were able to fit me in their schedule almost immediately. I was provided information on costs and what work needed to be done and why. It can be tricky to find a go-to plumber or A/C company, but these guys are it. The techs all know their trade and everything they have control over always goes smoothly. Billing is quick and *relatively* painless as well. Overall, with a couple of good experiences in the books, I recommend these guys pretty highly. They will continue to be my go-to for the foreseeable future!
