We visited here as part of a coach trip touring Kent but unfortunately we didn't have long enough to see every thing at leisure as you could easily spend a whole day here! The castle is absolutely spectacular sitting proudly in the middle of an enormous moat. You were made welcome on entry and allowed to take photos and touch a lot of the exhibits. The gardens are a delight and you could even take a boat ride on the lake where black swans gracefully swim! Beautiful!

Relatief duur. Imposant kasteel.

I give it 4 stars because I couldn't visit the maze and the outer castle. Very beautiful inside (even though rebuilt) and the park outside is magnificent, looks like a postcard. A proper castle, with moot and everything

I love Leeds castle and this was my third visit and I'll be going again because it is a nice place to go. This particular visit was to see the Flower Festival - we joined the queue not knowing it was such a long long queue and queued for over an hour to reach the entry, where the queue carried on for the whole viewing - it was awful - couldn't wait to reach the exit so didn't really appreciate all the flower displays. I hope that queuing will be dealt with more effectively for future festivals!

Best castle we went to while around England.. mostly because there weren't the crowds but it was gorgeous. Easy little walk around, or you can take the train up to the castle. The have the address well sectioned off so traffic moves fast in the castle and you get to see everything. The game some nice gardens, great views, and the grotto area is very neat.

One of the several beautiful castles that I've visited. The grounds are immaculately maintained and lush green. Of course there is a gift shop and toilets.

But this report is about the castle. So here goes. As most castles, this one also has rooms that lead on to more rooms and like so many others, most rooms are still not open to the public. But those that are, reveal the opulent lifestyle of the people who lived here.

In the 16th century, King Henry VIII used it as a residence for one of his several wives Catherine of Aragon. Lady Baillie was the last person who lived here and left it to the National Trust along with 500 acres of land.

If you can, do visit this castle.

Castle with a remarkable number of windows, making it lighter than most other castles I have been to. The last owner (lady Baillies) has completely redecorated and also furnished. The gardens are very beautiful!
Restaurant is good.
Indeed a pity about the very high price, for locals it is of course ideal 1 ticket for the whole year but unnecessary for the other tourists. The rating would be higher if the ticket price was lower.
Due to the many tourists and the decoration, it also has a bit of an "efteling" content.

Was very disappointed from our visit yesterday.

Was very disappointed from our visit yesterday.

We have been visiting Leeds Castle for many years. Our children use to enjoy scooter/bike ride and we use to enjoy a meal with a glorious view.

All that left of it is view. They have banned bikes/ scooters, etc, without explanation with regards to the reasons. Somebody once said it is to avoid accidents. Well, from 10 years going there we had not even once experienced or witnessed any accidents, involving children on bikes or scooters, etc. I think soon, they would ban children altogether, these little people like to run (this might cause a serious accident!)

The Fairfax restaurant: the selection of food was very poor; children could only choose from two types of pasta (with some sauces) And there was no carvery offered.
Overall, very basic meals.

We have also noted, that all the restaurants/cafes were closed just after 4. A big disappointment for our kids, who wanted to buy some ice cream.

All in all, it is a shame witnessing that the services went down. I would not say it is family friendly and, judging by how quiet it was, probably other people agree.

We had a good day out here. It is a place worth visiting with a long and fascinating history. It has plenty to offer visitors of all ages. The castle itself is quite a walk from the entrance but there is a land train if you'd rather use it. The grounds and gardens are beautifully kept and provide points of interest throughout the seasons. The entrance fee is quite expensive but allows for unlimited returns during the following year, so, it is good value if you live locally and can return regularly.

Great day out whether for a romantic picnic or family fun.
Beautiful setting and fabulous castle .
Simply wonderful events programme. There's so much see and to do here it's so worth getting the yearly pass which I believe is the cost of going once.
Easy to get to and a favourite place for us to return again and again.
Truly one of the best days out in the south east of England.

Beautiful place to visit with fun for all the family. Love coming here and have been many times. The grounds are lovely to wander around and the house is always worth a visit. At certain times of the year it is decorated more than others. Gondala rides available and the food on offer is nice. You can also bring a picnic as there are benches and plenty of grass to sit on. Big play area for the kids, War exhibit and falconry shows are regularly on and the maze is always great fun...love going through the grotto at the end! Go Ape and the Segway Experience are also located here (prior booking required).

A fab castle to visit for those vistitors wanting to see a typical castle from all ages. It's a little bit of a walk through the grounds to get to the actual castle from the car park so I would recommend anyone with difficlulty walking to check that the shuttle train is working. On this day it wasnt so It was fortunate all of us were able bodied. As you enter the castle gates there is a great little video showing how the castle changed through the ages. The castle itself is something to behold and you get to see many of the rooms the library specifically is great. The castle looked emmaculate (or as much as you could for ancient rooms!) Theres plenty to keep the kids interested with activitys around the castle and the grounds. The maze is good fun with a grotto underneath when (and if) you make it to the centre. The falconry display is good fun if you make it there around 13:30. Overall a day well spent and definatly recommended for all ages. One negative is the refreshments on offer...very limited but that didnt go as far to spoil the day.

What a lovely day! My only regret is that I don t actually live near Kent so the 12 month access pass doesn t help me much.
Very much enjoyed touring the Castle (get the audio guide) and bring your own headphones if you have them. The Birds Of Prey demonstration was neat (their owl is stunningly beautiful) and only wished I d had time to visit the new baby owl too.
The ferry ride was amazing, formal gardens a beautiful example of an English garden, and the grounds, picnic tables, and friendly workers made the day one of the best I ve had during my 3 weeks in Kent. It truly is lovely, and I recommend it for solo, couples, seniors, and families.
