A fab castle to visit for those vistitors wanting ...

A fab castle to visit for those vistitors wanting to see a typical castle from all ages. It's a little bit of a walk through the grounds to get to the actual castle from the car park so I would recommend anyone with difficlulty walking to check that the shuttle train is working. On this day it wasnt so It was fortunate all of us were able bodied. As you enter the castle gates there is a great little video showing how the castle changed through the ages. The castle itself is something to behold and you get to see many of the rooms the library specifically is great. The castle looked emmaculate (or as much as you could for ancient rooms!) Theres plenty to keep the kids interested with activitys around the castle and the grounds. The maze is good fun with a grotto underneath when (and if) you make it to the centre. The falconry display is good fun if you make it there around 13:30. Overall a day well spent and definatly recommended for all ages. One negative is the refreshments on offer...very limited but that didnt go as far to spoil the day.
