We had two very good nights here. Staff were excellent and very friendly. Ate in the restaurant on the first night and the quality of the food and service couldn't be faulted. The continental buffet and cooked options also excellent. Small but cosy room on the top floor of the old building with good views over trees and on to London.

We stayed and held a very special event here and not only was our room gorgeous, but the staff made sure our every need was catered to. World class service. We felt like royalty! The manor is a beautiful setting and has loads of history - and those lovely Laura Ashley designs! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and our guests loved the event as well!

One of the filthiest places that I have visited. Chipped and dirty china used to serve tea and coffee. Dead flies and insects scattered on seats and surrounding areas. Food in terms of mains was ok, but desserts were amazingly disappointing and tasteless. Not appetising at all and looked like dead mouse splattered on plates. I am a bit confused as to how this place is still in business.

A very nice hotel with attentive staff and nice surroundings. Food was good but not brilliant, although reasonably priced. The rooms are nice although a little TLC is needed as there are some sings of wear and tear. Worth staying at.

Service was not so great. We arrived early for lunch so headed to the bar for a drink. Stood at the bar for a while but no one available to serve drinks. Finally spoke to the man on reception who then promptly started searching for the bar man. This took some time. We were then seated for lunch. As we mused over the menu we asked the waitress what certain things were. She didn't know any of them and to go ask the chef. When the food arrived there was something we didn't recognise which accompanied the lamb but again the waitress had no idea. The food is bulk standard nothing out of the ordinary. The hotel decor looks tired and a little shabby. Disappointed overall.

Very nice hotel. Very well cared for and the staff is very friendly and professional. The location is ideal for fleeing the busy city.
Breakfast is taken care of and dinner is finished to perfection. The beds are on the small side, but the peace in and around the hotel makes up for this.
Highly recommended!

Not sure where to start but what an awful afternoon tea experience. Terrible service, dirty cutlery, mediocre food and to top it off a manager who simply didn t care. What a disappointment as it was a birthday treat for my sister. Needless to say we will not be returning.

We had a meal for 8 plus two children on 26.12.17. Firstly there was a mix up with the timing. We booked for 1pm they had us down for 12pm. It all went downhill from there. We were seated at 1.15pm after being assured that it was not a problem. We had our starters within a normal time frame but then we waited 2 hours!! for the main meal. It wasn't worth it when it came. The beef meals had the Yorkshire puddings missing and were cold, The rest of the meals ranged between cold and just ok.. We asked for some more bread and the waiter came and put the rolls on the tablecloth as there were no plates. Put the rolls on the tablecloth !!!! The waiting staff did their best and were very good with the children but the whole meal was ruined by a frankly shambolic management. We did receive some compensation on the bill and the staff were very apologetic but really our whole Boxing Day was spoiled. We will not be visiting again.

Wasn't sure what to expect as the reviews where mixed but I was pleasantly surprised. We were greeted by Tom who was our waiter for the evening & shown into the Cavendish restaurant & given an option of tables. He was very polite & helpful. After 2 courses I commented jokingly that my choices had not come with a reveal (a lid) and I was waiting for my dah dah moment. Tom arranged for Bennie, who was the bartender to come to our table & perform some magic so I wasn't too disappointed. Which was lovely. We then went to the bar and conversed with Bennie before heading outside to take in the air & observe the stunning view. We bumped into Will who was ensuring the outside & smoking area were clean and tidy. Back in the bar Bennie entertained us further with one last trick. Giving each of us a card with a message thanking us for being great customers. The evening was wonderful, the company & staff all added to a lovely night. We will return. Thank you Will, Bennie & Tom.

What a great venue.

What a great venue.

Have been here a couple of times and am looking forward to going back very soon.

Rooms are very kean and comfortable, the staff cannot do enough for you and the full English breakfast is fantastic.

Set in beautiful surroundings and steeped in history, this is a great place to stay or indeed have a business meeting at.

Highly recommended.

Nice atmosphere

Nice atmosphere
Nice layout of the place.
But very serious and sombre style of the staff.

Good food.

We were there to celebrate my birthday.

Will definitely revisit.

I was a recommended photographer here for many years. It is a fantastic venue, stunning location for your wedding and photos. The grounds at the front are stunning and you have the beautiful house as your backdrop. Amazing location and staff are fabulous. A great choice of venue to have your wedding day 10/10 +++

Really poor service over the phone before even booking. Rang restaurant to see if any cancellations and phone rang for 5 minutes before I put the phone down!?.. then made 3 attempts to call back again then eventually selecting reception who seemed to be uninterested in my enquiry. Poor start to what could have been a lovely day.

Now if it's class you are after then look no further than the edger bury manor as it has been called for many years by people who live around north London Edgware Boreham wood Elstree. ..this place is an arriganal tutor framed mansion just outside of Edgware you will need a car to get there it has rooms available to stay over a restaurant reception aeria quality staff for the children and adults alike full size garden chess game set up in the grounds ...place is perfect for weddings or a romantic overnight stay. ..you will love the solid carved fire place and solid wood panels leaded windows a very five star place indeed.....I promise you will love this elegant mansion as I have. ...enjoy my fellow travellers....

First stay here. Probably unlikely to return. Staff were very welcoming and helpful and we like the Laura Ashley decor which feels homely to us. The building is clearly very old and we expect quirks because of this. However, we weren t prepared for how tired it all felt.
We chose a suite on line and we were allocated Park Lane. Room was a good size and the bed was large and comfortable if not a bit on the soft side. Bathroom is a good size but the bath is short and the taps don t really work right. There is a ridiculously space age toilet which sadly didn t work and so is just small and uncomfortable.
Quirks. When someone walks across the room above, the chandelier in Park Lane tinkles . Sound proofing, not so much.
Hotel had a football team in and a lot of focus was on them.
Good points. Car parking. Good service in the bar after midnight. Kindly organised taxis and not at some inflated rate.
Bad points. Clearly overstretched the kitchen for breakfast. Lovely young waitress struggled to serve our room while I guess the focus was on the football team next door. Just lacked the crispness of most competitors.

Just had a good birthday cream tea in the delightful dining room. This has a great view of London, the staff are all courteous and helpful, the tea is delicious and generous, and I was given a small birthday cake by the restaurant which was lovely surprise. A great way to celebrate a birthday and we will definitely come back.

I stayed here with my husband for my birthday on the 23rd March. We paid just under 200 GBP for our suit.... which was terrible. It was one of the worst rooms ever. It had no character to it. The key stopped working at 11.45pm. At reception there was on one there. I called a few times. No answer. Over 30 mins until staff arrived. On departure at 11.40am there was again no staff. Would not recommend.

Didn't stay, but was trying to organise an afternoon tea and spa treatments for my wife's birthday.

I sent an email after all the spa information disappeared from the site a week after I had checked it.

3 weeks later, still no response to my email.

Oh I love this place. The minute you walk in it smells so nice . Great food served even at the bar as the restaurant area has certain opening hours. Really enjoyed their breakfast too since their very kind waitress convinced the chef to serve us brekkie as I was slightly late. So thanks very much for your kindness and going an extra mile to fulfil the customers requests.

We stayed at The Manor recently and absolutely loved it. Rooms are very spacious and very well decorated. Staff always very pleasant and efficient. Hotel has ample parking and large well maintained gardens. Truly wonderful experience.

This is my second experience of afternoon tea here. The first time was bad. This time it was worse.

I called ahead to say one was vegan and two vegetarians....they bought us meat sandwiches. They just couldn't get it right. The service started off bad, and was slightly salvaged by the manager. It was a terrible experience and I would never go back.

I booked an afternoon tea here for my hen do last Saturday. It was absolutely perfect. The staff were so kind and friendly. It is such a beautiful venue and the afternoon tea was gorgeous. The staff were attentive but not pushy and we were asked if we needed more food and tea several times. Thank you to all the staff who helped make it so special for me. Highly recommended.

A beautiful manor and surrounding grounds nestled in Elstree. Went here for afternoon tea with friends. The selection and quality of the food and tea was nice enough, and the staff were attentive.
