My wife and I purchased a home on December 2020 that has a pool. The inspector said the pool worked just fine but due to the fact that there wasn't a need to get it serviced I waited for warmer weather here in Texas. Needless to say, I started my nightmare with Landmark April 2021. They denied my first claim stating that is was "already damaged" and I had to get a second opinion. After numerous failed attempts on their part or the contractor because they did a lot of name blaming the work never got done nor the second opinion. Not until I continuously called them and then they finally allowed me to go outside of the network. Only to inform me that the limit of coverage is $1000 and apparently them having to schedule a contractor for $150, made it so they could only reimburse me $850 total. That makes a lot of sense considering I paid you over $600 for the warranty. The pool repairs were $4800. Also, the representative sent me an email requesting the home inspection that was done when I purchased the house. Brianna Lopez told me "I will be the claims adjuster to you deal with only." She even gave me her extension only to be ignored and left to talk to multiple others representatives for months. Below, is a screenshot of the last email between myself and Brianna Lopez of Landmark Home Warranty. This email and her disappearance for that matter occurred after our last phone conversation was she said "just send in the inspection and and if it states the pool was in working order we will fix it." I didn't want to believe the negative things that I was hearing out of the state of Arizona but now the truth is visible. Dishonest and unprofessional company. I feel like this method of insurance is a fraud and complete waste of time unless the repairs that need to be done are less than $1000. Maybe the company should be more up front instead using the old "read the fine print" tactic. This is how they treat recently retired Military service members by ripping them off. I am going to make sure the TX Commissioner of Insurance has my file.
UPDATE: Still after all my attempts I was informed that Landmark has authorized $1000 now. Not impressed. And please Landmark, whatever you do don't retort with "Dear Mr. Daniel, Thank you for bringing this information to our attention and allowing Landmark the opportunity to review your service history firsthand. Our top priority is customer satisfaction and providing comprehensive coverage, and we sincerely regret the frustration." It is only going to frustrate a 20 year post OEF/OIF and whatever other "Fs" this Country has been in my entire service.
