Special ordered my 2017 RRS early in the year. Ordered it without the Heated Front Windshield, didn't like seeing those lines while driving. Joe my salesman (really nice guy) said I would have no issues ordering without the heated windshield because the defroster would work just fine, it does not! I don't typically drive the RRS when the weather is bad because I own a truck that I drive most of the time but we happened to get caught in a small snow storm a few weeks ago and experienced ice and snow build up about 8 to 10 inches in on both sides of the front windshield. I turned the defroster on high but it would not clear the windshield unless we pulled over and let it melt, we would resume our drive and it would ice up again, very scary not being able to fully see out of the window! The next day I called the dealership and spoke with Natalee (receptionist, very nice on the phone) and I told her my issue and asked how I should proceed, she said to talk with the Service Department and if I was not satisfied to call the Customer Service Department. So, I called the Service Department and spoke with Tyler Fitzpatrick (very nice guy). I told him my issue and he said yes, that it is normal to get icing without the heated front windshield, the defroster vent is located only in the center and does not reach the outermost areas of the windshield. So, I called the Customer Service number and told them my issue, they could do nothing about it and I would need to call the Dealership I bought it from and speak with the GM since the Salesman at the Dealership told me it would work fine without the heated windshield. So, I called and spoke with Robb Ashby the GM, again very nice person on the phone. Robb was unable to do anything for me. Companies need to back there employees, even when they make big mistakes, as much as I love driving my RSS its only a fair weather car, I will not be replacing this vehicle with another Land Rover, bummer.
