Nice complex with multiple galleries. Good selection of impressionist art, especially liked the wall mural by Matisse. Mesoamerican section was also interesting. Several galleries were closed when we were there for renovations.
Ancient at section was lacking and not well laid out. Would have liked to see the Ancient Egypt collection (it was closed)
Several nice cafes and outdoor seating areas. If you have baggage they will check it at the ticket counter. The La Brea tarpits are right next door. It's an additional fee to enter that museum but you can walk through the park and look at several pts for free. All in all, a good way to spend an afternoon.

One of the must see sights of L.A., especially if you're into museums. Lots of art installations outside of the museum that are just as exciting as what's inside the museum. Paid parking is available but street parking is readily available too. Awesome rotating exhibits.

This place holds so many memories for me. Trust me, it is extremely special. If you enjoy art, I recommend visiting. Preferably in the summer. In the late afternoon. If not, I'm not sure. Take children.

Best museum in the Western US, outstanding in depth collection. That said not too thrilled about the remodel and teardown of the 1960s buildings and plan to exhibit only a part of the collection at one time.

Beautiful grounds, beautiful art. Very kid friendly. We have picnics, roll down the hills, look at the elephants and tar pits and paint art in the Boone art room in the Hammer building.

Today was me and my gf's first time visiting this place and I honestly have to say that this place is complete garbage. Dont get me wrong its a beauttiful place but the entire experience was horrible. Everyone is a complete d!ck! The top floor has paintings that i can make myself when im feeling lazy... Fuvk this place and my gf had a bad vibe about this whole museum. Never will I come here again. Horrible experience. You waste your money for only a couple if paintings some idiot can make.

3rd floor of Ahmanson Building is all that matters. Everything else in the entire museum is garbage and a waste of time and isn't beautiful. Bathe in the beauty of the 3rd floor of the Ahmanson building... That's what gives this museum 5 stars.

An excellent permanent collection--what is presently on display is late 19th and 20th century European, and American and European art after 1950. Temporary exhibitions in the Broad Contemporary (BCAM) building; highly recommend the Chinese material culture exhibit--most intriguing. The Charles White retrospective in the Resnick is also excellent.

Tourist spot. If you're from LA or surrounding cities you can visit anytime. If family is visiting from out of town make sure you bring them here for the pictures. The lights look better at night.

one full day is not regarded enough for an art goer in lacma, so much varieties of exhibitions and shows. worth every penny of the $25 admission, 20 for la county residents. plus the tar pit park and musuem just in the backyard, also worth another few hours to explore. tip, parking in he front street is free until 4pm. no parking after 4.

Do not go there, 90% of the collections are closed. And they do not tell you this when you buy your 25$ ticket per adult. We visited the whole museum in just over 1 hour. Just wait a few years when the new building is built, and the collections are moved there.

Visited the grounds after being redirected for parking from the TarPits ( they share the grounds)
I love the Urban Lights! I had seen them in movies and had no idea where in LA they were! It was a nice surprise to stumble upon them and that they are free to visit! Walked around the grounds because we had little time, but were treated to amazing works of art around the museum. Also, there is the wonderful garden with several of Rodin s works! Worth the trip!

50 percentage of the buildings are under construction without early notice and 30 percent of the staffs are super impolite, and they presumably assume you do not have tickets. One staff even asked where my tickets are after I show him the sticker (which I stuck on my chest). One star rating simply represents my anger.

I running out of different angles that I can use to take photos of the street lights. But I am going to keep looking for something new. I love the Latin American section and the Diego Rivera works. They have some bad ass events with some cool people. Whenever i am in the area I try to stop by. LACMA is a crowd pleaser.
