Amazing museum which is the largest in LA County. Not only is it located on the site of the La Brea Tar pits with active pools of water bubbling tar with prehistoric fossils, but there are numerous building with hundreds of thousands of different art collections which rotate on a monthly basis. Also there are well maintained facilities for having lunch, strolling and enjoying the LA sun.

Superb experience. If you visit LA then you MUST visit this place. They have seasonal changing exhibitions that changes all year around so there's always something new. I loved the ancient Egyptian collection its very good. There's also plenty of options for food here. If you visit then you might wanna try La Brea tar pits which is the other side of the museum. Beautiful place.

You don't necessarily need to be a connoisseur of modern art to appreciate the LACMA, a museum with many traveling exhibitions and a very interesting collection. The structure itself is worth a visit, even if the ticket price is not exactly cheap ($ 25), especially when - as it happened to me - part of the museum was closed for a renovation. The only real drawback is that the place is not very easy to reach, but soon the problem will be solved because they are extending one of the metro lines that will stop right there in front.

Went to see the lights was told we had to wear a mask while taking pictures which was fine. Wanted to use my tripod and was told it was not allowed and to go to the sidewalk meanwhile everyone on the exhibit had their masks off but my tripod was the problem.

We found some meter parking towards the end of the day so we only had to pay for 30 mins and the rest was free after 8pm. The lights were pretty to look at, we went on a Thursday so although there were plenty of people, it still wasn t overly crowded. Cool photo opportunity!

Do you think Chris Burden knew selfies were going to become the commander in chief of art viewing? Maybe, made reality tv before anyone.... and i would rather see Burden getting shot than anything happen with a Kardashian.

A must visit if you're an art lover and are in LA. Even if you're not that into art it's still definitely worth checking out the exhibits. Artwork from every corner of the globe in this place.

Very unfortunately, we went when it had a lot of closures for renovation and installations. It would have been nice for the lady selling us a ticket to review that with us, because it was not worth the admission price for the amount of open exhibits. I would not go again, but could see someone really loving contemporary art giving it another chance when everything reopens.

Awful service, they never tell you you'll need to reserve in an iPad in the corner of building A... no it's around the next building... no it's in the ticket booth... sorry, but those reservations are sold out...

I absolutely love the LACMA! Great collection of contemporary art. The James Turrell permanent installation is a must-see! Make sure to reserve a time slot when you buy your ticket so you don't miss out!

One of Los Angeles's best and largest museums with a terrific permanent art collection and often enchanting special exhibits.
A great place to visit several times a year.
They also often have courtyard music and special engagements.

Great LA Landmark, starting from the Urban lights. Their exhibitions change out pretty often, so if you frequent LACMA chances are there's something different to see each time. Just discovered if you go after 7pm parking is also free.

The kids get a member badge of their own and they can proudly wear it around their neck. What's great is that parents can tag along and the kids can finally say, they are taking their parents to their museum. Would like more kid friendly exhibits in the future.

This museum is not at all worth visiting during construction. You re better off going to the Getty if you re looking for a proper art museum experience. The two pavilions featured are incredibly boring, yet they charge full price as if there s more to see than these two small buildings. After about 20 minutes I was ready to leave. LA s art galleries have much more life & much more interesting art than this place.

Unfortunately for the fairly steep entrance fee- it s a bit disappointing as a lot of the exhibitions are closed for renovation . Last year I can here and it was exactly the same. So I m not sure if any renovations are actually going on!
