Very nice museum. I am used to Chicago's Art Institute and I was impressed by this area.
Go to Stark Bar in the early evening. Order a stiff drink with a friend, sit back in the compfy red chairs, people watch, unwind.
Different Art an amazing place to enjoy the day with friends or family
Really large museum with 2 main buildings. On the "Free Museum Days" get there when they open. Lines start forming and it gets insanely busy. Backpacks and large purses were not allowed in many exhibit areas, bring a snack you can fit in your pockets and bring water bottles because the food and water is L.A. priced.
Enjoyed the visit despite it being under construction. Many beautiful, interesting, and historical art work/art pieces to enjoy.
I always like going to major Art museums. This visit lost a star because too many buildings and floors were closed. I understand that installations take time, but it seemed like too much was closed. I am looking forward to Magritte's The Treachery of Images coming home. I hope it enjoyed its time in Belgium.
The Urban Light installation is the reason everyone goes here and it's free right outside the museum, which is amazing. The museum itself didn't have great exhibits and cost $24 as a student, so I would say skip going inside and stick to hanging out by the Light installation for free.
This place is for your enjoyment, NOT I LEARNED MY CHILD WAS TOLD TO SHUT UP ! AS THEY WERE ON A FIELD TRIP WITH 350+ CHILDREN THEY WERE JUST EXCITED AND EXPRESSING THEIR FEELINGS HARSH REMAKRS FROM STAFF . WORSE FIELD TRIP EVER !!!!!!!!!!!
Nice art concept, a must see tourist attraction and destination
There are so many buildings and exhibits to see. They have modern art as well as paintings that come from all over the world.
Very good attraction for photography, obviously recommended at night
What a huge disappointment. Because of renovations, a lot of galleries are closed. Make sure to check what is opened BEFORE you even go here or pay for your tickets! ($25 each) Could not find any of that info on their website... We went there and could not see what we originally expected - wasted most of our day. Rest of exhibitions were not interesting for us (maybe they can be for others?). Massive let down. Certainly not worth the full entry price.
What I could see was great but with so many buildings and exhibits closed they need to lower the admission
A must for all the angels visit. The entrance costs 25 and the calofornianos in the afternoon can enter free. Important works of art and you can also see natural oil wells Parking is not free. Worth it.
Very nice place to walk around with family or friends and has very nice art throughout the area. Recommend as a tourist attraction or a place to walk around.
I don't live close to LACMA, but I visit at least once a week. There is always something to see, or just take a walk on the grounds.
I took the photo of the Alexander Calder, Three Quintains (Hello Girls), 1964 on one of my visits.
I went with my staff and my friend Curtis Wang and we went on Access Services then we went on Access Services the driver drove us to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. We went in to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and I went and looked at art and then went to the Museum store and I gave the cashier my cash and the cashier did good customer service and the Men's bathroom it was cleaned.
Wonderful place to take a date if you like museums lots to look at fun to take photo of lamp out front
Lots of fun and many things to see. Culturally diverse with ancient artifacts. Well worth visiting.
Drove by the Los Angeles County Museum of Art for those street lights. Just a quick stop before calling it a night.
Big museum with plenty to take in! Take your time and dive in the exhibits. Also, check out the lights next to the ticket counter for a great photo op.
Great place! Buy some tickets once you get there online to avoid the general admission ticket line. There are a ton of exhibits and realistically this museum takes two days to complete. The lights outside are famous and a great photo op!
A place that make you feel out of LA, this is a must if you are visiting LA
This time the experience was shaded because a large portion of one of the main buildings was shut down for changes to the installation. However, I still had a great time, we also didn't have enough time to see the Guillermo del Toro exhibit.
Enjoyed the galleries, but be mindful some (a few pieces) art is not kid friendly (at least by my standards! Beautiful exhibits, though, and well worth the visit!
Very inspiring, incredible place, most enjoyed the children's art studio!
Its very instagrammable. To all millenials who wants to get a good photo, i recommend this place. I suggest going there on odd hours.
I loved the site and and the art! and there was a special Gehry exhibition and we met him in person!
Too many exhibits closed and too many only at limited times. Overall a poor experience and not worth the fee. Avoid.
Expensive. Most of what we wanted to see was packed up to be moved to a new building. Still charged full price.
Every turn and corner is a million dollar photo op waiting to happen. We came to visit while the sun was up and it wasn't half bad. Photos would have been more dramatic had we visited at night when the lamps are lit but then again the afternoon light wasn't too shabby for the photos we took.
Very wide collection covering everything from ancient Egypt to contemporary art. It lacks museography so it is very difficult to determine a logical visit plan. Large museum, so it can be overwhelming if you want to see everything.
incredible! You can see 20th century art and art rooms from all over the world.
If you have children, you must check out the Nextgen program where kids and one of their grownups gets in for free. They have an excellent family activity in the plaza every Sunday (different activities rotate in monthly), that is followed up with a docent-led tour of the exhibit that inspired the activity. Our docent was friendly, thoughtful, and gave my girls an excellent little lesson in art. There are lots of renovations going on, and many of the exhibits were closed for that reason. But it is still definitely worth the trip, especially on a Sunday!
A lot to see so take a whole day to really enjoy the art
Truly fine art in an accessible setting. We has a terrific visit.
