I absolutely loved this museum of art. I have been to multiple in the country, but this one really goes a little more in depth when it comes to diversity and cultures. I loved the event hosted, with music, food, and just everyone in general enjoying themselves.

Good place for city tourists and guest. Entrance fee for adults is 25 usd for students little bit less. There are few expositions which are shut down for renovations, however very good place to spebd some time in art. There are underground parking places available so no worries.

Awesome museum with a fine mix of modern and other art. Super easy access everywhere and the museum it self is well worth a visit. You can walk around all areas with real ease and you ll be amazed with this place.

Saw the exhibit about Sri Lanka and the one of Charles White' paintings. Both were amazing. Both were worth my time. The exhibits are next to each other so just leave more time and see them both.

A pure example of a capitalistic society america has become. Some rich tree hugger taking advantage of the system charging people for anything they can get their fingers on. 16$ parking, 25$ entry fee, snacks, gift shops, the list goes on. Do yourself a favor and ban this idiotic idea of a museum, the money is going to the rich and if you believe otherwise you are moronic. DO NOT go here. Staff is rude. Exit through the gift shop speaks strongly with this money hungry joke. Dont pay these corporate rich scum

We were in Los Angeles at the beginning of October 2019 and the museum was unfortunately under renovation. But we managed to take pictures in front of the museum on the poles. At night they are very beautiful. Hopefully we'll get in next time!

I looked forward to it for a long time, and finally went to the art gallery yesterday. It was unfortunate that I met a very bad guard who was very fierce towards my eight-year-old daughter and threatened to drive her out. My daughter was frightened and no longer interested in visiting any exhibition. I regret not complaining to this woman on the spot.

Great local museum. It's a little older, but there are plans to renovate in the near future. Some parts have already closed as the construction has begun in those buildings. Everything is wheelchair accessible, and they offer free ones to borrow as long as you leave a form of ID for a security deposit.

The collections housed at LACMA are always exceptional. However, 'Jazz at LACMA' is also a cultural, socially important hub for young, musically inspired professionals.

Every Friday night from April through November, LACMA's Friday night outdoor jazz concerts is the place to be. I discovered this about 10 years ago and look forward to it every year.

This is a FREE event. Go early, seats fill up quickly. Cocktails and light snacks are available for purchase.

Some of the musicians who have performed at LACMA in the past include: Wayne Shorter, John Clayton, Kenny Burrell, Les McCann, Billy Childs, Arturo Sandoval, Cannonball-Coltrane Project, and Ernie Watts.

All the attractions are very nice, in all you can take pictures very parents to share on your social networks, the place is very nice to take a walk if you are on a walk, or just go for a walk and hang out.

I have been a member for some time. I feel the curation has taken a nosedive. Even the lighting in the European Gallery could use some serious overhaul a direct glare on almost all the Oil paintings.

Difficult to find a place to park nearby. Turn around a few rounds and find an empty seat, 25 cents per 15 minutes, $ 1 an hour, not bad. There is a DJ as New year s event. Dancers are us. Residents of LA are free to enter after 3pm. Except Friday to Sunday weekends. There are many works by Chinese writers and avant-garde. I wasn't very good.

This was a great experience there is lots of people walk around and getting lost in the art. 17 years and younger go free so that is a bonus but apart for that an adult costs 20 dollars. One thing I recommend is bringing your own food as the food at lacmas cafe is terrible (the pizza at least) and over priced.

The LACMA establishment for the summer musical sessions is very very inviting and joyful, just a full day of fun, to bring yourself and your family out...enjoy the music, people, dance! Friday n Saturday nights.

I visited LACMA yesterday to see the Chagall exhibit. It was a very positive experience. Parking was available , the cashier verified that we were indeed from Los Angeles County, and the exhibit did what I would expect from art. It made me think. The ushers were informative and helped the visitors stay within the rules to protect the art and artifacts. My husband and I ate at the cafe on site, but we could have made this outing less expensive by eating at one of the food trucks. Other exhibits in the same building were equally atractive and we will go back to experience them.

LACMA, you're definitely not lacking when it comes to the arts.

I've been to LACMA before, but I haven't been since Levitated Mass, the large rock from a local quarry, was put on permanent exhibit here. Saturday was a good a time as any to check Levitated Mass out and have a look at the other exhibits on display.

Levitated Mass was, IMHO, underwhelming. I thought it would be bigger! (that's what she said) Visitors have fun posing as if they are lifting the rock, of which I was no exception. It's located towards the rear of the premises. Not quite my cup of tea, but definitely worth having a glimpse.

My favorite exhibits would have to be the Asian & Middle Eastern Art. Being a fan of "Ancient Aliens" on H2, I was delighted to see the same reliefs of the Annunaki, the gods of the ancient Sumerians, on exhibit.

The Sumerians were the most ancient known civilization, with the belief that the Annunaki created humans from clay. They also believed that the god Enlil, wanted to wipe out humans off the earth with a great flood, but the god Enqi, wanting to save humans, warned the Sumerian King, Ziusudra, to build a "craft" for he and his family, along with seed from all living things, to survive the upcoming flood. The same mythology is present in the Hebrew bible, with the Sumerian myths predating them.

The Asian art sculptures were a sight to behold, with their intricacy and craftmanship that have remained to this day.-

The Greco/Roman & European art were fascinating to look at, as well.

Highlights for me were works by Monet and, while not a huge fan, seeing Picasso's on display.

Of course, you can't go to LACMA w/o taking pics with the lampposts in the front.

Parking is in private lots and metro stops are within the area. When I went, several food trucks were parked across Wilshire for anyone looking for some chow.

I highly recommend paying a visit to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Spend a day, viewing incredible works of art and taking memorable pictures with your loved ones and friends. A must in SoCal!

My 8 year old daughter and I LOVED the museum! We both really enjoyed the miniature town with tiny roadways. I also enjoyed the black art. The bonus was signing my daughter up for the children's membership. She and 1 adult can get in free until she turns 18. AWESOME! A few of the exhibits were closed, so I'm sure we'll return again. I believe the membership also offers discounts on certain things. The children's museum is super cute. We spent about 45 minutes in there painting.
P.S. there is a portion of the museum you are not allowed to photograph. The staff is very helpful in letting you know where photography is welcome, but remember, no flash. We spent 3 1/2 hours here. Plenty of time. Also the Tar museum is on the same lot.

The most immersive part is the room sized elevator.

Compared to the art at festivals, like Burning Man, this place is stuck in the post modernism movement.

This cigarette sculpture was by far the coolest installation (so long as non-immersive viewing is your thing).

They are in the process of inventorying and packing up a big chunk of their collection in preparation for construction of new museum buildings, so a lot of their galleries are closed. However, they have a great exhibit of works by Pizarro and Picasso on loan. Also, the Charles White exhibition is fabulous.
